Hotel room wasn't that much different than any other hotel. The main dining/bar dining area is a different story. Definitely trying to be upscale with foods of unique flavors. Not too impressed with dining experiences inside as far as service. Outside and breakfast inside was a much better experience. Lived the live music experience. Bathrooms are golf club old school fancy.

First day (8/21) I arrived to wasps and a dead lizard inhabiting my patio for room 121. Maintenance came and sprayed to help with the wasps, which was all I could expect, but left the dead lizard. Next morning (8/22) there was a heavy storm that passed through and rain came in through the ceiling. I called the front desk yet again and they said somebody would arrive in 5-10 minutes. I rushed to get dressed without enjoying my breakfast and you guessed it, nobody ever showed. Other than my terrible room experience, the grounds were beautiful and the restaurant and lobby are gorgeous. I enjoyed using the fire pits and salt room at the spa. The pools were very nice. Rooms and grounds felt old. The main lodge (or whatever it's called) is new and very nice to relax at in the evening. When making a dinner reservation, try to get later in the night when the kids have gone to bed. We were in a dining room with a bunch of screaming children. The bar on the patio had TVs and was relaxing with live music. The whole lodge patio overlooks cornhole and a golf course. It was nice to get away, but not as nice as I was hoping. I won't be back.

The resort is nice and appears very upscale. The grounds, spa and front desk were wonderful but the restaurant was not so great. Since we didn't have reservations, we were seated in the back (of a 70% empty restaurant) and told we better hurry up because they needed the space for people with reservations. We expected the place to get packed and it never did. We went out to the patio where live music was and had a much better experience. The food was so so. I ordered my salad without bacon and it came with bacon and the server just left the salad on the table and didn't seem to care at all.

Excellent property!! A bit of a bit here, but... the carpets turned my feet a dingy color in just a few passes. Otherwise, discuss room and friendly staff with a great, reasonably priced restaurant! Got the filet with the grilled veggies - excellent! And had the brisket nachos for an appetizer - make sure you ask for a side of their salsa with the nachos! The salsa was great! Smokey and spicey - very unique!!

We stayed in one of the Ridgeview condos and had a great family vacation. It was very relaxing and quiet, just what we were looking for. The golf course was in great shape too. My son and I played 9 holes and practiced just about every day. The golf facilities are well kept and close by. My son absolutely loved the pool and slide at the resort pool. My wife and I liked that we also had a more quiet pool and hot tub right by the condo. We have family in Boerne and don't forsee any reason why we wouldn't return to the Tapatio Springs Resort on future trips to the area. The place was great.

The rooms are quite disappointing. Allie is great! Oscar is great! Kaitlyn is great! Golf is good. Clubhouse is nice. The security guard is a bit of a loose cannon... we re going to check out Flying L next time.

Cheers

Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort is one of the best weekend getaways in Central Texas. There are many activities to participate in, great food, and an amazing atmosphere! We will definitely be returning.

The clubhouse and all the amenities are great wonderful the views are spectacular Quality quality joint. The restaurant was awesome Chef's deserve 5 stars. The Resort sized pool was awesome the only thing the slide didn't work. Now the rooms we're not up to my expectations one night I saw a roach in my room the chairs were dated from the 1930s and the patio didn't have comfortable furniture.

My review is split into part to give a detail break down.

We are from the Ft Worth area and were looking for a nice weekend getaway spot. We chose Tapatio Springs due to the salt cave and spa. It was very difficult to locate, due to alot of twists and turns. The signage is almost non existent. Be sure to visit during the day if your unfamiliar with the area. Deer were running everywhere. Finally arrived, dinner service was over and kitchen was closed. We did not have any food with us, so we were stuck with nothing or drive back out. No vending machines or any other options for food. Going back out was definitely a challenge once again. Room as beautiful and the best you could ask from a resort (suite). We attempted to walk around to the camp fire and roast marshmallows (offered to vistors), however they were hosting a private party and several of the guests were very unpleasant and over intoxicated. The neighbors next to us were arguing the entire night, thank goodness our bedroom area was located at the opposite corner. We just went back to the room and called it a night. Got up early to eat and beat the rush, of course. At this point we are starving, remember no food after kitchen closes. Food was good, beautiful sights. Folks were already golfing, awesome course. We then headed over to our salt cave appt. The spa was just as amazing as I thought. I lovvvvveee those people. They are so hospitable and just simply wonderful. After we left the spa we need to get ready and check out. Well that when it gets interesting. Just so happens I slipped and fell (can't disclose details) and sustained some pretty serious injuries We immediately went to the check out desk and informed them of my injuries. The clerk asked me if I needed to check out right after I explained what happened. I told him yes, but I'm hurt and could you at least get me some ice. The clerk said he would need to look into the kitchen. He came back with a big bag of ice and proceeded with the check out. I asked the desk clerk for a manager, however there was not one on staff at the time. We proceeded at ask for first aid and he proceeded with the check out as if he forgot. We checked out and left the resort. When we arrived back Ft Worth, I went to the hospital. I had broken ribs and other injuries. The next day I called the resort to speak to the manager. The manager admitted that the desk clerk should have filled out a report and provided care to us at the time of the injury. I'm a healthy adult and don't have any health problem. Please be careful when visiting due to my experience. I would not return to this resort due to the lack of treatmen and care. I just want to share my experience.

Thank you

Stayed recently and everything was perfect. The staff was respectful and friendly. The room was nice, needed a couple little updates. Pool and gym were very useful. All in all would stay again for a quick getaway. Stayed with our dog and no issues in room, with staff, or on grounds. Back entrance to IH-10 seem to be a faster route.

Beautiful resort, tranquil grounds and scenery. Only 15 min from downtown and a short drive to San Antonio. Staff was very friendly. Treated us like family and very helpful. Paul and Martha were very accommodating with suggestions on things to do and dinning. We will be back for sure!

The new main building is very nice, but that about all this place has going for it. The rooms are old and very outdated, but we gave it a fighting chance. We had used bottles of water in the refrigerator and dirty carpets when we arrived. We drove from Houston for my birthday weekend so my husband could play golf, and I had a spa packaged booked online with a credit card authorization. When I arrived early for my appointment, my appointments were cancelled with no notice, and the manager didn t seem to care. This place has been nothing but a disappointment since we arrived. Waste of time.

They just reopened. The grounds are stunning and they are still working out quite a few kinks in the restaurant. Wish they would have lit some of the fire pits with the colder weather but overall, a good experience.

The resort was recently owned by George Strait and he and his staff did a awesome job on keeping this resort so beautiful. The resort is off the beaten path which makes the resort that much more enjoyable and it's so secluded. The golf course is great the restaurant very good but the best part is the beauty of the hill country.

Great customer service and very prompt responses to requests and issues. Only downside is the vague mildew odor in our room. However, the staff immediately placed an ionizer which greatly improved the outdoor. Great facility for our large family reunion. Nice golf course.

this looks like a great place on the website, it's not too pricey, and I've received good reports from friends who have stayed there. So it seemed like it would be a good fit for a retreat for our adult church group. So I filled out the online request for a group meeting (we need 20 rooms for the weekend, a little over 3 months out) The request form was pretty detailed and included all the dates, rooms, special requests, etc. we would require. It took me several minutes to fill out. I shortly received an automated e-mail receipt stating that a representative would get with me soon.

After a few days with no response I called Tapatio. A representative in the group sales office said all managers were busy and one would call me back within 20 minutes. She said she didn't have access to the message I'd sent in so I had to give her the information verbally I'd previously e-mailed. However no one called me that day or the next couple of days so I called back.

The same lady told me the same thing, took my information again, and assured me I would get a call back; in fact, she would keep my information next to the phone to make sure I got the call. Again no call.

Finally after several more days, I called to ask simply was Tapatio not interested in our group and should I just scratch them off the list as we have a decision to make; they wanted me to again repeat my information and someone would call me. By now I'm thinking Charlie Brown and the football and declined.

Not sure if they're incompetent or simply rude.

We were disappointed in our recent stay at Tapatio...

We were disappointed in our recent stay at Tapatio Springs. In brief, the problem is that a resort having such impressive amenities ought to have services and service staff to match. That was not the case this past weekend. The first thing I encountered upon my arrival was a business meeting by industry executives in your large meeting center, without air conditioning. The temperature inside that room had to have been 90 degrees, and these business executives and I had to endure a 2-hour meeting in sweltering heat. Even if the HVAC unit had been malfunctioning, someone on your staff should have either discovered the problem well ahead of the scheduled meeting, or another room should have been provided.
Next, my family and I ate one evening meal in La Casada and my daughter and I had the breakfast buffet the following morning. The food was cold, especially the eggs in the breakfast buffet. Who wants to eat cold eggs for breakfast? One of the items on the dessert menu was a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. At dinner, I ordered the brownie with ice cream, but my daughter asked if she could have just the ice cream, minus the brownie. What they brought her was literally half-a-scoop in a tiny bowl, and they charged the same price for that tiny scoop as they did for my dessert, $7.00. When we complained to the waitress, she said, I m sorry, and walked away. No offer was made to bring my daughter more ice cream, or to take the item off the bill.
I m not in the habit of complaining about small nuisances, but a resort with the reputation and clientele of Tapatio shouldn t cut corners on fundamental service. Although I wouldn t use the word rude to describe your service staff, I think that s a bit strong, I would use the word aloof. Guests at the resort ought not be made to feel as if they have inconvenienced your staff by their mere presence. I don t think anyone on the staff smiled at me once during my entire stay. Why are they so sour? You know something is wrong when the service staff at a vacation resort are not merely less courteous, but MUCH less courteous than the wait staff at the local Chic-Fil-A. You should be ashamed about the way your service staff behave toward your guests.
Housekeeping didn t arrive to service our room until 3:08 PM the day after check-in. By that time, I had finished playing 18 holes of golf, returned to a room having no clean towels, and had taken a shower. The maid arrived an hour after I had showered, and when I asked her for fresh towels, I discovered that she couldn t speak a word of English. She was pleasant enough, but my Spanish is rusty at best, and it required some imagination on my part to communicate what I wanted. Owing to the difficulty communicating with her, I didn t attempt to ask her to make the beds. I actually don t mind that she wasn t an English speaker. What troubles me is that housekeeping didn t even arrive at the room until that late in the day. When my wife and daughters returned from shopping, the room was still unmade, the trash hadn t been emptied, and the towels I requested were stacked on one of the beds. If you are understaffed, you need to staff to appropriate levels in order that guest rooms can be attended to in a timely fashion.
Tapatio Springs is a premier, Texas Hill Country Resort catering to business professionals and industry executives. In your business, reputation is everything. You will not enjoy sustained success until you have addressed these fundamental problems. Frankly, I hope these comments reach ownership, and don t simply stop at the management level, because I like your facility, and I d like to see you succeed. But, management at the facility IS the problem. The service staff needs to be more well-trained, and more attention should be paid to the little details that make a guest s stay memorable, and for the RIGHT reasons, rather than for disappointments. Only ownership can bring about these kinds of systemic changes, because the current management is clearly incapable of doing so.

Called on the way to make a reservation and a computer Tod me to leave my number and they would contact. 1 1/2 hours later I called and asked for availability. Higher price than on line and was astonished I new the asking price.
I should have seen the warning lights then.
I asked if they had military discount and that was $111.00 us tax.
This was a trip with my husband to areas we have enjoyed over our 21 year of marriage. He has been through chemo and radiation and the views and a friend he had 30 years ago.
The room was two doors down from a coke machine but we did ask for discount ?.
We called the front desk and asked for a microwave. It was delivered and placed on the small bench in our room and plugged in for us.
Then we called as the fridge was not working to put meds and water into.
We opened the back porch door.
Two very dirty plastic basic chairs. We walked out to see if their was a view and I personally was bitten by fire ants on my left foot.
The room is basic nothing at all special. The soap in the bathroom is the smallest plastic covered soap ever, enough for my be 2 showers do not stop it . You will find it.
I noticed the bad condition of chipped cabinets in the bathroom that had seen better days.
We walked in the beautiful evening around the hotel area. In a few years may make it but dirty glasses around the fire pit and the largest mosquitoes dive bombed till we went back to our room.
We talked of times passed and memories of family and friends.
We woke this morning to find that the hotel had steady taken $189.02 from my bank account ( my husband called to make them aware that they had taken monies from our account without permission and if that was normal)?
He was told that everyone does it this way and if there was anything else he could do for him.
Our fifty dollars over charge will be put back into our account in the next 10 working days.
So, we will not be staying a second night George. People who come to see you may that be their only consolation. We came here for a our special memories.
Please note, no breakfast and a very old worn out coffee maker with a lot of calcium build up, made our farewell from Tapitio Resort in the Texas Hill Country.
Golf has to be the reason to be here you are not long in the rooms. We are going on to the Marriot from here to get the service and beauty of a professional puts hotel.
One star is too much.

The resort is really nice. We had a beautiful big room. The bathrooms could use some updating and some throw rugs for the tile would help during the winter months. The food at the restaurant was delicious and priced as you would expect for a resort. My husband enjoyed the golf course said it was fun to play. We will definitely come back.

The management is well trained in dancing around problems . The chic room was nice in 1995. The refrigerator didn't work there was no microwave they did bring one an put it on a bench. In the morning I checked my account and they had taken money out of my account. When I questioned that I was told that was normal . I did not authorize the removal of money. I'm sure someone in the office made a mistake but management instead of admitting that they tried to belittle me.

Not a bad place to stay, but definitely nothing to write home about. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were happy with our check-in experience and room location, with a nice balcony view. The facilities offered to guests are nice and the resort is tidy. Two things that need significant improvement- room cleaning and La cascada restaurant. Our room had not been cleaned properly prior to our arrival and we found empty packets of food in cupboards. Our room wasn't serviced after our first night so we were left without clean towels, coffee and coffee cup-water replacements. All seems like a very trivial thing to mention but these are things you expect to be done even a time a budget hotel, and without three polite reminders to concierge in a top resort. Secondly, La Cascada restaurant is not somewhere I would ever return to. The service was extremely slow (we waited 25mjns for a drink order to be taken), and the food was not of quality (the order was incorrect and the quality was very poor). The chef wandered around the restaurant three times during our meal, but to get himself a drink and to talk to other staff members and not any of the guests. My advice would be that he really should not leave the kitchen when it's clearly not coping with the volume of guests requiring attention. Overall, a fairly pleasant and relaxing experience, but not somewhere I would recommend as an outstanding place to visit.

Played the course twice while on vacation. First, some of the nicest Texas Hill country you will see. Very scenic. The course is an enjoyable and rewarding shot makers course. You have some challenging doglegs, shots over water and wasteland that keeps your game challenged and anticipating the next hole.

Great staff, great teachers ( took a lesson from Jarred..amazing) and one of the best 19th holes you will find. Excellent food and staff.

Lead to believe it was a resort but really felt like a golfers country club. Rooms were plain and simple. No charm whatsoever. Would not recommend any romantic get aways unless your love is just golf.
The main building is charming but that's about it.

Greens, greens, GREENS! I'm from Central Florida, so I'm used to being able to hit the green, pick my line, and trust the ball will do what I think it will. Almost ALL of the greens are burned up similar to what you see in these pictures. You can't have this stuff surrounding the hole either. I was VERY disappointed in what I experienced. Hope they get the new clubhouse up, but PLEASE address these greens promptly.

The clubhouse, restaurant and walking trail were nice. It's a pretty peaceful place to get away. However, if you're looking for true resort-style lodging, this place might now be for you. The rooms were dated and reminded me of a classier motel.

Recently played the course. Was unaware of the resort or the course existed until I accidentally found it searching thru my GPS.
The landscape and scenery are beautiful. The course is well designed and comfortable to play. A little slow pace however, but the wait is worth it not to give up. They are working from a trailer as the club house andpro shop are being built after a fire last year. Kind of a confusion issue but the people are great and welcoming .
Loved the resort, location, river and hill views

Played the golf course when it reopened to the public. It was in excellent shape and good pace of play. Practice range and putting green are still good condition as well. The club house is burnt down so they are running everything from a small building to the side which works fine for just checking in.

We brought in 2020 with your New Years Eve party. It was all first class and so much fun.The food, entertainment and fireworks were awesome. We also enjoyed our room with a balcony over looking the golf course. The restaurants food was delicious and wait staff did a great job.

Played a round of golf here for the first time in over ten years. If you're a local you might remember the old, run down course. Not anymore. This place is on par with the other premiere golfing destinations in the area. The course was in fantastic condition, the carts are new and comfortable and the staff is friendly. The men's locker room has all the amenities you would expect at a luxury resort. And the grill serves up a tasty burger. If you haven't visited in a while, try it again and prepare to be wowed!
