Our room was great, perfect for our needs. Service was good, as were the beds. Only complaint I had was the breakfast that we prepaid for was more expensive than the menu price. Got ripped off for at least twenty dollars.

Their prices look better than other options online, but as soon a you get there you'll know that the room is really small and to have a regular one you have to upgrade and the cost of upgrading makes this hotel as expensive as other options.

Otherwise my review is three stars since the services provided are ok, location is really good near penn satation and not so far away from neither world trade center or the centeal park.

We had an ok stay.

Some people from the Hotel are nice but incredible in reception there is a Hispanic Lady who gets upset when a guest asks her something in Spanish, it would be good if they explained to this Lady that in Hotels everywhere people feel proud to speak several languages to serve guests from everywhere. A well-located, clean hotel with so much history and others doing their jobs well can lose a lot of credit thanks to just one person at reception.

Very dated rooms and without a minibar, they charged us $ 5 per suitcase that we left in cosigna, they made us enter at 4 p.m. and to leave the room they left us maximum until 12 p.m.
The best undoubtedly the location of the hotel.

3 times the same lady from housekeeping knocked on the door while I was in the room. I continuously yelled yes but she would just come in anyway. The last time she did so I was in the bathroom when she just walked right in. And asked if I needed towels. Absolutely no privacy at all!

The rooms are old. ..small .... the windows let the wind through the rooms ... and the noise from the street !!!! Help !
The breakfasts at Tik Toc are the worst breakfasts I have had .... disgusting ...
We came as a group .... the breakfasts are necessarily with sausage and bacon .... with omelet ... or waffle or pancake ... !!!!! Nothing else !!!!
Impossible to have anything else ... a shame !!!
Muslims and Jews ... flee this place. .. !!! And the others too ....
Unpleasant staff. ... we push you out of the Tik tok after 45 minutes at the table .... we ask for another coffee and we tell you a coffee to take away. ..you have been there too long! !!! Mind-blowing! !!
Not even a kettle or coffee available in the rooms. ..no fridge either .. !!!
Never again .... never again !!!
Flee from this hotel. ... go elsewhere !!!

This hotel just has a good location and they dont seems to be concerned to invest , sad. For the money i dont recommend, you can find better deal.
Minus - ; they ask 2USD per piece of lugguage deposit to store it !!! never seen that anywhere on the world :)
Resort fee 30USD.

Upon arrival, I was swarmed in the lobby by individuals trying to sell me extras and I was exhausted, just wanted to get to room. Friendly staff once I made my way to reception. Tiny room, clean, great location

Recently stayed here for 7 nights, on our arrival we were checked in by a lovely lady who in general conversation found out it was for my 60th Birthday. She then upgraded us to a room with a fabulous view overlooking the Empire State at no extra cost!! We had a fantastic time in NY, and the hotel was a perfect base, if you want a quiet holiday don t go to NY,if you want a full on holiday with lots to see and do then it s the place for you. Would definitely recommend The New Yorker!!!

Acceptable if you are passing through and need to spend a night in a central and well connected hotel. It needs a good reform, the rooms are tiny and the bathrooms ditto, at least the staff is very attentive and friendly. Right now in Spain it would be a 3 star.

Lovely hotel with a great location. We booked a renovated room and it's very nice. A bar fridge was $20 extra. The only downside is the long check in line. We arrived in the morning and were able to pre-check in and leave our bags. When we got back in the afternoon to get our keys, there was a long, slow-moving line that never seemed to shorten the rest of the afternoon. They could use either faster front desk staff, more staff or a shorter process.

Rooms are smaller than European standards! But only used it to sleep in! Staff friendly and helpful! Art Deco style hotel! We was on 19th floor. Was told that first few floors are used as student accommodation??? Nice hotel, central position for our 5 day jaunt to The Big Apple! Across road from Penn Station. Just down road from Empire State Building, Macys. Stones throw from Madison Square Garden! If and when we visit again would most probably stay here

It does not have a good cost benefit ratio. The standard room with a view is very small.

The hotel itself is an historical landmark, but it seems a little decadent these days. To start, when we got there they didn't even have our booking, so they "upgraded" our room. Gosh, if that was the upgrade what would have been the other room! The receptionist said I had a view to Hudson river, but all I got was a glimpse, since it was located in one of the "shafts" the building has. Was a little pricey for what you get, no breakfast (between $200-400 a night), there seems to be a pipe issue, you can't enjoy a shower since it never stops switching magically between extremely hot and extremely cold water, not to mention that when I filled the bath tub the water was green-ish. Not much fun overall in the hotel. Check in is a little late (3pm). Also, internet doesn't work very well, sometimes you cannot connect to wifi because there are too many users connected, and it's really slow (complimentary one at least). I travel a lot, and I have stayed on hostels as much as in 5 star hotels in the USA and Europe. I really didn't like this hotel, booked it because it was the cheapest option during new year.

The hotel is clean and many areas have recently been updated.

Here's my one major gripe: unfortunately, the WiFi requests social media details in order to use it - which I find unnecessary and creepy: this gives the hotel a very easy way to track our activity. Even once signed in, the connection was terrible - to the point where images aren't loading. I am not able to load simple applications for work, and given that this is a work trip, this makes things very frustrating. At night, we tried to open Netflix. Absolutely no success there.

If you're going to be so blatantly creepy and invasive, at least offer a decent service in return. And in this age, it is not acceptable to not offer a functional internet connection.

Small room and small bed. Lack a fridge and enough to make coffee or tea. But it s generally okay. The entrance to the hotel is quite pretty and the very satisfied with the restaurant near the 24-hour hall. Perfect location in New York.

Unique experience.

Unique experience.
For 10 days I was on the 37th floor, with views from the bed towards the Empire (illuminated at night) with the skyline in the background and the Madison SG on the other corner.
The room was somewhat small but more than enough, with a very comfortable bed to rest after spending the whole day walking, a small desk and a fairly large flat TV, wardrobe and drawers to store everything.
The bathroom is quite spacious and above all CLEAN.
The only downside was that it was not easy to regulate the temperature with the thermostat.
In general, the building looks somewhat old but it gives a certain charm for the whole history in addition to the relationship it has with all the events of the MSG.
The daily cleaning of the room, the reception staff and those who are controlling the access of the elevators to the rooms are very correct.
Despite the price of the extra views upstairs, and the supplements for number of stars and location, I would definitely return on my next visit to the city.
