Perhaps a hotel with the most historical significance in Hong Kong. Awesome view of the Victoria harbor, great selection of restaurants (e.g., , Gaddis), and host of the world s most prestigious luxury brands (including the only Harry Winston shop in Hong Kong). Interesting fact - it was the venue of our wedding; we were lucky (?) enough to have stayed in room 336, where the colonial governor signed the paperwork and surrendered to the Japanese back in 1941.

Hong Kong tourism believers all know about the "virtual living" corner of the bed in the luxurious The Peninsula Hong Kong hotel. From the deluxe suite, guests can enjoy the most vibrant cityscape in Asia. The price of staying here is about 16-25 million VND / night.

It is a hotel that I had been longing for and wanted to stay.
I was impressed by the surprise gift of an anniversary cake and champagne with room service.
Everything from the service of the staff to the fixtures of the room felt the feeling of hospitality with a special
I was able to spend a very elegant and luxurious time.

Afternoon tea was delicious. I have a nut allergy so I couldnt have some of the food. The staff were more than happy to make changes and I had some new pieces of food made for me special. The champagne was amazing to the point where I actually bought a bottle of it in the end. At the time we went there was a string quartet playing in the corner balcony that just added to the magical feeling of the place.

The Peninsula Hotel is THE quintessential of 1920's HK, lovingly restored and a detail in services rarely seen these days.
Don t have to stay at the hotel to enjoy the wonderful lobby and all the shops in the arcade and restaurants and bars.
Staff and service is what really makes this hotel stand out.
Impeccable!!

We were waiting for our courtesy hotel bus and a most pompous pig of a man came out and asked us to move off. If this is the measure of the level of service you can expect from this place I couldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! I didn't know they owned who could frequent the footpath...

Beautiful colonial style hotel. It is worth going to look at the structure from the outside and from the inside. Impressive. A stone's throw away you can watch the sound and light show in Hong Kong Bay

I was here for my honey moon trip, just 2 nights, and had the most wonderful stay at any hotel ever here. The high tea is excellent, the hotel's decor is grand and historic, yet not excessive. This place is the definition of luxury.

Spacious and impecable rooms. I liked the tablets from which you can control everything in the room: the lights, the curtains, the TV, the audio, the air conditioning, room service... everything. Nice breakfast, very nice afternoon tea. Nice swimming pool. Kids are allowed in the swimming pool though it's too deep for small children.

Stayed here using the birthday offer package. Service was superb and accommodated to all our request where possible. The rooms in the new building was well maintained and clean.

Was first greeted with welcome drink (tea) and some fruits. Part of the package they gave us a free cake which was decent size (around 1lb). However breakfast was just mediocre

Due to COVID-19 the hotel was relatively quiet (when I stayed here during another offer, the hotel was packed!!). Went to the swimming pool in the late afternoon and there were only a handful of people.

Overall was very satisfied with my stay here and had a great experience, however at full price (usd 500-600/night) I might not think it s worth it.

Founded by members of the Kadoorie family The Peni...

Founded by members of the Kadoorie family The Peninsula was built with the idea that it would be "the finest hotel east of Suez". Originally planned for a 1924 opening,[2] the hotel opened its doors in December 1928. The hotel was located in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong at the junction of Nathan Road and Salisbury Road, directly opposite the quays where ocean liner passengers disembarked. Kowloon was also the last stop on the trans-Siberian rail link that brought travellers from Europe.

On 25 December 1941, at the end of the Battle of Hong Kong, British colonial officials led by the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Mark Aitchison Young, surrendered in person at the Japanese headquarters on the third floor of The Peninsula. The Governor was confined for two months in one of the hotel suites before being transferred to a prison in Shanghai. The resort was then renamed "T a Hotel" ( "East Asia Hotel"), and the rooms were reserved for Japanese officers and high-ranking dignitaries, while Hong Kong sank into misery and destitution.[3]

In his book God Is My Co-Pilot, Colonel Robert Lee Scott, Jr., USAAF, commander of the 23d Fighter Group, China Air Task Force, described in detail an aerial raid he led on the Japanese shipping anchored in Hong Kong harbour, conducted 25 October 1942, and the lone attack he personally made in his Curtiss P-40K Warhawk (nicknamed Old Exterminator) upon the famous Peninsula Hotel:

"So I looped above Victoria Harbor and dove for the Peninsula Hotel. My tracers ripped into the shining plateglass of the penthouses on its top, and I saw the broken windows cascade like snow to the streets, many floors below. I laughed, for I knew that behind those windows were Japanese high officers, enjoying that modern hotel. When I got closer I could see uniformed figures going down the fire escapes, and I shot at them...I turned for one more run on the packed fire escapes filled with Jap soldiers, but my next burst ended very suddenly. I was out of ammunition."[4]

It was restored to its original name after Japan was defeated and the British regained control of the colony. The hotel today is part of the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels group headed by Sir Michael Kadoorie, is the flagship property of The Peninsula Hotels group.

In 1994, an extension was added to the original hotel in the form of a 30-storey tower, which is topped off by a helipad.

I went for afternoon tea instead of staying. As it was the main store, it was more luxurious than the European and Japanese Peninsulas. I think it's worth a look, even if you're not staying. In addition, champagne of Peninsula limited was delicious.

The million-dollar night view from the guest room.
The rooms are not very spacious, but are generally luxurious.
It is said that guests can enjoy the famous afternoon tea at this hotel without waiting in line by making a reservation. Considering that non-residents can line up for more than an hour, this is a good enough advantage for lodging guests (the table is also divided into lodging and non-staying guests) Dress code is prohibited from slippers. Women's sandals or luxury fashion slippers were possible.
It's okay to evaluate the taste, but if I had to wait for more than an hour, I wouldn't eat it.

Another advantage is that there is a restaurant in the hotel where you can have dinner with a beautiful night view. The taste and service are good, and there is a wide variety of wines.

If you apply for a drop-off service at check-out (of course, it is charged), it is very convenient that the Rolls-Royce will take you safely to the airport and the hotel staff will take care of ticketing.
