We're from a small town. We stayed here, mainly because of the price. If we came back, I think we'd stay again. The rooms has a vintage feeling, but were modern at the same time. There are bits of history there as well, as the hotel was also Tesla's final home. Great location. Friendly staff.

Perfect location in Manhattan, many sights and activities within walking distance and the subway next door - Penn Station - takes you to other locations quickly. Nice hotel, neat room. A bit noisy. But the location and cleanliness make up for that. Note: a fee is charged for facilities such as internet, fitness etc. of $ 29 per night. With the key card you can get a free breakfast at the counter. We arrived late because it says that you can pick up a souvenir, so this is a free breakfast. But we had a delicious meal in the city. Plenty of choice. All in all a prime location for a city trip to New York.

Very centrally located hotel, which is however already aging. The lift technology is no longer suitable for the number of rooms, it can take up to 10 minutes until you are finally in your room. The corridors could use a new coat of paint. The bathrooms are clean, but also very worn out. The room itself is very spacious by New York standards. There ist an additional Facility Fee of USD 29 + taxes per room and day which hasn t been mentioned while booking the hotel.
The beds are very comfortable and we haven't heard any street noises in our room.

Nice very central area.

Nice very central area.
Room very very basic no kettle.
Bathroom very old
Clean room.
Great views.
Nothing to tell you about New York in the room no map or anything very disappointing.
Never tried restaurants in hotel yet but open 24-7.

Stay was nice, did not like the fact that with in 5 mins of checking in they tried to talk me and my wife into a time share(or something like it) for the price I was hoping for a little more upscale not to mention the staff were not the most pleasant of people

Neat and clean but the room was pretty tight. I guess that's typical of a NY hotel now a days. Front desk staff was nice but the amount they charged my card for incidentals was ridiculous. Overall it wasn't anything to write home about but it is in the middle of all the action and close to several trains and buses. That can be a plus. However, that part of the city can be very congested throughout the day.

So VERY surprised on how small the room was. Queen size bed. 1 night stand and a desk where the tv was on. All within steps from each other. View was amazing. Empire State Building MSG 34th Chrysler building. Small closet and bath a bit dated.

Very nice Art Deco hotel. It is ideally located in New York. Very close to Madison Square Garden, Time Square and the metro. The rooms are, however, a little aging and quite poorly soundproofed.

Our anniversary trip was full of surprises and the unexpected suite upgrade was one of the best parts. The upper floors facing east provide an amazing view of the Empire State Building, Chrysler Bldg. and Times Square. So close we could see the flashes of cameras on the observation floor of the ESB! Bathrooms are a little small but the art deco flair makes you feel transported to the 1920s. The staff here is very caring and professional. I thought it would be an ordinary trip to the city, and this hotel and their staff made it instead our best visit ever.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring Manhattan. Newark Airport is 20 minutes from PennStation. From there another 2 minutes to the hotel. It was built in 1929 and is in good condition. The rooms are updated. Only the bathrooms could use a renovation. Breakfast is fairly cheap to get around the corner at Liberty Bagels.

Great location however the rooms are small and old.
The bathrooms are particularly bad.
However if your looking for a place to lay your head then this is adequate enough.
Right next to Madison sq garden and a block away from Macy s.

This hotel was built in the late 20's, and was certainly evident in the art deco architectural style. The lobby and check in looked recently refurbished, and to be fair, looked superb.
On the 23rd floor.....
The hallways looked very tired, well worn and to be honest, a little shabby.
The rooms were small but solidly built. The bed was too hard for my liking, but that is personal preference. I cannot fault the cleanliness, or the extra effort the staff put into making the rooms look very clean and tidy.
The reception staff were helpful and polite, but had what we Brits would call a New York style about them.
Overall, a reasonable place to stay for exploring New York. The reasons for the stars are the tiredness of the upper floors and the hardness of the bed (but again, my personal opinion).
I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

I'm sure it's a great hotel but when I went to visit to look around and plan for my next trip to New York customer service desk wasn't that great also they would not let me and my wife and child look around the hotel unless we were already geust which does not help me decide if I want to stay there

They charge you 29$+tax for the facility fee on top of the room rates. The fee covers internet and phone calls which is unnecessary.. The rooms are rather small. The breakfast in the diner was not really good. Only nice thing is the architecture of the building.

Got a suite which was $286 then add fees when u arrive I think it was $306. No free parking after spending $300. You are directed to drive around the block which takes 20mins to the garage. The ppl there say its $73 without validation $50 after... once I get to my EXTRA small room and a upset fiance i see that the headboard is peeling. The a/c worked in the bedroom and not the livingroom. Balcony has a gate that sectioned off 1/3 so u cant use it... there isn't another room there just ur bathroom. Huge disappointment and waste of $ on top of being forced to spend even more. Hated the whole experience including the forien staff. They didnt understand me so speaking to deaf ears. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $

They are very friendly. I arrived 3 hours before check in time and they let me in since the room is ready with no additional cost. Also I check out one hr late and no charge of that. The hotel is old but they did great job in maintenance. Also, picture shows room is big but is is really small room. Location is great and closed to subway. It is 15minutes walk to time square and everything you need is closed by.

I visited this hotel with my parents for the afternoon tea, and we have loved every minute of it! The staff was so welcoming and smiling throughout our visit. The food is so delicious and mouth-watering. We will most definitely stay here again when we return next year and recommend them to all of my friends.

New Yorker is a really good hotel that is close to a lot of ameneties. Drug store is close by, Subway is close by, it's right close to Madison square garden and Penn station where there is great access to get around Manhattan area. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. The Hotel is slight outdated but can't complain on location. They upgraded the looks of the room but they are up keeping the rooms which is nice.

Terrible they nickel and dime you for a small room with a bathroom that my roommate couldn't even sit straight on a toilet. I had to share a small room with a queen bed. Most hotels have two beds. My bathroom didn't have any counter space. It is a single sink and the bath water smells. They charge you to keep your bags after checkout which is supposed to be a free service. There breakfast is full price not continental. Although break fast is not always continental they charge you a fee every day so yes I should get continental.

Awesome location and really beautiful building from the inside and out. Excellent service, rooms and bathrooms. Complete, well taken care of gym with many installations. Fast and free wifi and very beautiful sight from the windows.

I was there with a large high school group. We had trouble getting our room. Once we were in the rooms were very clean and service was excellent. Lobby was gorgeous and location was close to lots of stuff. Tick Tock, which is connected to hotel, was great place for breakfast

In the heart of everything. Close to the train, and the iconic post office. Staff is a bit stand off. Hotel is over priced for the space, but makes up for its location. Love the security and safety, and the concierge.

If I could give less than one star I would.

If I could give less than one star I would.

- Was very disappointed at the room condition.
-Bathroom was horrible, tub had holes and unclean black/brown mildew on the walls.
-Barely any space to put your toiletries.
- Wall tiles had lots of dirt in between
- Carpet was dirty
- Wyndham rewards counter tries to lure you to sign up for wyndham rewards vacations points ownership (extremely pricey timeshare spinoff) by promising you little free gifts and sending you to a 2 hours (which actually lasts close to 3 hours) sales presentation with high pressure neverending pitch (3 people back to back trying to get you to spend 100,000$ with a 22,000$ deposit for lifetime vacation points !!!).
-Would not recommend this hotel.
