The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza Review

I came in 30 minutes early for check in which took five minutes. I was then made to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time to get started. Once I was seen, the tech was not prepared and made me wait another 20 minutes in a room. She then said they were busy and I would need to keep up with the times I needed to see her again (I was getting an emptying scan done which required pictures every hour) instead of her staying on top of her own job.

They took good care of me! Lots of interruptions at night made it hard to rest.

My husband had spinal surgery last week. Most of staff was courteous but charge nurse on final night was rude and demanded we leave at 8:15pm on a cold and snowy night, because my husband reached medical clearance from PT and OT. I said my pharmacy closes at 9, and Tanya told me to try a 24 Hour pharmacy.
He ended up being able to stay and was discharged next day, by a sweet nurse that reviewed meds, but failed to notify/educate us on how to GIVE LOVENOX INJECTION!
Yes, we found out that it was in shot form, not oral. Thank God for YouTube and the internet, I was able to self educate.
Also: they were gung ho about re-cathetrizing my hubby because he wasn t peeing enough.
I had to research all about Foley catheters online, how to swap bags and how he shouldn t sleep with leg bag ( despite what they said), and how to sterilize/clean couplings-all thanks to the web, NOT the hospital he received his care from. BTW, he had bleeding from repeated cathetering attempts. It took multiple attempts.
Don t go here, I feel they made my husbands second back surgery more miserable than what it had to be.

I was attended to immediately, and left feeling confident on the care I was given.

My Dad had spine surgery and a big shout to the nurses and staff on 4 East!!! LOVE! Love their compassion and good work ethics!!!

My daughter came into the E.R. on the evening of 7/22/19 and the only people who acted like they really wanted to be here were the security guard at the metal detector, the attending R.N. (Jared) and the P.A. (Katie). They treated my daughter with respect and care that you expect when you find yourself in a medical scare. The r.n. who actually checked us in acted like we ruined his evening by having the nerve to come in! The gal who was assigned to do an ultrasound came in and acted as if we were to dumb to comprehend what an ultrasound was and how it was to be conducted. It took for me to snap at her before she stopped talking to my 24-year old daughter like she wasn't in elementary school! Then you've got the thick, blonde r.n. who sat at the desk all night (loudly) discussing other patient's issues. And laughing about another patient refusing to take his meds and vomiting! UNBELIEVABLE!
This USED to be an amazing hospital but it has gone completely downhill!

The Dr. was very busy, but most E.R Dr.s are. They couldn't find what was wrong with me, but not their fault E.R.s are limited on speciaties. After the Dr. explained results and what to do next she said all the nurse had to do with give my prescriptions/directions and be on my way. I waited an hour just for a prescription and my fiance stated he could hear the nurses just joking and talking (being obnoxiously loud). I ran the bell and asked her where my things were, she immediately came back with everything, so we knew they were just not doing their work on time and pushing people off. Dr. was a about a 4/5, and the nurse less than 1/5. I gave an average.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. They made sure I was comfortable.

If you have to be in the hospital, I would recommend Aurora South Medical Center. I've been in other hospitals but this one had great Doctors and wonderful nurses. The nurses really make the stay good or bad, so my 6 days after back surgery was amazing.

Extremely friendly & caring staff who put me at ease, and most importantly kept my surgery on schedule!

The forms and registration part of the appointment went a little smoother than in the past. I liked the new "electronic" forms completion process. The exam was a little more annoying than usual. The tech called me by the wrong name, which annoyed me at the onset. Then, she kept asking me questions in which I could not understand what she was asking (even her spelling the words made it difficult to understand). This exam is difficult/intrusive enough without trying to decipher what someone is asking when English is not their first language.

The ER was ready for me and assigned me a room immediately. I received plenty of attention and was released a few hours later after being "patched up." Thanks for all you assistance and care!

I came in for a follow up mammogram. This was my 3rd trip in since November. The ladies that took the images were nice and professional. BUT was very disturbed by Colorado Breast Care seeming policy of pushing Ultrasound tests even though my spot is minuscule and hasn't changed in 3 visits AND my health insurance doesn't pay for it. I feel like they are pushing tests that are not needed.

I do not recommend this hospital by any means.
There was a sense of discomfort in the chest, I took only the ultra sound of the right chest here by the introduction from the home doctor, but the bill is $ 2900 later
I just did ultrasound on my right chest.
There is a separate request for the doctor, which is $ 132
It seems that $ 2900 is a facility fee.
The discount with the insurance company was reduced to around $ 1,500 and the actual cost was 20% of this, but I think it is too expensive and strange.
I have done three breast cancer tests so far, but this is the first hospital so expensive.
I paid $ 100 for my self-paid bill later, using ultrasound and 3D mammo at another hospital.
We know that one hundred changes in price depending on the hospital, but this time it is too bad.
If you ask the receptionist about the price in advance, it will change according to the cover of the insurance company and there will be no clear price explanation.
Never again, I wrote my first review of my life so that others would not have this experience.

I got an ultrasound (right side only) at Colorado Brest Care Center of Aurora.
I receive a bill from them $ 2900.
My insurance negotiates discounts with health care then bill was $ 1500.

Why I need a pay bill as a hospital?

We have had excellent care by everyone connected with the hospital. We are also impressed with the cleaniness of the hospital. We would recommend The Medical Center of Aurora to everyone without any reservation.

Staff friendly, informative and helpful. Lost star because the wait time for a scheduled appointment was a bit long. Total time should have been approximately 20 minutes. I preregistered so I spent extra time getting in 15 minutes early and then had to spend another 15 waiting for test. Took an hour.

This is for the Behavioral Health Department-Adolescent. Horrible. The children do not feel cared about, self-harming actions were not properly investigated and allowed to continue, the discharge did not include a review of the safety plan with the family, prescription meds were administered without parental knowledge, when the metal detector went off on visitors the staff said 'don't worry, I trust you' without a wand search or questions, the lockers for the visitors have locks which the staff holds the keys - I was able to walk behind the guard, pick up my key, use it to retrieve keys and phone, and return the key without the guard noticing, the PHP patients (again adolescents) were told they could smoke as long as it was across the street-off hospital property so the staff wouldn't get in trouble, the PHP patients have 1 hour of unsupervised lunch, the PHP patients are allowed to go off site during breaks and lunch, cell phones are allowed in the therapy group sessions, inpatient and PHP tell the patients they shouldn't share contact info, but knows they will--so whatever. This is the fourth hospital we have dealt with, and by FAR the least helpful, effective of them all. I thought it could get no worse than our first facility--I stand corrected!

had longboard crash broke collar bone , 6 road rash injuries. was given pain meds and had x-rays. injuries were not cleaned. put in sling and sent home. my shirt covering injuries, was never removed to inspect injuries. by the way not the correct sling was given. would give a 0 review but cant do that

when they found that im disabled and have no insurance, my nurses changed and then no more pain meds. then quickly sent home. this is bullshit america.

This is a great hospital with excellent staff and amazing doctors. The cardiologist here are great and offer a ranger of cardiac services. The nurses are prompt to answer call lights and answered questions when asked.

Where do I start... I can t believe this place is allowed to operate at all. Worst experience ever.

I'm pretty sure ER means emergency room or it's a place you go when you have a EMERGENCY. This place is a JOKE. The nurse's frolic around talking gossip and could give a sh** less about patient's there. Wasted 4 hours for nothing and all I saw was a sorry ass nurse.

If I could give this less than 1 star I would. Go in with major pain in my hand after work and I go to download my insurance card to get it to the receptionist. After several minutes trying without Wi-Fi (they don't get service in their building). I ask for the Wi-Fi password... the receptionist gives me it's the same as the log in just lower case... I tried and tried and couldn't log in. Asked again she gave me afmguest... that didn't work. Then she blows me off to help the next person in line.... professional... still was not on the internet to get my insurance card. Asked someone else then got... oh it never works for anyone... can't trust a place to do my xray and read it correctly when no one there knows how to sign on to the internet and has that lousy of customer service skills. Then on my way out I was told not to come back. I chose to write a review to save others from bad service while they are already injured. Also posted to yelp. I am bot big on doctors and it takes a lot for me to go in, glad to say I will not be back there ever again. Take my guaranteed insurance no at where it is wanted. The staff that was there on 6/11/2018 @6pm was the worse customer service experience I have ever had at a doctors office.

Very disappointed in the Labor and Delivery dept. Was there on Saturday as my great granddaugher was in labor. Nurse was not personable at all. I worked this dept and know how families are suppose to be treated. After baby was born she would not allow my daughter to touch the baby until it had it's bath. We waited a very long time and finally had to leave as members of my ggd's family came. So my daughter never got to hold her granddaughter and left in near tears. Would not recommend this hospital to new moms to be.

The outpatient wound care clinic has provided exceptional care for me and my friend. They have cared for more than one issue and I would recommend this clinic to anyone in need of care for a wound!

While the ER & information transfer left something to be desired, the cardio room & staff were very helpful, caring, and personable!

The care and concern that I received was beyond what I expected. They are an amazing group of medical professionals and I won't go anywhere else for mammograms or MRI's in the future. I was coming from a really bad experience with one of the major radiology centers in town. I was so impressed with their bedside manner and how the talked to me and explained the procedure I was having. Every person I came in contact with treated me with that same level of care. Well done Medical Center of Aurora!!

after many tests, they diagnosed my pregnant wife's aortic aneurysm as a pulled muscle. if you really like walking the wild side, with a high probability of death if something serious is wrong with you, definitely go here

Very friendly staff. I was very worried at first but Debbie was very kind and wonderful at explaining things.

I was treated with professionalism and respect. I was made to feel as comfortable s possible under the circumstances. Care providers and imaging specialists were continually informative. I cannot express how well I was treated from my initial ER to Discharge.

Fortunately we have only experienced a ICU twice in our lives, but have to say the nursing and doctors at TMCA were outstanding! If there is better nursing in this city, country, world I would be greatly surprised. ICU nurses rule! Our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who cared so well for my family!

What I had to go in for was easy and quick. Staff is very helpful

Rude ER staff, short, not sympathetic to my anxiety & difficulty breathing, literally rolling their eyes, didn t answer my call for 45 minutes, etc. And RIDICULOUS bill. I was there for a couple hours, got labs, 2 bags of saline, no considerable time spent with staff, and $8000 later....Why should I pay for such awful service?? I contacted them and got this letter back stating services provided were appropriate . Stay away. They don t care about their patients, only a paycheck.

Incompetent staff, nasty food, long waits for everything. If you were looking for a dump this is the place to go...

I had a couple of simple procedures done at the Medical Center of Aurora and all of the staff that I encountered were friendly and helpful. Each of them provided me with helpful information and did a fantastic job making sure that I was comfortable. I even left with a few granola bars and a cold bottle of water. I will be going back for another procedure in a few weeks and feel less anxious this round due to the outstanding service I received.

Don't come here people I was told they don't have an mri machine so they couldn't help me also if you give them the same attitude they give you watch out you will go on a 72 hour hold they really need some training for bedside manor because if someone is in pain don't just come in and say what am I going to do that the other docs didn't do I am very angry but I didn't dare express that for fear of being put on a psych hold because that was done to me once before I was just trying to get someone to listen they don't even do that right how would they feel if it was them or their loved one just saying.

My daughter in law came to this hospital for an emergency c section. The staff treater her, the baby and family very well.

My mother has been a patient here several times. She likes the inpatient hospital staff and the service, care and attention she receives from them.

The ER on the other hand is atrocious. The wait time is unbelievable, 4-5 hours at least and that is when coming in by ambulance! Some of the ER staff are okay, but the rest are not. They treat my mother okay, but treat me like dirt when I am with her. They talk down to both of us, like we are stupid.
I have been in and out of hospitals all my life (65 years) and I KNOW a lot about medical stuff and I know good physicians and nurses and great bedside manner and medical staff that really care about the patient. This isn't the place!!! I do not appreciate being treated like an idiot. My mom is elderly (89) and has some dementia, so I must be her advocate. They need to give some classes to most of the staff in the ER on bedside manner and treating the family like human beings.
I am giving the facility 3 stars, mostly because of the hospital inpatient stay.
If you have an option, go somewhere else.

Possibly the worst hospital I have ever been to. No bed side manner. The nurses will actually mock you and then avoid you the rest of your stay so you can t get their name to report them.

Had an incident where a doctor injected me w an anti psychotic drug for vomiting. Went into convulsions and sweating and the nurse told me it s a choice if I wanted to continue convulsing. I was told, my drug induced convulsions was a decision I was making.

They grossly overcharge for their services. Got a 12k hospital bill for a 4 hour visit at the hospital.

I have called the ethics line, as well as customer service and they just always tell you to report it to a diff department. Nothing actually gets done, they don t care. All they want is your money.

I was under the impression The Medical Center of Aurora was created to help the local citizens of Aurora. However, my entire family had a completely different experience. They were extremely quick to commit a family member to the high risk portion of the facility. We were given misinformation several dozen times, and some of the policies and procedures set in place she be questioned. I urge the public to stay away unless they have no other option available.

After my friend attended their mental facility for trying to kill her self she tried it again on a Monday after she got out the past Friday she was more successful this time and is now in the hospital

I was sick and out of town for work, so I was grateful to be seen on a Sunday.

I have been coming to the Medical Center of Aurora for the past ten years. I was in the emergency room with my son recently, and everyone gave such great care. I truly felt that everyone was compassionate, and really cared about the well-being of my son. I wouldn't take him anywhere else!

Just had wrist surgery and the entire staff was very friendly and thorough. I was taken back and only had a 15 minute window where someone wasn t with me and the anesthesiologist was very nice. Checked on me even after the surgery where he then did a nerve block for my pain as I had said no to it 4 times before I gave in. Day surgery does a great job

I went to the emergency room last night because I had a severe toothache that kept me up. All night long couldn't eat. So I went to the emergency room last night and the lady was rude and treated me like I was a drug addict and was there for just pain meds. I don't ever take pain meds. And the one time that I'm in so much pain and just wanted to get some sleep, I was treated like I was out seeking pain medication and she could have simply checked my urine. And seeing that I don't even smoke weed. Witch last night I almost did just so I could get sleep, very very disappointed, had me in tears when I left,

Very bad. Gave me to much medication and I got very sick. Watch your care staff make sure they are doing things right. Pain meds and sedatives should not be given together

The Medical Center of Aurora has set the bar for excellence in patient health care delivery. It should be, in my opinion, the national standard for all other hospitals to aspire toward.
YES, they are that GOOD!!!

We went in knowing that it was an UTI, just needing the doctor to prescribe antibiotics and be on our way. I understand there's an urine culture procedure as we had done in the past, with other urgent care facilities. At other urgent care, the bill is usually around $300, and my Blue Cross will pick up the payment. At this facilities, the cost is $3,412.58 + another $473 for the doctors fee (which later I received). So the $3,412.58 was just for the tests and facility use!! I asked for an itemized billing, but have not yet received. The statement just states 'Emergency Services' Health Care!? I think NOT, it's robbery during people's hour of needs! My insurance has already paid out $668.51 to them! Will fight this! DO NOT GO there. I will update on the billing situation.

I recently had a a CT scan and found the experience very easy. The staff was pleasant and very willing to explain what was going on.

Admitted for a week on progressive floor. Nothing but excellent care. From the doctors, the awesome nurses down to the cleaning staff and cafeteria workers. One of the best hospitals I've ever been to!

Emergency room staff is outstanding. No waiting to be admitted.

They were very accommodating, quick, and even took me early as I had arrived early.

If I could give a 0 rating that would be it. I have been in the waiting area for more than 2 hours. When I spoke to a nurse , he basically stated I will be seen but my visit was not "URGENT" . He is nowhere near qualified to make such a remark. Stated I could be upset but it won't make a difference and threw the pen at me to sign the form.

Total misdiagnosis!!!!! The doctor told me I had Shingles. Nope. Never did develop a rash (I don't know what she thinks she saw). Good thing I didn't buy the prescribed cream for $776. Won't come back. Plenty of other good hospitals in the area

Amateur doctors with bloated heads. 40 mg of prednisone to a patient that has never taken it is lacking discernment to say the least. I won t mention your name - if a patient tells you what works for them maybe you should listen. While we all have the same anatomy, we all have a different physiology. I think I know my body better than you, but no you can figure everything out in five minutes. Please learn from this - good health to you MD

This was my second surgery at this facility and both have been very positive. The staff is very kind and treated me with respect,

My mom was at TMCA for two months earlier this year. The care she received was outstanding. It didn't matter if it was a housekeeper, physical therapist, CNA, nurse or physician, everyone knew what they were doing and showed genuine compassion and concern, not only for my mom, but for my entire family. We will be forever grateful for the outstanding care we received.

My birth experience at this hospital was absolutely incredible due to the stellar nurses in Labor and Delivery, as well as in the Mom & Baby recovery unit. This is a top notch facility and the staff are incredible. If we have another baby I wouldn t dream of going anywhere else! Thank you to all the staff who pour their hearts into their jobs, I will never forget your care and support.

I have been coming to this clinic yearly for many years. I drive from close to Buena Vista and could choose other clinics but I like the consistency, professionalism, easy in and out. Thankfully I continue to test negative. Thanks for your great work.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! My husband recently had surgery there which resulted in a stay on the 2nd floor PCU. Everyone from the doctor, nursing staff (in the OR and PCU) to the housekeeping staff were friendly, attentive, professional, kind and compassionate. Absolutely hands-down the best hospital experience we ve ever had!

My father in law saw the The PA Marcia Wojciechowski. She was horrible with her so called nurses/medical assistances. Their emergency service sucks, and we felt Uncared for. Had to leave and get treatment at another medical center

Out 3 ER visits in 48 hrs they were the best! Dr. Sullivan was very attentive to my concerns. The nurses are good also. Thanks for the 3 am fix..feeling much better now.

Dr. Faulkner was quite patient with my questions as I m sure my visit overstayed his time slot. I ve been burdened with shoulder issues for the past 3-4 years; relocating in Denver last December. He was diligent in repairing my right rotator and quickly discovered the reasons for my pain issues with my left shoulder implant. I m totally confident that I will be able to get back to my artwork sometime soon with his surgical direction.

I had my son at the Medical Center of Aurora, and all the staff was very friendly. The rooms was outdated, and the billing center is full of incompetent people that do not know how to do their job. They were asked by the insurance company to submit an itemized bill, and instead they just sent me a bill, for it with out any indication that that the claim had been admitted. I then called and they said the insurance company had declined it, when all they had requested was additional information, it took them 30 min to give me this information. If you have to use this hospital I would recommend that you look over your billing statements thorough, so that they don't try to screw you over too.

Thank you Aurora Medical Center for everything you do. This is one of the best hospitals I've been to. Here I had my child and they treated us the best. After about 3 years later I returned with my other daughter and they treated me like I was the only passer who had super friendly and helpful, and exellent help, pity that I do not live beyond because I would continue illendo every time I had to go to a hospital.

Had I read these two reviews before taking my wife to the ER I definitely wouldn't have come, but I didn't. Nurses hooked her up to an IV half an hour before the realised it wasn't even dripping. Lack of bedside manner from nurses. Not attentive at all. Go to Swedish.

This is the second time that I ve felt so unwelcome by nurses at this hospital. As an African American woman I felt like I was treated different from other visitors. The charged nurse in the ER , I don t recall the name, but I called in with a concern and I was aggressively spoken to and then hung up on. I do not recommend this place at all. They ve triggered strong anxiety.
