Ate dinner at Torali and the service, ambiance and of course the food was absolutely amazing.
Great guest serves. Beautiful views. Wonderful location.
Despite being partly under construction (which was fully-disclosed beforehand) still managed to make a pleasant and complete experience.
Beautiful aesthetic, accommodating staff, food was "eh" but the drinks made up for it.
The food does not look appetizing from the pics online and it was difficult finding something worth tasting. Eventually I decided on a pasta dish which surprised me and was quite tasty.
Wonderful location, exceptional staff, lovely rooms, incredibly comfortable bed, amazing shower (water pressure)...
Beautiful place with excellent service and great location!
I was there for a reception in the terrace, very professional team, I enjoyed my time and the food.
4 stars because I did not drink anything, can't take alcoholic beverages I ordered an orange juice that tasted horrible, like it was made out of rotten orange.
Amazing hotel! Matt at the front desk was wonderful to deal with. So professional and courteous. Thank you for making our anniversary a wonderful experience in the city! We will be back every time in the city! Also don't worry if you get addicted to the bath products!
The service was excellent the food was plentiful but very uneventful. The filet mignon was hit or miss one was overdone one was undercooked one was perfect it depends on which one you got. The room was beautiful.
I spoke with John, the concierge. Such an enormous help with finding specific dining requests. He had made recommendations for some top notch restaurants just as I had asked and was able to give a review of each that he recommended. He stated he doesn't like to recommend any location that he hasn't been.
Thanks John!!! It was greatly appreciated!!
A little disappointing, no refrigerator, no microwave. Service staff on strike. Billed for an honor bar that was untouched.
The room was nice, staff is filled with liars that don t care about the customer. They barred us from the terrace citing weather and when I asked what weather, the employee stated rain. I was outside/viewing the outside since 6 am and checked the weather for 3 days prior, there was 10000000% ZERO rain that day. I also talked to the beverage manager who said the same lie and a hotel manager that played the I just got here card, Donald was his name. I expect a higher level of customer service after spending $300 on a room and $300 on dinner at their establishment. I ll go to Chicago again but NEVER at The Ritz Carlton. I originally put 2 stars but after writing the review, I changed it to 1. I just can t deal with a company that employs multiple bold face liars in all levels of employment, managers included.
My experience as a meeting and dinner guest at the Ritz Carlton was lovely. The building is beautiful and the staff is beyond friendly and professional. My only concern would be of pricing, as I feel the quality of nearby parking and in-house food was just a bit too high. I was incredibly pleased with my stay, but it was certainly a treat instead of a habit
The worst hotel experience I've ever had.
I decided to bring my wife and two young kids up to Chicago 2 days early while I was staying at the Ritz for a conference.
I requested multiple times for a roll away bed in the room.
-In my reservation
-My wife called to make sure it could be done 2 weeks before.
-When I checked in at noon.
-When the bell hop came up to the room with my bags.
The bed still didnt come by 7PM when my kids were passed out after a long day with an early flight.
I called down and they said they would check on it.
I got called back by the front desk and told they would probably not be able to bring one because it wont fit but they will check with the manager.
I got called back again by the night manager and was told that because of fire code, the room that I am in cannot have a roll away bed. This is now past 9PM. He offered nothing to rectify the situation so I asked him at least for a crib for my 4 year old and explained to him that I would have to sleep on the floor as my daughter and wife were in the bed. He then offered to send up extra blankets and pillows so I would be comfortable on the floor.
So someone comes up with blankets and pillows but no crib... I have to ask again for the crib which he finally brings. Now my 4 year old is scrunched in the crib and I am sleeping on the floor.
Tomorrow I will have to take time out of my vacation to go buy an air mattress somewhere. Unbelieveable that I have to do this considering the amount of money I am paying for this room.
Never seen such a shabby Ritz. We asked for the check three times but their employees have the memory span of a goldfish.
WE WERE HERE FOR A DINNER BANQUET FOR OUR DAUGHTER COLLEGE GRAND VALLEY COLLEGE IN MICHIGAN.
Nice big rooms w/ a great view of the city and lake. Great attention to detail from the staff. Everyone is over and above accomodating.
Went for the magic show, which was ok. But had a drink after, while pricey, beautiful atmosphere.
I went to pick up a friend. Friendly reception in the lobby.
Amazing hotel. Rooms are large and gorgeous. Bar has great drinks!
I will start by saying I totally understand quality comes at a price. The prices at the hotel restaurant (Torali) are overpriced tremendously!! I paid 72 dollars for a mediocre breakfast at best!! I could understand if the breakfast was of great quality but that definitely was not the case. I ordered a omelet and coffee my wife order pancakes, 3 strips of bacon and a orange juice. The price is outrageous this was not a high quality breakfast by no means..Definitely upset customer !!!
Classic hotel in the heart of chicago. Close to the riverwalk, shops and activities. Beautiful rooms with the most comfortable beds.
It was a very nice and very posh Hotel. We were on the 26th floor the service was nice the concierge was lovely the service was also very nice.
Always love staying at the Ritz-Carlton. The staff is exceptional in their service and attention to detail
How could you not love the Ritz? It is luxury. And I know I'm being spoiled by saying "yeah, but". I feel like the rooms need a bit of an upgrade compared to other luxury hotels now. Mostly the bathrooms. Everything else is top notch, from the fitness room to the grand lobby on the 12th floor.
The hotel was beautiful and every worker accomodating!
Wonderful staff. Good meeting rooms. No gift shop.
Very chaotic and cramped check-in area. Inconsistent service in the restaurant. However , our room was magnificent!
Never get's old! Love it here and love all the remodeling to the lounge and lobby bar!
We stayed in an Executive suite during our visit to Chicago. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful throughout. However, our room was not very clean. Nail clippings, food, trash was found along the baseboard and behind the couch in our room. There was mold on the inside of the bathroom closet. In general, the room felt run down and furniture well used. We were only there two nights, so it was not long enough for us to make an issue out of it and be disrupted further. In addition, we were only notified of excessive construction noise as we were being given our room key. The construction on the property would have been beneficial to know about prior to booking with this hotel as we have a 3 year toddler that couldn't nap during the days. It wasn't the stay we expected from the 5-star Ritz Carlton. As there are plenty of other 5-star hotels nearby, I would not recommend this hotel.
Our stay in this hotel was amazing. The staff was beyond delightful and the room (specifically the bed) was outstanding. We travel a lot and have not experienced such a perfect hotel until this weekend.
Ritz-Carlton Chicago - We had a great experience as expected. Service was excellent. Location is ideal. Tons of shopping and great restaurants or quick bites. This RC used to be the Four Seasons so the rooms, restaurants and lobby areas are More
Me and the homies pulled up and it was a spectacular experience. We were just being some dudes and vibin at The Ritz Carlton. I highly recommend this hotel if you are just tryna vibe wit the dudes on a Saturday night in Chi Town. Does not disappoint on my mama and granny
Have stayed here before and after the renovation. The renovation is really good. The lobby, rooms, restaurant, spa & health club are all very nice and the whole look and feel of the property is fantastic. It is one of the nicer Ritz Carlton properties I have stayed in.
The location is great and the staff was fantastic.
Resdeign of the bar is lovely. Staff did their best given the strike.
The absolute best hotel in Chicago for a weekend getaway based on amenities, service, room and location.
Great view, wonderful service, really made the trip easy and fun.
Pretty swanky spot. Great location, not sure it's worth full price but if you can get a discount rate, totally worth it.
Perfect place to stay while in Chicago. Property is perfect and in the middle of many things to do
Excellent location, beautiful rooms (especially nice if you can get a view of the lake!) and the always excellent Ritz 'gold' standards for service makes for a fantastic hotel.
Beautiful hotel with amazing service. Our room had a great view of the city and was well appointed. Very comfortable bed and great bathroom with tons of counter space. Late checkout was not a problem.
outstanding service and facilities. very impressed.
Attended hotel for business conference. It appears they refreshed the conference space we were located in - it was nice.
Don't expect anything else from the Ritz but the best, very well located !
My wife stayed at your hotel for a trade show she was attending. On her second morning, while waiting for a taxi in the lower lobby, two of her gold and platinum bead bracelets slipped unnoticed off her wrist.
That evening, after some anxious backtracking with no luck, called hotel security to see if they might have been found in the hotel.
Moments later the head of security was at her door with the two bracelets. They had been found by a bellman that morning and turned in to security.
We thank and commend your staff for their honesty and integrity.
Besides that, the hotel was wonderful !!!
Huge rooms, love seat, double sink bathroom, TV that connects to netflix, and Amazon prime. Really enjoying our first time stay.
Superior. Definitely lives up to your expectations.
Wonderful! Extremely attentive staff. Knowledgeable. Gave great recommendations for food and shopping. They helped make my stay memorable at every turn. Will definitely be staying here during my next trip.
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, and the staff are generally friendly.
Cons: The service is horrible! I had called down for toiletries, and it took a full minute for anyone at the desk to pick up. Then, they did not deliver anything until I called back 30 minutes later. Also, the toilet does not flush properly. A friend who is also staying at this hotel didn t have her trash taken out when she got to her room.
I stayed at the hotel for an event, and was not disappointed in the quality of everything. First and foremost, it's absolutely beautiful, and every lobby, restaurant, and ballroom in the place is stunning. Beyond that, the food I had at said event was very good. The potatoes were just cooked enough, the tomato soup was especially good with the bread, and the desert/appetizers were filling and delicious. I would definitely come back!
Very nice decor in the room. Great view. Close to great shopping. If you like a cold room, beware!
Very nice hotel. Customer service was excellent aswell
The Ritz has been a wonderful experience. Friendly and helpful staff, great view, some of the best food, shopping, and museums around... All within walking distance. Whenever we come to Chicago, it's the Ritz for us.
Check in is terrible. They make you wait wait and wait. Plus, they try to give you the worst room they have with nothing like they advertise. Call them and ask for another room. They have much better rooms. They just try fool you. Plus, the food is terrible. Not worth it at all.
The only confusing thing was the lobby that is up to the 12th floor. Very strange to have been my first time there as in any other hotel the lobby is on entering. Very comfortable place, quite luxurious.
