Was wondering if it would be worth the $34 per person admission. It was worth every penny. So clean and so large. One could spend three days here but we were able to zoom through in a single day. Bring your water bottle and bring your $$$ because there's nothing here that can be experienced on the cheap, however you can't put a price on such amazing experiences right?

It was very crowded on the day we visited the zoo. It was not able to scale for the number of people that came to the zoo. The parking was full but that was taken care of. Rest of the amenities were not that scaled up.
The train was the best attraction for my 2YO.

Great for kids 2-8. Some of the animals here are harder to see in other places like Amur tigers and Amur Leopards. Rest is as you expect. Very reasonable priced compared to other zoos of you are visiting. If you are a resident highly recommend membership. Very walkable. Good choices weren't great for vegetarian but they aren't at most places like this.

A great place to spend the day! With SO much to do it takes a few hrs. Hard to hit all the special events with the times not very well spaced out... The new upgrades to the enclosers are amazing!

Experience was great but finding parking was ridiculous. Overflow was full as well as any other spot. Had to drive in circles until someone was going to pull out and then compete for the spot. Public transit from a different parking lot may be a better option.

While some habitats are well done others are clearly a burden on their inhabitants, I hope these are in process of upgrading as the is a lot of construction going on.
The route through the zoo could use more signage as well as better marking to exit mid-tour (once in you're forced all the way around). As noted above construction is ongoing so many exhibits are empty. Avoid peak heat of the afternoon for your visit, animals (and apparently staff) remain indoors and out of site.

It's nice to go in the morning on a regular day. They had a discount day that is way too crowded, at least when I tried it. We stay about 3 hours, just walking around and looking at all the animals.

This zoo is a beautiful zoo. Do: get there just before it opens, catch the animal talks, sit on the lawn for the raptor show. Don't: go on a weekend or holiday, go to the underside of the ape spaces- super sad reality check, go on a very cold day- no animals out. Cool thing- only in PNW will you see a wild bald eagle torturing the caged ones by perching just outside the enclosure.

Fun family experience. There's some construction underway in a few areas which isn't great but doesn't change the fun times to be had.

The food is okay same with the drinks, but obviously that's not the main reason to visit a zoo.

The 4$ train ride within the park is not worth it unless you have kids that love trains. It's very short and laps back on itself and barely goes by any animals. Although it goes near the elephants, they have to be on that side to really be seen.

Otherwise the rest is great!! Cool animals and great service.

Say Josh sent you to use their free public restrooms.

We love this zoo, and have been members for years. We love how they are constantly striving to make the lives of their animals better. You can tell that a lot of attention goes into everything that they do.

I love the Oregon zoo, I visit at least once a week. Currently there is a lot of construction happening, and I feel like that takes away from the fun zoo atmosphere. I love the elephants, Lions, lemurs, painted dog pups, and harbor seals.

Large zoo with different animals. If your trip fell on the month of December, then definitely worth a visit Zoo lights. Christmas atmosphere is everywhere. Many objects made from lamps, stalls and tents with different food. Can be warmed with delicious cocoa

Loved it

The Oregon Zoo really cares about the care, comfort, and wellbeing of the animals. They're in the middle of a second huge expansion, and it looks like the future is bright for both the establishment, and the animals it cares for.

Always a great time.

This was a fun place to visit. It had a lot of unique exhibits and it looked like they were doing a lot to further improve the park. I'm adding this to my list of good zoos to visit again.

Amazing zoo. Clean, beautifully maintained, and informative. They are constantly working to better the habitats for all of the animals and regularly have a schedule of events/feedings posted.
Many places throughout to sit down and get something to eat as well as several food carts along the paths. The food and beverages are tasty and reasonably priced. The zoo also allows you to bring in your own food and drinks.
The main gift shop has a nice variety and there are also a few small suveneir stands throughout the zoo.
The Oregon Zoo hosts many concerts and festivals on the zoo grounds. From after Thanksgiving to the new year the zoo has a fantastic Zoo Lights display.
My family and I love spending time at the Oregon Zoo!

Wonderful day at the Oregon Zoo, despite all the ongoing construction (Polar Bears, Rhino's, & Gazelle's were all closed) Beautiful weather, but not too hot, so all the animals (even the tortoise's) were quite active. The monkeys had a 3 day old baby (pictured), and it was the first day of the nearby python being on display!!

This is an excellent zoo. It is very well laid out. The staff are great. Penguins and Polar bear to Tropical Birds. It is a joy to walk through this part, or take the train. Consider membership if you plan to visit often.

The pack of lions were enthralling! The tiger den was designed well, big large pit to keep big cats away from visitors.
It was a quiet day so we enjoyed this zoo even more. Love the gardens surround this zoo, well maintained and clean. Perfect tourist and local spot to spend a day with kids.
We saw locals sketching and going for a walk.
A rhino and other animals are expected soon as there was plenty construction going on to welcome them!
Flamingos, eagles, big cats, elephant, hibernating bear, snakes, reptiles, etc. Could be seen.
Lots of plants and tree species are also recognized. All in all, good facility. Next door was children's museum too! And the Arboretum! Good patch of green in the City!

My very favorite zoo. A happy place doing very good work in the world. The rescued animals are happy, and it's a great place to learn about conservation. It's also a nice size - not overwhelmingly big, but still makes for a nice short day's visit. The elephant enclosure and NW exhibits are literally exceptional.
