Friendly, fast and great food. Even gave me a free wine because they had run out of the drink I had ordered. Definitely will return.

I don't know about the food, but so far I had my second best cappuccino in Australia in this place. The blueberry cheesecake was also rather good.
Beautiful place, beautiful staff, delicious desserts! I strongly recommend!
This is my third visit to this charming little cafe. Everything that's prepared on the premises is fine. Well-cooked, presented and delicious. What lets it down is the bought-in desserts and, in particular, the lemon meringue which was loaded with sugar to the extent that the lemon flavour was totally masked, and the fact that the meringue had not been baked enough to harden it into the crunchy, melty goo that we all love.
When I pointed this out to the surly guy at the till, all he could say was that no one had complained before. This ultra-defensive attitude displays arrogance and exposes the true nature of the staff who are not really interested in customer service at all.
It was my third - and last - visit. A simple apology would have ensured that I would continue to return.
Nice staff consumables decent but $12 for one piece of cake!!!??
Amazing for quick breakfast also on the go! Loved the halloumi sandwich and the coffee! Take the food and sit outside at the Harbour under the lovely Sunshine!
Coincidently walked into this place. Nice food, friendly people. Tasty.
A wonderful place to visit. Meals are most enjoyable.
Has become a bit of a tourist trap although still a popular spot for locals. Nice place to sit around for a coffee on a warm Sunday afternoon.
While in Australia my fiance and I wanted to try some local and exotic proteins and stopped by the Rocks Cafe to try their kangaroo steak and gator burger. The outdoor seating was perfect for the time of year and even though we were having a late dinner, 830PM, the servers were extremely prompt and very friendly. The food was fresh and came out quickly. It was all really delicious and fairly priced. They also offer a pretty extensive cake/dessert option which we had to take to go since the portion sizes for dinner are quite generous. I would highly recommend stopping by the Rocks cafe for a meal or just for a piece of dessert and some coffee.
The place had good reviews so I decided to go there for breakfast. The food was good, but not great or anything. More importantly the service was not very good at all. It wasn t terrible, no one was rude or anything but the staff seemed a little lazy and slow. It wasn t busy at the time I went there but once we where seated it took ages for our server to come to our table and take our order. The prices are what you would expect for that area of the city, but considering the poor service I don t think I would eat there again. However I don t think this is a bad place, I just didn t have a good experience there, witch seems to be an outlier.
Great service, a little pricey but hey it's in the rocks main street.
The food was very good. It's a great place to go if you're out walking in the Rocks district.
Always a good city breakfast stop. Great long black coffees and a good breakfast.
Very pleasant place for a coffee or breakfast on the streets in the Rocks area. Pleasant service in a quieter spot
I don't know why it's famous
The price is also high, and it has distinct characteristics
It doesn't even taste
Delicious food.
The garlic bread is a must.
I had grilled rump and my wife had grilled kangaroo. Both were amazing.
Awesome staff. The friendliest I met in Sydney.
Been to the Rocks Cafe for over 3 years and still visit with friends or family for dinner. It's always had excellent service, attentive waiters and great meals. They have a variety of gluten free options so I can take my Mum along who is coeliac. I recommend this place to my friends and anyone who is visiting the Rocks for the first time. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and make sure you are looked after. They also have a nice selection of drinks and never had an off night here so I will continue to visit whenever I am nearby or want a nice outdoor dinner. Also eaten inside and it's very cozy and intimate. What more could you ask for? Oh and prices are always fine for the area. Thanks to the team and look forward to going again! xxx
The mushroom risotto here and the cake we ate at the dessert were really delicious
Coffee also makes a great cake
If you have lunch in Sydney, please be sure to follow this cafe
Great quaint little eatery, although there is an upstairs to the cafe/restaurant. Food exquisite, particularly the pasta options, which where my palate was seeking. Wonderful beverage choices too. I understand that the coffee was good as my hot chocolate was just what is needed for a mid-winter warmer. Very well worth a visit.
Had a lovely breakfast of Avocado Toast and orange juice. Finished it off by sharing a strawberry topped piece of cheesecake that was to die for. Great service and food!
We ordered the classic burger and tiramisu.. both were fantastic. The tiramisu have a nice twist to it. Great place to relax.. yes would recommend and back to try other stuff on the menu.
Perfect!!
Small cosy place with outside seating and upstair seating, remembers me like a bistro in Paris...
Small but remarkable menu with Australian specialities AND a great courteous table service.
The only thing we missed was a nice Ramazotti or a Grappa with your espresso, just to finish a great meal
Good food. Reasonable prices. One of the best places for crocodile meat.
We had a good breakfast, good location, friendly staff.
One of our favorite meals in Sydney. Casual, fun, and a great seat outside. We had just finished the Bridge Climb, and this was the perfect spot for a kangaroo burger and a pint.
Great cafe for morning coffee and brunch. Great selection of brunch options, bakery, and coffee. Great ambient and service.
Delicious pancakes for breakfast!
Omelette, toast also first class.
Very nice service.
There is nothing to find fault with :)
I would recommend.
Too expensive and not good value. The food presented poorly
I ordered fish & chips and the rocks cafe beef burger via doordash.
They charge a service fee excluding the delivery fee. Good thing I had a $5 discount.
Going back, fish & chips are crunchy which I like. The burger is nice too. Juicy meat but I guess there were less vegie in there. Otherwise, not too bad
Liked breakfast so much we went back for a late lunch , great food both times, well priced
Attractive decoration from the 80s. Their tap beer and pale ale is perfect for your thirst.
Great cakes, tiramasu and apple crumble are to die for, great service and coffee
Great variety of food, great service. A terrific place to go!
Super friendly staff, great food at really good prices , cozy atmosphere and so convenient to the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
Kangaroo and Emu pizza, beer, and chips after a quick walk around the area. I always recommend this experience to friends.
My partner went out on an early morning coffee run this morning, and absolutely nothing was open. A staff member at this cafe saw him wandering and asked what he was after. He said a couple of cups of coffee, and even though the cafe wasn t yet open she happily served him coffee. What a legend! And bonus, the coffee is awesome.
Thanks so much - we really really appreciate you going above and beyond.
Food was simple and fine. Overpriced for what it is but location costs, right? Bumping a star as the mojito was quite bad here.
Found this little gem in the rocks with a Google search great location in Sydney under the shadows of the harbour bridge. The building was awesome genuine old building fatingvback a few years and the food was excellent
The staff were very friendly and the coffee was nice. They were one of very few cafes open on New Year's Eve.
Very classic and reliable cafe in the beautiful rocks area! We enjoyed our drinks and food for breakfast. It was great to have great scramble eggs that was dairy free for me!
The coffee was also excellent, smooth and delicious.
The staff were lovely and very good at keeping to COVID guidelines.
The only piece of feedback would be the have better gluten free bread.
Very good coffee, but the star, THAT bacon. Wow. Top marks.
his cafe is incredible. The coffee is great! The artwork on the walls is beautiful and tells a story of the cafe as well as the city. The food is incredible and the service was beyond excellent. If you are in The Rocks area, I would highly recommend stopping in to try the food. Finally, you must try some of the desserts here!!! I had the Chocolate cake (warmed) with a side of vanilla bean ice cream and left very happy!
Went to this restaurant about 8 months ago. It s a decent enough restaurant but they got a few of my orders wrong. The nacho s I had some capsicum sort of sauce in it and it didn t taste like nachos anymore. Can be busy sometimes especially on the weekend and if you re on the top floor you ll often here trains rumbling over the roof quite frequently which can be loud.
Getting harder to find a quality latte these days. But not here. The coffee was excellent and the cake complemented this as well.
A nice little view of the coat hanger can be seen with sorted flowers bringing colour to the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful with gluten free options. This has now been saved to my every time in Sydney list.
The Rocks Cafe is an absolutely charming place to sit for a light meal or drinks in the Rocks by Circular Quay. For me, the reason to come to this cafe is for the crocodile burger and the kangaroo burger--both exotic, both delicious! The kangaroo burger was quite lean and was nicely complemented by the cheddar cheese, beetroot relish, and other veggies on a soft, fluffy brioche bun with garlic aioli. However, I actually slightly preferred the crocodile burger, which was complemented nicely with the texture of cooked celery in the patty, along with watercress, tomato, and the garlic aioli. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and something about the aroma and texture of the crocodile patty just spoke out to me! On the side, I had the very crispy fries along with the rocket & pear salad, dressed with parmesan and balsamic vinegar--the freshness and flavor of the salad were simply spot on! The prices here may be relatively high, but they're worth it for the quality of food and execution!
We ate here twice this week. First night we had several small plates - calamari, bruschetta and caprese salad - all were flavorful and good. Had the chocolate cream pie for dessert and it was outstanding. We came back the next day just for the lemon meringue pie which was also outstanding. Great service both times from very friendly wait staff. Very nice sidewalk seating.
Old school famous rocks low key Italian style restaurant... It's great.. Actually makes a brilliant spaghetti bolognese... Which is a litmus test as most restaurants are hopeless at this simple dish.. Staff are very polite and friendly.... Its a must.. Ideal bite prior to a boggie at the orient Hotel
Chose this restaurant on a whim, needing some food after visiting the opera house and wanted to avoid the busy harbour.
Great food, attentive service, and we thought the prices were very reasonable! Would recommend.
Had lunch there today shepherds pie. Very tasty and about right for lunch. Price a bit high but the location is great. Staff seem well trained and efficient although it was not busy at 2.00 pm.
A grwat cosy atmosphere with a good selection of Gluten Free options. The staff were very knowledgeable on the Coeliac condition. The Ceasar salad and breaky options are very filling with some of the best GF bread that we have ever had. Good Job guys!
Very good coffee, desserts, cakes are wonderful, attention, impeccable.
My favorite place to eat at The Rocks. Food is amazing, staff super friendly, terrific desserts. The kangaroo dinner is a must, when served per the chefs recommendation, it is super tender and lean. I eat vegetarian most of the year, except for the 2-3 times per year that I come to Australia and visit The Rocks Cafe.
Lovely food and coffee is a cozy warm surround. Great views from The Rocks outside. Located just a short walk from Circular Quay and the International Cruise Terminal as well!!! Food was cooked well (we had breakfast) and there was gluten free options for our son which we appreciated. Coffee wasn t too shabby either!!! Well worth a lookin!!!
Visited multiple times to try different dishes and meals. The staff was super friendly and the food was great! My wife and I loved the crocodile burgers and the cheese cake was wonderful.
Best food I don't think that anyone can top their ice cream
Great...Best eggs Benedict/Florentine in the rocks. Stop here for breakfast.
Only had dessert but i had the lemon meringue pie and meringue stack. I love meringue but the stack was a big disappointment, this place the desserts look better than they taste but its saving grace was indeed the lemon meringue pie which was very nice, not exceptional.
Tried kangaroo burger for the first time and it was great! The bun was a little too dry and the patty too but whole thing together was great!
Very nice restaurant near The Rocks. Great staff and tasty food. We had the Kangaroo fillet which was cooked great and crab fettuccine that was on special.
Really enjoy the atmosphere in this cafe, nice food nice people. Staffs always ask about our experience and feedback for them to improve. Feel comfortable here chatting with friends and reading.
Lovely breakfast.
Super sized fruit salad with a beautiful yoghurt.
My hubby had the big breakfast, delicious.
Lovely staff, very attentive even though we sat outside.
Might need to go back to try the massive lemon meringue pie! Its a whopper!
Highly recommend. Nice soup and food. Great service.
Very nice staff everywhere from the waiter to the gentleman cashier. Tried the kangaroo and croc burger.
Only went there to get iced coffee. Service is amazing !!! The staff are very attentive, friendly and make you feel very comfortable and welcomed. 5 Stars for the excellent service!
Good food, great location, wonderful opportunity to watch the passerby s. On street, inside or upstairs dining. Lovely food, some great Aussie classics with a nice drop of fusion. A decent wine list. Healthy portions, lovely staff and a fair price for what you expect for inner city dining of this level.
Great location for a stroll after lunch or dinner.
