It's very close to Griffith park, the zoo is up to date with safety measures because of covid, masks are mandatory. The animals are adorable and you should bring plenty of water because you'll get dehydrated very quickly.
Decided to attend opening night of the LA Zoo Lights. I must say it was fun and my family enjoyed it from start to finish. The one exhibit I enjoyed the most was the twinkle tunnel. The price for admission was reasonable and didn't have to pay for parking. I highly recommend.
Nice place to visit with kids .... though there is lots of bees
It's been a bit since I've been to the L.A Zoo, exhibits and habitat's have been upgraded beautifully. Fun way to spend a few hours.
Went to the Autrey Museum. EXCELLENT. You have to go!
Great place to take the kids and get them tired, plus get the tickets online save the hassle of the lines
Love it....the animals are well taken care of that's the important part of it. I love this place.
It has security and it is a very nice place to go to spend time with family
Very pleasant and a great day to spend with the family and make some good memories!!!
My first time to the La zoo and I loved my experience no complain here. Felt like a little kid
Nice place to go with the family but make sure you take some lunch and snacks to go there cuz the zoo it's huge so if you wanna see everything will take you between 2 to 3 hours to go there
A place where the family feels good and enjoys nature at its best.
Great place to take your kids , well worth your money.
More animals now.. kids love it & now they have a kids play area & the carousel is a big hit with kids.
Wow this place is really fantastic. Amazing animals to see here!! This is a great place to stay and also a nice place to look at and take photographs on a very sunny day too.
I always love coming to the zoo whether I have small children with me or not. Lol this visit was at night for the zoo lights and all the animals were asleep except for the reindeer. There were 3 of them. They even showed everyone the antlers from the baby reindeer that shed them. It felt like very hard bone. It was pretty neat.
Never too crowded and always captures the imaginations of little ones. All great hard working staff
Had a wild time at LA Zoo. Good enclosures with chance to get close to some animals. Also enjoyed botanical setting. Nice safety setup during pandemic. Tasty snacks and food.
Pretty good zoo with a variety of different animals to see!
Great place to enjoy any day of the year with friends, family and love ones. Really enjoyable place for kids and adults to enjoy a walk and due exercise as you see animals and enjoy nature.
STAY HYDRATED.
First time going, pleasantly surprised by the size and quality of the zoo.
One of the best places to take the kids to walk around and enjoy a nice sunny day. The yearly pass is extremely well priced and worth the money.
I visited the zoo on a monday so it wasn't packed, I arrived at 1pm and left at 5. We were able to get through all the exhibits except The Lair. The layout of the zoo is a bit tricky because of all the path ways to choose from but the map was helpful. Food and drinks here are expensive so it's best to bring your own snacks. Overall I had a great time but some of the exhibits were closed and many of the animals I was most excited to see where asleep such as the tigers, lions, and the bear. The only thing that ruined my experience was the police officers that work for the zoo. At about 4:25 we went in The Lair exhibit, just to be clear there is no posted closing time at the door, some other exhibits did have an outer sign with their closing time in large font. Anyways, we were looking at the snakes which were behind a glass stacked up and some as low as the floor level so we were crouched down looking at them. Next thing we know a police officer is standing besides us demanding in a loud voice "Get up, Get up and get out", surprised and confused me and my husband responded "I'm sorry what?" and he responded "This place is closed already, I am going to lock the doors on this side so exit from the other door". His attitude was very rude. I guess because he was a police officer he felt there was no reason to be nice to us or at least have good service. A nice "hey, excuse me but it is closing time for this exhibit if you can please make your way out to the other exit would be great". Other than his rude attitude the day went pretty well, I had a great walk through the zoo.
Good
..natural habitat....for all those animal species under threat.
The Zoo is always a nice place to spend the weekend whether with friends or with your family. The price of entrance isn't so high, its around $23, and its for a good cause, in my opinion it keeps the lights on and you get to see really cool animals. Althought there are some exibits that are closed, and its a shame. They dont have Penguin but I like visiting the zoo for the Gorillas.
I'm from Peru, in January of 2019 I'm traveling to Los Angeles, I wanted to know the price of the tickets and if one can enter with soft drinks, and if parking is charged.
Great way to get away from the city, traffic and la stress!
My wife lost her wallet and they had the next day besides that great family place and the employees are very helpful
First time I've been to a zoo so I can't compare this experience to another. It seemed cool. Most of the animals seemed happy. Sadly the lion recently died, or at least that's what I was told by a worker.
I love the Los Angeles Zoo. It is the ideal place to take children and the family in general. Walk and meet different species of animals and above all have fun together as a family.
I love this place to relax a little and enjoy with the family !!!
Great Zoo. Had a great time with my family here. Thanks!
La zoo kids loved it and so did we. Great jobs guys and girls!!!
Had the best time at the LA Zoo! And on top of it, Honda gave us a parking spot up front and a free hippo experience!
My children always have a great time at the LA Zoo. Crowds are normally fairly heavy on the weekends, however not heavy enough to deter the family from having a good time. I bought membership for I believe 149 $ which has already paid for itself as it allows you and your family to visit as much as you want and gives you a discount on various items in the park as well as member events. In 2 visits the membership will basically pay for itself. The LA Zoo is a great local place to go on a walk if you don't feel like going on a trail walk. You also get to see all the Animals while your at it. Always a good time.
Came here for a kids birthday party and it's a great idea!!! They give a presentation of 11 animals and the kids are able to pet the animals. The kids loved it! They were able to get up close and ask questions. The animals are here because they're injured. It's a wonderful place and I'd suggest it to anyone!
My girlfriend and I went to the roaring nights at the zoo and had a really great time. The zoo staff was friendly and informative and the event was very nicely put together. I would say the special exhibit showings could get a little crowded but it was educational and fun nonetheless.
Took the family there. Lots of fun and animals to see. My daughter even got a chance to feed the giraffe.
I expected way more for this place considering the fact that it is in L.A. Best part of my visit was watching the seals getting fed. Parking was free.
I live in Texas. And our zoo can't touch this one. I love California. And it's diversity. But the zoo was a dead ringer for me. Highly recommend it.
This is just for the lights. If you you have high expectations for xmas lights like I do, don't waste your time. $76 to get , way over priced for the lil of lights they had. The xmas feel in MY opinion is only at the door.. my house has a better xmas feel and it's free for everyone.
Large zoo with a lot of walking. Better bring comfortable walking shoes for the trek or make sure to take the tram. It will drop you off at several major areas and you can pick it up to go to the next area. An all day adventure, so pack up whatever edibles and sandwiches you ll need. Have fun!!
LA Zoo is a great zoo. Really does have alot to see. If you are into Chimps, you could really spend alot of time here.
Only wish that they were a little better with their wayfinding.
Better than I remember, but still needs work on the exhibit . ... "old school "
Busy, but worth the money. Lots of variety. Hilly so bring shoes.
Large zoo with a play area. Bring your own coffee (seriously, I don't think they sell it in the zoo). Food is moderately priced considering you're a captive audience but you can bring your own food. The entrance and front of the zoo can get crowded, but it's a nice way to spend a day. Alternatively get a pass and pop in just to see a few animals and then be on your way.
Very nice, although there are many animals that are not outside, the truth is that this zoo is very big but almost half of the half is empty, nothing to do with all the species that they had before, and they have moved the animals no longer know where is which
Great zoo! I have been member here for a while so I do go a lot. It's not a huge zoo, but it is quite big and it can take almost the whole day to see and spend time with all the animals.
The animals here are well cared for.
Food and drinks are pricey, but they do have beer available.
There is free parking, but this does fill up quite fast on the morning in the weekends. There is closer parking, but for $10 that our membership does not cover.
Someone told me it's all happening at the zoo. I do believe it...
My daughter loves this place. Always asks to go back :)
I went here yesterday with my fiancee and my nephew. The parking was really good, only 3 dollars and I found a spot right away. As soon as we get out of the car there were all these geese walking around on the grass...it seemed kinda weird to me. The entrance fee was only 7 dollars for each person and a dollar for a key to turn on all these different stories they had.
