Heard wonderful things and well worth the drive. Good amount of walking involved but beautiful layout amazing exhibits where everything looks nee and tended to. The elephant exhibit is incredible. Plan ahead and look at the animal encounters ahead of getting there.

I've taken my family here on multiple occasions, the kids love it. This time 31 May 2018 I was a bit annoyed as many of the animals weren't being shown due to construction. Upgrading the zoo is cool and all but we didn't see any signage near the entrance which would have been nice. I recommend an off day if you can, it's a very popular place, especially on weekends.

If you can, i recommend taking the train rather than driving and parking. The layout of the zoo is fantastic. Its very easy to navigate. Easily walkable but there is also a train for those who want to cut down on steps. The train is really fun too. Great activities for kids. Its clean, they take amazing care of the animals and there are tons of friendly volunteers around to answer questions and help you make the most of the park. Plus... its Portland so even the food and drinks are high quality. Worth every penny and a fun day for the whole family.

Half the exhibits are closed so be forewarned. You have to wear masks inside and outside. Cost $54 for the 3 of us. Very warm. No refund policy. Just know before you go. Barely saw half the animals. Meh.

Too many empty exhibits, due to deaths or the remodeling, no leopards, tigers, hippos, zebras, rhinos, most of the primates and bears , we won't be back until 2020 when the should have more animals.

I have been to this zoo twice, March and July. It was rainy in March and I still had a great time. July was absolutely beautiful. The plants and wildlife were awesome. They keep their zoo well maintained. The animals all looked comfortable and happy! So much to see and do!

Seriously loved this place. Definitely worth the admission. Huge place. Well kept. Affordable food/drink. Always new stuff to see. Lots of events lined up and really clean during their add-on.

This is a pretty good zoo. It's the one I grew up going to. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They have amazing discounts if you are on government assistance (food stamps, wic, etc) but the prices are quite high otherwise. We were able to find parking on a busy Saturday so that's always a plus. They currently don't have polar bears or most of their monkeys while they renovate their habitats. That was kind of a bummer since my four year old wanted to see those two the most. It would have been nice for them to inform us of that beforehand, hence the 4, instead of, 5 star rating.

This is a popular very clean zoo where animals seen healthy and well cared for. There is a state of the art veterinary clinic/hospital on the grounds for all the animals. The train is cute albeit a fairly short ride. Interactive exhibits are plentiful for children.A great place to spend a day. Summer concerts are great and usually sell out quickly. i recommend you Get here early as parking lot can fill up fast. They got rid of the hippos But the new black rhino exhibit is looking great can t wait to see how it turns out. Mountain goats bears eagle condors lions Cheetahs elephants Train is on a 6 min short loop $4 a person is a bit expensive but if your kid needs a train ride it s here. Overall it s a nice place to visit.

I've been going to the Oregon Zoo for decades! I would have given this 5 stars but I was completely bummed that so many exhibits were closed! It was a gorgeous day though and the elephant exhibit was pretty cool! I will go back next summer and try it again. I'll update my review then, hopefully 5 stars! I would recommend this zoo, when things are open!

Most of its under construction. Very few animals currently. Looking forward to coming back after 2020 when polar bear exhibit and rhino exhibits are up and running. As well as the monkey island is in place. Hopefully they ll have a new tiger by then too. The lay out of the zoo is nice and the elephant area is cool. But it s all done, it ll be a lot better zoo/.

A beautiful zoo that is currently going through some major upgrades that will make both animal and human life better. One of the most well taken care of and well mapped out zoos that I've been to.

Few leisure locations stimulate the wonder + serenity of the Oregon Zoo. The grounds are beautiful on their own, the perfect enhancement for the amazing animal habitats + their residents. Not a huge spread, so easily taken in without exhaustion....each turn on the path offers something enriching to see + learn about. All ages, origins, and types of people are present to partake in this treasure on any day, in any weather. Please support the survival of the Oregon Zoo!
