We got to see sharks and sealine show. Was really nice

There is a good view of the beach from the restaurant on the upper level that sells comfort food

Horribly packed, waited over an HR in line in the street in the car waiting to get in the parking lot. Once inside another hr wait to get inside (and we are members). There were not many exhibits open, and the bathrooms we're filthy

Great, please everyone and children and adults. The territory is small, for an hour you can handle.

By far the worst aquarium in the country. At least 2/3 of the exhibits have been closed for the last 20 years. Very few animals, terrible layout, boring exhibits, nothing interactive, zero educational or informational exhibits. You've been warned!

It s a little small but they are recovering after hurricane sandy. It s a go to place to bring your children. Friday s are free or something. They are expanding.

Very exciting to be in a large dark room with the menacing sharks swimming laps in that big tank while loud New Yorkers speak amusing one liners .

We were disappointed, the fish tanks were over crowded some fish looked injured. The sea lion show was short and probably the only good thing, the sharks were in am exhibit that was poor they looked depressed.

Were here in 2012 before the hurricane Sandy-small, cozy, with a show and several halls. And the post he was restored for a long time, and I did not get here any more. Opened?

The shark exhibit is amazing!!!!!
Everything was well presented and it was very interactive for the kids.

The aquarium is very small! In 30min we saw everything! In addition to that it is under construction. Fortunately the show, which lasts 15min, is interesting.

Less than half if the exhibits are open and really long lines for the ones that are. Amd you pay full price

5 stars because they're definitely improving and I believe that they'll get much bigger and better.
Two years ago this place was nothing like today.
Now they even brought in sharks. I couldn't get to their show because it started raining but I will come back.

New shark area is awesome! Beware Wednesday free hours, the line gets about 200 people long. Tons of people even all the way to the boardwalk. Super long line.

Not a bad aquarium, but smaller than expected and a couple exhibits closed during my visit.

..We recently purchased tickets for what we thought would be a nice family day at the aquarium. As most families that take mass transit in New York, we usually take our two kid s Micro Scooters as it s a great way to shuttle them around. Upon entering most places, I usually break them down, store them in my backpack along with their helmets as it s usually not allowed for kids to be zipping around on them. However, upon getting to the door, we were told by an attendant that scooters were forbidden in the aquarium. Even when I I told her that it would be broken down and stowed away in my backpack, we were still told that we were not allowed to enter at all..that those were rules. At first, I thought that maybe we overlook a clearly stated rule..but then checking out their site, only a rule on strollers was stated. Nowhere at all does it mention scooters. Anyway..the day was a bust. If mentioned on their site..I m sure we would have left them at home and have had a nice family outing..

Still under renovations so much of it is closed, but the sea lion show is great. The sharks look miserable in that tank. It's been under renovations since Sandy. I used to come every week b4 "sandy" the kids loved it! Can't wait to see it up n running like b4.

The aquarium is too small and the temporary shark tank is too ill maintained. The seal show was good though.

One of the nation's oldest and most beloved aquariums, just off the Coney Island boardwalk right off of Brighton Beach and the subway.

Was at a private event. It was great!! All you could eat and drink. Only downside was the weather!!! It rained the majority of the time. Other then that!! It rocked!!

Aquarium was partially shut down due to renovations. Staff and shows deserve 5 stars

I love the performances and the new shark exhibit. Totally worth it.

Nice place for a short visit. Kids love seeing the fish especially the sharks. I would recommend coming early to get a parking spot.alsoprovide easy access to the beach and boardwalk. Also just a few blocks from the main Coney Island attractions.

Expensive for the size of it. Nothing spectacular. Skip it if you don't have time.

With a prominent name like that I expected way more! Will take Maritime Aquarium over this any day

Cost too much to go.....there was not a lot to see. Exhibits were closed. The one exhibit that was good was too crowded people pushing into each other. If u want to buy lunch there was a food truck in there but very expensive.

I enjoy the aquarium. Can't wait until the post reconstruction is complete so I can get the full experience

Main attractions are under maintenance...if beach near to this place would have been clean then this place is good to spend a day...

This is a fun day out with the kids or your friends. Lots of different interesting marine life. It is right down the block from Coney Island Nathan's. Stop by Nathan's for their out of this world great crinkly cut fries, hot dogs with sauerkraut, burgers, onions, and more. Moderately priced.

A great place to take children or yourself. They were updating.

Excellent aquarium despite some exhibits being closed due to construction. The fish are amazing to see. The seals and otters are a lot of fun to watch. There is even a back up shark tank with sharks and a turtle. The price is currently discounted due to the closed exhibits so a great time to visit with the family.

It was okay. We went on a summer Monday and many of their exhibits were closed. We were able to visit the Sharks and Main exhibits. Good learning experience, but I think NYA should announce what's open. We got in at $14.95 for half off.

Currently under renovation and rather small. Will be better come summer 2018 when it returns to normal with the new shark tank!

Overrated, horrible display of fish,u see more fish at pets tore in Paramus nj!!!!! Thank God for shark week! Better off staying home and save from $25 4 hour parking and $5 hotdog!!! A HAS NICE AQUARIUM! !

Horrible long lines and over crowded exhibits were not worth the wait .good thing I got free tickets would never spend money to go there.

Small but good for young kids. Price is expensive for what you get. New shark exhibit is pretty cool and the 3D show is a must. I have the annual membership so I didn t have to pay for parking but the parking lot can get full in the summer and special holidays. Do not go on 4th of July by car because you won t even get near the place by car, best to take the subway.

Have not been here in years. I heard they did renevations and added a shark tank. Really cool experience. Also they had this 4d theater for 15 mins that was really cool.

Love it went there to take my lil baby but they should clean the shark area pools you barely could see them. But the entertainment was amazing. with sea lions Cute dancing entertainment.

The new Shark exhibit is unbelievable! A must see. So cool!! Kids and adults will love it.

Great place. Opening new exhibitions soon. A lot to offer for a small aquarium. Delicious sit down diner above the beach. Just needs a sign when the restaurant closes before you trek up.

It's okay to go is not the big deal that if the show with the sea lions is very beautiful I would say the best of the place, but I would be a liar if I said I recommend it, I have visited several aquariums in the United States and this is the first one Except for the sea lions and their show, the rest leaves a lot to say, to be in New York is not the big deal, I really fall short of my expectations, the parking is another thing that I did not like, 40 dollars when I left was what I was charged that madness, look that I have visited places and never anything like this unheard of, I personally do not return there, neither for the sea lions nor for anything. Very disenchanted it remains, I do not recommend it !!!

Nice, although I am of the opinion that animals should not be locked up. I was equal to know and for a hurricane half of it is being rebuilt ...
