Great unique foods, wonderful Bloody Mary, super attentive service. Highly recommend.
Delicious burger
Cool location
The desserts are very beautiful, but they are also very sweet, with unsweetened drinks. The size of the space is good, although it is not very large, it will not make you feel crowded.
Professional.. tasty... enjoyable experience. Great to see a historical establishment still alive.
Had a fantastic interaction this afternoon when I picked up my takeaway order, the Frenchman who served me at the counter was super friendly and kind! I really appreciated his kindness, made my day !!
And OMG the food was delicious !
We grabbed some dinner here after visiting The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia since it was right across the back entrance and we wanted to try "Australian" food. Can definitely recommend the Kangaroo steak as that was expertly done. I was worried it might be too gamey bit was proven wrong by taking the chef recommendation of medium rare. The steak was supple and tender.
We also shared the tiramisu for dessert. That was just ok as it wasn't as moist as I expected - resembled a regular cake. But their cappuccino was excellent!
Overall, the place has a nice vibe, not too expensive considering the area where it's located. We sat outside since the weather was gorgeous but they also have inside booths on the first level, and tables upstairs.
Just as a caution: they have the world's smallest bathrooms. It's quite a mastery they were able to fit 2 stalls in there, each with their own tiny sinks.
Highly recommend if you're in the area.
One of the best cafe in the rocks. Staff is always courteous, friendly and prompt. Food and dessert is good.
Traditional coffee place in Sydney that you must to visit.
Great simple food! I could still taste every single flavour hours after.
My husband and I wanted to try Kangaroo while in Australia so we searched for a place that had great reviews. The Rocks Cafe was consistently mentioned so we popped in for a bite. My Kangaroo Burger was perfectly fine and tasted great. My husband s Kangaroo steak was also perfectly cooked and he enjoyed. While a rather simple meal, we were happy with our food and the service. We highly recommend.
Great service we always love to go there for their desserts!
Kangaroo burger was good but they tried to hide to meat so much it makes you wonder. Strip it back to cheese, meat and bun and it'll be vastly improved.
Very nice place. Places are popular. Culinary experience: the crocodile burger. I recommend.
Oh my god. The coffee and the cheese cake are out of this world
Smoked trout salad was absolutely delicious. Giant slices of fresh trout... yum! Really well prepared. And the lemon meringue cake was great. Lost one star because the coffee tasted like dirt.
A lovely cafe. Catering to a lot of tastes. Good was delicious. Not too long to wait and the service was great. Kids are welcome too. Highly recommended. My son loves the pasta.
It's pretty good.
The staff is also friendly
I liked it so I came for 2 days in a row
Fresh, tasty food, reasonably priced & quick service. Great place to eat.
When entering the shop to pre-order a cake was greeted by the question "its prices start from $120, would you be able to afford this?" This was really hurtful considering place with the historic name of "The Rocks". I am regretfully in writing this as I am well aware that one person does not represent all the places in Sydney. Wishing your team the best
Excellent service, very good food. Highly recommended.
The spaghetti bolognese and crab fettuccine were wonderful, as was the service and location in The Rocks!
Good service, comprehensive menu, reasonable prices and top location, what more can you ask??
Excellent place to grab a quick lunch and dessert. The food was top notch, and so was the service. Would definitely come back again.
A great place for food & coffee. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was cozy!
Lovely food, generous portions and friendly service.
Went in with my family for some after dinner dessert and tea. The tiramisu cake was AMAZING. Wonderful staff who helped us decide on the cake and were so good with our baby. Highly recommend their desserts!
Easy to get to. Friendly attentive staff and good food. Indoor and outdoor seating. Kangaroo and crocodile available. A good place to eat.
the best cafe in sydney,i know its a big call but my wife and i love this pkace
Wonderful friendly waiters and the food hit the spot
I loved it... Had a great fish and chips dish... The best ever
The mix is super hard to drink, not recommended at all, the chicken noodles are delicious, and the chicken breast is not tasty, but it is a good restaurant with good service and good seating.
Good location. Good coffee and cakes with decent service. Would be 5 star had the dessert menu been up to date and/or the waitress could give a complete list of the new available desserts that was not yet in the updated menu. Bathrooms could do with a make over or a more frequent clean/check. Some customers just don't know how to clean up after themselves!
The best smashed avocado on earth. Friendly service, crispy bacon and good coffee. Loved it!
The waitress recommended the crocodile burger as one of her favorites. It was dry and tasteless, as if it was imitation ground turkey. The service was a little slow and prices felt high.
Great coffee, felt like I was in New York. Historical vibe
Had a really yummy breakfast here, really generous portions. The staff are really lovely!
Wonderful little place with nice food and good coffee
Impossible to walk past the cakes in the window. Coffee was brilliant, order the lemon meringue pie.
Went back to enjoy the kangaroo burger and have some desserts. The restaurant has an amazing history.
Although on the pricey side, the food and service is always excellent.
I came here with two other people and we all agreed that the food was amazing. Staff was very friendly too!
Awesome pudding after watching Prince Harry open the Olympics. cheese was heavy and Rich and delicious. meringue pie Beautiful. Pastry very good. Delightful little place. Service was good. Located in The Rocks.
Neat place just behind the contemporary art museum. Their banoffee pie is made in heaven. The staff was almost too apologetic when we ordered a cake that they didn't have. Overall recommended if you are in the Rocks area.
Had dinner there last night. Nice surprise - their rissotto is yum. The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming. Staff is very polite and accommodating. Price tag is human
Bistro menu that's suprisingly good! Fresh food, great flavours and large portions. Attentive staff, good atmosphere
Stood outside during Summer Down Under Wheelchair Racing.
It's bit on the expensive side but the cheese cakes are to die for.
Nice place, good coffee, but annoying app or notification (or whatever you call it) got into my phone. Invasive annoying crap - please desist!
Food was amazing service was fantastic. Visited Sydney from the US and would go back to the cafe again
$21 for one piece of cheesecake and a cup of cappuccino... Cake was worse than the one from supermarket. Not worthy at all
Good place for a pint after stroll around The Rocks.
Nice little cafe in the Rocks. Coffee was excellent and the cafe burger I got was as expected.
Good here. I had spaghetti, gurugesta, and veggie burger. I ate on the street and the atmosphere was good.
Good service and atmosphere. Try the kangaroo burger.
Friendly waitress, nice view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge Ordered the apple crumble for $13 and an additional scoop of ice cream for $2.50. Latte was amazing too for $5. Overall a very good experience.
The most disgusting coffee I have ever tasted! The breakfast is less than average and expensive!
One of our favourites from our most recent visit to Sydney. Great service, great location and great food. 2 major pluses - a well thought out menu for kids and unlike most places in the CBD/Circular Quay area it doesn't burn a hole in my wallet.
The rock cafe is Devine, i had the avocado on toast and it was sensational. It was the best avocado and toast I have ever tried. Loved it and definelty recommend it.
Yummy food, even tho its located in a tourist area. Busy place but alof of seating upstairs.
Great menu, I went more than once and was always delighted with the food. Small but comfortable place, beautiful old fashion decor yet still casual. Service is ok. Can not disappoint.
The Rocks Cafe has a vibrant al fresco dinning expereince. Certainly a must visit when the weather is calm and cool. If one reserves a seat in advance, then that is better as seating often sold-out and waiting time starts.
I recommend their Veg Burger as the chickpeas & vegetable patty was well-done and non-greasy. Cheddar cheese slice was complementing the patty with lettuce, tomato, onion, aioli, and home made tomato & chilli jam. A flavoursome and filling meal and you can request for truffle and paremsan chips with the burger. Need I say more?
As an ardent chocoholic, I can vouch for their Chocolate Mud Cake. Decadent serving of chocolate sponge cake with a ganche filling and dark chocolate frosting is sinful. The staff is kind enough to recommend the piece to be warmed slightly and that certainly brings out the best in this dessert. A serving can be shared as the quantity is the size of your palm. However, if you wish to finish it all, then enjoy the cake :D.
The staff is lovely and takes utmost care with quick service. A must visit if you wish to indulge in burgers, decadent desserts and sitting with a view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
We had breakfast here the morning of our cruise. The food was delicious and so was the coffee. It was nice to enjoy a good cappuccino prior to boarding the ship as I suspected that we would not get good coffee during the cruise. My suspicions were correct !!! I noticed that there were many other cruise goers in this cafe doing the same thing. This is a lovely cafe with a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced.
Three words describe The Rocks Cafe, so freaking good! No matter if you're carnivore or herbivores, there is something for you. Both the kangaroo and veggie burgers are equally delicious.
Great little place with great service and a lively place to sit savour the food and watch the world and its wild go by! We had a few visits and enjoyed it renewed each time
Really nice flat white and avocado and poached egg on a toast!! Egg was perfectly done, yolk oozing out when cut.
Bread, cheese breadstick, desert and coffee are all delicious here. Can walk around the outdoor market afterward as well as the bridge and overlook the Sydney opera house.
