Nice place close to Union Square Located up hill, might take a little more effort to walk up hill but it is peaceful

What you come to expect with a Ritz. Little small on the rooms but hey what do you expect. Makeup eraser meetings were nice.

Not what is expected from the Ritz-Carlton. Nice lounge but very dated rooms which had many minor problems. Bathroom fan did not work. Old TV and very bad lighting with the exception of headboard lamps which had built in reading lamps. Very rude staff and very persistant with getting tipped. I don't mind tipping just not when u fish for it. Very turned off and the price for the room is a bit high for the quality.

Good location. Inconsistent service from staff. Some days they are great, other days.....meh

I really loved the quality treatment of the staff especially since I was not an overnight guest.

I didn't stay there but was given a voucher by my wine club for a free wine tasting. The ambiance exudes elegance. If you stay, please visit the tasting room in the lobby. It's amazing.

As nice as you would expect from a Ritz. Decadent rooms and pristine bathrooms. What really stands out however is the service. From offering a free wine tasting since the specific room they had as booked for wasn't ready (they gave us another room of the exact same type), to putting out an ice bucket because we had a bottle of wine in the room, it was above and beyond. It's the little things that elevate "good" to "great".

A hotel that stays at least once a year for work. The atmosphere is very calm and very beautiful. The room is large enough.

Welcoming staff, comfortable well appointed rooms with everything you would want or need.

Rooms are spacious. Because I have the Golden member, they upgraded me to better option.
Service and concierge are outstanding

The hotel is very fancy so if you are going their dress up and bring some cash to tip hotel people with for example: helping you get your bags to your room, cleaning your hotel room, getting your bags out of the car, etc.

being ambassador elite our check in request for 1pm is neglected. We reached at 3pm and waited to check in. Then lounge access is not given as it is full. What means to be starts at Marriott and ritz carlton? Disappointed for us.
Coming after 2 hour drive and wait to check in and no lounge access. I like at Westin or Marriott marquis over this

AMAZING! I recently visited San Francisco on business and stayed here. My view was amazing and their Sunday Brunch is unbelievable. They had everything and anything someone could ever want.

So beautiful. We met a friend for drinks. The chips they serve for snacks were so yummy.

Always a comfortable home away from home. The concierge is phenomenal, the restaurants and room service, divine. The staff is extremely welcoming and professional, without being pretentious or snooty. Convenient and close to shopping, marina, Union Square, Nob Hill, and financial district. We love this place and have been returning fro decades. Much of the original staff is still here, along with some newer ones who have maintained that exceptional tradition.

Ugh. Take me back! Beautiful location, beautiful room and HUGE too. I was amazed at how big our room was for being right in the city. Great drinks and food. Go here, you'll love it.

Nice upscale hotel. Typical Ritz Carlton. Good service. Traditional decor. The club lounge has good food and wine and cocktails. The rooms are old world elegant. Convenient location to walk to Union Square or the financial district.

Very nice hotel! Fantastic service. The fitness center and locker rooms are awesome! Very clean and good looking guestrooms.

Eyond excellent service at the Club Level on 8th floor

Naturally it s location is terrific . I live just three blocks away. This is definitely a top notch hotel next to fairmont

Stayed here on a 3 night trip for business. Not a single thing that wasnt a full 10 out of 10!

The best experience here very attentive staff and clean environment.

Stayed for a second time at this hotel and it doesn't disappoint. It just gets better and keeps wowing! If you can, upgrade to the club level. Great food and incredibly friendly staff. Not to mention, good views of the city from any side.

I attend the Hope Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco. The event was beautiful and elegant. Service was top-notch.

Attending a wedding in the courtyard in a tent and a reception in the ballroom. Very elegant. It was 32 for valet parking all day for the event.

This place is immaculate. If you want convenience, beauty, and luxury then stay here. You can walk to the attractions and if you arent up for walking, just use one of the many courtesy cars. There are 11 of us and everyone slept extremely well in the comfortable beds and quiet rooms . The service is amazing, my 11 yr old nephew loved being called "sir" and "mr". You wont regret choosing this Ritz.

Every year our office Christmas party is in the tent behind the hotel. It's gorgeously decorated, heated and the food is great! Fun night!

I ve never stayed here, but have spent many an evening/night at the hotel bar. Great spot, quite expensive, but really yummy drinks and snacks. A good hotel bar for gathering after work or who knows, maybe a date!

The first room was small but we were able to switch to a bigger one with little hassle. It was clean and we'll lit.

the room was super nice, the best was extra comfortable the basic bathroom was nice the its pricey but its a Ritz and its San Fran [food menu was so overly priced and in san fran you can find way better food walking distance for half the price]

Gorgeous property. Spent most of my time at the lobby bar and restaurant bar. Great service. Fairly expensive, but nice spot to treat yourself.

Top-notch location for a spot of high tea at noon. Try to attend when the harp player is present.

One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The room was nicely furnished and clean. Great location.

The Ritz is pretty cool, but expect a $12 bowl of oatmeal. Super comfy bed and blackout curtains. Our room had an ok view of the street and since the hotel is nearly at the highest point in the surrounding area, the views are great within a short walk. Bar and wine area was nice and they have adjacent kids area that has new movies.

Very nice and clean hotel, room was clean and smells quite nice, nice modern design, staffs are friendly, close proximity to indonesian restaurant -the borobudur-, walking distance to union square and china town...

Staff was absolutely the nicest people we have ever met in the hotel industry...room quiet and very clean! One of our best experiences in the bay area!

I am in heaven with this place but the reason why I give this hotel a 4 star because it is sort of old-fashioned. However I like everything else rather from the old-fashioned stuff. If it was a bit more modern maybe I will give it 5 stars. But for now let s say I give this place a 4 star.

Excellent facility, location and personnel. Greeted warmly every time I returned to the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet location but its proximity to the stairs puts you in the center of town in 2 minutes.

I want to try to use their room next time. But the meeting and other atmosphere was good

I dont understand how a ritz carlton can charge 370$ after tax for one night, and not offer free wifi??? What year is it??? The room is nice and the staff is all polite and helpful. So at least that was good.

I really liked the Ritz Carlton and would look forward to staying here again. The location is amazing, being right in between Chinatown and Union Square area, within a short distance from the Financial District. It is on top of a hill that can be tiring to walk up, but that's the nature of the city.

The service here is amazing. The facilities and rooms are clean. There is no pool. But the gym is pretty nice.

Overall it is a very nice hotel. My only complaint is that for a luxury hotel at luxury prices, there was nothing that made it stand out. It is hard to justify the high price for the good, but not mindblowing experience. Still, I would stay here again.

Ritz Carlton is very nice and it has good food, but I have little comment about the receptionist, she did not exceed my expectation at all. Hope that they will train them how to treat the client.

Excellent service but needs more of a refresh. It's classic SF.

The Lobby Bar is a delightful place to park and quaff. Wonderful service and delicious menu for small plates or hearty snacks. WE spent a couple of hours and many dollars waiting for friends. The High Tea has been a fav spot for many years.

Was not satisfied with this stay. Facility was very nice, but had multiple issues with the staff. There were problems with getting my luggage into my room. Valet parking took 20+ minutes to get my car. I called the front desk to confirm my late checkout. She gave me an attitude telling me it was not a thing . 10 minutes later she calls me again saying she didn t realize my status and that I was guaranteed a late checkout . Certainly not an experience I would expect from a Ritz Carlton. Should have stayed somewhere else.

The Doormen have consistently been some of the Best on Nob Hill and in San Fran for decades. Friendly and Efficient! The Concierge desk is the Best on Nob Hill for decades, but could be better. Every Guest is Unique. And that's a Big Challenge!

After some good experiences at other Ritz-Carltons I wanted to give the San Francisco one a try. We booked a regular club room and the room was clean, well designed and very comfortable in every way. The staff from check in, to the club lounge, to the doormen were friendly and happy to help. The service was exactly what I'd expect from a Ritz-Carlton. I see no reason we wouldn't be here again next time we're in San Francisco.

Found a spider in my first room! Found the smoke detector was covered in plastic in second room. Didn t bother asking for a third room. The Hotel s Managment won t even return my calls or emails about poor experience. NOT THE RITZ EXPERIENCE.

The service was phenomenal across the board. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel.
