A very well organised venue. Great food staff and accommodation. Book early
A lovely old Victorian style hotel on the outside and in the public rooms. The guest rooms had modern touches and the bathroom was first rate. My room was a bit airless, so I had to open the window to cool things down a bit. Dinner was excellent - portions just the right size so you could enjoy a three course meal and still feel comfortable at the end of it.
Quite comfortable. Little tired round the edges. Good for one night family stay
Stayed here many times in business. In the summer it can be to hot ( no air con) and open you window and your sleep may be disturbed by drunken folk on the main road below. Room quality can vary considerably. The newest refurbished rooms are good. Small swimming pool. Again if you get a good room you should enjoy your stay. Get an older room and your experience may be so so. Good breakfast in the morning and central location.
Enjoyed afternoon tea with my work colleagues. Delicious food and lovely cakes. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon
Lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
Good location.
Near city centre and has big rooms. Restaurant is also good.
Staff were very friendly but the hotel is quite run down and not well maintained. The room I stayed in was not cleaned to a good standard and as stated in other reviews had creaking floors!
Breakfast is expensive for what s on offer and could have been improved with a bigger selection.
I.have never neen to the Norfork.Royal.Hotel before untill today i.had the plesure of being shown around .thankyou to the Staff of the Norfolk Royal Hotel Bournemouth its beautiful inside tthe Staff were very polite and helpful
Love High Tea or just relax, plenty of parking underground...
Have had several afternoon teas but none beats the Norfolk Royale. The staff were attentive but not over bearing, the food was excellent and the hotel very comfortable. Highly recommendable.
Nice hotel good location bit dated and needs modernising but adequate.
Centrally located but not noisy, nice staff who are willing to help, good breakfast selection and lovely evening meals, perhaps an evening dress code should be introduced, most people dressing accordingly with the odd one or two in jeans and tee shirt. Overall very good that's why we have been here a few times and will come back again.
Lovely rooms, provided with everything needed, clean and large swimming pool, comfortable beds and good showers. Would recommend if looking for a hotel close to shops and the beach
Nice place and in the center of the city. Hotel is a bit dated
Great location & helpful staff. No air conditioning and poor shower in the bathroom.
Excellent coffee and home made biscuits. Comfortable chairs .Great for central Bournemouth
Hotel is really good, good breakfast but the room service is really wierd. On the first day they have thrown documents from the table, on the second me toothbrush, on the third my room wasn't even looked.
Good comfortable room but quite old and a great opportunity for owners to modernise the decor
Very Good for getting away from your house. Located in a very convenient location (where the are lots of restaurants.) Rooms are very homely and comfortable. Reception and staff are kind and attentive! The reason why I give it three stars though, because to get to the changing rooms it is quite tricky since you have to fidget with the card for the door. Also, the lockers DON'T accept the new one pound coin. Plus, there was a set of dust in the bathroom and room: not to forgot that in the dining there are stains on the chairs. Overall, very lovely hotel!
Note: Very nice heated SWIMMING POOL!
Lovely hotel, situated in the centre of Bournemouth. Staff friendly.
Great place lovely atmosphere staff are really lovely # miss Chelsea collins
Excellent service.
Fantastic family room with bunk beds.
The warmest swimming pool I have ever be in. I did not want to get out.
I intend to say there again.
Lovely room great service . Only ate breakfast at hotel but was very good well worth money.
Summary: The champagne afternoon tea could be improved.
The Norfolk Royale Hotel is a beautiful old building, situated in the centre of Bournemouth. We only popped in for the champagne afternoon tea, and whilst it is nice that there are still venues where this can be had, and the Norfolk Royale is a lovely and relaxed venue, the food itself wasn't the best.
Sandwiches were good, as were the scones, but the sweets weren't nice. But when there's so few people coming for afternoon tea, you can do much better.
I definetly wouldn't say its a 4 star hotel perhaps 3 at the very most I simply decided to look past certain things and enjoy my stay as it was daughters 10th bday. We stayed in Bournemouth for a girly mother and daughter weekend and chose this venue. The location is perfect your about 10 mins from the beach 3 mins from tesco express and many others stores and restaurants. The hotel itself from the outside looks pleasant.
We stayed in a executive queen size room which just looked like an average room with 2 single beds put together eventhough I selected a large double. Our bath was dirty, the bedsheets had stains which I found absolutely shocking and the entire room could do with a with a thorough professional deep clean.
All in all I would stay again but not for that price again the price should reflect the hotel and service.
Lovely Clean and Spacious Hotel, with all Covid Safety Regulations in place, including on site Parking. Room very Spacious, and also ideally located to Town, Sea Front, Park, and Restaurants. With regards to Hotel Staff, most were very Friendly and Obliging, especially the Waitress Staff who waited on at Breakfast times. Would definitely stay again.
Staff excellent. Cleaning... leaves much to be desired.
Great hotel, always taken the best care of me during my stay.
We had my birthday family lunch here. Staff were lovely. Very attentive and welcoming. Table had all been laid out beautifully.
Choice of starter was not great but most of us went for a prawn starter which was terrible. Basically prawns set in fat. Which we all had to send back. This was however replaced immediately with the minimum of fuss so all good. Remainder of the meal went without incident. Some had Turkey and some beef. Good portions of meat but not vegetables which were hidden under the meat and tiny amounts. Would have much preferred some bowls of vegetables really as very meagre.
Generally speaking we had a good time with the restaurant having put out crackers and balloons which was nice. We were the only ones there but we're a large group so didn't bother us much as had place to our selves.
Rooms were very nice but far too warm. Dinner was very good but the breakfast was awful, coffee like dishwater....
Good size rooms and facilities for professional events
Enjoyed hotel everything very good just a bit disappointed with the price of a tonic water.
I like it, lovely staff........Deff will stay here again.
A nice Christmas lunch and a quiet place fire a drink afterwards.
Spacious and clean rooms, good breakfasts, central location to bars and restaurants. The hotel allows dogs and we were able to store bicycles in the room too. The swimming pool facility was also very pleasant. Recommended.
Great atmosphere, very good decorations, and good food.
Receptionist was rude. Hotel is the most dirty hotel I ever stayed in my life. Room was big but nothing was working. Took us 3 different keys and 10 try with the last one to open the door. Every time we were trying for 10 to open the door. Tv wasn t working, someone just came up and put new batteries on the tv remote. Hair dryer wasn t working either. Pillows are full in stains. Carpet is disgusting all with stains. Walls in every corner is full of cobwebs. I don t understand where the 4 stars are coming from.
