Heard a lot about this being one of the best hotels in Manchester.
Location wise, not too bad. But there are good hotels by Hilton and Marriott closer to central area than this hotel.
I stayed during renovation so never saw main lobby. The back door lobby was just a normal 2-3 star hotel look alike.
Room was very good, clean and with all amenities. PERFECT!!
A good option if u want a big room and are not on a tight budget

Usually fab hotel but we booked last minute and got suite facing building works on the first floor so went to sleep listening to party music from dowstairs in banqueting and woke up to banging and building noise. Request river view and higher floor as those rooms are better and you won't get disturbed

Large suit was airy comfortable and had a pleasant stay. The night carpark attendant was so polite and helpful! The bar is always bustling and the terrace view is nice at night. Wish I d tried more of the facilities and stayed longer. Only down side was parking is expensive considering other local charges. Other than that a fantastic hotel close to the town for every thing you could want.

You have to pay for Wi-Fi. The public "Guest" Wi-Fi won't let you have a Skype Call, FaceTime, etc.

Why do you have to leave a Hotel Room and find a Cafe to make a Phone Call?

So - Whatever your Room Rate is.... ADD Parking, ADD VAT, and ADD daily Wi-Fi + TAX.

Wouldn't go back...

Service was good and private room was nice. Would have been good if the terrace outside the room had also been reserved just for the people using the room. Food was good, although my Chicken main meal was a little bland.

Last night we were lucky enough to be winners of experiencing the brand new menu at The Rivers Restaurant, Lowry Hotel. First, I would like to comment about the staff, they were all very attentive and engaging. The menu was incredible, we both ordered different for each course, so we could experience a sample different things. My husband had the pigeon to start, something he had never had previously, he absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend and indeed have again, I had chicken terrine which was enjoyable with the shiitake mushrooms. Main's he ordered steak blue which is something he would typically order, the flavour was incredible. I had the roast lamb which was literally an explosion of flavour (as pictured) we also ordered the leek and bacon side dish (as pictured), this was literally exquisite. Desserts my husband wouldn't typically order a dessert, however in order the experience something from each course he did order the cheesecake and I ordered the salted praline profitorole (as pictured) and both had the wow factor. We would both highly recommend the new menu and already planned our next visit and both look forward to returning. Thank you again, Karen & Matt x

Just slightly out of the way, just in Salford the Lowry Hotel. I was there for an event, so can't comment on the rooms and other facilities, but the staff and facilities for our event were very good. Attentive and helpful, friendly staff and a great venue with lots of options. We were well looked after and the catering/refreshments top notch. Recommended, at least for a Do.

But place to stay in Manchester, staff very friendly and helpful to your needs. Pricey but that's what you pay for quality especially in Manchester. Easy walking distance to centre and close enough to get a train out into the local area if required. Building site opposite which will be completed before end of year which was not an issue.

Top 5 Star Hotel. Easy to reach , on site parking on the doorstep. You are greeted at the door by a courteous doorman.

The decor is modern and very clean. Not stayed in the rooms but have only ever heard positive reviews about them.

For lunch, afternoon tea, dinner or just drinks, the service is excellent. Lovely seating area, very relaxing. All the staff a well trained, very polite, happy to please.

The view is pleasant of the canal, plus the there is an outdoor seating balcony. Indoors is picturesque.

Great place for a meeting or for social. Highly recommended.

Great service from the Front door to the staff waiting on tables . Only problem was the car park was closed so parking was difficult. Don t know who s fault that was maybe not the Lowrys . Afternoon Tea was faultless

In imminent need of redecoration. Cracked tiles in bathroom, scuffs everywhere, chipped furniture. Nowhere near worth the money. Only saving grace is the attentiveness of the staff, lovely people, shabby hotel.

Good location and main hotel areas are fine. Room is tired, bathroom hadn't been cleaned...fake tan handprint on tiles and wet used towel on top of shower head. Still waiting on a response from the hotel!
Plus side...Great smelling complimentary hand sanitiser!

Gorgeous hotel. Went for the Manchester Arndale Awards with my store. Venue and food is really nice. Drinks can be a bit pricey. Didn't stay over so do not know about the rooms, but from what I've seen, I bet they are top notch.

Such a lovely hotel and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was absolutely beautiful. I went to stay for my anniversary with my boyfriend and we visited the spa in the hotel, with such lovely facilities and very friendly staff. Will definitely be going back again.

Went here for an afternoon tea. The sandwiches were quite tasty, the cakes were also nice and the scones were slightly overbaked. The service wasn't great, although the decor and ambiance was nice.

Attended an event today and it was well catered. The food was excellent and the venue nice. The function room is upstairs however and I had to register round the back on the ground floor, which wasn't very well sign posted. Other than that, very good!

Good.

My friend and I recently visited the hotel for a full body massage followed by afternoon tea.
The Spa area is spotlessly clean, nicely decorated with a relaxing atmosphere - as is the rest of the hotel in my opinion.
We appreciated the comfort of the relaxation room in the Spa area and the complimentary refreshments.
We both enjoyed our massages carried out by CAROLINE and TASH.
Both are lovely girls, very friendly and polite and experts in their field.
My friend and I are both vegetarian plus lactose and gluten intolerant.
The kitchen did a wonderful job of producing tasty delights for us that were well presented and good portion sizes.
The staff in the restaurant were helpful and professional and showed us excellent customer service.
The reason I have only awarded 4 stars out of 5 is that I had extreme difficulty contacting the hotel the morning of our visit.
I telephoned ten times in total.
My call was answered three times.
The first staff member put me through to the wrong department.
The second staff member put me through to the restaurant where I left a voicemail but no-one returned my call.
The third staff member was a foreign national and I couldn't even understand her introducing herself by name so I asked to be passed to an English national which she resisted twice claiming that she could understand me perfectly... problem was... I couldn't understand her!! Eventually she passed the call to PADDY who was patient and cooperative and resolved my query quickly and efficiently.
Before leaving I did provide all this feedback to the Duty Manager FATIH who validated all my concerns, apologised for the situation and kindly offered us a complimentary drinks voucher.
Despite the problems I encountered telephoning the hotel I do recommend this place to others and look forward to returning in the near future.

Initial welcome was somewhat underwhelming, if not disappointing. Had to press hard to get things resolved, which they were. Restaurant staff and service in the evening and morning made up lost ground. Expensive for what it is, but we persevered this instance mostly because it was a special occasion.

Booked a meal (groupon offer) with my girlfriend for her birthday. The food was DELICIOUS! The waiting staff were very attentive constantly ensuring my glass was full and ensuring we were enjoying our meal. would definately go again! Only downside, we waited a while for the bill, but I understand there were many other customers.

Good
