A beautiful 1,700 acre park. Lots of great mulched trails that are looped and have varying lengths. There are various parking lots throughout so that you can enjoy all areas of the park even if you can't walk it. Right now they have a troll hunt special exhibit with giant trolls placed throughout the park. They also have a kids area, restaurant and several concessions. You could pack a picnic lunch and spend the day. Great place for runners and bicyclists too!

Incredible collection of trees . The labels are too small and many trees are not labeled. The plaques are not located in front of the tree being described. No Porta Johns on the trails. For this admission price, there should be more places to go to the bathroom. The gift shop was an ecological wonderland.

Great place to take a walk. The grounds are large and very well maintained. My wife saw two kinds of woodpeckers. The cafe is good too. Also a great place to bring kids in warm weather; there's a children's garden, a maze and other activities for kids.

Stunning greenery, what won me over is the children's garden and it was absolutely delightful...my little girl could spend hours in it (and let's be honest here, so could I), she loved it! Will definitely be returning another time!

2. The staffs are friendly.
3. You can register yourself as member and they have reward or price when you reach some amount of visitation.
4. And when I was there, I had nice experience with their special event. Illuminating forest.
5. People who loved arts and trees would love this place.

The arboretum is a wonderful place for a membership. They have a resturaunt and shop for gifts. They also have tours to teach about the different trees and play at, they offer events and classes, the children's garden is amazing, the picnic areas are endless, walking paths, great place to ride bikes, the trolls! So many things waiting to be discovered!!! Bring your friends!

Went for Illumination. Love walking around the Arboretum in the winter with the lights. It just brings out the holiday spirit. The lights are amazing and they do change it up every year. The only tiny thing is that it is very dark on some of the paths. It is easy to lose your kids or group if you are not paying attention. We put lights on our kids to help. There was a boy that got lost we had to help. We have gone the last 4 years.

Love it!!!!

Very beautiful experience. Fire pits were a nice touch.
Enjoyed the visit.

Went on dog day and the wait to get into the Arboretum was ridiculous. I get heavy traffic, but come on now. Over 45 minutes to get to the light? Aside from needing a better parking system, where were garbage cans to accommodate the extra cost I paid to bring my dog? I would have loved the trolls more if I didn't have to carry around a bag of poop the whole time. Other than that, it's lovely!

If 5 stars is best, then let it be 5.999...stars. Why? They are classy, visitor very friendly, with many relevant programs. They have a children's experience area, well maintained walking paths, paved byways for wheeled traffic, restrooms throughout, meeting rooms, historic buildings, ... it is our respite ... we visit often which cost-justified our membership. Pay at the door or buy a membership, the value is immense. The membership card is honored at similar venues around the U.S.A.

WHAT IT IS NOT ... is not a public forest preserve or park - mutual respect expected & required for all to thrive. Stop by! See you among the oaks and the daffodils!

To be fair I went in winter but it's a great educational space and the staff are so helpful. The trolls are super fun. Will be back. My tip is to buy an American Horticultural Society pass and it has a reciprocal agreement so you can get in all seasons.

The Children's garden is awesome. Plenty of interactive play. We take advantage of Bank of America free museum offer when we visit. BOA free museum offer is the first full weekend of each month, look it up.

This was one of the first Mudkip nests. And an amazing one at that! The place is massive and there were Mudkip all over the place! I caught a ton of them. It was a very cold winter day so it was really nice that you can stay in your car and drive around the place. The only downside is that you have to pay for admission into the park.
