Great visit. All the animals were out in the morning. There was a lot of construction areas.
Great visit. All the animals were out in the morning. There was a lot of construction areas.
Heard wonderful things and well worth the drive. Good amount of walking involved but beautiful layout amazing exhibits where everything looks nee and tended to. The elephant exhibit is incredible. Plan ahead and look at the animal encounters ahead of getting there.
Great facility but rather tough to see all the caged exotic animals in their not so natural habitat.
I've taken my family here on multiple occasions, the kids love it. This time 31 May 2018 I was a bit annoyed as many of the animals weren't being shown due to construction. Upgrading the zoo is cool and all but we didn't see any signage near the entrance which would have been nice. I recommend an off day if you can, it's a very popular place, especially on weekends.
Lot of construction and new exhibits going in. Excited for the new Rhino land in 2020.
Love the zoo missed polar bears panda bears tho next time
They have one of the best elephant enclosure I have ever seen.
There is a lot of construction going on but otherwise I love the updates since I have been there last. Definitely worth going and can't wait to see everything completed.
Different then what it used to be. In a not so good way.
Greatest zoo I visited. Not the biggest, but nice and clean.
Awesome as always, but beware, train does not take you to Washington park anymore
Fun outing! Good way for kids to have fun and learn something!!
Really fun place with beautiful animals, a good vibe, and overall great atmosphere!
Zoobrew was great! Love the zoo with drinking and no kids!
This zoo is great but small in scale and doing so much construction it is a bit of a disappointment for 2019. I can t wait for it all to be done!
Currently under construction, walked a lot to see few animals. Train ride was about 4 mins long. Merry go round was broken. Disappointed
Informative and fun. Zoo lights are always great aswell
Need about 5 hours to go through the whole zoo. Some exhibits are under renovations.
This place was fun as always. I couldnt give it a 5 stars due to certain areas being under construction
Needs to be done with renovations, not enough animal exhibits open, it always feels like half the zoo is closed
Had a great time, took lots of great pictures. Looks like the zoo has got a lot of plans for future exhibits that we cant wait to see!
Fun Family Time ... be sure to dress warm, it's nippy cold
Love the zoo, always a fun experience especially in winter with the zoo lights
If you can, i recommend taking the train rather than driving and parking. The layout of the zoo is fantastic. Its very easy to navigate. Easily walkable but there is also a train for those who want to cut down on steps. The train is really fun too. Great activities for kids. Its clean, they take amazing care of the animals and there are tons of friendly volunteers around to answer questions and help you make the most of the park. Plus... its Portland so even the food and drinks are high quality. Worth every penny and a fun day for the whole family.
Half the exhibits are closed so be forewarned. You have to wear masks inside and outside. Cost $54 for the 3 of us. Very warm. No refund policy. Just know before you go. Barely saw half the animals. Meh.
Love going here. The staff is wonderful. Parking is awful though.
A great place to take kids. Even if you don't care for zoos, the the garden-like paths make for a nice stroll.
It's small, but it has a good selection of exhibits.
Too many kids. No animals in displays. Way to expensive.
Always enjoy it here. They really try to help animals.
Too many empty exhibits, due to deaths or the remodeling, no leopards, tigers, hippos, zebras, rhinos, most of the primates and bears , we won't be back until 2020 when the should have more animals.
I love this zoo! Hands down the best zoo ive ever been to.
Outstanding Zoo must see all animals once again very soon
Kind of disappointing. Lots of exhibits closed for remodeling. Train ride was short. Exhibits open were great though
It was PACKED! But my kiddos still had a blast. Kids happy, Mamas happy..
I have been to this zoo twice, March and July. It was rainy in March and I still had a great time. July was absolutely beautiful. The plants and wildlife were awesome. They keep their zoo well maintained. The animals all looked comfortable and happy! So much to see and do!
Good walking paths, train ride not very exciting, great scenery, lots of parking, not too expensive, lots under construction, giraffes were my favorite.
Seriously loved this place. Definitely worth the admission. Huge place. Well kept. Affordable food/drink. Always new stuff to see. Lots of events lined up and really clean during their add-on.
I was impressed. We'll be back when we return to Oregon
Love the zoo, lots of expansions and repairs going on currently. The new elephant lands is beautiful. Wish they would hurry up with fixing the train tracks.
This is a pretty good zoo. It's the one I grew up going to. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They have amazing discounts if you are on government assistance (food stamps, wic, etc) but the prices are quite high otherwise. We were able to find parking on a busy Saturday so that's always a plus. They currently don't have polar bears or most of their monkeys while they renovate their habitats. That was kind of a bummer since my four year old wanted to see those two the most. It would have been nice for them to inform us of that beforehand, hence the 4, instead of, 5 star rating.
This is a popular very clean zoo where animals seen healthy and well cared for. There is a state of the art veterinary clinic/hospital on the grounds for all the animals. The train is cute albeit a fairly short ride. Interactive exhibits are plentiful for children.A great place to spend a day. Summer concerts are great and usually sell out quickly. i recommend you Get here early as parking lot can fill up fast. They got rid of the hippos But the new black rhino exhibit is looking great can t wait to see how it turns out. Mountain goats bears eagle condors lions Cheetahs elephants Train is on a 6 min short loop $4 a person is a bit expensive but if your kid needs a train ride it s here. Overall it s a nice place to visit.
My family and I had a great day there with a good friend of mine and his family. It was the first time that my family went there. I would go back again.
It's a sprawling place. Seems well maintained and a lot of variety. Obvious effort to create as close as possible to a natural environment for the animals.
Had a lot of fun with the Christmas lights. The crowds weren't too much earlier in the evening. But later, the line to get in takes too long. Don't wait until later to get started.
Small zoo with very knowledgeable and invested docents.
I've been going to the Oregon Zoo for decades! I would have given this 5 stars but I was completely bummed that so many exhibits were closed! It was a gorgeous day though and the elephant exhibit was pretty cool! I will go back next summer and try it again. I'll update my review then, hopefully 5 stars! I would recommend this zoo, when things are open!
We love the Oregon Zoo. We go to see concerts there every summer, it is such a wonderful place.
Most of its under construction. Very few animals currently. Looking forward to coming back after 2020 when polar bear exhibit and rhino exhibits are up and running. As well as the monkey island is in place. Hopefully they ll have a new tiger by then too. The lay out of the zoo is nice and the elephant area is cool. But it s all done, it ll be a lot better zoo/.
Despite various enclosures being closed for refurbishment we still had a long and enjoyable day here. Not sure how we would've managed if all the animals were in!
A beautiful zoo that is currently going through some major upgrades that will make both animal and human life better. One of the most well taken care of and well mapped out zoos that I've been to.
A little disappointed. So much has changed and covid has screwed up a lot. Still a fun trip but wish everything was there. For $17 it is still worth it
The Animal experience is in-depth . You feel immersed. The animals roam free . Definitely will enjoy.
They did a great job building an animal-friendly park.
FYI You need to pay for parking. But you dont really need all day parking though.
Love the Oregon Zoo!! There is a lot of walking up and down hill. A lot of the exhibits are currently closed but besides that we loved it.
Few leisure locations stimulate the wonder + serenity of the Oregon Zoo. The grounds are beautiful on their own, the perfect enhancement for the amazing animal habitats + their residents. Not a huge spread, so easily taken in without exhaustion....each turn on the path offers something enriching to see + learn about. All ages, origins, and types of people are present to partake in this treasure on any day, in any weather. Please support the survival of the Oregon Zoo!
I love how they open educational opportunities to adults as well as to kids.
Family pass is the way to go. Kids loved zoo lights.
Pretty expensive for what it's worth. Good thing to do with the kids.
A family favorite. Large enough to tire out the kids (and me) yet small enough to tackle in just a couple hours. Can t wait for the new exhibits to open in 2019 and 2020!
Went to see a violent femmes show, it was awesome they sound the exact same as their albums
this is one of my favorite places in the whole world
Other than it being crowded this place is a great location for a fun day out with friends and family!
Great zoo, only 4 stars until they fix the train tracks.
