Horrible customer service and always a long line no matter what time of the day it is. I would suggest going out of your way to avoid this place.
Horrible customer service and always a long line no matter what time of the day it is. I would suggest going out of your way to avoid this place.
Went here for the first time, was greeted promptly, and Candace was able to answer and follow up on what was a bit of a unique query. Yes it was busy, yes I did wait in line, but it s a registry in downtown Calgary at lunch, so all things considered, I was very satisfied.
Wanna be treated like crap? Look no further! These employees make you feel like you're wasting their time. Wanna do a car registration? VIN Check? Be prepared for the best talents in customer services! Look no further, as they have the most demeaning answer to your trivial questions.
I have had no problem with their efficiency or friendliness, but they do no allow payment with a credit card. Very inconvenient when doing things for my company. I have found an alternative place nearby that does allow credit cards, now I go there.
I have been here twice and each time was a bad experience. The front line staff are friendly. The manager is absolutely awful. I watched her get in a confrontation with one customer and then another one with me. This place does anything the can to grab money out of your pocket. Transaction fees for everything, extra 3% on visa transactions (no matter the size of transaction). I will never go back.
Waited for an hour, there was one lady at the counter who went for her break as soon as I got to the front of the line. Finally got to speak to someone, only to be told they couldn t help me. Such a waste of time. Will not be returning.
Very unfriendly staff, not recommended for any service at this location, staff here misguide and creat unnecessary troubles, different staff ask for different requirements
Great, speedy and accommodating service from Candace. Thank you.
Listed on the Alberta Health website as an authorized agent, went there for health care card renewal, and was told they do not offer that service. Waste of time.
Customer service 100% bad they don't no how to smile and they are really rood
Been to a couple of other registry places where the staff have seemed rude and to go out of their way to make getting something as simple as getting a drivers license renewal difficult. So in comparison, found the staff at TLC were friendly and helpful.
Not very friendly. Line up is huge, understaffed for sure.
Great service, not too long a wait, takes credit card but charges an extra fee
This place is awful, even when there is 2 people in line it takes 30 minutes to see some rude and pedantic clerks on their high horse. These clerks also take off on their breaks when there are several people in line.
There hasn't been one single time where I did not have to wait less than 20 minutes.
It seems like the most simple request takes a clerk a long time to complete which causes the line ups.
0 customer service skills.
Sadly I keep going to this place because I work in the same building so it's convenient other than that this place is AWFUL
Twice this has happened to me at this exact registries location. I called and requested what the required documentation was for me to bring for a registries service. I was told one thing only to find out it was incorrect after waiting an hour in line. I will not be using this registries location ever again.
Excellent service compare to 3years ago. Change to five star
Arrived at 9:00 AM, half an hour after opening, waited for maybe 5 minutes, 3 staff on and one additional one arrived while I was in line. The clerk was professional, friendly, and knew what she was doing. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I have been coming here for over 10 years, when they were on the second floor, too. Sometimes it's busy so I leave and come back if the line is too long. I've always had good service there. Have used their location for license renewals, new car registration, stats Canada, and to ask for information over the phone. Never any problems for me.
They were super quick and great service for me anyways!
Stay Away! Incompetent organization - they sat on my annual return for over two weeks. I had to make another trip to find out what happened only to see them sift through a pile of 100 others they hadn't processed. Make sure they do it in front of you. Mine missed the filing deadline by 3 days! Don't know about the other poor souls who's corporation may be dissolved due to this incompetence.
I will avoid it like the plague, it does not matter how many people are in line they don't care.
There will be 3 people working but only one accepting customers they are also very rude when they do help you, they act like you are an inconvenience to their day
A friend told me to avoid it and now I know why
AMAZING!!! I have never been to a place that was as helpful and compassionate as this one here. Tazim was incredible. The world needs more people like her and the rest of the people in the office.
The queue can get quite long due to the limited number of staff. Service was acceptable and they got the job done. What I don't appreciate however is the service fee for credit cards and debit cards. That is the cost of running a business. I am not likely to go back.
The staff is horrible specially the girl that sits on the first window right side of the hallway, she needs to understand she cannot deal with people, she needs to be replaced with one of those Mcdonald's computers that take your order, there's rude people and then there's her, I think deep down she enjoys making people life's miserable. DONT GO THERE!!!! (If I could I would put 0 stars but not allowed)
I had an urgent need to incorporate an ULC in the last a few days, and was not able to get it done at a few Registries, before I found TLC. I obtained the number for TLC online and gave them a call. Candice (forgive me if I spelled your name wrong) answered my call very friendly, asked my needs, and transferred me to Pauline, a superior manager who knows very well about the type of corporation my client needs. In a day, Pauline prepared all the documents which I was not able to even start at other four places, through phone calls and emails, without a physical visit.
Huge huge thanks to Pauline and Candice, and huge thanks to TLC!
Folks, I had the most satisfying service at TLC. I highly recommend TLC to you for your Alberta registration service needs.
I have been their customer from sometime. I had a corporation opened, drivers license and vehicle registration renewed. I have found them very friendly and cooperative.
Note:I am bit surprised to see negative reviews here.
I have had the best experience with Candace from the licensing co.
She really went above and beyond for me when I needed some assistance as I am now out of province.
Beyond that, I have almost never waited in a line at this location, and have always had quick service.
Super friendly and helpful staff. I had many questions regarding exchanging driver's licence from a foreign country etc. etc., Linda and her supervisor explained and answered my questions very patiently. Couldn't have got better service elsewhere. Thank you very much!
Lightning fast and friendly service. I just renewed my registration and my drivers license in honestly 4.5 minutes. No jokes. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the best registry experience I've ever had.
Great registry office for new immigrants who want to apply for Alberta health card!
Service is brutally slow. Only half of their staff services clients. A line out the door, eight staff but only two counters open. Find a different registry if you can.
Went in to renew my health card at 930am on a Tuesday, was out and validated by 937am. Just come prepared with your documents and it should be a painless experience for all parties.
Lmao the chick Erin Rice that voted five stars works here, not exactly a "review" if its just to boost awful busimess rating. She's one of the worst, and rudest people that does. I'm assuming the other five star ratings are employees or owners. This place is a dump, and completely subpar place of business. Go literally anywhere else, these rejects don't deserve the air you breathe, much less your time and even less your money. Five stars, okay sure sweetheart, go back to talking about your boyfriend in front of customers you incompitent, repulsive, unprofessional child.
Long wait time and lots of extra fees. Activation fee, administration fee, processing fee etc... Very creative names to in order to charge extra.
Tried coming here twice now. It's just really slow. Charge for credit. No tap on card. When I finally did get to the front of line, solid ten minutes to renew registration. Had all documents presented immediately. If your coming here during work hours in the core to save time... You'd be better off driving to another place.
Terrible. I came with the bill of sale to transfer a license plate and they wanted the original copy, which is kept with the dealership. I called the dealership and they faxed it over. The dealership said they never heard of such a policy. The faxed copy was no different than the version I gave them. Absolutely the worst. They have a sign saying 20 years of excellent service. What a joke!
Walk in with as much documentation as one should expect to have and I am told the bill of sale the seller provided me for a private sale vehicle is not acceptable. I would think that with the multitude of documents that I was able to provide a wise agent would accept my bill of sale, process the registration for the vehicle and have a person leave happy. I would not recommend you use this location and suggests that regardless of convenience you make the extra walk 5 blocks south to New Urban Registry and they will ensure you are taken care of. How is it possible that I can walk into one registry be rejected, leave, walk to another registry and have my vehicle registered after a private sale with no problem what so ever. Either the owner of this location needs to educate their staff on proper customer service or they need to have additional training on the allowable documentation required to register a vehicle. I have seen people walk into a registry with a napkin as a bill of sale and the agent will process it, I had an official AB government bill of sale signed and witnessed and was rejected at this location. Congratulation TLC on losing a customer for life and know that word of mouth is your best advertising.
Absolutely horrible! Rude staff and unbelievably slow through the whole process!
Took me 20 minutes to wait and have a renewal for 2 vehicles completed, which was not so bad considering there was a line up and it was a lunch hour. Best to call ahead to ask regarding process/requirements as they seem to be different with each rep we have spoken with on different times. Also best to come with cash or debit card as there are extra fees when paying with credit card.
Great and convenient for its central location!!! Very helpful staff that make the experience a breeze, only reason to knock off a star is because they don't offer road tests like other registries. Then again it's only a minor aspect that doesn't subtract from the full experience...
Less than 5 minutes to renew my registration, very helpful staff, thanks!
Showed up to register a car at 10:30am. Had all my ducks in a row before arriving. I was third in the queue and I still ended up being in and out in less than 5 minutes. Extremely polite and efficient staff member. Will come here again.
I went to there this afternoon to transfer my vehicle registration. She (K?) was very unfriendly and she looked she hated her job. Horrible service.
Been there multiple times, never had an issue. It's slow but certain things need extra verification, which takes time. Not really their fault. It doesn't help that it's busy, but if you manage to avoid peak times, you can get in and out pretty quickly.
I would not recommend this registry. For some reason their system would not work. They asked me to come back to try again which I did and it still didn't work. So I wasted 2 trips to the registry to accomplish nothing. Not sure how they stay in business when their system can't even perform a simple vehicle registration.
Long queues only 2 employees working and 3 sitting doing other work at the back office! Rediculous wait!!
They told me I would be fine with the documents I had and then let me wait for an hour and half in line before telling me to go get more documentation and come back. Useless and a waste of time, go literally anywhere else.
It is like Patti and Selma from the Simpsons moved to the Bow Valley center office.
Line ups out the door, one clerk on at a time will 3 others sit at their desks.
Slowest registry I have ever used.
The staff at TLC are really friendly and easy to deal with. Service was quick, and lineups are non-existent in the afternoon. They do, however, charge a 3% fee for credit card transactions (which, I believe, may be a violation of their vendor agreements), so bring cash to pay for your services here. If not for the credit card and debit card (.5%) fees, this establishment would be 4 or 5 stars.
Terrible lines. If you don't want to stand in line for an hour do yourself a favor and go to another registry. Service once you are at the front is decent, but the lineups are horrific.
Everyone was so helpful and so polite. I had great experience!
ZERO Star "I will not recommend this place. Worst services ever. my clerk was KK and her treatment was very rude. no idea how to deal with people."
Helpful, quick, and friendly - even though I started out a bit cranky. Made the whole process less fast & easy. Would recommend it, and will definitely go again if I need Registry services.
I arrived at 8:50 am and waited in line for 35 minutes. I had about 6 people in front of me when I arrived so I thought it should not take too long when they had 3 people working at the counter. It seemed that the workers there were very slow. When I left, about 20 people were in line. Don't go there if it's not absolutely necessary. Find another registry where service is a priority.
Someone stole my license plate, this was the closest place to get a new one. They were surprisingly quick and easy to deal with. We dealt with a newer girl who had to ask questions from a supervisor, but she was friendly and polite.
Walked all the way to this place to find out they won't help me without photo id. Right like I would just happened to have stolen papers and have the kindness to renew someone's registration. What a joke! I can renew online without photo ID so what is the difference. Hmmmm I don't perhaps CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Don't ever try your luck there is a reason why others got 5 star but they got 2
Not a good experience. The person helping me was rude and spoke down to me at every opportunity. I only go there because I live close by. There's another registry on 11 Ave and 1 St S W with seats that's better.
The guy there was rude, just cause I ask if the take AMEX and suggested that I should go get cash if I didn't want their extra charge for credit card usage, then said I should go back on the line once back, no customer service whatsoever
Horrible place, wait times and line ups are ridiculous, they do not advertise the fees or provide proper information in regards to their services. I will not return and I do not recommend this place.
I think the company doesn't care about customers and takes advantage of the location (being downtown). Awful experience! Will never go there again!
I arrived at about 2 pm there were 10-12 people in front of me. Only one person was working at the counter. they could have more people working during rush hours. when there was only one person in front of me, their system was down. I waited for 40 min. they said it probably took 5 min for the system to back up and running. I did waited for 10 min and the system was still down. there were 8-10 people behind me. it would've been better if they could have more people working during rush hours.
Slow and cranky people all the time. There's always just one or 2 tills open but you see an extra 3 people not doing anything.
I went here to exchange my driver's licence for an Alberta one. The staff were extremely helpful and I only had to wait a few minutes. They were very clear about how much I'd have to pay, and the whole process (including forms, vision test and photo taking) probably took about 15 minutes. Will definitely go back if I need registry services again.
wish i read the postings before, complete waste of time, the people there seem clueless. what a joke, does anyone there know how to do their job?
Promised my lady I'd take her to Seattle and Vancouver in the Corvette for her bday but my silly butt lost my license. Went at 440pm and had no line up and the clerk was super friendly.
Went there yesterday to renew my license and it was not a pleasant experience. Was ordered to wait outside after arriving and then was helped by an extremely rude girl who truly seemed to hate her job. There are lots of registries in Calgary, so I see not reason to continue to use this one.
Gone here a few times and communicated through calls/emails for work. The people I have dealt with are always polite and helpful. Quick and easy process.
Candice was extremely helpful with answering all of my questions. She has gone above and beyond my expectations, and it is greatly appreciated!
Won't be back. Unfriendly staff & they charge a fee for all credit card payments.
Should have believed all the posts here... but instead I gave them a try because it's conveniently located near work. Went there with a pdf bill of sale filled properly, they couldn't register the vehicle because the form was " the older version ". Went straight to another registry on 17th. The guy registered without any problems. I asked him about the version thing and he said there is no problem at all, he mentioned some people even handwrite their own bill of sale and that registry downtown is misinformed.
Above average. At the end of the day they cost me money, so I can't give them 5 stars but service was good.
If you don't have cash on hand, like 95% of the population, be prepared to pay a credit card OR debit card fee.
We have been to this company twice and have had nothing but terrible service! We have moved to Calgary from the maritimes and had gone in to get our Alberta license. We had been warned by others that they will often write that you have a beginners license, even though you have been fully licensed for multiple years. Knowing this, we specifically stated that we had a full license, as they reassured us that we would receive a full license. I also asked about getting my registration switched, as I had read online that an inspection that has not exceeded 90 days from another province would exempt you from getting an Out of Province Inspection. I was however told that I was incorrect.
Upon receiving our new license in the mail two weeks later, my boyfriend's came back as GDL (a beginners license). I had also emailed Alberta Transportation to confirm what I had read about my NB inspection being accepted, which they responded that I was correct and they gave contact information for the registry agent to contact if they were still giving me a difficult time.
Upon returning to the registry, I was once again told I was wrong. I stated that I read this online and was also in contact with Alberta Transportation. They then bobbed their head with attitude and stated "Ummm no. You're wrong." I then stood my ground and handed them a copy of the email and told them "Actually yes, here is the copy of the email, and there is a number you can call if you have any issues with this." The lady then handed it over to another worker to call since she never "Called for inspection approval before". The lady then proceeded with attitude in the meantime, informing us she would be getting out the policy manual. She read through a few with attitude trying to say they applied to us, such as "You'll find this interesting...Any Alberta resident who moved to another province and had an inspection done, requires an out of province inspection upon returning to Alberta" , we told her that this did not apply to us as we have never resided here before. It was a huge fight with the staff instead of calling the contact in the beginning, as she did end up finding the exemption that I was able to use in her policy book.
They then waited for 10 minutes while doing nothing before calling the contact, and then stated "Bad news, they closed two minutes ago!" So because of their lack of customer service, I am approaching the 90th day of my inspection before I need an out of province one. This has been nothing but a terrible experience.
We then tried to get my boyfriend's license fixed to a full license, in which they basically stated that he was not telling the truth and shouldn't be fully licensed. After fighting with them, they went into the back and found his NB license as it had not been shredded yet, once again stating that we were correct and that it was indeed a full license. They said they would have to fax it to someone and then they would be able to fix it; however since they were closing in 10 minutes, they weren't going to do it that day.
This has been a terrible experience (Both times that we have gone), and also did not enjoy the rude comments by the staff such as "Ughh, don't people have anything better to do on a Friday at 4:00pm than come here?!?
I would never recommend this company to anyone!
Very unfriendly staff, not helpful. Every time you go there they will ask something new, if you have 2 things out 3 to prove your residency/address in AB, they won't take it ( I showed my pay stub but forgot to take another bill with it).
In an age of digital billing, they are very inflexible about the dates on bills for proof of address. I personally have no paper sent to my house, and the "Acceptable" forms of digital bills don't come in my name. So I paid for a bill to be sent by mail and when I did finally get time to go get my ID I was told it was to old and they couldn't (wouldn't) accept it. This was after being told to fill out the forms prior to getting in line and waiting over an hour in said line.
Fast and friendly service. Guy helping me had a genuine smile. Best place to pay unwanted fees.
I went to this registry and the guy I dealt with doesn't even know the rules. His attitude was so rude. I don't even understand the logic behind what he was asking me. I have been to so many registries and nobody asked me about the owner ship of the vehicle.
Yes, if you come at the wrong time wait times can be very long. I have had really good experiences at this registry, you just have to go during non busy hours. If you call ahead they can usually let you know if there is a long line, or if the service you need requires a line up. Certain services you can skip the line on and see someone at a desk instead of the counter.
i just called to inquire about something. While the first lady I talked to was super nice. The second lady didn't even try to understand my question. Answered some random question she had in her head. And kept telling me that I need to call a different place regarding scheduling while my question was not about scheduling. I had also seen (in person while I was there once) one of the supervisors showing attitude towards one of the clerks who appeared to be an immigrant (that is, the clerk being the immigrant). The only consoling fact of having paid this place anything is the fact that the clerks are so nice. But I will not support demeaning behavior towards employees or customers and will find another registry next time.
Service was great. Staff was friendly. Short wait. They do take credit cards but charge an extra fee.
The absolutely worst service from a Registry in Calgary that I've been to. The line is always over 30 minutes long, the people at the counter don't give you the correct information and I guarantee that if you are going there for something like new car registration, you will be back a minimum of three times because they will leave out important details of the transaction. You're better off going to anywhere else. Yes it might be close to work, but it's not worth the hassle.
They do not make any process easy, won't take proof address even though the examples I had were on the Alberta gov site? Like everyone else has said, go to a different registry even if this one is more convenient.
Waited 35 minutes in line (and no, it was not lunch hour) only to hear that my request will not be completed according to THEIR Government policy. When asked to reference what policy a piece of paper was shown to me and thrown away 30 secs after with words YOU DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO IT. Should it not be publicly accessible if it is a policy every one must obey? Bad-bad-bad.
10 people in line. One agent helping AHS people one helping registries. One stilling behind the desk doing nothing and another has he closed sign up. Can't believe they advertise 20 years of excellent service.
Make sure you call beforehand so you know what documents to bring. There is a line-up every time I go there and they charge a large fee for using a credit card. I would recommend going elsewhere.
You are better off going to New Urban but if you are feeling masochistic, fill a form for what you need on the left side and wait standing in line.
Extremely slow and non helping staff. Took 2 hrs for 7 ppl standing in front me to get my turn. Only two employees working on the desk.. Horrible experience.
Toooo much waiting time ....... 25 minutes wait .... I m fed up
I called this place for class 6 drivers license knowledge exam, lady on the phone insisted that I need to bring my passport as well as my existing drivers license, all that because I am a citizen. I called in crowfoot plates they said I only need my drivers license. I don t think the staff here know what they are doing and need some training.
There's a much better place at Gulf Canada Square a few blocks away. My horror story happened when I went for a simple driver's license renewal. I got Kayla, she was rude but that's not the problem. We did the eye test and she said I'd failed after 1 attempt. I said that can't be right and asked how I failed, she said no explanation could be given, that it was final and I needed contacts before getting my license renewed. I went right to an optometrist and got 20/20 along with a letter of qualification (glasses not required). I went back and there were new employees there who said Kayla wrote that I failed multiple easy eye tests! They had me take the eye test again (even with the letter) and I passed with another employee administering it.
