It was a great experience but we didn't see all the animals
Great layout for a zoo. Animals are well spread out and good views of most animals.
Good zoo for kids as they have fun play areas and splash pads in addition to the animals. Our favorite is the orangutan exhibit!
Went for zoo lights after Christmas it was fantastic
The zoo lights are a great, casual family adventure!
Was very impressive and grandkids loved visiting there
Staff was friendly and helpful -
Not as many animals as I expected, but it
was my first time at the Phoenix zoo -
(I guess heat could be a factor) -
Grounds were clean, exhibits informative, animals seemed well cared for, plenty of
snack areas and bathrooms -
There are some areas that were an unexpected extra expense -
We were worn out and didn't get to see all there was to see -
Guess it's a good thing we got the annual membership, good excuse to go back -
Very nice zoo! Everything is clean, staff is very nice, and they treat their animals right. Things are well priced. It is very nice to get there early since it is a very big zoo!
This is a pretty standard zoo. Nothing really too exciting and not bad. There were a lot of areas under construction during my visit. Hopefully the renovations will make this zoo stand out.
My family and I had a good time. It's a good place to get their energy out. I would recommend visiting but not a must see.
Better then last year. A lot of different lights now. The hot chocolate was actually hot this time also lol. They need a better selection of food. Maybe a taco bell or burger king. Or filibertos, something.
The lions were so cool! It was a nice family friendly atmosphere with a large variety of animals.
Very nice zoo. Pretty large, well planned out. Im not a huge fan of paying 45 plus then having to pay extra for some other things that in my opinion should be included (like petting stingrays). Still had a fun time.
Buy the year pass, it's worth it to be outdoors. Amazing place
This zoo has improved dramatically. Air conditioned indoor eating, better exhibits and more to experience for kids. Looks like a waterslide is being built too. Good food for five was around $45. We may just get an annual membership now!
Get there early! My family and I practically had the Safari Cruise to ourselves! Staff were friendly and nice! Most of the animals were out too! We were unable to do the Camel Ride due to construction though. :(
I love the Phoenix Zoo. Feeding the sting rays and giraffes is a lot of fun. The train drivers are very knowledgeable and humorous. The splash pads are great for the kids on hot Arizona summer days.
A very interesting zoo the way they have the animals together
I am amputee of my lower left leg. I had been visiting Papago Peak to do some hiking. Upon finishing I had asked and Associate at the zoo if I might use the restroom and I was denied the common courtesy to do so. I understand policies must be followed by all employees and that they are in place for certain reasons. But do expect the same treatment to be carried on to yourself if you are handicapped or disabled be considerate of this policy. I find that to be very inhumane and unfriendly.
Wonderful zoo, great ability to get close to the animals, and very clean park.
Great price! Went around the noon hour the animals were sleeping, but it s fun to find where they are :) the staff are friendly. You re allowed to bring outside snacks and drinks which makes it really affordable. Lots of shade. No paper map, you can take a picture of the map. Thank you for going green. And parents, please pick up after your kids!
There is a great place to share with the team, group, and special with the family.
It was a little bit pricey compared to what we're used to. They did have some really cool activities but these cost extra.
Now here is a classic go to spot for an educational family outing. I lost count a long time ago of how many times I have been to the Phoenix Zoo with family and friends. My family has an annual membership and we enjoy all the benefits it has to offer. (1-hour early entry being my favorite.) Be sure to check out Zoo Lights during winter! This year was a wonderful time; polar bear slide, how fun! 4D Rudolph movie? Yes please! Great exercise and of course for all you Pokemon Go players you will not be short on finding gyms and stops.
My family and I decided to visit the zoo as I had a long layover in the Phoenix area. It was a gorgeous day out for it. We spent quite a few hours there and walked the entire zoo. Almost all of the animals were out and visible except for the rhinoceros which was missed greatly. Go in the mornings before it gets too hot outside.
We love it and try to take our kids as much as possible.
Love that you can bring in all of your on food and drinks!
It's a great zoo. We went for zoo lights and it was so much fun. There are lights every where, plus a light show. It's a really nice Christmas activity to do with family.
They had some new zoo lights animals from the last time I went, about two years ago.
Visited the zoo while on vacation in Phoenix. Very nice layout and natural enclosures for the animals.
Phoenix zoo does a good job of making you feel like your are somewhere else instead of the middle of the desert. The animal exhibits are excellent.
Zoolights where great worth the visit buy your ticket online to save a couple dollars.
Very nice zoo. Kinda spendy if your not a zoo member. Lots of different animals.
Love Papago park. Very pleasant to walk around. Fishing, rock climbing, fun for the whole family.
Zoolights, as usual was beautiful! A great fun outing and Holiday tradition for families, kids, and adults alike! It encompasses the most all of the zoo including the lake. They do have wheelchairs and motorized carts available but they seemed pretty expensive to me.
Fun, interesting, and exciting for children. However, it's expensive. Expect to spend $200 for a family of four to do everything. Don't forget close-toed shoes if your kids want to do the slide.
Awesome! Just big enough to be worth the money and just small enough to see in one afternoon.
I recently visited the phoenix zoo and had an amazing experience. There are so many exhibits and interesting animals to see. This a great place for anyone to come and have a good time. I went during the zoo lights at night and it was out of this world. They spent some serious time lighting this place up and I really enjoyed it.
We love the zoo. Orangutan and the tiger exhibit are always a highlight.
We love this zoo! It is always being updated and has new attractions. So much fun all year round with splash pads when its warm and zoo lights on the winter.
Was under construction in a couple areas, it's good to see that they are working to improve the enclosures. Overall a great visit.
Its a nice place to enjoy time with family and friends
Zoo lights tonight was amazing! Staff is so helpful and friendly. Great experience!
Get a membership and you'll save a ton of money if you plan on going back a few times within the year.
A good variety of animals in addition to some unique displays for a small additional cost. They accepted zoo cups we bought years ago and refilled them for $1. It seemed like many of the animals were not in their displays at the time of our visit. Otherwise, great place to take small children.
Great fun with the family! However it was a hot day
Very good and very nice to go with family one of the best places I've been so much to walk as to be quiet in one place still some margaritas of wonders the best I've ever tasted and the man who sells them very nice
We enjoyed our day at the zoo. The grounds are very well kept and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. 5 out of 5 !
Really nice exhibits. Just more directions would be nice
Always a great place to get some exercise on a beautiful day.
I like visiting the zoo it doesn't matter Which one to me every zoo its interesting it's the second time here and it is beautiful
