The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the parking is very close. I love that there are no stairs (unless you're in the balcony). The theater is older and shows it's age. The chairs are cushioned folding chairs that must be 15+ years old. They are not as comfortable as one would like since you have to sit for a long period of time. I had called around 11 am to get information and though they didn't answer the phone, they did return my call later that afternoon. I was worried that it may be in a bad neighborhood and even though it wasn't in a super nice neighborhood I did not feel unsafe.

The Plaza live is really cool. Stage, sound and lighting great.
The friends bar just sucks, it s the kind bar that even if you buy drinks, they won t give you a glass of water. They would try to sell you a $4 bottle instead. Shame on them!

Friday night Elvis tribute show. We had good seats in the balcony, though a bit low and snug for me, 6'2" 275, and were regular theater type seats... much better than the folding chairs that are used on the main floor.
In this instance the band was a bit louder than the singer, though we enjoyed the show.
A low budget theater style facility, like a large "black box" venue.
Good bar, nice folks. Go. Enjoy.

Can't believe the Orlando Philharmonic is using this facility. I hope it's just under repair. Bare concrete floors and crusty old fold up chairs with the mustard yellow paint chipping off. After coming from the Dr Phillips Center and the improved Bob Carr Auditorium, this was a disgrace.

Great little venue, formerly a movie theatre. Visually nothing exciting, but the acoustics and stage are top notch. Performance prices are reasonable (for this day and age), and parking plentiful. Bathroom facilities can be quite strained at peak usage. Balcony seats have good views of the show.

Avoid this hole at all costs. Lydia and I attended the Gordon Lightfoot concert. Should have waited and drove the extra distance to the King Center in Melbourne. Dingy dirty run down inner city structure. Seating is rows of folding chairs. Too cramped. The couple next to us were both quite ill and coughing all over everyone around them. At the end of the first set i went to the men's room while Lydia went out for a smoke. Even though we both had paid tickets in hand, the security crew refused to let Lydia back in. No matter how we tried to reason with them the security crew kept pointing to the sign over the exit that says "No Reentry" even though there were half a dozen security personnel sitting at the metal detectors doing nothing. Then the dud head of security acted surprised that I started walking out after i realized Lydia couldn't enjoy the rest of the concert with me. Screw this place and the dumb ass employees.

What we got to see Lightfoot is still captivating as ever

Great place to see a show. All sorts of live events. Intimate venue, centrally located just outside of downtown. Various artists, musicians, comedians and other acts. Excellent parking compared to other venues, free and never a shortage. Reasonably priced beer, including crafts (considering it's a concert venue). Bathrooms are clearly old and need updating. But all around a great place to see a show!

It was a great time. Secuity was good. They sent a couple people back to their cars to drop off things you shpuld not take to a concert. They made us feel safe. The chairs are older, but the acoustics were amazing. Everyone had a great time!

My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing Dave Mason live Thursday night we had 3rd row seats and that was awesome the crowd was amazing Dave Mason was amazing however I have to say went to the bar and get a drink and we were impressed with the amount of top-shelf liquor that was being offered I only wish they had bartenders who knew what to do with it they didn't seem like they were real bartenders or mixologist as they're called nowadays and it just was a bad experience... over poured drinks they didn't know what to do with the Liquors when you asked them what they could make they had no drink repertoire and for a 7 to $10 for a drink I think I should have somebody that knows what they're doing and knows how to make a good drink.. I will say the beer was $6 for a tallboy was a pretty decent bargain so I stuck to the beer

This is a classy venue. I saw Joe Jackson here last night, and everyrhing was great. Entry and security is smoith and professional. Thebar serviceis friendly. Expensive, yes, but that is standard for most concert venues of this size. The sound quality was top notch, and the lighting and stage set up was excellent. It was just a pleasant, no hassle experience from start to finish. Thanks!

The venue was fairly small with cramped seating and the drinks were expensive. BUT I'm rating four stars bc I went to see Katya Zamolodchikova there and it was a transformative experience.

Pretty decent venue, a bit away from downtown. The venue is simply a large auditorium which gets a whole variety of acts. New and upcoming or sometimes one member of a long forgotten band. Always a good time.

This venue has good space and gets good performers, but the office staff are extremely slow to respond to questions, and are quite condescending when they do. Enjoy the music, but good luck to you if you need any help.

Currently waiting for my favorite band to get on stage and there has not been any A/C all night. Even the fog on the stage is standing completely still. People are on the verge of passing out

This is a small theater so there isn't really a bad seat in the house, although some to the far sides are not necessarily the best for you. The seats are on the small side so if you're a big guy like me you will be tight but not unreasonably so. The sound quality was good the lighting was good and they do get a lot of interesting act I will be returning to see another show and a couple of months and I am looking forward to it. They did have a bar and they do have security which I felt was adequate on both accounts.

Never been here. Never will. After the security, or lack-thereof, cost the world Christina Grimmie, I think it's safe to say that NO ONE should ever feel safe going here. I wouldn't. The fact that metal detectors haven't been installed since is outrageous. Someone gets murdered because your security failed to do their jobs and you don't think to make it safer? The world is not going to get any better if we don't PREVENT psycho people from being able to walk into places with rounds of ammunition and a knife. OK. End rant.

Just got to experience my first concert! They did have a metal detector when you first walk in, so that s a big anxiety calmer. Free parking, arrived early so we weren t sure how lines worked but worked helped direct us. Big thanks to the security guards for keeping everyone safe and dealing with crowd surfing and making sure that everyone is safe. Definitely can get cramped with everyone that moves forward, but you can make work with it. The place was kept at a good temperature as well, didn t get hot at all!

Two comedy shows two years apart (jim jeffries, nick swardson), both scenarios they did nothing for crowd control. Had idiots drunk, talking during the entire show, that never got kicked out. Ruined both shows. Wont be going back. See comedy all over the state and never had such poor experiences. Only the plaza.

The small theatre gave us a great vantage point for the show. The seating was good even if the seats were folding metal seats with a little padding. I'd say that the restroom definitely needed an upgrade, and the theater wall and floor could add a few coats of paint. It was pretty dark and a bit shabby inside, to be honest. The parking was ample and easy to exit after the show. I liked the intimacy of the venue and the acoustics. We saw Peter Frampton's acoustic show here and it sounded fantastic.

A+

I will try to clarify the mixed reviews. Yes, the drinks are priced like Disney. Wait in a 1 staff line & get a bottled water for $4. I don't drink, so can't price the alcohol.

The concert area is a concrete floor, sloping down, a traditional 1960's theatre design, so yes, every seat has a view (unless you are 5'2" & the guy in front of you is over 6' - I know from experience). The seats are very poorly marked (look for chalk mark scrawled numbers on the raised seat bottoms), so sometimes the ushers are very busy helping folks find their seats. The central air is inadequate, so sometimes it's hot & steamy, and other times it's cool. Prepare for both.

The seats are their downfall, and if you get a chattier employee, they will tell you part of the reason. First, some concerts have seats & some are SRO. You might want to ask in advance which yours is. I'm disabled, so that would be a deal breaker for me. Standing on a sloping concrete floor for hours? I'd be toast. But permanent seats are impossible because they have to remove them for certain shows.

What are the seats like? They are sturdy (I have seen them hold 400+ lb concertgoers without a creak) & have a medium padding, but that's it for the plus side. They are also attached edge to edge with other seats, and open at the lower back, with little foot room, hip room, shoulder room. The staff is primarily young, so that must account for some of their lack of concern. The open backs provide no lumbar support, so I find myself squirming & fidgeting to ease my back pain. I have yet to attend a concert where I didn't become intimately familiar with my neighbors' hips & shoulders...to the point that I could feel the music tempo to which they're moving. Seriously! And I am not huge. I am an average middle aged woman, again, 5'2", and I have to sit with my body canted diagonally, my arm behind my former linebacker husband, just so he can fit, also sitting diagonally, one leg in the aisle, balancing part of his 6'+ frame throughout the show. It's crazy! (Think of a plane seat.) But I give you these details so you can understand the mixed reviews. If you're a skinny young staffer type, you won't understand the complaints. If you're a normal sized over-40 patron, you will want to know these things.

I saw quite a few people using canes at the last show. I hope they did better than I. During the concert I balanced my purse & bottled water in my lap*, and held my cane upright between my knees. Several times, though, with the fidgeting, my cane fell down & hit the stranger beside me. Thankfully, he understood.

If the shows weren't so good, I wouldn't even go back. As it is, my husband & I both require taking in advance a Vicodin & a muscle relaxer to take the edge off the pain caused by these seats during the concert (though the pain does break through). We hurt through the next day, too.

*Remember, the floor is sloped concrete. Don't put your drink or purse on the floor. If you move in the tight leg area, or someone tries to walk past you to a middle seat, there likely will be a spill. And if someone behind you has a spill, it WILL roll downhill...like a beer did last concert.
