If this is not on your bucket list, it really should be. Beautiful gardens and an outstanding collection of the greatest artwork you'll ever had the privilege of seeing.

My son and I went to a field trip with his class and it was amazing!

I prefer this museum over the Villa. The Villa is good for an hour or two, but I spent 4 hours here exploring the art as well as the gardens of this place. There's also a nice view of dt Los Angeles.

I love the different installations and the garden. I just wish people kept better care of their kids, it is great to bring them, but some were destroying the plants.... I went to enjoy everything, including the gardens.

This is an impressive establishment with a large amount of priceless art on display. Remarkae that it's free. If you're here to eat the cafe on the lower floor is reasonably priced. Has great views of LA.

The complex itself is very pleasant. With a modern and clean look, it manages to be relaxing and fun to stroll by. The gardens are especially warm and cozy. The art collection though, while impressive for a private collector, is not of the same level of quality. It's OK as a introduction to Art History but it doesn't have many great authors, and when it does, the works are not among their most exquisite. It's definitely worth the visit but is not by any means one of the best incursions in Art History. The outside terraces provide a magnificent view over LA area. The restaurant is very elegant and has a classy food offering. Parking is provided in the lower part of the complex, at one of the ends of the tourist shuttle.

This is one of my favorite places in LA! I try to bring out of town guests here if they haven't seen it before.

Such a cool place with such a great story. I took the garden tour and learned about the conflict between the architect and the artist who designed the gardens. So much personality involved in the design of the place!
The buildings are very cubic and directional with intent to show you the sky wherever you go. It leads to a very open and warm feeling inside with some amazing views of the surrounding cityscapes from the roof.
The gardens are a contrast. You feel separate from everything not in the garden. It's beautiful, in a completely different way than the buildings are. It's worth the walk.
And of course aside from that, the priceless works of art all through the museum and gallery areas. I very much enjoyed the photography hall. There are plenty of rotating exhibits too so it's always worth coming back. Especially because the place is so huge and there's so much there that you can't possibly see it all in one day.

Just love it, views, exhibits, the cookies. Love it.

What a genuine gift to humanity. Priceless art and timeless history donated to the public to experience close up. A place even non-art enthusiasts will enjoy.

Easy to bring a picnic and enjoy a long visit to art and gardens

I am not an avid fan of art, but as a human being I have to appreciate the enormous effort that has been put on making this huge museum. AND there is no entrance fee, it's all free!
You can take the tram from the parking lot all the way to the museum. The sceneries are gorgeous and the artistic pieces in display are awesome. There is a taste for everyone, dishes, paintings, beds, furnitures, etc. Definitely pay a visit to this place, you won't regret it.

This can certainly be a must see/do location for anyone visiting LA who enjoys art, architecture and views over the city. If it s crowded at the tram, it s a nice 15 minute walk uphill (if you like walking). Amazing place and it s free!

Extraordinary. One of the finest cultural assets of Los Angeles. No trip to Los Angeles is complete without a visit to the Getty Center.

The Getty Museum is a fete of marvel and an amazing place to visit when you are in Los Angeles. I have been to Museums all over the World and the Getty Museum has to be one of the best especially since it is free except for parking and special exhibits. The grounds are stunning and it has one of the best views on the Westside of Los Angeles.

Love it! Excelent views and excelent services, the exhibitions are great but sometimes I entered by the exit of an exhibition, because I didnt see a signal or something that could help me to know where they started. The garden o my god I love it. I have gone twice to The Getty Center and I enjoyed it a lot.

The Getty was way more than my expectations. It is amazing all of the original artwork that is in one place!

Had a really nice visit to the Getty Centre. While the art wasn't to my taste specifically, it's a great day out. You can take the bus write to the tram, avoiding the $15 parking fee, and otherwise everything is free. The garden's are beautiful and there are great views of the city.

Always a lovely time. More to see here than you can ever take in during just one visit! Definitely don't wait until closing to leave if you want to take the tram down in a timely manner. The walk back down the hill isn't bad though if you don't mind that sort of thing. Cheaper parking after 3!

Enjoyable. Really sums up everything. Although my sandwich was expensive. But thats a nit pic. Its an art museum, not a Subway.

Interesting, informative museum. Just be aware there is a great amount of inappropriate revealing among paintings and sculptures. I know many calls that art, but I'm calling it nudity, as it is; especially when you go with kids.
You have to pay $15 for parking or $10 after 3:00pm. Entrance and tram- free. Not very easy to go around with strollers, due to a lot of public. Definitely, not the place where your kids can run around. They have a small area designed for kids, but they get bored fast.

Much more than a museum, this complex includes scholarly research, academic presentations, world outreach and a very fine collection all at one site.

Parking: A good time to go is sometime after 3pm because parking is $5 cheaper. But if on the weekend expect to take 15-20 minutes just to park

Museum: Art varies depending on time of year.

Outdoor: Sometimes music shows. Garden area. Open areas of grass to have a picnic or to lounge around on a towel. So bring a towel.

Views: Spectacular views of downtown LA and also Santa Monica. People sometimes us this place for engagement photos.

Great place to visit, free and include a tram up to the hill, just pay the parking.

Long lines to get into parking and take the tram but it moves quickly. Lunch at the cafe is pretty reasonable considering.

Probably the best of the botanical gardens in LA area. Plants and trees were well maintained, everything pretty green even in dead of summer. Kids love the mini railroad ride, it goes for a few minutes, which is pretty cool. Lots of shaded paths. Nice place for an afternoon outing.

Louvre & British Museum have much more impressive collection, but size, location & layout of Getty is very impressive

Beautiful museum that is free for everyone. Parking is $15 before 3:00 pm. I'd recommend going after 3:00 pm because parking is $10 dollars. A lot of exhibits to explore. It does tend to get crowded but nonetheless, it is fun to see artwork.

Architecture, beautiful gardens, fine art, great gift shops, and a restaurant I'll be visiting again. We paid $20 for parking on Sunday before 3 p.m.

The museum is worth going to. Loved it thoroughly. I should have come here earlier in the day to utilize all of it.
It is huge and it needs a full day to enjoy all the sections of the museum. Staffs are mostly helpful.
If you are interested in arts this is a treat for you.
Parking here is paid but the museum is free. There are cafes inside and you will get food for all the taste buds.

Lot Full sight not in clear view. Staff routes cars through Parking structure and back out on to Sepulvada.
With no options, or care about the lost 30 min roundabout ride.

MOVE THE LOT FULL SIGN TO SEPULVADA, The guest can see it and then decide if they want to seek alternate Parking.

Bad Planning, Bad event management. NO one is thinking or planning.

The most amazing epic great spectacular museum ive ever been to. Its huge complex in the hills and it offers also a great view over close LA if there is a good visibility. There is all kind of art from very old ones to contemporary art, beatifull garden and outdoor area with statues, fountains and many "art objects. General admission is free and all you have to pay is for parking your car. About 15 usd. Also dont forget to take some water or bottles because its so expensive in there and you can use drinkable water fountains to fill your bottles :)

This a must see place in LA and im really glad we decided to go there. Reserve whole day for it if you really want to enjoy the whole complex.

An amazing combination of art, architecture, gardens and views.

Wow. Overlooks the entire city of Los Angeles, Free, you only pay for parking and ride up on little train (so fun, they even put some music on). Go early, less of a crowd. Fun for families, and they're very strict on the food/beverages inside of exhibits. Incredible Art, so amazing.

This is a great place to spend the day with a friend.

Very nice view. 15 USD for parking and that's it! No entry fee! Sitemap has a lot of language versions, staffs are friendly. Can spend one day there if you look at the artworks one by one. I will go again when I am in LA.

So much diversity, in classical works. Interactive exhibits help engage beginning art aficionados. The views are BREATHTAKING from various outlooks. The grounds are well kept, and all of the buildings are well connected. The staff here is very attentive, though they tend to be prejudiced in whom they decide to keep an eye on.

Amazing musuem for family and friends. The galleries are impressive and very interesting.

Loved visiting The Getty. I wished I had more time. I mostly toured the gardens and outdoor area and it was just beautiful. The view overlooking LA was phenomenal. I can't wait to go back to explore more!
