The odyssey is such a great cinema. With tables on the lower levels, and classic cinema seating higher up, it is a charming and lovely place to see a film. I love it there.
Gorgeous independent cinema. Great screen and very comfortable seats and lots of legroom in the stadium seats. Snacks served to your seat. Bar open in the auditorium throughout the film. Great selection of movies. Check out the sister cinema, The Rex in Berkhamsted.
Very enjoyable experience, comfortable seating with loads of leg room. Plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby and a convenient car park is a 5 minute walk away.
Comfy chairs with your own table means you have the freedom to go to the loo or buy a drink without irritating the rest of your row! Enjoyed the cheese board. Staff were really helpful adding this on to my booking after I'd already paid too.
Just love this cinema, brings back childhood memories of my local State in Essex. All seats are comfortable, always have a fantastic view and the sound is amazing. Looking forward to my next outing...
Easy to book online, great service once at the venue from the reception area right through to your seats. Add in the human touch of a compere after the adverts, before the movie starts, and you can make a night of if
Great way to see a film. Very difficult to book on line with a gift card - much better to do it by telephone(the only way to get change from a gift card). This could be improved.
Absolutely love this cinema. We try and see at least one film a month as the atmosphere is amazing. It's a single screen cinema with perfect seats/view and the staff are great too!
How have I never been here before?! I like that a staff member comes up & tells you random facts about the film. You can order alcoholic beverages & cheese & crackers. The bar is always opened. I've only sat downstairs so I don't know what the upstairs looks like. But I really liked it. I saw a couple on the sofa with a blanket - that's what I'm doing next time!
thanks James , Anna and All of You for the most enjoyable entertainment and hospitality at Mondays 5th Anniversary Surprise Film celebration : heres to the 6th! Peter, the " so neatly handwritten"
A nicely renovated period cinema. Comfortable chairs grouped around tables where you can put the beers, bottles of wine or whatever else you fancy from one of their well stocked bars. Doesn't have the range of films that a multiscreen Cineplex can offer but their matinees are cheaper than the rest. On the downside, I would have liked the sound system to have been a bit more engaging. I was watching Solo (Star Wars) and would have liked the floor to have been shaking rather than feeling that my sound system at home would have done a better job. Also, the screen is on the small side compared to the new Cineplex screens but, like I said, it is an old building and it was nice to see it renovated father than torn down and replaced with something modern and ugly. Overall, good
Large single screen cinema with a cocktail lounge layout downstairs and more traditional cinema seating upstairs. Two bars that remain open during screenings serving bottled ales, wine, coffees and a variety of soft drinks and snacks including their signature cheese board.
Fantastic independent cinema showing both new, classic and international films. Desperately needed in the St.Albans area since the last cinema shut down some years ago. Situated opposite a great curry house and a nice steak joint, it has become a regular outing for my friends and I.
Love this place, its like going into a 1920's jazz hall. You sit at your table rather than the typical row of chairs. Staff seem like volunteers rather than employees. Its because they are really nice, they're not tired employees of your typical chain cinema, but genuine people.
I love this place. Proper little retro cinema. Kept in very good condition. Super comfy seats, very friendly staff. Also play classic films. You can make suggestions on a board in the foyer too. Wine, beer, tea, hot chocolate, sweets, popcorn.
The best cinema experience I've ever had.....The cinema itself has been beautifully restored, the staff are all helpful and friendly, the seating and layout is perfect and the added bonus of being able to have a cheeky bottle of wine whilst watching a film is the icing on the cake, I would recommend this cinema to each and everyone
Beautiful art deco 1 screen cinema. Alcohol available during the films. Very comfortable seating. Recommend booking in advance online. Regularly sold out.
Great atmosphere. We watched Jumanji in a cinema full of parents and children. All the children were well behaved. The seats were comfortable (especially for my pregnant wife) and the snacks were good.
Such a fantastic place to see a film. The atmosphere is great and the seats are so comfy. I still can't believe the price is so good for such a different cinema experience.
Comfortable and complete update on the idea of a cinema.Down stairs comfy tables and chairs where you can enjoy a glass of wine and cheese and bicsuits.
A lovely place to go to and enjoy with friends. You can get a table, a bottle of good wine & watch a movie on big screen with class! I really recommend it...
My absolute favourite cinema in the area, affordable for the level of luxury and experience you get (I've paid more for average seats at the Odeon) and the whole experience is really pleasant with nice food and drink available
Beautifully restored Art deco building with comfortable seating in a variety of arrangements. Food and drink can be brought to your table by the lovely, friendly and efficient staff.
Outstanding - They have turned a crumbling old cinema into an absolute masterpiece. Far from being just another huge chain cinema, merely attending the site is an experience in itself. You MUST go.
Splendid time. Wonderful building. Comfy chairs and a table. Bar downstairs. I had a coffee upstairs. Unfortunately I booked seats downstairs thinking ground level, no, it means basement, disabled father just managed the stairs. Never mind. Good time made up for it.
