Excellent service and excellent food! My husband and I are visiting from California. We're staying in The Rocks area neighborhood. Decided to eat here because it was close to our hotel. I have an onion allergy. The staff went out of there way to prepare a spaghetti dish without onions. Once our meal was served, the staff made sure to tell me my husband's dish had onions, so I should not take a taste.! He had the fish special, he said was delicious!
Heck yah! The place was dead. Server woke up after a few chats. And she was lovely. But the kangaroooooo. Cozy sweet and yummy. Really a shame they weren t busier. Go?!
Great coffee, delicious food, fantastic location. Overpriced, but unsurprising, given its location. We had a friendly waitress.
Cute restaurant with great food and friendly service! Didn't get to try the desserts, but I definitely have intentions when I return! They looked amazing!
Great location, friendly staff, and exceptional coffee and brunch menu. 5/5 would recommend!
The day is hot and I pass by, I have a glass of beer, the location is good and the staff are friendly.
Great place, great food. Came back after 7 years, and the crocodile burgers were as good as we remembered!
Walked around at the Rock area, saw very irresistible cakes on display, so i decided to come and have some dessert and coffee. Piccolo to start with, it was great! Black Forest individuate cake, hmmm... not to my liking, too much cream, not enough sponge cake layer, and it s kinda dry . This cake was missing a punch! Even though it is garnished with glazed cherries, nit enough sour cherry flavour in the cake it self.
Delicious Kangaroo and Crocodile burgers, pricy but good quality.
A little less than a 4 star, only because all the food we tried lacked seasoning. But they tasted great though.
Food good. Didn't like the surcharge for Saturday night. Most surcharges are only on Sundays
Great spot for breakfast, good menu, seating and friendly staff
The food was great so was the service. Prices are moderate but that goes with where this cafe is. Highly recommended.
Arrived in Sydney late on a Friday night. These guys were closing up but were happy to let us come in and have a meal. I ordered their gnocchi. It was the best I have ever tasted. Absolutely divine. Would 100% recommend
I went to this cafe for dinner with my mum tonight and we had the best fish and chips we have ever had!! I love fish and chips but this cafe had by far the best! Then we had the tirrimasu and mango cheesecake which were also slices of perfection!!! Would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone nearby or looking for true quality food!!
Food and drinks were phenomenal and the service was excellent
Awesome drinks (had coffees and chai latte) , pricey but above average food (try mortal sin for dessert ) , good service. A little minus for the professional but angry - faced female manager (??) . Felt a little weird to be smiled at with such angry expression at the same time.
Okay cozy cafe in the Rock with mostly Italian menu. Very good staff.
The kangaroo burger was nicely done and delicious! Customer service was great. The cafe is located at the edge of The Rocks and has a lovely alfresco dining area. Great place to relax and chill over a meal or drink.
The food was nice, but the service terrible, the host that give us our table and pay the bill was as rude as possible
Absolutely incredible. Very interesting and educational. The volunteers are doing an top job.
Nice Cafe. Especially if you are a tourist, who wants to try a crocodile or kangaroo burger.
We had sirloin, beef bourguignon, fish & chips and 2 childrens' meals spaghetti bolognase and cheeseburger & fries. Steak was exceptional with a good texture and char and a gorgeous aged 'blue-cheesy' aroma. It was served on a bed of waxy potatoes and halved Brussels sprouts and topped with a poached or roasted shallot and veal demiglaze. Beef bourguignon was served with a satisfying cap of puff pastry and a quenelle of potato mash enriched, possibly, with egg yolk or cheese. Fish and chips was textbook and generous - in fact all the dishes were quite large - not the least of which were the children's dishes. We finished with the tallest lemon meringue pie I'd ever seen and a perfectly wobbly blueberry cheesecake. Bill came to $50/head including soft drinks.
In the evening there is a nice outdoor atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a good piece of cake with friends! Nice place very close to the city center!
An updated timeless design with great service and food.
Fantastic little restaurant right by the harbour front. They offer celiac friendly food, as I have celiac disease and I did not feel sick after eating there. The food is very good and reasonably priced for what you get. I went to eat here everyday for breakfast and once for dinner. It's a old spot in Sydney and has some history in the building. I had the avocado on toast, mushroom toast and the kangaroo fillet. I would reccomend this place 100%
A very friendly greeting on arrival, great breakfast menu & great coffee.
Coffee is honestly the best in Sydney Smooth and robust. Service is outstanding as I felt my needs were met and catered to Menu has a friendly range and excellent prices Food was exquisitely impressive as it allowed the simple ingredients to be pronounced with punchy flavours and aromas Thanks
Very good experience. Waiter was kind and the cake was yum. Friendly service, delicious dim sum and good atmosphere.
Simply superb cafe in the middle of the Rocks area.
This place is fantastic, the coffee is great and the food sensational. Our service from Carla the waitress was very impressive. Highly recommend..
I booked in here for a birthday lunch upstairs. First off they offered us the specials on the board but then when we asked they said they would take half an hour so I ordered something else which took 40 minutes anyway. The food itself wasn't anything nice and for the price I was paying it was unacceptable. Next time I would rather book into a craft beer Cafe.
Kangaroo burger was 7/10, would have enjoyed a bit more flavor cooked into the meat. Calamari was 9/10. That light fry. delicious. Solid spot for a meal in the Quay, and the service is amazing! Recommended.
Few options for vegeterians, veggie meals are small
Simple but well cooked food. Crocodile burger was a hit.
This is a great place to hang out with friends. I enjoyed their burger meal & the aromatic coffee. My girlfriend and I comes here monthly as she enjoys the variety of cakes & has craving especially for their cheese cake. Looking forward to our next visit!
Food was great as usual. Waitress isn't very helpful
Delicious food and such a cute little cafe, definitely recommend
Usually a great place to dine but with Covid all is quiet with limited menu.
Delicious. Have a crocodile burger and a banoffee pie slice ! My favorite !
The food is delicious and the service staff is kind
It was an excellent oasis, a haven from a hot Sydney summers day. The coffee was very good, but I really wouldn't recommend the omelette. I would presume that it is an authentic Italian style but regardless of that it was basically foul. It was overcooked, dry, the salmon may have been from a tin. Breakfast finishes at 11:30am but lunch doesn't start until 12 so my timing was sub-optimal. Perhaps the other food is better, but not really sure I am prepared to find out.
The Rocks Cafe rocks! It is conveniently located in the heart of the rocks, with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating (check out the tables upstairs), the atmosphere is welcoming and cosy, the waitstaff very friendly. I tried afternoon tea with cake - very rich cakes but great, and dinner. My kangaroo was a bit too well-done for my liking (I wasn't asked how I would like them to serve it) but apart from that absolutely gorgeous. The only negative points are that their prices are too high compared to what you are actually getting. But I get it - it's the location.
Very welcoming staff and delicious avocado toast - thought about coming here for every breakfast after my first
Delicious meal and beautiful wine. Excellent staff, a relaxed atmosphere.
I walked past here and then stopped with family just to get a drink, but I absolutely couldn't stop myself from ordering the huge lemon meringue pie! I would go there again just for some more of that, the meringue was so TALL! Everything about this place was lovely and they were very accommodating too!
Just found this after bridge climb , mazing coffee, food to die for.
Great place for breakfast. Surrounded by history and food and service fantastic.
A lovely old cafe in the heart of the rocks. Great service, wonderful food.
Went there for lunch today and the food was great. Service was a bit low which was why I didn t give a 5 star rating
Beautiful food, great staff and some of the best coffee I have ever had.
The best breakfast I have had in a long time. Well done.
Great food and ambience, friendly staff , great place to enjoy romantic dinner. Dessert was awesome.
Excellent food and desserts. Definitely coming back for the meringue lemon pie!
Nice location- Nice interior but average service. Paying premium for coffee is understandable but not when served lukewarm and no smile.
Staff were extremely rude and dismissive, service was rushed and careless (we weren't even given water), even the coffee was average for $5... Won't be back unfortunately.
hambuger, spagetti, so good. stake is so so. lunch time best.
Stopped here for a late breakfast after a long walk. Nice place to stop and great coffee!! Staff were really helpful.
Very nice food and service. A bit on expensive side but worth it.
Delcious eggs and salmon, perfect hot coffee. A great start to our morning in Sydney.
Nice coffee, fresh croissants, quirky old school staircase to upstairs cafe
Delightful , intimate cafe in the heart of The Rocks. Great service from the young and attentive staff. Charming personalities all. Food was flawless and the red wine pie was the best ive ever eaten. I was with good company and the cafe topped the day off for us. Thank you.
I just like this place! Everything Ive tried so far is so tasty
Super friendly and welcoming wait staff were more than happy to find us a table right on George Street even though we only wanted coffee. Their excellent coffee was creamy and had a great crema making it really tasty. Great venue for coffee and cake or a romantic meal. Very popular with locals and tourists alike and not too expensive.
Great food and excellent service, we will definitely be back
Very convenient right on George street. Breakfast toast and a latte on the sidewalk tables is great!
super friendly place in The Rocks. Walked in here while wandering around and was pleasantly surprised. Had cosy corner table by fire place. Food is priced as you'd expect in this neighborhood but it was delicious and fresh.
