Love the Odyssey - the intro done by staff before the film and the sofas at the back make it much more of an experience than just going to the cinema. Also, love the cheese boards and mezze platters - genius!

A great cinema experience in a lovely building, well worth the price of admission. Reasonable prices for food & snacks compared to the big chains. Very comfortable seating at tables downstairs. A bottle of wine & cheese board with your film, what's not to like?

What can I say about this place other than delightful! It has that retro feel.. the decor is lovely. You get to sit like you are in a restaurant with your drink of choice and nibbles whilst watching the movie. Very cool.

Had an enjoyable time watching Darkest Hour this afternoon, however trying to get a cup of coffee was chaotic. It was busy and people were queueing In the wrong place, orders were mixed up and staff were struggling. Possibly asking for a name with the order, finding a more efficient way of getting orders to the coffee makers and finally making it clear where coffees are ordered and where picked up, might be better for both customers and staff.

Great venue. Excellent selection of old and new movies. Pleasant staff although not the greatest service. Very civilised being able to sit down at a table with a bottle of good wine and watch the movie. Highly recommend the cheese board too. Close enough to the train station that you can walk it and not have to worry about driving or parking.

It feels like your going back into the time of great Gatsby or something its a lovely cinema and not that expensive. They have people come on and make announcements before hand and it adds a lovely personal touch, if you live in st albans or are visiting then check the odessy out

A proper, grown up independent cinema with licenced bars and snacks. Comfy seats all of which have a good view of the screen. They have a good selection of films, with a mix of current releases and classics. Definitely worth a visit.

A great local cinema with comfortable seats and drinks and snacks available for purchase at decent prices. Significantly better than going to a Vue/Odeon or other chain. The only downside is that for major releases such as Star Wars or James Bond the movie wont be available until about a month after the major players. Personally I think it is worth the wait to go here.

Fantastic atmosphere from the moment you see it's art Deco architecture to the moment you settle in to the comfy seats. The ticket prices aren't bad either. One of my favourite ways to watch a fillum.

Good-sized cinema with large screen, strong sound system and excellent mix of normal cinema seating and table groupings. Bars on two levels as well and interesting, regularly changing selection of movies. Recommended.

Fabulous independent cinema, sister to the Rex in Berkhamsted. Staffed by young people with a passion for film. The cinema has a luxury lounge in the lower section offering food and drink. Combined with a very high quality sound system watching popular and classic films here is a true pleasure.

Really good experience and very well kept. We have only visited once so far (sitting on the upper level) but are looking to go again and may try the tables at the lower level or the sofa seats next time.

Getting films a month or so after they are released at chain cinemas isn't a big deal for me but I was disappointed that Assassins Creed only showed once and was midweek so I couldn't get to it, whilst LaLa Land dominated the listings at the same time.

I think the prices are fairly comparable to a chain cinema but as mentioned, the experience is much more enjoyable.

Such a lovely cinema! Every screen has lovely large leather reclining armchairs and the space to walk down the aisles is at least double the normal size. It's watching films in real luxury! I'll be going again just as it's so comfortable. It also has a Costa and it's own bar at the top. All made even better as I had meerkat movies!
