The Ritz will deliver exactly what you expect.

The Ritz will deliver exactly what you expect.
Service will be timely and polite. The drinks will be traditional and well made and the food will be unchallenging, good and expensive.
The Ritz provides an experience that your parents would recognize and enjoy.
This is a Chicago staple, they will not disappoint or suprise. Enjoy it for what it is or venture out and sample the wide variety of other options Chicago offers.

The Ritz Carlton Chicago is in a prime location for visiting the city, a block off of the Magnificent Mile and connected to the water tower place. The Hancock Center is right next door and you are steps to the lake. If you have children (the will offer you a complimentary crib on check-in!) the park next door is one of my favorites in the city.

The interior was renovated in 2017 and features an incredible art deco lobby. The staff is incredibly helpful, in a very noticeable way in this day and age, everyone you meet will offer to exceed your expectations.

Not every guest room has received an upgrade yet, so ask the desk if you can have a renovated room when you check in.

I attened The Frank Sinatra 100th birthday party dinner last year and stayed at the hotel. I had the valet park my car. When my car was returned to me in the morning there was a large door ding on the drivers side. They made note of it and said that they would take care of it. When asked to complete a survey I pointed this out. I was again notified that they took responsility and would pay for the damages. After several weeks had passed I called the manager and advised him of the lack of follow up. He advised me that he would take care of the situation to my satisfaction. That was two weeks ago and I have heard nothing. The hotel was fine but their word means nothing.

Great hotel at the north end of the Mag Mile. Easy to find, tons of shops and restaurants around and the same amazing service and quality that you can expect from a Ritz-Carlton. The room my wife and I were assigned was amazing! Even though it was winter, the view of Lake Michigan was still great! I would definitely come back!

I only wish I could remember the fabulous young lady who was working at the front desk! I hope I have the correct name, Amy? 6:15pm 10/30
Management please compliment her!
Maybe a raise or promotion!

We were lucky enough to pick the Ritz-Carlton Chicago as our location for my daughters surprise micro-wedding. What an amazing experience! We worked closely with Jordan Cofer, the CaterIng Sales Manager. She was a dream to work with throughout the planning! We cannot say enough about her determination to provide us with the best wedding day we could imagine- she was priceless! Wedding planning during COVID is a little impersonal, but not at the Ritz. She provided us with such thoughtful and personalize care throughout our time working with her. Every detail was attended to... most without me asking or even realizing I needed. All the little thoughtful touches are what make the day special and we had MANY! The food was A-MAZING! All our guests raved about the beautiful dishes that were served throughout the evening. And with some guests special needs the chefs went above and beyond to accommodate them without skimping on quality and taste! The spa staff was fantastic and made my daughter feel pampered throughout her stay. And the hotel staff was outstanding! We cannot thank them all for going above and beyond for us. Special thanks to Francisco and Rudy for your constant care of us throughout our stay. What a A++++ experience we had throughout our wedding weekend! We can t wait to stay with you again and highly recommend if any one is planning an event to contact the Ritz-Carlton Chicago...where your every need will be met and MORE!

Very rude and condescending gentleman who was in charge of seating tonight in the Lakeside Room. We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always had wonderful service. Very surprised the hotel is allowing such rude behavior to guests.

Just was visiting my sister who was staying at this hotel - we were at the bar for drinks. The staff was extremely attentive and seemed to know exactly when we wanted to order another drink vs just wanted to be left alone and talk.

Enjoyed an event here. Plenty of room for the silent auction and guests to look and mingle. The bar was well staffed so there was essentially no wait for drinks. Dinner was a Filet Mignon which was delicious.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Ou office made reservations requesting the least expensive rate, and I ended up in the MOST expensive room with an American Girl Package? On arrival I disclosed my discomfort with the check in person, which gave me no attention and dismissed my concern. I then called the manager from the room when on top of everything I found out that the room had an American Girl Package. Which they said they would come up to remove all the gadgets, and during the two day stay they never did. I ended up with a room I did not request, had no feedback and will never go back. This is by far the nicest hotel I've ever been to in Chicago. Great views of the city as well as the lake. The accommodations and staff are amazing! Truly second to none. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great Place to stay!

Such a huge disappointment from my last experience here. Not only was the 2 bedroom suite filthy but nothing they said came through. The concierge couldn't ship the way they said they could, the front desk couldn't bill they way they said they could and nobody in the restaurant moved beyond a crawl. For someone having two suites for a week, one of which is the best in the house, one would think they'd at lease clean and follow through with commitments. Avoid!

Clean, quiet, luxurious! We stayed on the 18th floor overnight during the summer. Our window faced South with great views of Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. Soft beds, his/her sinks in bath, and a very comfortable room.
I think the tub was too deep to step in and out of for a shower - almost 24". Its nice if you wanted a bath, but who really takes hotel baths?

Would definitly stay here again!

This is a lovely property. All the things I normally complain about in hotels, they have it covered. Multiple upright bikes in the gym. TRX! Not a Keurig. Black tea that isn't Earl Grey. Real stone and marble. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Convenient location, short walk from the Red line.

Considering this is one of the finest hotels in the downtown Chicago area, as expected everything was perfect! I do have to highlight the restaurant Torali. Always outstanding service from our favorite wait staff member Ahmed. I highly recommend sitting in his section.

Just checked in and so incredibly disappointed. If you want to waste your money, stay here. Otherwise, consider the Waldorf Astoria, where for the same money, you can have a spa with hot tubs in the locker rooms, a room with a fireplace and a balcony, free breakfast and AmEx points through the fine hotels and resorts program. The way this brand treats the Marriott Bonvoy elite members is making me switch to Hilton for all of my hotel needs.

Also, be mindful that the lobby is on the 12th floor and you will need to use two separate elevators to get between the street and your room. Serious nuisance that slows you down for an extra couple of minutes every time you go in or out.

Car Rental: They have a partnership with Enterprise but when I went to rent a car, it turns out they didn't actually have any cars on reserve and were not able to provide one with under a two hour wait...

Room Service: So I ordered room service at 11:02pm. The normal food menu had an 11:00 p.m. cut off so I was forced to order from the late night menu. Fine. I ordered the cheeseburger. Got a call 5 minutes later than they had no buns.

Parking: I did finally get a rental car on my own by taking an Uber to the airport (which was at least an hour faster than waiting for the concierge to arrange one). When I brought it back to park I noticed that the building had two garage entrances. The public self-serve entrance where you could park for up to 24 hours for $50 and which had a perfectly nice elevator right up to the water tower lobby, giving you access to the hotel without having to actually go onto a street, the hotel entrance to the parking garage wanted $76 for 6 hours. That's 26 extra dollars for pulling up to the other entrance.

If you enjoy being gouged just so you can say you stayed at this brand name, have fun. For the rest of us, there are much better options in this city. I don't mind spending money for a luxurious experience. This place is not such an experience.

I would not recommend the hotel. The service at the front desk is horrible. The front desk manager, Kanika, lied directly to our face. We are gold members and 2pm checkout is a benefit subject to availability. She said that 12:30 was the latest checkout we could have and said they were not giving late checkouts to anyone and they were making an exception to us because we had requested before we arrived. She made a big deal that not even ambassador level would get a late checkout. I also checked online and they had our room type available that night for sale. Our friend who does not have status called down after us and got a late checkout at 12:30. Kanika was rude through out the entire process and did not tell us truth.
I had also sent the hotel notes via the wecare at Ritzcarlton Carlton email address and facebook messenger before we arrived and never heard back from the hotel.

The Ritz Carlton is just stunning from the moment your off the elevator. The new 100 million dollar renovation is fabulous! The cocktails have there own jazzed up taste and the appetizers leave you wanting more.

Perfect hotel! I come down to Chicago three or four times a year for business, and I always enjoy staying here. The service from the employees is fantastic, and I can't say enough about the rooftop bar, best of all, the rooms are great sized!

I haven't been here in ages but the drive in entrance looks just about the same as it did 20+ years ago. The hotel lobby though is another story! It is amazing what they have done with the decor and adding a lounge area. I was welcomed to a live band playing as I walked up to the unfamiliar bar with familiar faces. Service was exceptional and the lobby/bar/lounge is gorgeous!

Still the gold standard when it comes to luxury hotels. There may be newer ones out there, but there's that feeling of experience, cloaked in elegance that the Ritz always has. The staff is a little nicer, the sheets are a little softer and the every bathroom is a mini SPA. When you step out the front door and look in every direction, you'll see Chicago at its' best.

Great place to stay, clean, amazing views and they gonna treat you as VIP, but you will pay as VIP also, just if your room facing the children hospital, you will miss the sleeping because the ambulance horn is what you gonna hear all night

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Chicago. The front desk staff were very nice and quick to help me with providing me my room keys and even gave me a free small box of Frango Mint Chocolate candies as a perk for being a Marriott Rewards Gold Member. The hotel has a very lovely, posh interior and exterior design and the elevators look like they are almost entirely made out of gold. My Lake View room had a very beautiful view of Lake Michigan, even though it was partially obstructed by other high rise buildings in the way. I guess this is perfectly understandable; however, since I only paid for the price of the Lake View Room, which only costed somewhere around $435 per night and not the Lakeside Suite, which costed around $1,000 to $2,000 per night, which is well above what I was willing to spend per night. Our room; however, was very modernized and was very spacious. The free premium high speed internet we got as Marriott Gold Members was very nice. The Ritz Carlton Fitness Center/ Club was very nice, modernized, and posh. It had its exercise machines and treadmills facing the unobstructed, crystal clear view of Lake Michigan as well as the Navy Pier shoreline. There is also a dedicated yoga room as well with yoga mats and medicine balls. There are also dedicated fitness classes and yoga classes for those interested in taking them, which my family unfortunately did not have time to do due to our busy conference schedule. There is also a lovely pool in the room right next to the Ritz Carlton Fitness Center/Club, as well as a nice Spa. Luckily, my mom and I did get access to the Ritz Carlton Club Lounge using our J.P. Morgan Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite Credit Card Club Level Upgrade Certificates, where we got all sorts of delicious snacks and treats. The concierge there was extremely friendly and provided us indivdualized service.
