Popped into this store before I headed for a night out (so I was dressed up) to pick up a few things, a male staff member looked me up and down and said, '"Oh helloooo", in a rather suggestive manner, I couldn't get away quick enough. Not appropriate. It's bad enough being on your own on the streets and men doing this, but a staff member on duty? Not cool.
I love how huge and packed with everything one may ever need, the big variant of Tesco supermarkets are and in particular, this location of it, is as well! I love the low prices, the special deals, which are really worth the value and the holiday sales which made me end up leaving the supermarket with a piled up shopping cart! Always! The prices are as low as nowhere else!
I find Tesco's very good for buying essentials like Coffee and Milk
I like Tesco stores because of the variety they have. I do not rembeber a day when I was to want something that I could not find here. Keep it up that way!
It's a classic little tescos, not for the tourists but if you work in the area it's ok for a meal deal every now and then.
A very decent sized store for such a central location.
I found it had a very good selection of fresh fruit and veg at reasonable prices.
The range of other produce was also good considering it's not a proper supermarket. Although there is limited choices, they stock a pretty extensive amount of different items.
There was also a decent amount of items on offer prices.
The entrance and store is step free and the aisled are reasonably spacious.
Checkout was reasonable. There was a choice of staffed or self service checkouts. Neither queue was very long, but about half of the self service were closed. Hopefully it's not a regular occurrence.
Apart from that, I liked shopping here.
This Tesco establishment was extremely disappointing. I was treated like a criminal and denied service because I am a foreigner. My transaction was formally denied by the cashier (Shoman) because of my "attitude". Upon asking the manager (Hitesh) to write a compliant, I was met with condescension and asked to leave. Not recommended at all.

decent selection for a metro - better than the one on the aldwych end of the strand - and rarely have to queue

Big for a Metro and as a result offer both hot food and a some fresh bakery produce.
Meal deals are nice but the range is not as big as other chains.
The Frozen yogurt machine is a nice touch.
The tesco manager thinks its ok for people to be racially abused within its compounds.
I use this branch of Tesco regularly due to it's proximity to my work place; however I often struggle with the selection & variety of vegetarian ready meal options and have to compile meals from different sections of the store. Thanks

VERY DISAPPOINTED with the customer service, so much so i felt the need to write this. I lost my bank card today and I went back to see if someone has kindly handed it in. I spoke to an Asian guy who told me my card was there. After giving him my full name he refused to give me my card back with out proof of ID. NOT an ounce of empathy even tho i was clearly stressed out having thought id lost my card and in the middle of central London with no money. He treated me like a criminal and was extremely unhelpful. I stood there in shock as he slammed the safe box and locked it and then walked away to carry on serving even tho i had asked to speak with a manager. A female member of staff asked me for a picture on my phone and i told her my battery had died, she starting laughing and shaking her head at me trying to make fun of me. APPALLING BEHAVIOUR. Please train your staff on BASIC customer service this is not good enough. You are there to make your customers happy not annoy them. Eventually i did get my card back but it was not a pleasant experience.

Ok prices for central London, however bring more fresh produce by weight and less pre pack stuff

A great selection for such a central location including obscure American foodstuffs section. Still one of the cheapest places to get food within the area. Gold for all the office worked close by which makes it VERY BUSY at lunchtime.
All the essentials you need under one roof. The place is definitely not as small as it looks from the outside, the prices are good and the customer service is excellent.

Many things are relatively cheap. I was curious about the salad bar, but every time I went there, I was sorry that the toppings were empty or too messy. Accessibility is good as it is subway station side.

I live in Covent Garden. So i often go to the Bedford St branch. Full of bloody tourists. ALWAYS. So always busy. The prices are very reasonable. There are a couple of things i m not impressed with. I have arthritis.so i get tired easily & often have pain. There aren t many trolleys & nowhere really to sit. The staff are very hit & miss. If they re nice, they re very very nice! But i politely asked a guy to pack my shopping, as i have arthritis. He made me feel guilty. He said we will help our customers. But we need them to help us too!!! In other shops like sainsbury s they automatically pack your bags. They don t even expect you to. So tesco. You need to send some of your staff on a course. Teach some of them to respect people.
I prefer my Lidl pony because I bought a Tesco burger aaaaaaannnnnnnnddddd there off!!!

Excellent. Lots of choice. Christmas items on sale 3 days before Christmas ! The self check out goes quickly.
Fairly decent sized supermarket. Better than a lot of the Locals and Express varieties. A fairly broad range of goods stocked. Reasonably priced. Can be frustrating when they close half of the self service tills, as it's always busy.
Could be better provisioned, and the range of products improved, but it is OK considering there is not much else in that area.
Some evenings are quite busy, and you might find the selves empty at times, or end up waiting a considerable time in the self checkout queue.
All in all, it does the job (or most if it), for basic products.
Quick service and a great range of products. I buy all my cereal from here for work :)
A wonderful supermarket in the middle of the world.
The staff here are just awful...they seem to be OK with letting the queues build up on the self-checkout aisle (indeed some even queue jump in front of customers) - the selection on offer is mediocre, the staff are not up to scratch. I can only conclude it must be down to exceptionally bad management since the staff at other Tescos (e.g. Goodge Street) are fine.
Nice and handy if you are in the area. A decent range for a small shop
The shop smelled bad (near the back) and had re-stock trolleys parked in the middle of isles. Needs a good clean, doesn't feel like a real Tesco's somehow. Good thing is its opening times. Like most Tesco's, it needs a shake up.
The self serve lines are faster than the lines for full service checkout. This place is busy, no matter the time of day. We stopped there three times last trip, and the self serve checkout helpers were busy, but solid. Don't let the hustle of the place put you off. The produce was fresh, and dairy stocked pretty well. No complaints, for such a centrally located market.

There is literally no where in London I frequent more than the Tesco Metro! The have a wide assortment of freshly baked goods and produce. The salad bar is absolutely great. My one tip is to come at 8:00pm for the reduced to clear section - they heavily mark down tons of products for you to buy. #Oktoberwurst
Sometime it gets bussy and they don't have proper que management so have to wait a lot to get ur stuff. Managers should put people on tills when it gets bussy but it seems like there is no management or they don't care. You will see staff here and there but not on the tills when there is long que which is disappointing and annoying. If u need to get cigrates there is separate que where most of the time u will only see one person serving with a lot of people waiting.
Update:- since my last review(1 ) there has been massive improvement in the store specially how they manage their ques now so m gona edit my review and give them a (five ) Well done team Tesco .

Well sorted and tidy the shop looked at me. Paying (and scanning the products) is about self-checkout funds.
Good size of tesco and a good selection. The offers were good and I was impressed with the amount of organic fresh produce they had. Its a one stop shop for everything including homewares which is convenient. I would come again for a nice cheap home shop. Also worth mentioning are the helpful staff which made my shop very easy and comfortable
I had a fairly nasty experience. I had made a mistake scanning something and unlike other stores where they assist you, I had the impression that they thought I was trying to steal something and wanted it to be that way rather than help me. When I realised what I had done they seemed disappointed that they could not accuse me of stealing. I will not go in their again. Sad really.
Not a huge fan of Tesco, but this one is really well stocked and offers tons of products. The salad bar is a good addition, beer range is good enough too. Polite and friendly staff.
I like Tesco, and it's good to have a store nearby, but this place is too busy, and I am ill after eating here too soon and too often for it to be a coincidence.

I like this shop it easy to find things. But for somebody who lives here it needs to be bigger and have more of a choice. That's the only downside to it. Which is why I give it a 4 stars

Very convenient location for all your needs. I use this store all the time for click & collect so I can pick up my items when I'm out in central london. Staff who help me with my collection are always super nice courteous. They definitely make more effort than any other Tesco stores. Keep it up!!

There is hand sanitizer and wipes for baskets at the door. Safety screens are installed around the self checkouts. No queues!
Well located between Covent Garden and Leicester Square. I pick up lunch and I head to Charing Cross to have a sit and enjoy it.
You can buy at good prices lunches, fruits and salads (London is very expensive)
I payed for my items and walked out and one off the colleagues come running out saying I didn t pay when I know I did so I told him how much I put in and how much change I got and then he started walking back to the shop as he knows that I did but what makes me more angry about it is that he didn t even say sorry for the inconvenience
