Samantha was an excellent server, friendly, fast, efficient and knowledgeable. The Bison burger and Reuben were fantastic! One draw back, the fries are usually luke warm or cold. This is too bad because they are handmade there and are really good quality and could be delicious if they were hot. French press coffee and creme brulee where yummy!

This is my new favorite spot. Holy hell. Absolutely nothing to complain about. All the ingredients are locally sourced and absolutely pefectly prepared. I had the braised short rib with fried brussel sprouts. Not my favorite vegetable by far but I now have a reason to love them. Hands down Five stars.

Manor Tavern is a nice restaurant and has a large menu full of local meals. The food was very well prepared and the service was pretty good. However, the prices are a fairly high so if you're looking for a quick and less expensive meal be careful. Otherwise the restaurant is very pretty and has a great monkton feel.

It is a lovely horse-country setting and the food is always delicious. It is a nicer upscale menu with a good variety of options. Pay close attention to the specials for delicious choices. It is on the high side in pricing, but well worth it if you want to enjoy a good meal in a great setting.

Prices are way too high for quality of certain dishes. Grilled Cesar salad is $15 which consisted of half an ice bug lettuce head with drizzled dressing and some seeds because of the romain lettuce recall. The grilled part was the lettuce which they can't do on iceburg. No effort was made to make it actually taste good. Truffle fries are delicious but that's about it.

The hot crab dip appetizer alone is worth the visit alone. 2/3 times I ve been the service has been great the third time the entrees took over 40 minutes to come out so that s why I give it 4 out of 5

The most beautiful setting with the most impeccable staff for a beautifully done farm to table meal at a reasonable cost. The wine and beer menu is nice and bar makes unique cocktails. Great for anything from happy hour to romantic dinner to group meal.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THE RESTAURANT WEEK MENU! A friend and I went to Manor Tavern for lunch this Restaurant Week and ordered from the chef's special menu. While the appetizers were good, the entrees and dessert were terrible. Hands down the worse oyster po boy I have ever tasted. Absolutely tasteless, completely dry and pancake flat. My friend's fish fillet over a giant pile of french fries (no veggie or garnish--just an unbattered fillet over fries) was little better. The lemon and raspberry cake was a dry yellow cake with pink fondant icing and a dollop of runny whipped cream on the side--no sign of lemon or raspberries. Very disappointing, Manor Tavern! And all for $25! Restaurant Week here seems to translate to "let's empty out the back of the freezer, slap a fancy name and price on it and new people will order and think it's great!" Well, it wasn't and we didn't! The manager even acknowledged how bad the dessert was and that we had the last of it, and as a magnanimous gesture took the coffee off the bill...no offer of a replacement dessert to go--cheap move. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that the waitress was outstanding! That said, we won't be back. Maybe if we had ordered from the regular menu? We'll just have to wonder...I've wasted as much money here as I ever will.

I can't believe I lived so close to Manor Tavern without visiting. The menu moderately price with many unique items to choose. I found the service to be top notch leaving nothing to ask.

Our dishes were the Surf and Turf, Chicken Verde and Chicken Fingers and Fries for my daughter.

We had the most delicious Blackened Shrimp with the in house sauce. My wife and I loved our meals and the portions were so large we had leftovers for 2 days.

My daughter (7) raved that this was the best chocolate milk ever.

Manot Tavern is closer thne you think from anywhere in central Maryland and if you a special time and a beautiful drive visit Manor Tavern.

We first visited for my birthday in August. It was a wonderful evening with quiet atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food and drinks. We were on a drive through the area and decided to stop again to visit one of the two bars in the Manor. It is a nice place for a short stop in the bar or a meal.

The food was good, service was good BUT they would not honor our gift card. It did not have an expiration date so it should have been honored. Shame on the restaurant manager tonight!! We will not be back and will be sure to share our experience with others.

Dinner here was lovely. Great service and amazing food with a beautiful ambiance. Lunch on the other hand was sub par. The burger was so-so and the service was less than so-so. Despite the place being empty she could hardly keep our waters full and wasn't very professional. Quality of food and service should be as high as the prices.

This place is great for the holiday brunches. Its exactly all you would expect and so its great to walk in and have a holiday brunch with your family and all the great bunch buffet staples are there. My only gripe is that sometimes it can be pricey but the itself doesn't always justify the price. But overall its a win for holiday brunches.

Had a really nice evening at The Manor Tavern this past Friday. There were 8 in our group. We met first in the bar for a drink and then had dinner in the dining room. The bar is inviting, but true to form, was too crowded for our largish group. For dinner, our server was attentive and knowledgeable. The menu has a lot of options. They highlight their sauces in several dishes on the menu. We ordered a few items with sauces. I found some of them to be excellent and some of them not special at all. The tomato parmeseam soup, roasted brussels sprouts, French dip sandwich, grilled cesear salad, and pork chop special were big hits with our group. Prices are fair. Portions are ample. They have a wonderful outdoor space which is not open right now because of cold weather but also the outdoor bar is being reconstructed. I am looking forward to returning and hanging out at the outdoor bar. My husband and I have had some nice evenings sitting outside at the bar, enjoying company of locals, enjoying the beautiful setting, and having a couple of drinks and dinner.

Valentine's Day 2012 - My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience. The menu was very unique and we loved every bite. Our waiter was very attentive and we had the owner/manager stop by to ensure everything was perfect. If this special menu is any inclination as to the direction the new owners plan on taken this restaurant I applaud them.

We stumbled on the Manor Tavern by accident. It seems "that even a blind turkey finds an acorn every now and then". While waiting for the thick fog to lift to view the fantastic sunflower display on the farms near Monkton , we decided to do a Sunday morning breakfast. Thinking we were likely miles from a restaurant, we used our GPS to seek the nearest breakfast place. To our amazement we found that we were only 3 miles from a 'Manor Tavern'.. so we decided to try our luck. Wow, what a surprising treat we enjoyed. The granola pancakes, eggs, house-potatoes, and coffee were outstanding and the friendly and efficient service was tops. We MUST re-visit the Manor Tavern for dinner in the near future!

We have enjoyed many dinners at the tavern - overall good food and service - however very disappointed in our experience at Breakfast with Santa 2018. Seating was not organized - reservation was for 2 adults and a high chair - they ran out of high chairs - so we ate with our son on our laps. Buffet was extensive - lots of options - however the food was cold (eggs, sausage, biscuits, French toast, bacon- all cold). We were lucky that we were first in line for photos for Santa. Santa was very nice and authentic looking. We left at 1115 and the Santa line was extensive. We do not recommend this event unless you enjoy standing around to eat cold food but pay for a gourmet meal. Also things they don t tell you - tip is already included (we had no issues with our server - he was good, nice, and prompt), coffee and orange juice over priced and not included in the buffet. We would have been better off going to the local fire house. We will return for a normal dinner again but not their events.

Not the quality food or service I remember. It took a VERY long time to even get our soup at lunch today. And when we did, it was the smallest cup of soup I've ever been served. It was tasty. My crabcake was okay, not great and the amount of shrimp on my Daf's shrimp dalad sandwich was pretry skimpy.

We visited during "happy hour" sitting in the bar area, and expected to get the discounted happy hour prices. But our server told us because we ordered an appetizer, burger and a salad from the menu we weren't entitled to the happy hour prices. Seriously...
Our server was kind, but very unprofessional. She tried to read the specials from a sheet of paper, but confused her wording. The food wasn't the greatest, just fair.
$68 for 2 Jack & coke, 1 beer, springrolls, burger and a small salad.

What a mess. The foyer rug is dirtier than the rug in my tack room. Staff at the front door continued their private conversation until I said, "pardon me." I watched an elderly couple struggle to get through the front door with canes. The staff did nothing. I stepped forward and helped them. I went to the bar to wait for my dinner companion. We had one drink served in a jar and a appetizer of mushy crab dip and cold toast. When we were ready to go to our table, we were told to carry our appetizer and drinks ourselves. The wait staff looked shabby and very casual like they were working a crab deck somewhere. Our waitress was nice but obviously untrained as she blundered through the specials. We had what looked like a crab cake and scallops that were under cooked on the inside. Surrounding tables were unbused and there was a big spider web above the fireplace were we were seated. And if that's not unpleasant enough, the place was so hot both of us had beads of sweat on our faces. The occasion was a business meeting we did not get to it. We just wanted to get out of there. I will not be going back. Also. prices were high for the bland, poorly prepared food.

Historical and local watering hole and feeder for Monktonites and nearby horsey set. Expect plenty of regulars in the bar. 1/2 price bottle of wine on thursdays. Packed after big race days. 2 quieter dining rooms for nice family dinners, plenty of menu options. Great service. Fan of the french dip personally.

Three of us visited the Manor Tavern for a late lunch recently, and while the food and atmosphere were both very good, the kitchen was extremely slow. We had only ordered sandwiches, but it took about 45 minutes to receive our lunch.

This was our table the other picture is over our heads.
There were relying too much on the reputation and not paying attention to the details and aesthetics and quality of food.
My wife got the crab cake and I got the fried shrimp.
Both were mediocre at best
Sad that a once great place with a fine tradition of quality food is slipping

Had a quick dinner in the bar. The Hostess refused to sit us at a booth, which there were four available, stating they were Reserved; however, we were there for over two hours and no one sat in the booths. This was annoying and frustrating.

We had drinks and appetizers in the bar. The food was good as was the service. It's a cozy place - I used to eat here a lot years ago but don't get up this was as much now. The food was always good then and the inside is still very nice - warmly decorated and cozy atmosphere. No complaints.

Everything we ordered was overcooked and my wife's "cauliflower steak" was comical in proportion and completely devoid of flavor. My burger was like shoe leather, and clearly reheated.

I don't get why this place is so highly reviewed, someone needs to be watching in the kitchen. Way overpriced for the bad quality, two stars for excellent service.
