Great place to spend a day with the family! A lot...
Great place to spend a day with the family! A lot of construction going on right now.
Great place to spend a day with the family! A lot of construction going on right now.
Huge variety of animals and activities, the "exploration stations" provide even more information for kids and kids at heart. A little on the pricey side (you continue paying for certain 'rides' even after paying admission, plus paid parking) but it's definitely worth the trip
It will be awesome when they get the new habitats open.
The best. DO NOT bother with 5 dollar day. Go on a normal day and contribute. This place is amazing.
Even with a lot of renovation going on, the zoo is a great place for a grandmother and her 4 year old grandson to spend 2 to 3 hours
We love the zoo. We have a membership! The elephants and monkeys are a family household favorite!!!
Expect a lot of construction. I'll be back again in 2020 when it's completed.
Travelling through from Wyoming and what a pleasent surprise! The zoo was fantastic and laid out in an extremely unique way. Our little boy loved every minute of it!
Went for a concert and enjoyed the quick visit though Stellar cove smelled fishy as we passed through. Thanks Otters!
Its still fun but.... alot of the animals are gone. No chimpanzees was the biggest let down. Construction everywhere. We will be back in fall 2020 to see all the new exhibits!
It was a awesome experience loved it with the family
My lady friend & I, both right at 70, are disabled and unable to walk very far. I brought my handicap cart that can seat one large person or two slim people. The staff refused us admission because they said my cart wasn't on their approved list. When I asked to see the written rules they refused.
We drove over 100 miles and paid for parking for nothing.
They were totally unconcerned that they might be violating federal ADA laws.
Awesome! Great staff awesome exhibits! I was even able to enjoy it despite having a service dog and had 0 problems associated with him being there from the staff, just make sure to check in at reception!
It would be nice if they somehow let you know that certain animals aren t there(so that we decide if we want to pay the fee to get in or not)- instead you find out after you paid and walked for a good distance. My son wanted to see the crocodile and it wasn t there. The animals that are there are hard to see- they are either asleep or hidden. Almost forgot- more restaurants? Less animals? More construction?
Great place for kids but it's long walk around to see all
Nice zoo recently renovated. Not many animals out. Maybe because renovation not completed?
We enjoyed the Oregon zoo and the layout of the zoo was great. We were able to see almost every animal out and about. Also the layout made it easy to get pretty close to the animals as well. There were a few of the indoor habitats that could definitely use some deep cleaning or something to try and diminish the odor that was lingering. Other than that though, we would go back and recommend other to visit!
Early afternoon on a cold day is the perfect time to visit, since there aren't many people here, and a lot of the animals are more active.
Stunning light performance. Glad to see the creativity! Thank you for so much hard work.
The kiddo enjoyed the visit! When we went it was very busy and over crowded. Overall fun experience.
A Top Notch for the whole family. I just went there again yesterday with my daughter and here daycare. An excellent way to for kids to learn and get exercise at the same time.
My only complaint is the lack of Restrooms, other than that, the staff was friendly, the grounds were clean, a very nice Zoo.
Nice little zoo, it can get crowded at times though.
This zoo is under major construction and a pain to get around without getting lost. There are no clear signs to point you in the direction that will take you through the park and it's easy to take a wrong turn and go in circles. Also a lot of their animals looked sad and bored. They had a huge new elephant area for the elephants to run and have enrichment yet they were all still pinned in one small section of the park or stuck in a building where they were obviously bored and wanted out.
Can't get enough of this place good for the young and the old!
I found it to be a beautiful place, nestled in the foothills of oregon. A wide variety of animals, great food, alot of parking, great family outing!
Nice time with family and friends while being affordable.
A great zoo with knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed our time there but pricey on food and drinks, bring your own!
Wow. If you have kids you HAVE to visit this zoo. The little one just loves looking at ALL the animals. Bring your strength, this place is big.
Sad to see caged animals, but got to see animals I've never seen before.
Really nice zoo with a good assortment of flora and fauna. Unique architectural originality makes for a great presentation and entertaining experience while viewing the animals. The day we went we got lucky, we found a close parking spot and nobody was taking tickets at the front gate.
Was there for Zoo Lights. Bring your kids, will put you in the Christmas spirit.
Must visit. My wife spent the entire day here. Even the surrounding area had so much to do.
A good walk and interesting animals. Great for all ages.
What an amazing experience we had at the Zoo. Very well planned and the elephant space is out of this world. Well done Portland Zoo, well done.
Zoo was great even with covid-19 going on, tons of precautions in place to keep you and your family safe. They have streamlined the zoo experience with one direction in and one direction out. Some of the restaurant are open for dinning still. So go out and support all the wonderful animals
They need animal "shows" all times of day. Liked the Zoo Quest idea, my granddaughter loved it. I live in Tacoma & honestly it was no better then our zoo.
Desperate animals, very small, not worth it I believe
The Elephant section was the best of the entire zoo.
The biggest drawback is other people. Come during midweek to avoid public as much as possible.
Great visit! Loved the Elephant space. Can't wait for construction on the other enclosures to be finished!
Love this zoo! Natural forestry in the zoo creates a less artificial feel than other zoos I ve been to. The Zoo Lights were super fun as well! After visiting twice we got a zoo pass and plan to return many times!
Currently undergoing major construction that is due to end in 2020. There are still a lot of exhibits available to view. If you are going on a concert day, but not attending the concert, plan to go earlier in the day as in the mid-afternoon they block off paths around the concert area. We hold a membership and found it a great value as our kids always have a great time. There is also a lot of food available, as well as seating if you bring your own.
Zoo Lights during the holidays is really fun! Arrive early as it gets packed after 7ish
This a great Zoo. A fun activity if you're just visiting or a long time residents of Portland
DO NOT visit this place during the Covid. Staff situated all around the park were very rude. We had visitors screaming and making political statements at me and my wife quietly walking around the park. Nobody defended us. It was the worst experience we went too on our honeymoon. A lot of the Zoo is closed down. They have a *1 lane of travel path* for the whole zoo that actually gets you a lot closer to people then you would if they had kept it normal. Overall will never return. There's far better Zoos in Washington and Idaho
It was nice it was a nice day and all the animals were out
Zoo is great any given day. Zoo lights makes it a different experience that's lots of fun.
Even with the colder weather, almost all the animals were out!! The staff were so friendly and informative..We had a wonderful time!!!!
Lots of animals off display, it will be great once all the habitats are done. The elephants were amazing though.
Drinking beer and looking at animals...and the elephant ears....omg it is heaven!
The park at night is beautiful with a few animals and we did not see most of them..and the price is expensive
Zoo lights sucked this year, I have gone every year for 6 years, this year alot of it wasn't their due to remodeling, killed alot of the good vibes for is.
I would give the Zoo a 5 star easy but I'm extremely turned off when I went there with my kids to see them serving beer at the food carts. One lady spilled it all over a kid in the elephant building.
Fun place to take the kids. Well kept and good exhibits
One of my favorite zoo's in North America. The greenery is lush, the animals and zoo keepers look happy which is important and the commute is easy for tourists. I have been a few times as I've passed through Portland and would go again.
Beautiful zoo. The picnic area near the elephant enclosure is a great place to stop for little kids to take a break
No polar bears, no monkeys, the place is ALWAYS under construction!
Fun to visit, BUT don't use online pay for parking, you will get a ticket. If you are going to offer such a Service make sure, the meter maid knows how to use it.
Absolutely wonderful place! I enjoy every moment I'm there every time I go!
Fun place just not right now took my boys there a few weeks back and half of it is under construction so not much to see and it's still full price not happy
Spectacular. A perfect visit for people of any age.
Great zoo, loots of animals to see in interesting exhibits. Love how they have different themes for each region and a particular focus on conservation and habitats, they really seem to care for the animals here. It's cheap on the second Tuesday of every month so can't complain about the pricing too much since I went when it was cheap.
Great place to bring the kids to see animals in their natural habitat. Plenty of animal sounds and fun facts located at most exhibits. Be sure to ride the train and watch the elephants getting lunch around 12. Bring snacks for toddlers or stop by one of the many food vendors. Recommend keeping an umbrella handy too. Nothing could dampen the fun time at the Oregon Zoo.
Great park but over priced just like everything else.. 8 dollars for a corndog small bag of Cheetos and a small drink is crazy. Plus horrible service from the cafe.
Beautifully Maintained. Lots of fund for kids just a few minutes away.
Zoo lights are cool. Kids loved them!! Either eat before you come or bring food in cause we waited 30 mins for chicken tenders and fries af the africafe. At 35 mins, we got our money back. It's supposed to be fast food right?? That was our only negative part of the night. Otherwise, had a great time perusing the lights.
