Everyone was very nice. I saw walking plays through theater hikes. They were great. Even with only a few props, the tales performed were done very well!

must see. great for family, fun date night, relaxing walk. great art installations
This is a great place to enjoy nature, learn about plant species and their care, get great gardening ideas, run the 5 and 3 mile loops and socialize.
Very nice place. Parking is reasonable and it has a great kids area where they can spend hours!. Use up some of that energy. They also have a membership option that is well worth it. Overall, easy parking, reasonable price, and kept up very well.
Went during the Illumination in November. Stunning!!! LOVED the TREE-magination part of the walk.
Illuminations is awesome. First time, and were pleasantly surprised by how amazing the decorations and shows were. The medallion syncs up to some of the displays, my daughter loved figuring out what it would do.
A beautiful surprise! The entrance fee is $14/person, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to fully enjoy the grounds. Wheelchair, walker and stroller-friendly walkways.
Great place to take toddler/elementary age kids. Would definitely recommend getting an annual pass if you will gonmore than twice. There are multiple play areas for kids and numerous educational activities. The special events (like the Lego event in Fall 2015) are worth the membership alone.
They also can host special events like corporate meetings or weddings.
Extensive path for hiking, jogging, and running.
Wonderful place to spend an afternoon outside. Their maze could use some improvement
Great place to put down your roots and soak up some sun. Beautiful grounds and the events and festivals are on point.
We went during the end of fall. There were no trees which has colorful leaves. We did not have anything to look for. Hardly spent half an hour and headed for home. Atleast they should reduce their ticket prices during these times.
This is my favorite place to come when I m home in the suburbs. This summer my mom and I have come almost every weekend and we never ever get bored of it.
Come for a long walk and bring some chairs to relax in afterwards.
There are so many beautiful trails here, paved and woodchip so you have your choice. And the children's areas have plenty to keep the kids busy.
A very nice place to cycle, jog or just walk around in the nice gardens and expansive forests and enjoy your time.
Get the yearly membership if you line close, it's worth it!
Visited them many times over the decades, most recently for Illuminatons, the Christmas-time tree and more lighting show.
Music from around the world. Troll hunters was interesting.
Always, a great place to visit on a free weekend. The new troll exhibit is neat and a hit with children.
This is one of the best places for family with the kids
simply beautiful, came for illumination. the lights were amazing. for young and old
I love the arboretum! Have been a member for almost 30 years. There is always something new and exciting to do here at any time of the year.
If you live within proximity then a membership here is a must. Tons of events and just a beautiful place all around
The illumination lights are enchanting, so pretty and fun. A walk around the arboretum is a great way to spend the evening with family and friends, sipping on the best salted caramel hot chocolate that has ever existed to keep warm and getting a s'mores kit from their shop and roasting marshmallows in the fire pits along the way. They have a great selection of food in the restaurant, so all in all, a fun evening was had. Don't forget to hug a tree
Been coming here for my whole life. More crowded than y used to be, but still a great place.
The best nature retreat just a train ride away from the city of Chicago. Spring and fall are gorgeous here!
I give it 2 stars because of their admission prices:
$14 Adults ages 18 64 ($9 Wednesdays*)
$12 Seniors ages 65+ ($8 Wednesdays*)
$9 Youth ages 2 17 ($6 Wednesdays*)
So it costs Mom and Dad and 2 kids $42 to get in if you don't have a membership. $42! And at the booth the ushers lean into your car to make sure you're not smuggling anybody in. So rude. Nothing but good old wealthy white people there, who else can afford this place?
Cantigny park in Winfield charges $5 a car, $10 during the Summer weekends. And it's a much nicer place. Go there.
Beautiful gardens and natural areas in the midst of large city. Special events throughout the year that are always well done. Nice cafe and gift shop.
Great place to get out and walk. Needed more nameplates on trees.
Illumination is one of my favorite Christmas events. The lights are like nowhere else
Beautiful scenery. I always love walking through the trails and hammocking in the trees. Makes the summer just a bit more perfect.
One of my favorite places. There is always something fun going on here
It's a wonderful place to return to your sanity. Very peaceful and easy to get lost in, definitely worth the trip. Can't wait to return!
It was nice. Just a bad idea for us because we dont like to be cold
Loved the trolls, even in the middle of winter when we went.
The Morton Arboretum is an extraordinary venue to know more about fauna and flora. The grounds are immaculate, the staff well trained and courteous, and events such as Illumination are rich, varied and just plain beautiful.
Small areas for improvement include better disabled access and even more directed activities.
Very beautiful. Great place for a nice day trip, but bring bug spray.
Beautiful outdoor nature adventures and promotes positive and supportive interaction with all of creation.
Gorgeous well groomed trees and flowers. Walking paths very accessible!
Illumination, light show, was spectacular. Sold out performance and everyone had a great time.
My family all went here for the light show, recently. It was crowded, but well maintained. The lights were spectacular and the children loved the little bits of interactive presentations. It was also nice to take a secondary walk around the lake and see some of the added features. I recommend going well past sun-down, though, as we got there just as the sun was starting to set, and the first 2 light displays we went through didn't come off as great as when we walked them a second time, later. Great sounds; great lights. Everyone went away happy. There's also a cafe, here. Not the most amazing food, to be sure, but the stew was moderately tasty. Kids seemed to like the pizza well enough, too.
Beautiful day, beautiful place - just spectacular! Even if you can only stay for a bit, sit and take in what is around you . . . worth the price of admission! Thank you for maintaining the Arboretum and making this place available to the public!!
Fantastic day to explore the many paths and plants.
Fantastic experience. I highly recommend it for the whole family. Prices are reasonable too and the food selection is great.
What a wonderful day. There is so much to see. Go back often.
Beautiful grounds. Very nice autumn display near the entry. We really enjoyed seeing the trolls and glass pumpkins.
We've only been here for the holiday lights, but it was awesome!
Great time went to find the trolls, took my two year old probably to Young to understand and was to much walking for him. larger than I ever imagined. big food court. Really pricey or I would have gave 5 Stars
Always good experience. Become a member if more than a couple visits in the year.
Since I was a boy scout I've been going there. It gets pretty busy nowadays but it's still worth it.
Great park to bring kids to the big walking trail with rope bridges, things to climb, and overlooks of the park trees. Best deal is to become a member and come back a couple times in the year, during each season. It can get pretty busy on nice days.
Blissful in a concrete jungle, should I be amazed at the volunteers who relentlessly help the environment or Marvel at the story of the Japanese forest in the middle of Lisle. The cafeteria is pretty well stocked and and the food would make any farm to table restaurant to shame. The stories that the forest tell via the birds and the amazing service the arboretum does to the local community and environment is priceless. If you are not a member, you should think about signing up.
Amazing! Very peaceful place to be at, and the christmas lights that they have around the holidays, were spectacular. Less than twenty dollars to enter but it was defiently worth it. Awesoem choice of drinks inside some of the huts to keep you warm. Served hot chocolate with Bailey's for afults which was a great touch to a cold night. Had some fireplaces set up to warm up. Overall a great experience.
If you are a nature lover, then this is the place to go. Take the hour long tour of the arboretum and you will discover its history.
Great place to bring the kids! The children's 'garden' is a wonderful playground and offers beautiful plants and sitting areas for adults. Bring your lunch or eat in the cafe, it's an all day affair!
Beautiful color and I like all the other events that are available through out the year. Pricey though
Very nice open space, I can't wait to bring my bike over here.
So much fun for kids now! (Growing up in the 80s, I used to dread the annual field trips here )
Huge, beautiful, clean If you're with small kids opt for the tram otherwise prob too far to walk from troll to troll
I like the place a lot. It's a lot bigger than I thought it was, with a lot more trails. They even have events. I liked it enough I got a membership.
Odense, Denmark-born artist Thomas Dambo has transformed the Morton Arboretum into a virtual troll hunt. Go find 'em!
Amazing, light shows designed with music. An amazing experience despite rain. Definitely making it a part of every year and every friend's visit!
