Ster-Kinekor Theatres Review

Fantastic that staff are trustworthy, I forgot my cellphone in the theater and they kept it off me. Whow. Well done

Be sure to carry n wad of cash for this outing! You may be quite shocked at the price of a movie ticket, some popcorn and a soda

Like any other star chicory, can do with an upgrade and cheaper tasting good

The normal movie going experience. An upgrade to the facility would be nice to keep up to date with other Ster Kinekor outlets and offer a better movie going experience. Average service levels which could be improved upon.

Always nice to go to. Once left wallet in cinema but the staff kept it safe with everyting in it

Good service, get all the necessities for the movie very quickly and easily. Usually a lot of people who help you if you might not get it right.

Very well equipped for the disabled and they are very friendly and helpful

The movie house had 1000's of people, some of the movies were sold out but there were only two ladies at tue ticket counter which meant a 26 minute queue for tickets. We went to see Aquaman and it was supposed to start at 2.30 pm, no lights were on in the theatre when we arrived at 2.25 so we really battled to find our seats by 2.45 I went to ask why the movie had not yet started and was told "Lee" would start it soon. I went back again 5 minutes later to ask what was going on and ask why the lights werent on, he then put the lights on and said we would see the movie soon but without the previews. The movie was excellent. When we left at 5pm there was the same chaos with the next showings people queueing.

Worst experience in the history of experiences!

Horrible service and incompetent staff! Firstly the app and the website is beyond repair, so many bugs you need an exterminator or IT specialist; either way it needs help! Took us litterly 2 hours to book tickets. Then the movie started late, like half an hour late, then when we finally got inside the theatre, we waited for the actual movie to start playing, apparently the projectionist was late? Well he should be fired, because not only was he late, but the sound wouldn't work! Our tickets to the new star wars movie was refunded, but my life wil never be the same again. They wasted our time and still made money from everyone who bought popcorn and stuff. Today was the only day my family and I could all get together and we planned ahead as we love star wars and wanted to enjoy the 3D experience together before we all go our separate ways for Christmas. I am so disappointed with Ster Kinekor, if they had any competition in the Garden Route area I would recommend that everyone goes there instead of going to Ster Kinekor, either way I would recommend that you DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with Ster Kinekor in George, rather wait for the movie to come out on dvd or drive/fly somewhere else to watch a movie in a theatre.

P.s. I would give minus stars if I could!

Pretty good for a small city cinema. The 3D cinema is a bit dark though.

The pay stations allow you to complete your purchase including popcorn and coke... you pay the total bill only to be standing in the collections que for an hour.... my kids are sitting in the movie waiting for me to get the drinks and popcorn. Ive been in the que for more than 20 min and theres still approx 45 people in front of me..... i litterly did a head count.... never again...

Dissapointed....Refused to sell me tickets for Skyscraper because my one child is only turning 13 in December It didn't even make a difference to the clerk that it was going to be viewed under adult supervision

Rip off. To expensive. Would rather wait for dvd and watch at home.

Was a very busy day. The cinema could not handle the amount of people. Queues were exceptionally long and the staff did not have control over the people entering the theatre area.

I did however enjoy the movie.

Was INSANELY busy, rainy day and only cinema in area means every movie getting sold out and hectic ques. Howevee staff worked hard at hectic pace while still being friendly. Great service

Aweful. We came all the way to George to see a movie at 5:30pm. We arrived at 5 and apparently the employees decided to close the theater because there were not that many people coming today. How is that possible? They closed the cinema on a Friday at 5pm because there weren t that many people until then. Even though the website said they are multiple movies running, the majority of them AFTER 5pm. At which time did the employees think people would go into a movie on a Friday? 10am?! Very disrespectful to anyone who takes his/her time to drive to the cinema and then gets disappointed by the theatre being closed because the employees seemed to don t want to work right now.

This movie theater looks great and it was so clean and the service was fast and good. The quality of the theaters themselves are great. The staff actually care about your experience as they even came and had a look if tge blue lights at the stairs weren't going to bother us. Overall I had a great time there.

The sound and visual was good, there is no issue there. Sure the Avengers End game movie was cut off on the edges but still nothing of a problem. They can and should look at the seating since some are ripped badly and padding is worn down. Also the mens room was incredibly slippery yet didnt look glossy like there was water spilled more dull and waxy yet there were no warning signs which could be risky. And lastly and this purely my opinion is that their prices are a bit high, but then I suppose all the cinemas are these days...

I also just want to add that the floor lighting is a bit bright, making isle seats not ideal because of glare, especially while wearing glasses like the 3D ones. Maybe management could dim them a bit during the show...?

Movies are up to date, food is delicious, and you don't have to wait in line, you could just buy tickets at the food section witch took me about 5 minutes on a Saturday.

Rode all the way from Mosselbay to go to the cinema...bought two tickets to watch Aquaman.... We were seated inside the theater for an hour, watched about 2mins of the actual movie when there was a technical error which could not be sorted. Stood in another queue for about 45min waiting for a refund... What a waste of time :(

Machines are always down, always understaffed, almost always an issue with sound or lights BUT the staff are very helpful always going the extra mile despite the poor infrastructure.

Fantastic! Haven't been to the movies in two years so, it was great to sit back with ones popcorn and dive into another world.

Unimpressed, had to request for lights to be turned on to find seating and again to trun them off when the movie started. Not great.

Efficient and friendly staff, clean and delighted to see that it also has the Cinema Nouveau for opera movies!

Clean and neat cinema with friendly staff, outside of season operations run smoothly. Peak times during holidays (and when major movies are showing) the operations could be optimized to prevent movie-goers from having to stand in queues that stretch to the outside of the cinema. We waited about 40 minutes to collect our popcorn and then waited in a line again to have our tickets scanned and acquire admission to the cinema.

What a disaster on 1 January 2018! The App, the self-help and pick-up tickets machines didn't work. Only 2 or 3 Ster Kinekor people who had to manage hundreds and hundreds of movie-goers. App took 2 payments, got refunded with complimentary tickets for 1 payment. There were a few other people who had the same issue @ Garden Route Mall. The theatre entrance wasn't clean. You have to up your game, Ster Kinekor. On the plus side: Staff was helpful when we eventually got to state our predicament!

Sometimes I wonder if anyone actually works here ? There is never anyone to serve you when the kiosks don't work. Huge line by the snack bar and 1 teller will be open. Also often I've had a broken seat...

Watched my favourite movie. Clean. Staff awesome. When im staying in Hermanus again. Will visit then again. Definitely. Made my day and without knowing it was my birthday. Made it very special. Thanks

I've had too many disappointments from this movie theater. Unfortunately it is the only one in a 300 km radius that is available so you must suck up the poor service. More than once, an advertised movie was just stopped and recently after only two weeks of showing. I actually purchased a ticket at the credit card kiosk and had to get a refund since they stopped showing the movie but the movie was still available to buy a ticket for. I purchased the expensive 3D movie ticket for a movie and then the projector broke right as the movie was about to start. One of the projectors malfunctioned. We almost missed the beginning of the movie. What I don't understand, is why they don't try to get more people to watch movies. They might have a lower profit margin per customer, but more filled seats would bring in more money. Sometimes the theaters are very empty. On my most recent visit the staff, who were chatting idolly, had the cheak to tell me I am nit allowed to take my healthy snacks into the movie; instead I was supposed to buy their unhealthy alternatives for an arm and a leg.

The place looks gorgeous, but we waited in line for half an hour. The line was very long and there were only 2 people working there. On a Tuesday, when it's half price, you should expect to have lots of guests, but the cinema wasn't prepared at all. Some people were even late for their movies even though they got there early. Such a beautiful cinema but unfortunely the lines ruined the experience.

Comfortable seats and helpful staff. Food and drinks are incredibly expensive but that is consistent with every other movie theater I have been to. Bathrooms were very clean.

They need more staff on the weekends. Long waits for tickets and food.

Good service just too congested on busy days. Should open another theater in Mosselbay??

Clean and safe environment. Pricy but great staff and service.

Badly organised. Large queues at 9.00am both for cash and machine. For the first 10 minutes we were in cash queue only one cashier. Plenty of staff just milling around. Finally Manager gets another cashier on. When we pay we are then told we have to go and wait in another queue to collect 3D glasses! !!! Why can't they just have the glasses at the cashier station to hand out when you pay for your tickets. Ridiculous! !!
