To the medical staff at Aurora South;

To the medical staff at Aurora South;

BE KIND to your patients. Snide comments aren't appreciated.

It doesn't take much to just be kind. I understand sick people aren't the most fun to be around but we're still human.

Took ourselves to this ER in April after an auto accident and was treated like criminal. Never seen anything like it.

Just went today for breathing treatments. The Dr. was nice. The staff made me feel like a second class citizen.
I don't want to ever go back.

I went in because of severe pain in both legs and calves because of issues with DVT. The wait in the waiting was not long about 3-4 minutes but the triage nurse was the worst. He took the vitals and then spent the next 5-7 minutes with his head focused on the computer screen without saying a word. He then wheeled me out to the waiting area where I waited for 25 minutes if not longer before I was seen. The attending doctor and nurse were both very patient and attentive. We went through the entire process of ensuring that no other clots had formed ( 4.5 -5 hours later ) before being released and advised to follow up with my primary doctor.

I Had to wait several hrs To get a bed in the E.R. But during that time, I had my blood drawn and was checked in and questioned about my symptoms. After receiving a bed I felt well taken care of by the attentive nurses and doctor.

Took my 18 year old son to the ER after Urgent Care told us to go to ER because my son was 1. having an allergic reaction to something. Rash, throwing up, fever, and doubling over in pain because right side of his stomach hurt so bad.
Took him to ER. They treat him with another steroid treatment (Urgent care already gave him) Pepcid, and gave him a CT scan. One hour later Nurse comes in, gives him breathing treatment, of course while running in and out the room to help another patient. My son is still in pain, they give him nothing. Finally I get another nurse, tell them he needs something for pain. Doctor comes in asks "why is it hurting? your scan came back normal" Then says she will get him some Tylenol. 45 minutes I grab another nurse to get the tylenol, she brings it, says doctor signed off on discharge and to wait. 45 minutes later, Me and my son go to the front to get the hell out of there, and a nurse says we can't go until they take the IV out of his arm, so I tell them to do it already. Go out to waiting room, Same pregnant girl that was in pain 3 hours before with spotting and fever, she is still in the waiting room, never called to go back to see a doctor. She walked out, said she was going to another ER. Can you believe it. I will never take my son there again!!!!!!!! Treating my son like nothing is wrong while he is doubled over in pain. Not treating a pregnant woman. UNBELIEVEABLE. AND IT WAS NOT A BUSY NIGHT BY FAR. found my doctors and nurses just sitting around the nurses stations while people were needing them. just crazy we pay all this insurance and get charged outrageous for some damn Tylenol. My son is still in pain, and guarantee he won't go there today!!!!!

My son went there while on vacation in July 2016. He received fluids and two medication in ER and was billed $10,000. His IV came out and they let him bleed everywhere and did not even bother to clean his arm up. If they think this is quality care I beg to differ.

I have been under the care of Colorado Breast Care at The Medical Center of Aurora for a number of years now. The excellence of care, process and staff has never dropped below 5-stars in my experience. No woman looks forward to a mammogram, but I do look forward to the familiar faces and warmth I always receive. Thank you all! Monica

Went in to ER for severe abdominal pain and was treated by Michelle Robinson. They determined it wasn't appendicitis and she decided to treat me for gonorrhea despite me telling her I had not had unprotected sex any time recently. Went to another doctor the next day and was diagnosed with kidney stones (which she said wasn't possible despite me having all the symptoms).
Go here if you don't mind grenades being tossed in to your personal life.

Centennial Medical Plaza, 14200 E. Arapahoe Road, Centennial, CO 80112
I went to Centennial Medical Plaza to have an abdomen ultrasound procedure performed. The Staff at the Centennial Medical Plaza, which is part of the Medical Center of Aurora, are very courteous and professional. I was check in quickly with no waiting. My Ultrasound technician s name was Tammy, she is extremely knowledgeable in her field. Before the procedure she explained everything that was going to take place and asked if I had any questions. During the procedure she was very caring and gentle and explained each step as it was performed. After the procedure she reviewed all that was done and asked if I had any questions. Over all this was a very pleasant experience and Tammy is very good at what she does. I have used the Centennial Medical Plaza in the past and it was always a pleasant experience.

A HORRIBLE ER! I'm pretty sure they would leave you for dead. I went in with a knee injury. I was crying from the pain. After waiting around for hours they sent me home and said it was a sprain. They were treating me like a junkie that was after pain pills. I went to another ER and found out that my ACL was completely torn AND my MCL was torn in half and flipped over on itself. Thank God for Centennial Medical Plaza!!! My surgery was scheduled that very same day.

Everyone was super nice, I got to the back pretty quick with about 10 people in front of me. The reason for four stars is in the main waiting room the bathroom was very disgusting, like feces all over the toilet. I came in with vomiting, didnt want to vomit in front of everyone in the vomit bags, but certainly didnt want to vomit in that toilet. For the abundance of employees they have, someone could be on top of that. It's not the best job, but it needs done.

I wish I could remember the nurse of many who attended to me. She was new to the 5th floor. She, like many was attending to my needs. However, she was continually checking in on me to see if I needed additional help, meds, assistance to bedside bathroom needs.
I thank ALL of the staff, but her enthusiasm and seeking to my post surgery needs and her kind heart was impeccable. Thank you

This was my second surgery at the Medical Center of Aurora in two years. Both surgeries were wonderful experiences. Dr. Oro and Dr. Buchanan along with the hospital staff were so organized, professional, personable, and methodical in the way everything was done! This will always be my hospital of choice. Thank you!!

Excellent care. Excellent food, served quickly and hot. While the care from the nurses was great being a fall risk I was not allowed to get out of bed by myself. Was restricted to the bed for the majority for 4 days. Couldn't walk unless accompanied. To me this was a determent to my getting better as quick as possible. Need to find some way to exercise even if it means hanging me over a treadmill so I can walk

This was our go to place for Emergency visits. I have to change my 5 starts to only 1 and if I could give 0 I would. Tonight my children where involved in an accent. My child's best friend who is 19 was rushed by ambulance in critical condition my son and daughter where with him in the accent. When we arrived to the hospital terrified and panic-stricken. the head of security Kelli an old short very uglt white women with blond hair greeted us. She was hands down the most heartless, disgusting, excuse for a human Ive ever met. As if we were not already is the worst place we could be in but to have her make everything a 1000s times worse. She could have been kind to us but she is a hateful person and should never be the person "helping" ppl deal with the worse experience of their life. Because of her my daughter was unable to get medical attention she needed and I had to take her to a different hospital where they found she broke her arm. ONE person makes all the difference in the world. And KELLI made what was already the worst night of our lives into a nightmare. I will never forgive or forget how we were treated at this hospital by Kelli.

I'm glad to see some good reviews, at least I know there's some good here. My grandfather had spine surgery here, and it was the worst experience, we will never go back and I'll try to stop anyone from going here! They wouldn't give him his medicine on time, his IV had pain medicine in it in the beginning and the iv came out and and the nurse just shrugged it off and left it, finally the swift change nurse came in fixed it hours later. They were nothing but reflective. I never leave bad reviews, I see the best in everything and this .... please if you.love yourself and love your family, please look into other options before taking them here. My grandpa just had spine surgery Friday, and we have already got him moved to a rehab center. He is so much happier there, the nurses are amazing and taking great care of him.

And to the copy and paste support system responding to everyone's comments. Save your fingers. Yeah, you take it serious, blahs blahs blahs. Don't bother with number for patient advocate because we have spoke with them and the chief of nursing already. You need to have your staff take a class on bedside manner, and responsibility. I bet if it was their family, they wouldn't have just been standing around talking about each other, they would have been tending to the patient.

Last night I went in for chest pain. Near the heart. This was waking me up throughout the night. These types of things you ALWAYS hear call 911 OR GO to your nearest hospital. Well, I woke up my boyfriend and we drove. Decided, no soap opera drama at 3am with ambulance and sirens. Chest pains were extreme and I'm sure anxiety played a roll at this point. Made it to the hospital and it felt like jail healthcare. "Sit in the wheelchair & let's see what we're dealing with." I continued to grabbed my chest when pain elevated. At one point, the was so extreme, I fell out of chair, onto the floor and and the staff handled this situation by condescending remarks "If you want help, you need to get up off that floor." "We're not here to pick up people like you. If you really want our help then you'll do what I say." Finally a nice, understanding nurse took all the stats. Understood when my pain was oncoming and proceeded. When finished, I was pushed to the back to wait for a room. Maybe an ambulance would have been better.
Finally got a room and seen the doctor. He says "I remember you. It's been about 5-6momths for about the same thing. What do you want now."
Hmmm, being ridiculed on my health standards in a hospital emergency room at 4:am. Someone is trying to make me feel and look ridiculous. I do not care if I am a hypochondriac and I'm there twice a month. Heart problems and chest pain or any or matter should not be ignored and patients should be treated with respect. I'm sure this will happen to me again, but I'll do my best to NEVER, NEVER, EVER go back to them for any type of healthcare again.

February my father was flown to this hospital from another because of a heart attack. They attempted to call my brother that wednesday but right as he answered his phone died. He called the number back and asked the front desk who called but no one knew anything as to why he was being contacted. So he shrugged it off..apparently my father was in and out of consciousness because of the heart attack so he couldnt tell them who else to call. Saturday my brother gets another call around 9:15am. My mom, brother and myself got to the hospital where the entrance had NO idea where my father was couldnt find his name for a while then when they did the security guard walked us to where we needed to be. We walked around the ICU finally walking up to a room to find out there was my father....he had passed away about 30 minutes prior to us showing up. I will never trust anyone to go to this hospital after this. At first i thought maybe they couldnt get into his phone to call us but he had a giant list of all of our phone numbers in his wallet and they NEVER tried calling us only my brother those 2 times. I will never forgive them for not giving us a chance to say goodbye to my dad..how am i supposed to ever know he was treated correctly anyway if they couldnt even try to contact his people correctly?

If I can give this place a zero stars I would. I m currently trying to go to another hospital they are telling me that my option is to sign against medical advice in order to leave and they re not treating my pain with IV pain medicine that I requested, they will only give me heavy narcotics my mouth which will take a long time to have an effect meanwhile I have chest pain and decrease o2, leg pain from DVT, back pain from recent epidural. and they still Feel like I do not need any IV pain medicine, this is the worst hospital in Colorado. I m currently waiting for my lawyer to let me know what to do.

Gee, you get told you'll have to get used to the pain and send you out without relief because "They get alot of drug users in the area" Glad I took wife to a different place for a second opinion as she's fine now. But had to suffer because of quack ER docs and process. Saw a kid with a cold go back before a man with Chest pains while waiting in the ER waiting room. Just plain stupid. Should be called Aurora DEAD. Oh and don't forget the money (as they are so fond of reminding you with their daily calls) 10k for an xray and a have a nice day. Glad other hospitals are not that bad.

Great staff, super nice and attentive. I brought my wife there at 2 AM and they were great. This was at the Saddle Rock 24 hrs location. My Wife needed to be sent to the Medical center in Aurora and I was told the ambulance ride was free. They said the consider it no different than if I had gone straight to the hospital. The staff there was also great. Very prompt and a nice as possible. We are from out of state and they have done everything they could to make us comfortable and confident. Thanks to all of you.

If google allowed 0 stars, I'd put that because this hospital Is horrible!!! I come into the hospital at 6am, I cant breathe, I'm having sever chest pain. Fews hours pass, im waiting for results and doing a breathing treatment and the registration lady kept trying to introduce. Finally once she gets in there, she's asking me questions which I clearly could answer since I was doing the treatment, she immediately got snippy and said "Ma'am Im trying to help you, so I need you to cooperate." Excuse me for following a treatment perscribed by a doctor. She then belittles me simply because Im young so I asked her to leave. Another hour passed, doctor comes in to tell me a chest xray and a EKG xame back clean and AUTOMATICALLY assumes I had the flu. Basically finding a bs excuse for me to leave. Turns out I was having an allergic reaction to new meds I told them about and apparently I wasn't worth enough time to help. My mom WITHOUT a medical degree figured it out. I had an allergic reaction for 3 days because of their negligence. What a terrible hospital! ID RATHER DIE BEFORE BEING TREATED THERE, which would probably happen with their disregard for medicine. Awful

Save yourself the time and worry: don't go to this ER! I was sent over by my doctor for left side numbness/ weakness over the weekend. The PA treated me like I was crashing her party. She kept asking "why are you here? If it was Saturday, why are you here now? Why wouldn't you come then?" Then she decided to chalk it up to anxiety. Anxiousness has never made my left side and face go numb... When I asked for an MRI (I'm pregnant and was told that the contrast and radiation with a CT is not safe for first trimester) they further pushed a CT, regardless of my worries for my baby. Finally, I asked to be discharged. She asked me why I changed my mind so quickly, I told her I was going to another hospital. NOW she's offering an MRI. I'm not staying! There's a reason that there's never a wait at this hospital. Save yourself the trouble and go to UCHealth.

I'd give the geriatric psychiatric unit of MCA a negative rating if I could. My father was in the unit for five days last month. He saw four psychiatrists in that time period, so there was no continuity of care at all. We were told we'd get updates, but we had to call and specifically ask for information. We were told a social worker would contact us about a care plan, but she never did. I finally confronted her at the front desk and asked if she was ever going to call. Ridiculous. If you stand at the desk, the nurses will ignore you. I would never take anyone here unless I had absolutely no choice--it was SO frustrating and stressful for my family.

December 31st - Jan. 1, 2020: The first visit for the back surgery went fairly well. The staff for the surgery seemed highly competent, and kept us informed every step of the way. The nursing staff on 5th floor was much the same and very compassionate.
Jan. 2nd (we arrived on the 1st) - Jan. 3, 2020: The Emergency Room was a mess. It took about 2 hour to be seen for treatment. I was expected to "rest" on a gurney, for about 6-7 hour, in a seated position of about 110 degrees, after having back surgery the day before. I was not allowed to eat anything for hours after the last test. I was there for a total of 16 hours, finally spending the last hour in a bed in the back area. The night doctor told us around 6:00 am that I was going to be admitted; after that the staff continued to tell us for hours, that there were no rooms available.
When I was finally assigned a room upstairs, things went much better. Most staff was very considerate and appeared very competent. One nurse, again from the ER, flipped my legs up to push me into the bed, to do an IV, so hard and fast, it caused extreme pain from my surgical wound. Not a word of concern from him...
I would give the surgical team, and hospital nurses a 4+, but the ER didn't earn the 1 star I gave.
I would not recommend your facility to anyone I know.

Husband was admitted to ER here. While the receptionist Connie went above and beyond, the rest of his care was terrible.

He was freezing, so the receptionist brought him extra blankets. This seemed to annoy the nurse and she threw them on the disgusting floor. The nurse also did not wash her hands with soap when she came into his room, would not adjust his blood pressure cuff, and would not answer questions.

Worst of all, the doctor gave my husband antibiotics to which my husband is allergic! My god! If he were more acutely allergic, he could be dead. Still, he has a rash all over his arms, torso and face. Unbelievable!

Go to St. Joe's or to Swedish! Any other ER.

So my grandma was brought here one night at like 9:30. She was not admitted until after 2 am. It was until 6:30am she was seen by the doctor who said they were going to run tests. So finally they ran the tests. Normally results in a hospital should not take that long but she did not hear from her doctor until after 8pm. This is the stupidest thing I have ever hurd. No one should ever be treated like that. Also when she called the nurses station at 7 to see if she could get her blood pressure and cholostral medication she was told by the rude nurses that they were changing shifts and she would have to wait. Seriously the people there are so rude to you and they just don't care. They pretend to care when they are in the room with you talking to you but as soon as they are out the door they just don't care. I find that sad. If you are in health care you should at least have some kind of heart but they don't. I will never take her back there.

my mother is in ER and she wanted to use the restroom, i tried to pic her up and take her to the restroom but she could not stand up. i asked the nurse if she can bring a bedpan so she can use. the nurse is arguing with me why she doesn't go use the restroom, i told her few times that she can not stand up and she had to go she couldn't
hold it any more, at this time the nurse is asking me if my mom can not go or she doesn't want to go. i raised my voice and told her she can not go and she is about to pee in her bed because she cant hold it anymore. nurse got upset and told me i cant stay with my sick mother and she called security to kick me out of the hospital. this is how the treat people who are in pain at this ER location. take my word and several other people here who have given this place a bad review and don't come here for treatment

I asked them to assist me with some ideas of where to pump breastmilk (as I had no idea what was going on with my hubs,) they said there was no where in the entire hospital for me to do so. I ended up having to pump in the room, with a camera, and people coming in and out. For a hospital you d think they had better practices. The blood everywhere was so gross I ended up just pouring out all that milk anyway.

Was taken here after a car accident. Worst experience ever, they didn't care or listen to me telling them what was wrong. The paramedic even said right in front of me that they didn't care what was wrong as they believed I was at fault, later proven otherwise that I wasn't at fault!
