I have been coming here for more than 35 years. My favorite restaurant ever. I came here when this trolley car was in Old Town Portland then it was moved to the foundation it sits on today, when they built the building around it because the plans had no way to fit it through the door. I've been to OSFs in Seattle, San Jose, Portland Metro, Fullerton, Newport Beach and others. Every time, every place have I been never disappointed. Each one a masterpiece in decor but not one has ever beat this one. A bucket list number 1 if you never been there.

I took a friend who had never been. He was impressed with the decor which is over the top gorgeous, with the Riverside setting, also gorgeous, and the food which is always a bargain and delicious! We sat in the bar because it is quieter ( he has hearing difficulties ) and the service was fantastic. The house Chianti is quite drinkable. Old Spaghetti Factory has been a family favorite since it began in the 70s when it was in Old Town Portland great memories and great experience!

The food was bland and uninteresting and we were seated next to a table containing 12 screaming kids celebrating a birthday. Worst dining experience I've had in many years. It did have some beautiful beveled glass doors though.

Terrible service and mediocre food. If all you care about is allow price point and a good table atmosphere, give it a shot, but I'd you're looking for a quality experience I'd steer clear of this location.

Visibly a destination wonderland. Quality of many of the selections sadly falls short. As does the service. Nothing cleared till you get your check. Meals are rushed. Even when you tell the server you wanted a slow pace. We had our soggy salad, cheese bread and entrees all served within 15 minutes.
Ruined our first impression and mood.
I know...prices are very reasonable...I shouldn't set such high standards...but by my expectations...they weren't high.
I won't choose to go back.

Atrocious service. Went with a large family party (25 ppl) for a post-xmas gathering. Took over 2.5 hours from the time we were seated to dessert. *Everything* was agonizingly slow, from taking our order to serving salads to bringing out the main course. We had one server and even though she seemed to be putting in the effort, she was simply overwhelmed - she needed help that wasn't coming. And, they forgot a few of our side dishes. At the end of the evening, we asked to talk to a manager, and - wouldn't you know it - it took 10 minutes just to find him.

The food was ok, nothing special. Pasta was cooked well. Clam sauce was oddly creamy.

Suggest you avoid this place.

Beautiful restaurant right on the river. Lots of stained glass & charm. Food is good but on the expensive side. Every other table is closed to keep social distancing. Masks required until eating or drinking. Employees all wore masks. I felt very comfortable being there. It was our first time out to a restaurant since pandemic started.

I almost gave this place a 1-star because for the past 30 years their customer service has needed improvement. It doesn't matter if I go to their Portland or San Jose restaurant. Recently, we waited 30 minutes before getting a server, and that was only after I had informed them that we did not have one. To their credit they didn't charge us for one of our appetizers to make up for it. It wasn't enough in my opinion, but at least they tried. I keep returning only because of their mzithra, but I always brace myself for their customer service.
We enjoy their food and ambience, so we'll probably keep giving them more chances. Sigh.

At least a step or two above Olive Garden, but not exactly fine Italian cuisine. It has a fun family atmosphere, with a kitschy, turn off the century theme. Would I take a family here? Yes, for sure; the spaghetti and meatballs is sure to please the little ones. Would I take a date here? Not a chance, although it would have been a decent place to eat on prom night 15 years ago! The menu items are the standard faire, bland and uninspired; it's corporate, cookie cutter food, which is replicated in all of their restaurants around the country. You don't have a head chef, whipping up one of his favorites if Grandma's recipes, based on what is fresh at the farmer's market that morning, but I guess that's not the idea there anyways. One thing that Portland can be proud of is this is the ORIGINAL Old Spaghetti Factory; the first that started a chain, right here in the Rose City!

Always love this place and so do the kids. Great food at very reasonable prices. The service is always really good. This last time we were there, yesterday my kids wanted to sit in the caboose but this area was not covered by servers at that time. They allowed us to sit there any ways and went out of their way to ensure we were checked on when needed and had everything we could all for. Because it is popular you usually have a small wait to get a table but they move it along quickly so even if the waiting area looks full they will move through the crowd within 10-15 minutes. That always amazes me as they never rush you to finish eating and there is already complementary soup/salad, bread and ice cream with every meal.

I love coming here. The atmosphere is great, the staff is always friendly and helpful, and the food tastes great. The prices are also very reasonable. My go to place for dinner in Portland or Corvallis.

Always a great location to dine. If your new to dining here be sure to ask the greeters for a seat overlooking the river. The bar has comfortable seating. Got kids? There is a games room upstairs.

After waiting 10 minutes, we were told it would be another 10 minutes to be seated. We saw plenty of tables available we could have been sat at. Due to the rude service all 5 of us in our party left.

Yum
