Tea time at The Plaza is one of the nicest things you can treat yourself to! The shops underneath in the Food Hall, though, offer drinks and snacks for a moderate enough price to make it a nice place to grab a coffee and do a little walk through.
Basement food court has lots of amazing gourmet food options.
Went to the The Plaza to visit the shops and restaurants during a layover in NYC. Really love the restaurants and atmosphere in the mall part of the building.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff/service was incredible, the rooms are old but charming, and you can't beat the location. Excellent experience.
We recently ate lunch at the Plaza food court. Made up of multiple shops, there will be something to please most taste buds. No fast food here; there are freshly made donuts, macarons, paninis, pizza, sushi, and more. Some of the larger stalls have their own seating, though there is a few general seating sections or just take your food across to Central Park.
As 1st time visitors to NYC, Central Park and The Plaza were must see stops for us. And while we opted to stay in upper Manhattan, we didn't want to miss the world class dining and shopping the Plaza is known for. We had high expectations and the Plaza did not disappoint. From its sweeping arch ways, sculpted pillars and iconic brass revoling door, the atmosphere of the Plaza is one of refinement. After passing through the lobby we headed toward the lower level passing through boutiques and shop and found a sprawling underground market of shops and restaurants offering hand made chocolates and backed goods rivaling anything Vegas has to offer. Whether or not you are a guest at the Plaza or not a visit is simply a must.
Had afternoon tea here with my wife. It was very nice, but I expected a little more for the price. Very good tea selection. Docking a star for the bathrooms- none nearby you have to hike around though the lobby to a different bar. Huge line for the ladies room. Men's had only one stall and the lock didn't work so I was walked in on three times.
Over done, tacky, living on its reputation, prices ridiculous for the quality of produce, however staff were really lovley and helpful.
No pool (home alone lied), trying to get as much money out of you as possible
Great place to stop by while visiting the city. Loved the food court for brunch and lunch. Try the italian restaurant there for amazing gnocci.
Felt like living a dream I suggest everyone to book here.
Atmosphere feels high end. Excellent selection of food from pasta to crepes.
Elegant and iconic 5th Avenue Hotel. Outstanding location with beautiful views overlooking 5th Avenue and the plaza. Professional, energetic and extremely knowledgeable staff. Perfect banquet hall with complementing decorations for our event.
Classic hotel in the heart of Manhattan that lives up to the history and the hype. Everything to the lobby, to the restaurant and all the way through the staff this place is five stars.
Staff was amazing. Water pressure in the shower was definitely a highlight. iPad in the room to control lighting and HVAC. Very spacious and sparsely decorated.
The legendary hotel we admired long ago in the movie and today we can drink coffee with the owner and the president of USA
Didn t stay here but the place looks incredible. We went into the building because of the Home Alone 2 movie and it s very impressive, it s also in an amazing location. Right opposite Central Park.
Surprised of the commercial zone of restoration that there is in the inferior plant. The majestic hotel and worth visiting
We had brunch at the tea room. The atmosphere was nice. The service was excellent the food was only ok and the prices outrageous. Went for the experience but was not worth it.
The atmosphere in the remind me of Waldorf Astoria Hotel

So where to begin, have just returned back to the UK from an epic 4 days at the Plaza hotel. The trip was for my daughters 8th birthday. From the moment we arrived it was like a fairytale for us both, the doorman Neil and Kevin were both so polite and swiftly took our bags inside. At check in Alison instantly made us feel welcome and interacted with my daughter highlighting it was her birthday.
The room was incredible and that s down to the immense effort made by Kristin in reservations for making the room so tailored towards my daughter. All of the staff in the hotel are lovely and polite and engaging, everyone knew my daughters name and on her birthday an extra fuss was made.
The concierge team deserve a mention for the efforts they made in helping me with reservations.
The staff at breakfast and lunch all very polite and kind, a special mention to Elvis for all the help and kindness and of course the biggest mention is to Tony and Laura in the Palm Court bar you guys!!!!
Thank you everyone at the Plaza Hotel for an incredible trip one that has really left my daughter and I feeling blessed, it s not like what is portrayed in the movies, it s ten times better!!
Thank you
James B
Nice hotel, great condition of rooms, but not only that the price per night is huge, you still have to pay for everything
The plaza was amazing and beautiful. The staff were dressed to the nines and so pleasant.
Fun atmosphere with lots of delicious food/sweets from the various shops. A little crowded though, and limited seating.
iconic place, also Apple fifth avenue , central park etc
I had lunch at the champagne bar and it was impeccably perfect. The service, drinks, and food were incredible. One of the best times I had in NYC.
We visited the hotel in 2012... Home alone 2 should I say more. Just like everything in Hollywood not everything is what it seems to be. My girlfriend and I walked around this hotel to try and see the resemblance to Home alone 2 however we were disappointed to find that many things where different. Home alone aside this hotel is absolutely beautiful and if we had the money we would have stayed here. As I'm writing this in 2018 they have a 25 year home alone 2 package which looks really cool.
A super dream place where several movies have been filmed as home alon and other tantan artists from around the world as well as customs have been here on the ground floor there are several restaurants and shops very close to the cinema and the views of the parke central are beautiful
First taste of New York & what a grand stay! Beautiful 2 & 3 bedroom apartments made our stay as memorable as can be with the luxury of privacy while traveling with guests. High tea is a must and the 5 star food Bellisimo! Grand Central Park is a beautiful view in the midst of the concrete heart, New York. Loved it!
I spent an half hour in the bottom floor of The Plaza to eat dinner. I had a crepe. The wait was very long, but the service was great otherwise and the food was really good.
Just visiting NYC and walked through the Plaza to check it out. It's a very nice building, wasn't too busy.
Convenient location of food hall type venue. Some bistros feel very cramped though
Great food and selection to choose from down in the food court area. The location right next to central park certainly doesn't hurt.
I liked the feel of this place, it was really nice to sit on one of the benches and have a nice lunch with a great view of the surrounding buildings
In a class. By itself. Highly recommend the afternoon tea service.
I wanted to love tea at the plaza. I had been looking forward to it for months as I have had high tea on 3 continents and several states. It was the worst experience I have had, space and noise were both issues. We were crammed into a little table for two. I traded to the outside seat with my husband after he was bumped by passerbys. When the other party of two were squeezed he was cramped on the couch. I was sandwiched by someone at my back and a stranger across from me. It was very noisy so it was hard to have a conversation. We did the champagne tea which would have been lovely in a different atmosphere. I finally had the remainders packed to go and we enjoyed them in central park. I would say it is highly overrated, but you may have a better experience with a table of 3 or 4 that doesn't require you to be intimate with strangers. I would never consider paying that much for this experience again.
Taste was good but price was kinda high and portion was not enough for 1 meal.
While the staff are extremely kind, I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of organization as well as the service in the hotel. Our check in time was 3pm and there were three rooms but none of them were ready at 3pm. One was ready at 4pm, one at 5:30, and the other wasn t ready until 6:30. Once we DID have all the rooms, the room service was appalling. We called to have food removed from our room only to come back two hours later and it was STILL in the room. Just because we aren t movie stars or famous doesn t mean our service should be any less professional and timely. So unless you re famous, don t stay here.
A must stop when ever your in NYC! Wonderful staff with an amazing market downstairs. Minutes from everything. Such a beautiful historical building!!
I mean it is the plaza. Check the food court downstairs if you re trying to duck away from the crowds from 5th ave.
I had to stop.by the hotel, to pick up currency for a trip to Canada.... I didn't have much time to eat dinner there, but did enjoy seeing all the shops that were there, planning to go around that area in a few weeks, to spend more time there....It is a beautiful hotel, great location....
Prefect for afternoon tea - beautiful hotel & restaurant. Staff go out of their way to accommodate you. Food was great quality.
Absolutely beautiful building and a dream come true to see it in real life after being a huge home alone fan from a very young age!! Highly recommend a visit
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It's definitely a place to tour during your visit to NYC. If you have time and money, you may want to stop by one of the lounges for a beverage or snack. There are many great spots for people watching.
Beautiful building. Worth a visit. Horse drawn carriages are outside if you want to hire one.
Hotel staff and amenities were exemplary, absolutely charming establishment.
Kinda overpriced but good food. We had the Raman noodle place
Great location , service , experience and price. Would definitely stay here again
Great food hall. Great place for dessert, lots of bakery options.
