Calm and tranquil, rich history, excellent visuals and audio guide, a must visit
Buy your tickets online and if possible book the earliest allotted time; It will save any unwanted queuing. The hot spring is still in working order so you can really imagine that in the times of the romans this was the place to visit. It was interesting to see the plumbing to the river was still intact beneath the city of Bath. There is a small gift shop and the chance to drink the mineral water. If you have extra time then visit the Pump Room for a cream tea.
The Roman Baths were - by far - my favorite thing to see and do in Bath. You must absolutely get an audio guide - it adds so much more to the experience. The Bill Byrson bits were really great! We went on Friday 30 June around 3pm and it was fairly busy. Our time at the baths were compressed because of the tour bus schedule - I could certainly spend 3 hours here.
Authentic Roman baths in bath. Didn't get in but the atmosphere is terrific!
Nice from outside, but couldn't get it. Why closing a church, it should always be open to receive its faithfuls
A great place to get an insight into Roman history and life, makes a very fun day out.
Very effective design for routing visitors through the ancient baths while leaving them essentially intact. Enter from the Bath Abbey Square, which itself a pleasant place to sit.
Fantastic exhibition which imparts a good understanding of Roman life in Britain.
Wonderful experience, well worth the cost of a ticket.
It is a must-see place in Bath. Many interesting things to see. The audio guide is great.
Great place for history buffs.
It's a few baths and historical relics.
Probably not super interesting for those who aren't very into historical architecture and stones.
There are a lot of stones.
I don't think that I need to say much about this location because most of you reading this will have heard of it and know what it offers. So the key things to note are:
- there will be crowds lining up to enter, so come early
- have your camera ready and be prepared to shoot in some dark interiors
Have fun :)
I had such a lovely time! You had to book in advance and u had certain periods that lasted 45 minutes which u could come in to get inside. They did not rush u and had lots of handsanitiser dispensers. The staff were all around helping to control and spread people out. There was only 1 rude staff who i think was just having a bad day, i hope it gets better :) You were given free tour guide phone thingys (all sanitised), which meants there would be numbers around the whole place and u would type it in and it would tell u the history and explain. The staff were also very patient. It was such a great experience but i think now i have seen it, i won't be needing to come back. It was just the perfect amount of length, it wasn't too long or too short. There was even a place near the end where u could throw a coin into a bath and wish- you could see all the coins at the bottom! How incredible! Tour guides aren't available at the moment due to covid 19 but we still got the speaker tour guide for free :) overall very happy. Also u can take photos but cannot bring a tripod
Baths is one of the best place to visit it's very beautiful
We thought it was very interesting and loved the self-guided tour. There is also a tour for children.
Wonderful to see the Roman architecture built upon in the Georgian style, lovely snapshot of Roman life in Britain. Went around without the audio guide so I could investigate in detail. Trying the water at the end was a welcome surprise, feeling better already!
Captivating display of roman culture and technology
Stunning place to visit. The entry fee is on the steep side but well worth it. Was suprised at the temp of the water which stills produces the hot water.
Extremely interesting, well explain and beautiful place.
Beautiful Roman museum not to be missed. Definitely with it
A must visit while in Bath. Lot's of historical information here
Interesting museum, unfortunately too crowded when we were there. But definately worth a visit.
Loved the whole experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of artifacts and displays inside the museum which linked together fantastically. The baths were beautiful, not just the large pool but also the many other smaller ones. I didn't know what to expect from the audio guide but it was actually really enjoyable and interesting, especially the one narrated by Bill Bryson. Very much worth the ticket price and a must visit if you're in Bath.
So much to be learned from Bath's history here. If you think you're going to spend half an hour just to see a pool, you're wrong. Spare a couple of hours to understand how this place influenced UK's history and development with lots of audio explanations, images, reconstructions, and artifacts found there. I'd say this is a must for anyone visiting the UK.
Lots of things to explore with vast interesting information.
Ps. Do buy a ticket online to prevent a long queue.
Stunning place, Imagine you walking on the same rocks that people were walking two thousand years ago
Way too expensive, extortionate prices, bad approach to the public regarding accessibility financially. Very interesting, but wow... Expensive!
I was expecting to get quite bored very quickly, but that absolutely wasn't the case! We spent a very pleasant few hours in the museum enjoying the exhibits and taking in everything it had to offer. A must visit!
besutifully preserved but fees are far too expensive compared to other historical sites which are as equally beautiful
If you visit Bath Spa then you have to visit, The Roman Baths.
Great history and so old. My family and I really enjoyed this tour.
What an amazing place! So well laid out with am excellent audio-guide. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, we had a great in character chat with some of the "Romans". Only downside was that due to covid there were some areas of the museum that were off limits, and the interactive children's activities were not running. Otherwise a great place to go!
Wonderful place, you won't regret one of the main landmarks. Prepare for 1-2hours of completely different atmosphere, portable guides, with a lot of info, special sections for children with more facts picked especially for them.
It's a must-see if you visit Bath. Absolutely amazing place, filled with history and very well preserved and presented.
The Roman baths are so lovely. There is so much information about the history and culture that the baths carry with them. Definitely worth visiting even if they are quite expensive.
The museum is a okay to walk around, the baths are a must see when in bath, really historic and well preserved
It's interesting, awesome. A wonderful place to go for those who enjoy history. Must-see
Very educational and interesting spot. Feels like you're in another country here, the atmosphere is nice. Audio guides are provided. The baths themselves are beautiful and very picturesque.
Theres free tours in the area as well and nice grassy areas to come to for picnics.
Worth seeing once....Bath itself is a beautiful city to walk around and get lost in.
Most enjoyable experience.
Pre booked the tickets online for an evening tour (19.30) less busy in the evening.
Must do attraction when you are in Bath
Ooh, awesome history experience brilliantly presented in various formats! Apart from the obviously brilliant remaining physical Roman structures, there are reconstructed models, holograms and artefacts to accompany the very informative electronic guide as well as very well informed staff, very willing to answer questions. Really on a par with pyramids and tombs in Egypt. Also got some great eau de toilette from the shop (thistle and black pepper) which was a bonus!
This place has been maintained very well over the years but my god its busy. Its only a small museum/place so it gets cramped very easily
Would make you imagine how it is to be a roman king or queen :)
Amazing contact with history, not only a museum but also a fantastic touch, smell and feeling of Roman times.
Great place to visit. It was our second visit, my wife and I took our son this time with us now he is older. Must see if you are visiting Bath. You will see the original hot water stream still going strong after 1000 of years (water temp 46c), baths themselves, different swimming pools, learn why this place was so special for Romans.
A big chunk of history, amazing place, definitely worth to buy a ticket as you wouldn't expect what is there
Not cheap but you can spend a good few hours here and their audio guide is excellent. Nice touch to have reenactors there as well, really brought the whole thing to life for the kids. Beautiful building
Boring as hell. Expensive, but if you love history and the rank smell of volcanic spring water treat yourself.
Absolutely brilliant. Too much to take on. Suggest a 2 day pass to make sure all is covered. One of the best museums yet. Thank you.
A good bit of history, but it's expensive. The gift shop is expensive also. But the history and audio guide is amazing and the way the story narrates is simply beautiful.
small site with old history of a Roman bath. Tickets are very expensive, not very worthy
The tour was so informative and the rooms are beautiful. A true piece of history in the middle of the city. Well worth the price.
Loved the experience and the space but with this covid situation the queues were quite big which made the experience much longer than necessary.
Loved the history and it's very beautiful ,very interesting and my children enjoyed the visit too .
Very nice place, full of history, good to visit; good food options nearby
It is a good experience and you get to explore how it was at the time of the romans. It is very educational
One of the absolute must-see places in Bath, if not the whole UK! There is a wealth of information on display here, with handheld audio guides giving a detailed narrative throughout the museum (there is also a childs voiceover for younger More
Cracking day out well worth the visit and time.. over 2 hours
Wonderful historical place with a lot of information over the audio guide
This is a must do when in Bath, or indeed England. It is one of those few places where musuem and historic site meet. Many attempts have been made to make history relevant and engaging, such as telling the stories of individuals that were related to the baths. And there is the fact that the place is a spectacle to behold. The kids were kept engaged by a worksheet available near the entrance.
