Last night I went in for chest pain. Near the heart. This was waking me up throughout the night. These types of things you ALWAYS hear call 911 OR GO to your nearest hospital. Well, I woke up my boyfriend and we drove. Decided, no soap opera drama at 3am with ambulance and sirens. Chest pains were extreme and I'm sure anxiety played a roll at this point. Made it to the hospital and it felt like jail healthcare. "Sit in the wheelchair & let's see what we're dealing with." I continued to grabbed my chest when pain elevated. At one point, the was so extreme, I fell out of chair, onto the floor and and the staff handled this situation by condescending remarks "If you want help, you need to get up off that floor." "We're not here to pick up people like you. If you really want our help then you'll do what I say." Finally a nice, understanding nurse took all the stats. Understood when my pain was oncoming and proceeded. When finished, I was pushed to the back to wait for a room. Maybe an ambulance would have been better.
Finally got a room and seen the doctor. He says "I remember you. It's been about 5-6momths for about the same thing. What do you want now."
Hmmm, being ridiculed on my health standards in a hospital emergency room at 4:am. Someone is trying to make me feel and look ridiculous. I do not care if I am a hypochondriac and I'm there twice a month. Heart problems and chest pain or any or matter should not be ignored and patients should be treated with respect. I'm sure this will happen to me again, but I'll do my best to NEVER, NEVER, EVER go back to them for any type of healthcare again.
