We were only there for a wedding reception, but the hors d'oeuvres were delightful, the grounds beautiful, the facilities clean, and the staff very friendly. It was a very delightful experience and only added to how much we enjoyed time celebrating the new happy couple!
Beautiful scenery. Clean, nice rooms. Good food and polite staff.
It's close to my family but it's a shame the campus is moving to Chicago
Great place to hold a ladies' conference! Professional staff, knowledgeable in their field. Beautiful, scenic, well-kept grounds!
I visited the Hyatt lodge for a charity event. The space was clean and elegant. The food was better than expected. Burgers at the end of the night was a pleasant surprise. Overall had a fantastic time.
My partner needed to be in the suburbs for an 8 a.m. meeting, so we decided to stay overnight at the Lodge. The fitness club is okay, and the pool is very large, warm and nice. I wanted to take a hike on the grounds, which used to be where Michael Butler (producer of Hair) lived, but the rain spoiled that, as well as the rising water level in the nearby creeks and streams.
The art here is high quality and interesting because it is so good, but most pieces include some icon of McDonald's, like the Golden Arches. This would be a good place for a reunion, wedding party, or a place to go with kids if you need to vacate near Chicago. There is shuttle to the Burlington train, so you could get here and back without a car.
Gorgeous hotel, the rooms are updated and wonderful. Management did an excellent job executing the wedding we attended and handling some difficult situations. Mr. Canfield (GM) was the consummate professional and turned an excellent event spectacular. Front desk was wonderful, food was great, and the wedding was wonderful with a lot of thanks to Hyatt for that!
Love the scenery of this hotel, if you like to be surrounded my nature it's the place to stay. Pool & hot tub were nice as well, but the stairs to & from were less than desirable. Hotel itself needs updating, clean but it's defintely got a 70's look.
Very welcoming, accommodating to all and the pool area was awesome. The landscaping is amazing and beautiful for pics. Loved it!
1980's design and layout . Very clean throughout with vast window expanses showing the beautiful pond and statues. Each hallway contains artwork throughout. There are multiple showcase cabinets displaying the history of McDonald's from the Multimixer to 50? Years of employee uniforms. This isn't a museum but it could be if they wanted it to be but currently it's a beautiful presentation. There are McDonald's All-american jerseys and uniforms. The exterior of the building looks as if it was from the sixties with curved walls and glass dominating the view. No LEDs , blinking signs, video displays...A very interesting place to see. It is also on a huge landscape of trees and plants.
We had our wedding reception here. The Staff was pleasant, attentive, and easy to work with. Sigita helped us organize the perfect wedding. Laurie at the front desk even helped me lace my dress. We would highly recommend. A beautiful venue!
Staff was awesome ! Restrooms were very clean and the atmosphere was beautiful
My husband surprised me with an over night stay here for my bday. Granted I had a great time but it was not due to the hotel but to my husbands surprises he had lined up for me. Positives:
Beautiful grounds, very nice bathroom, great shower, housekeeper that brought us the extra robe had the best smile ever! Very nice pool and hot tub area as well as very nice locker room. The server/bartender Maria at the lounge was very professional and polite.
Negatives:
The room itself was not as clean as it should've been. The ceiling and wall paper was dusty and dirty, little menu card in the room was soiled with old food stains, drapes were dusty. My husband set up a surprise party for me and reserved seating at the fire place for us but when we got down there, it was occupied by another family and we had to wait 30 minutes beyond the reservation time we had. The food was subpar at best, not what I expected from a place of this stature. My husband also booked the package that included complimentary breakfast but was almost charged for it. They didn't comp it until he reminded them of the package AND the mishap that took place in regards to our party reservation not being set up on time. And finally the spa reservation he booked for our couples massage was 30 minutes late also. The therapists were running behind that morning. When they were finally ready for us, we were greeted by two woman who seemed to be confused as to who was massaging who. Needless to say they argued in front us and made my husband feel as if neither of them wanted to have him as their client. Completely unprofessional. I felt bad for my husband. The massages were pretty bad and not relaxing at all. I work in the hospitality field and I am always encouraging my husband to leave gratuities but he didn't want to in this instance and I didn't blame him. All in all I had a great time because of my husbands planning, the quality time we had together and because of our friends who came to celebrate with us. This location however did not WOW us or meet our expectations and we will not be returning. For the same amount of money we will drive to downtown and receive better service, food and atmosphere.
Cool place to visit very interesting that I'm at McD hamburger university campus
I have always enjoyed my stay here. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere.
I went too have a meeting at the Hyatt Lodge and the staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs.
Lovely, quiet, serene, awesome an fiance in the restaurant and bar area. Adjacent to McDonalds Hamburger University. They have moved the HU into downtown Chicago, but the facility remains top drawer and well equipped. A great place to host a conference. Military friendly.
Very quiet location surrounded by woods and a lake. Easy covered bridge access to Hamburger University, and shuttle service to the nearby shopping center.
Clean and comfortable. Poor designed shower water flooded floor all the way to toilet.
very rude staff members .they don't care about the customers. nasty place .trash all over the restaurant.
Went for a business meeting. Meeting Halls are nice. Lunch was pasta and pizza. Pizza was cold.
Clean and located on a nice campus. Close drive to O'Hare.
Peefect place for a family event. Lots of room and the food is great.
Great place for any occasion. Beautifully set at a great outdoor location with all amenities and the service is top notch.
I love going there to swim and the food is relaly good!
Beautiful setting for a company event. Excellent service and food.
Met with employees regarding upcoming wedding. They were very nice and helpful.
Beautiful faculty! Great for meetings, conference or evening events!
This facility is great for meetings, great food and service, with the added benefit of being surrounded by beautiful grounds. Much better than the typical convention hall in your typical hotel.
Friendly staff. Easy. Clean. Comfortable. Quiet.
Really enjoyed the event I attended there.
Room was clean. All the rooms have balconies which is a plus. Staff was all very friendly. Ordered room service and the wings are so good. Jambalaya pasta was not good at all. Cheesecake was fantastic.
The room was large and very clean. We enjoyed the layout of the room and the fact that a small balcony is available so that we could step out into the nature. Their was a trail that we wanted to walk around but the downpour from the night before flooded the area a bit. The Italian restaurant had great food and wines. Overall an experience we look forward to have again.
I stayed here for a conference and it was such a nice hotel. The only thing I didn t like was that you had to pay for the gym, which isn t typical in a hotel (at least from my experience). This campus is BEAUTIFUL and everything was so clean, staff was also very helpful and friendly. Food at the restaurant was very good and fresh.
Beautiful space for meetings. Self park is a bit of a walk from entrance with stairs. Provided nourishment was goid
From my past experiences, I've been quite pleased with the Hyatt brand and this property didn't disappoint. The grounds were quite beautiful and I was delighted that a mother deer and her two adorable fawns greeted me on the road prior to my checking in. Good thing nobody was right behind me since I had to brake suddenly. The room was quite nice and looked out on a pretty area and the indoor pool. The people working at the front desk were gracious. The lobby and lounge areas were attractive and inviting. I also appreciated the artwork on the walls - yes, it was commercial, but they chose some interesting and creative pieces that went above and beyond a lot of hotel art. They also had an impressive display of art glass in one of the lobby spaces.
My only two criticisms were the parking and the health club. The free parking is quite a hike to the entrance, so if you have any issues, this could be a problem.
The health club is technically not Hyatt, but Midtown, however, since it's on the property, I would think they should make it their business, to some extent. First, I looked all over the Hyatt website and other booking websites and couldn't find whether it was complimentary for guests or cost something. When I asked, they said it would be $8 a visit unless I signed up for The World of Loyalty program, which is free. Second, the unfriendly young woman who was working at Midtown had the personality of a comatose toad. She didn't tell me I needed a card for the locker or even ask if I needed a locker, even though I said I was swimming. When I came back out and asked for a card she was nasty.
The health club itself was OK, but the lights were off in the elliptical area which I found weird. All the machines were Life Ffitness, which I feel are inferior to Precor. The exercise room where they have classes was tiny - I can't imagine doing yoga in there without kicking your neighbor! And last, while the pool was attractive, you have to go up and down quite a few stairs to get to it, which I found odd because they had a chair lift at poolside for individuals with disabilities. Perhaps there is another entrance to the pool, but I didn't see it. Bottom line ... Midtown was my only major complaint.
The grounds are awesome however the rooms need a little updating. I was a little disappointed the is no suites offered. Over a nice retreat.
This hotel and campus are like a different world. It's surrounded by trees and water, and aesthetically it is gorgeous and a 10/10. HOWEVER, this hotel is awful for accessibility. Valet parking near the door is $15/night, and free self parking is across the street. The sidewalks to get to and from the parking lot are not big enough to accommodate a power chair, and a wheelchair may barely fit. The quickest way to get to get to the front entrance is up a large flight of stone stairs. The "accessible" way would have you going up the drive way, with vehicles. Also, they seem to skimp on very basic things: no complimentary breakfast, not even complimentary coffee. Only three towels in a family room. Only a single extra chair in the room. Gorgeous, but definitely not the best.
Great hotel, nice rooms, great location. They have trails all over the property, a bridge over to Hamburger University, and nice conference rooms.
Beautiful campus! I was there for a conference and the staff was professional, food was great and the landscaping outside was gorgeous!
General cleanliness good. Parking was hard up find with a big event.
The staff was very nice and assisted my entire company with anything we needed. The hotel was very clean and had excellent decor. The kitchen staff was very attentive, but all of our food was not warm at all.
beautiful location with lakes and green everywhere. Perfect spot for wedding events. Amazing outdoor for photographers and videographer.
Quite and their staff are very nice and helpful
Had a corporate event in one of the spaces in the Hyatt Lodge. Great view and excellent catering. Best place we've gone to in the area.
My husband and I stayed overnight at the Hyatt for a family members wedding. The room was very nice and clean. We also had a balcony with a very pretty view. The actual wedding was beautiful. The reception was fantastic also, the servers were very professional and friendly. We would definitely return.
Amazing property, gorgeous even. The in house restaurants are over priced for the quality of the food but what hotel isn't.
The food there was delicious, great service. Only complaint is that the rooms were too hot and couldn't change that
Had a corporate meeting there. We have one every year there. It's clean, beautiful outside, and the food was great!
I was there for a meeting and cocktail party. Great service but bathrooms could have used some attention.
Beautiful campus. We attended a wedding there. Wonderful scenery for a reception on the patio and beautiful indoor venue for the party. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Tasty brunch the next morning. Would definitely recommend.
Very clean. Since, their TVs were being upgraded (or so they claim) we were unable to hook up our computer via HDMI. Other than that, everything else was great.
Great place. Went there for a wedding reception. Beautiful campus!
Best Steak in Oakbrook! Farm fresh to table-Amazing!
The stay was great! They were extra careful with the COVID-19 situation. The view around the lodge is amazing. Great trails for walking or exercising. My only complaint is that the walls are so thin that I could hear people flushing their toilets in other rooms, people were screaming at 2am and there were dogs barking throughout the night.
Very nice hotel/lodge. Amazing atmosphere and setting on the McDonalds corporate campus. The wedding was perfect and the food was really good. The filet mignon was tender and not dry at all! There was a "surprise" which was cool but better presentation and quality would make it better. Overall though I was really impressed!
I attended a wrok related even that was scheduled months in advance and our company pairs employees with roommates, the hotel booked my roommate and i in a single bed room. The resolution to remedy the mixup was for them to bring cot to the room.
Nice rooms, good food. All the McDonalds paintings are a bit creepy though and it always smelled like burgers outside.
An enjoyable hotel with plenty of mcdonalds themed paintings. Beautiful campus with great views.
Very clean and a very nice place to stay would definitely stay there again.
I was briefly in the lobby while waiting for a photo shoot just outside of the hotel
We had our marriage retreat here, great place to spend some awesome time with your loved one.
