overall it was an ok experience, but the admission fee is not fully justified. if you are planning on going in the summertime you have to be there as soon as they open in order to actually see the animals. It's too hot without any precautions for the animals and you can only feel sorry for them. Furthermore, the glass of the reptile aquariums were dirty and don't even think about getting the train tour, it's a waste of time and money.

My husband and I bought two value tickets and we didn't get to do everything that's included in the value ticket because of the lack of information upon purchasing. We purchased the value ticket because it advertised that it had everything that we were interested in doing that day for a fairly reasonable price, but we were not aware that you aren't guaranteed a spot for each of the activities even though you already paid for it. You have to go to another end of the park to "get your ticket" for the 4D film and the train ride though you got a ticket before entering the zoo. We waited in line and jumped on the train only to be told that we needed to get a ticket to ride the train... We arrived at noon and weren't guaranteed a spot until 3 PM at the earliest. By that time, we would've already left the zoo. We only did what would be general admission and then petting and feeding the stingrays, though our ticket also included the train ride and the 4D film because the wait time was ridiculous. You would think that once you get your ticket, all of the information you'd need would be presented to you at the time of purchase but you aren't. Quite confusing and frustrating.

It's always a great time to bring the kids to the Phoenix Zoo. We have membership and always get full use of it each year. They have a great selection of animals and the staff is always friendly. They have been updating some of their older exhibits which is good to see. I just wish that the new elephant exhibit would have more shade for when summer comes around.

Attended the zoo brew event. Forty five minutes after opening, it was 30-40 minute wait for food or beer. I was disappointed with the poor organization of the event. This was not the first event of this type. Reasonably steps should be taken to make the event less difficult. So we spent an hour walking around and left. We were disappointed in the overall experience. Definitely not worth the price or hassle.

I like coming to the zoo when the park opens in the morning when there is not a lot of people, so you can experience the exhibits without interruptions, this zoo is very clean and the staff are very helpful all of the exhibits were open except for 2.

Luckily I went with my son's class to the zoo I wasn't much impressed the animals mostly were in hiding and the ones that weren't it was truly over packed with children making it hard to see or even appreciate the animals my son had to worm himself around adults just to see animals there wasn't any staff to ask questions about exhibits to learn about animals we were given a map and sent on our way without any iternary setup for school kids ages 5-7 it's not what I was expecting from this experience. Just glad my son is to young to understand what was missing.

This was a fun experience for my family but so many bees they were all over the place and my family almost got stung by one. The animals are cool but you have to pay $6 dollars to feed the giraffe, ride the Camel which was not worth it, and to go to Dinosaurs in the desert. Over all all the animals were ether sleeping or you could not see them. That s my Experience.

I think this zoo is just okay. For being centrally located I feel like it should be a lot better. Recently it's started making improvements but the increase in cost still doesn't seem to warrant the value. We have other animal parks that offer better amenities and features though you'll be driving about 30 mins or more. I say this as a yearly season pass holder.

I love this zoo and have grown up coming here. It's a wonderful zoo, all the people are friendly and the exhibits are well-kept. We often see an abundance of animals ( if we go early enough before it's too hot). I will always keep coming back. One of my favorite places in town, hands down.

Went to last night of zoo lights and it was Aww Absolutely amazing set up of lights that everyone should go see once in their lives. I spent almost 3 hours there and still didn't get to see it all.

The animals look sad and the interesting things cost money (except for the playgrounds!). The tickets are way too expensive. But the kids like going so I bought a pass and it s something for us to do together. They only get to do the special fun things for holidays/birthdays so they re not begging every time.

If you want a really awesome zoo experience go to OUT OF AFRICA during feeding time! It has a more wild feel to it. And you can watch the staff swim with the tigers (free) and feed giraffes (free) and see the snake show (free) and follow the staff as they feed the predators (free). So much is included with admission. Go during your birthday month and it s a free ticket. It s an amazing place to support. The only problem is it s really out of the way.

One of the best zoos I have been to. Very clean and great for kids. Fair pricing even without any discounts which there are many to be found. Great amounts of shade to sit and rest under. Can't wait to go back once it cools down later in the year.

My family and I love the Phoenix zoo. Have been many times. Lots to do and lots to see. In fact today we discovered a part of the zoo we hadn't even seen before. The only recommendations I would like to make is we paid 10$ extra for the "all access" bands, but you really don't get "all access". The carousel is extra, the camel is extra, it only includes the train and movie specifically which is understandable in terms of costs, but it shouldn't be called an all access band if that's the case. The other recommendation I would like to make is that only one of the food places out of the entire park was open today, no snack stands were open at all, and it was a very busy day for the park. Additionally, there weren't really any healthy options for people who have dietary needs. Even the chicken wrap offered on the menu at the farm cafe had fried breading. The only thing I could safely consume at the park was the fruit salad. It would be really nice if more places offered vegetarian options. I hate being vegetarian, but have no choice. The black bean burger doesn't come with wheat bread so I didn't want to pay 7$ only to be able to eat the burger patty. I know companies can't customize everything for everyone, that would be ridiculous, but just one healthy meal option would be very much appreciated.

Weather was cool so all the animals where out parking was terrible I would also suggest you pack your own lunch or snacks because food and drink prices are outrageous but that is to be expected

I didn't like going there it was a very boring trip. I had read a comment from a guy who went there on January 9th and he said the animals were depressed and bored and I thought that maybe it was just that day but today I went there and quest what? He was right all the animals looked depressed. The Lions were sleeping the elephant was no where to be seen and the train ride it seemed as if the driver just wanted to get over with the ride. I wouldn't recommend it but who knows maybe it was just another coincidence as the guy who said they were depressed

Went on a low crowd day in winter and had a great time. Got to see all the exhibits and had a leisurely walk around the facility. Savannah Grill for lunch exceeded my expectations for lunch and tried the flavor burst soft serve which was nice after a day in the sun.

Best time is during Zoo Lights during the Christmas holiday. Can be pricey but I think it's worth going at least once. Took kids this year and they had a blast. Carousel was running so we did that. I don't recommend the Starbucks section as is not real Starbucks, horribly priced and not good at all. Don't expect to see animals as you'll only end up seeing the elephants and camels as all others are put away. Kids playground is open so they can get rid of some energy.

My family has a membership to the zoo we go at least one a week. Every trip is worth it. There is always something new to do or see. My son love petting the stingrays it's the first stop everytime. Also the employees are awesome and always full of info on the animals.
