Very pretty. Especially liked the part where the trees changed seasons. Disappointed it was only a half hour walk.

Went during summer time. Was beautiful, especially the live hedge maze..

They gave done a great job drawing people to this place. Trolls, Lego displays, scarecrows, fall leaves and displays, spring flowers and flowering trees.

Go on a tour of the trolls over at the Arboretum. Make sure you bring bug spray plenty of water and good walking shoes.

I was not very impressed but we were just coming from Yosemite, so it's hard to impress after views we had there. But I understand for Chicago it's a nice place to take some rest from the city center.

Exciting and many trees specifically @ fall colors

I have been going since I was a child. It has changed a lot since then but only for the better. The Arb as we call it in my family is one of my favorite places.

Outstanding nature preserve, hiking trails, gardens, and children's garden. A true gem.

Lol, no. If I tell you all the wonderful things about the place, more people will visit and it will lose the one thing that I love.

Peaceful, beautiful, wildlife on top of the magnificent variety of trees and plants. Great food and gift store also.

Wonderful place. Lots of trails for walking through the different trees and plants from around the world. Children activities include a maze. children garden with activities, excellent restaurant. Currently they have a Troll Hunt to find the guardians of the forest.

Loved the lights and trails when visiting the Friday after Thanksgiving! It was such fun for the little and big kids! Also love it here in warmer weather too!

Absolute beauty. $14 for adults gets your 16 miles of trails, kids area, awesome diner

people don't know where to tell you if there's too many weddings going on at the same time and they don't even carry our Captain and Coke which is a normal drink for wedding reception

One of Chicago's treasures. If the beautiful landscape isn't enough for you, at the moment they've also got trolls!

My friend took me for the 3rd time. The trolls are fantastic!!! Well worth the visit!

If you are looking for a new outdoor family day excursion, you cannot go wrong with the Arboretum. They have great events in the fall and winter, as well. Enjoy!

Bring the family and make a day of it. Walk, bike, visit the kids gardens. You won't be disappointed.

We took our 18-month-old and he had an amazing time! There's SO much to do and see for so many different age groups and interests. We mostly stayed in one area and he was totally content the whole time. My advice, don't try to drag a little one around to see "everything" they really don't care or know the difference. You're better off letting them throw rocks and eat pinecones like they want. lol Get a membership and then you can see something different every time!

Displays get more in depth and interactive every year. Worth the drive when the crowds are light. Good place to stroll wood chipped trails as well as more formal gardens. Great place to hone plant ID skills.

Love when dogs are allowed. Makes for a better walk

Beautiful throughout old right now they have the Trolls and Lego exhibits. Their festivals are spectacular

Beautiful place if you just want to wander/hike and don't really care for what you are looking at. We went there to see the Trolls. There wasn't much information on where they were. A map gave you a general idea, but there was no mention that it's best to drive from Troll to Troll. The place is huge and there really is no way to walk from Troll to Troll simply because of distance.

Beautiful place to enjoy walks and now, they even have bikes to rent

It is a beautiful place to walk the only bad thing and what to pay to enter is a park like any other

The Illumination where they put lights in the trees is truly an awesome experience and will go back

I have visited the Arboretum just about every year of my 31 yrs. Brings me back to nature, brings me back down to earth, reminds me of my childhood and family pastimes. I love the accessibility of it throughout every season.

Has a few nice areas and multiple hiking and biking trail loops. Not sure if it was worth $14 but definitely worth at least checking out once.

This is a great place for family fun. It is great to be outdoors walking around in the fresh air and letting the kids run around outside.

Great outdoor space. Feels secluded despite being boxed by highways. Kind of pricey and any event pretty much costs more money despite being a member. The facilities are great with very upscale amenities. Lots of summer activities and displays happening. Most, if not all, trails are reserved for walking only. No biking, or even running, allowed on anything except the street (with active vehicles)

Went for the Christmas lights, very cool and a frosty night. We walked around 3 times.

Picturesque place to spend time with friends and family. It covers a huge area, and if you are into trees and botany, you will end up spending an entire day here, and would still have lots to take in. Some play options for kids too. Summers are best time to be. Fall is good too, though gets crowded.

Keep an eye for the special events. Avoid during winters.

The annual Illuminations event never fails to astound, and a brisk walk in snow or not, depending on the weather, makes for a beautifully invigorating night tour and a magnificent light display to behold! Bundle up and take your own pace! Just don't miss it! The Morton Arboretum is an extraordinary haven with focus on healthy trees, plants and education. It offers dozens of interesting, interactive classes from art and botanical illustration to painting and from a lovely gift shop on the premises to guided tours, snow shoeing and cross country and dog sledding to outdoor theatre, hiking, or shuttling, and so much more!

The troll hunt was a great activity. It took about 4 hours to hike it at a reasonable pace.

Illuminations at the Morton Arboretum is truly a sight to behold. It's about a mile walk, basically a loop of beautifully lighted trees that change colors. Some to various types of music or laser. We were there for the evening show, so the pathways are quite dark. Concession stands along the way sell hot beverages perfect for the cold weather. Can hardly wait for this year's presentation. Was told by one of the staff to see Illuminations when there is snow on the ground. It's quite magical. This is a ticketed event where you select a time slot that sells out quickly. Don't miss it! Stop by the gift shop on the way out. They have so many beautiful things to purchase.
