Beautiful ski destination that is worth visiting just 2 hours from Calgary.
Beautiful ski destination that is worth visiting just 2 hours from Calgary.
Love the environment, just like i did as a child. But one thing remains the same. You can sell tickets for less and still make profit.
Phenomenal mountain. Conditions are brilliant. Getting poked for the Men's Downhill on Saturday.
Well layed out and incredible views. Minimal apres but the beer is cold!
A fantastic ski area within a national park. Lots of fast lifts take you all over the mountains and give you access to great terrain. Not much new snow leading up to my trip so it was really tracked out, but the groomers were great. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful.
Quite amazing view, but during summer months the lift to the top doesn't seem to operate.
Also - keep in mind the local park guides may give you incorrect information about the parking situation around the lakes in the area. In general there seem to be a lot of people visiting daily and they borderline discourage people from going, especially to Moraine Lake. Take their advise with a grain of salt. A guide told us we have absolutely no chance of visiting lake Moraine during the same day, but we tried our luck and got parking without any issue around 5pm.
Aside from the great resort and ski hill, I found all the staff at every level to be very professional, friendly and helpful. This also applies to their "ski friend" programme. They were awesome.
I can say from experience at another ski hill where I found the staff to have less than a "sunny" disposition, that attitude has a big impact on enjoyment.
Congrats and thanks to all the staff.
My favorite ski resort in the Alberta side of the Rockies. The total area of the resort is massive and with three faces (front, back, and larch), it boasts a huge variety of terrain ranging from plenty of glades, to powder bowls, to long groomed runs, to plenty of chutes, it's got something for everyone. A big advantage of Lake Louise is that there are many lifts and several areas that can be accessed by more than one lift so you don't have to always end up going down the same runs and ending up back at the base. While I'm a skier, I find that my snowboarding friends also appreciate the fact that there are few long stretches of flat ground where you have to undo your bindings. If you're looking for trying to get a lot of variety, both in terms of difficulty and type of terrain, look no further.
I find the resort is easy to get around compared to other nearby resorts. It can be very icy but we had a good day with new snow. There is a decent variety of places to eat, but I miss the old menu at Powder Keg.
Beautiful place but take care there s a bunch of tourists.
Took the Gondola ride up to the top and had a GREAT meal at the restaurant at the top! Even seen a bear feeding on our way down!
Awesome mountain, view is excellent as usual in the Rockies..!
Great resort but sunshine is better. Some of the Gondola staff took their jobs too seriously
Lake Louise is one of my fondest memories skiing.
Mainly because of Temple Lodge
You ski all morning, then be sure to wind up at Temple Lodge. There are no automobile, only skiers. It is very pristine.
A fantastic place to ski. Great ski day. Always worth the trip. 4.50 for a Gatorade is a bit much though.
Even though lines were long they kept them moving. Lots of different terrain to explore. We had a blast
Best in the Rockies by far! Midweek avoids the lines.
Great resort. Stunning view, tracks well groomed, and with more snow a freeride paradise.
Love the automated kiosks for lift tickets. Very painless. Love the nice long runs.
Try taking a gondola ride in the summer for some great views and beautiful weather. We even saw grizzly bears.
The greatest ski resort!!! Food is super excellent, lodges are super excellent. You won't be disappointed.
The view seen by the cable car is very beautiful!
It is recommended to take an open seat.
Lake Louise is such a nice ski resort. I've been able to find super good powder here on a good day and it doesn't get skied out too too fast if you go in the right places. Been going here for a while, as I prefer it over Sunshine Village, but they're both great.
One of Canada's best! Beautiful views, great runs. Happy, friendly staff! My favorite playground. There is a massive parking lot. As with any resort of its type, the prepared food in the cafeterias is overpriced and not what I bring from home! They have microwave ovens.
Very busy but they keep things moving. Variety of terrain. Beautiful scenery
Gorgeous, also one of the best views of lake Louise.
The most beautiful lake in Canada but far too many people
This is an awesome place to ski, so much variety in terrain. If it is cloudy and over cast ski the Larch and Ptarmigin areas, when it's sunny and clear head to the Summit platter and Top of the World Lifts for amazing views of the Lake Louise valley.
Very expensive did half day at $90 ticket vs $110 for full day. Was very busy reasonable lines only one main lift up. Definitely lacks snowfall, snow was hard, sheet ice. Lots of gravel and small rocks exposed in certain areas. Terrain looks like it would be good with fresh snow but seems to lack snow and relies on snow making. A bit disappointed as travelled a long way to only get similar snow conditions to back home in Australia. Stayed in town 5 nights and didn't bother hitting the mountain again. Did a few days at sunshine and snow is much better just a little too flat. Lake Louise lacks grooming as well was clearly obvious that most runs don't get groomed daily. In Australia all runs are groomed daily greens, blues and blacks. If looking to plan a trip my advice do resorts in BC. They get more snow, Banff was nice to visit and enjoyed the scenery but lacks enough decent snow resorts to justify a length of stay. Hope you find this useful.
Went here in June so no skiing but it s quite a great place to take in the surrounding mountains any time of year. They often see grizzlies from the gondola but we did not. The Whitehorn bistro at the top is superb tho!!
Oh so much fun to skii here. The mountains really are super high
I did all day adult ski lessons level 3 it was awesome, we did a lot of skiing and the instructor was awesome at giving us tips for all our different levels.
An amazing place hiking is spectacular there up to mirror lake
Ultimate ski resort in the heart of the Rockies. Worth the bucks. I was surprised by the number of mountains and runs they have: front side, back bowls and larch! Also, the gondola ride is an amazing addition to the lift chairs (stay warm on your ride up)
Staff are super friendly and facility is clean too.
Always a favorite spot. 70 + cm of fresh snow was epic.
You should go to Lake Louise because...
You should go to Lake Louise because it s so amazingly awesome. The snow is powdery and sometimes if it s cold enough it s icy. The routes come to the exact same spot, so if you split up with your family you can meet at the bottom of the hill. The routes are great and you can do the same one over and over and there's not a lot of flat spots. On the gondola it s really fast and if your snowboards or skis are small enough you can bring them on the gondola. I would highly recommend Lake Louise because it s the best ski resort in Alberta.
Great mountain! Long runs and steep chutes in the back bowls.
Great variety of runs for someone with every skill level. The restaurant halfway down the front side of the mountian is a great spot to stop for lunch.
Every staff member I have come across has been very friendly and knowledgeable Perfect learn-to-ski bunny hill area, kid friendly. Lots of various terrain, enough of each for every skill level. My favorite of the Big3
I didn't really buy anything there. But they offer free shuttles from Banff. So if you don't have a car, this is your best shot to get to lake Louise.
We went in the summer, went up on the lift and had a walk around the area at the top. Very nice, the restaurant at the top is also very good. Only complaint is that it is unclear whether or not you can go outside the electrified fence without a guide, it turns out you can, but you will need to be prepared to meet bears!
Very nice place. Go on the gondola and get a great view of lake Louise
That is such a beautiful place to go people are friendly and helpful and the scenery is something to see its worth it all.
Has One of the best jump lines i ever hit. Also has a good range of terrain from expert to beginer
Amazing ski mountain, super helpful staff and amazing experience overall. I hired a personal instructor to help me get my footing with snowboarding - the gent from Australia was crazy-helpful and an awesome instructor. Hats off to him and the rest of the staff.
This year and specially on Monday after snow fall past weekend, today is amaizing
Majestic doesn't even explain the beauty of this place!
Excellent ski resort. However, the technican in the ski rental shop did not do a precise and accurate job on my right ski, resulting in a terrible fall on the hill.
Gorgeous views and awesome runs. I did a full day lesson and found all of the instructors to be impressively helpful, encouraging, and patient. Watching the instructors teach the little kids was the best part they actually exhibited some teaching methods that reminded me to be more patient with my students. Everyone was extremely kind, from the staff who helped me find the right rental boots to whoever of the instructors was closest to someone who fell, quick to help them back up.
Fantastic skiing in stunning scenery. Most runs are more challenging for their grade when compared to those at Sunshine. The back bowls are wild and beautiful. The one downside is the return lifts from the Larch area are slow and a little exposed. 4.5 stars is a better evaluation.
A great place to visit even in the summer!!! I reccomend trying out the gondola!!!
We love lake louise and come here all the time to ski.
Worth the drive from Calgary, this ski resort is so much bigger than anything else closeby
Fantastic skiing. Really great conditions.
I highly recommend this resort. I have been come here 4 years straight. Love this resort.
Very nice place for the family to dki, but the dupont stucture is under developed, only one small restaurant at the bottom, only fries and burgers nothing to choose from.
Great view and challenging hike. Lunch at the top was excellent. Fair chance to see a grizzly bear.
Gorgeous ski resort with good runs. The snow was powdery and they had a good number of different runs.
A bit pricey (esp rentals), but really nice range of runs. I didn't even get to the back side of the mountain - Lots to explore
Truly world class everything. Restaurants, pubs, scenery and snowboarding. Outstanding facility
The lift broke a couple times when I was there, was kinda annoying, but every other time Ive been there its been great! Fantastic hill!
We visited during the summer and took the gondola up the mountain, walked the Kicking Horse trail, visited the exhibit, and marveled at Lake Louise.
The Kicking Horse trail was a fairly steep 0.5 mile walk uphill within the bear area. The kids weren't too happy about the hike until we got to the lookout area. The view over the Rocky mountains from the top of the trail was absolutely magnificent. You can see the glacier covered Rockies, Lake Louise, the forest, it was definitely worth the hike!
The lodge was quiet. Not many people during one of the busiest summer tourist days of the year.
We ate at the sushi restaurant. Good was excellent, reasonably priced, friendly waitress.
Awesome ski resort.
Heaps of runs, some decent parks, and an affordable price compared to some of the bigger resorts.
Only word of warning is the LL village is a little sparse so perhaps plan to either stay in Banff and transit every day, or just make do with what you can at the LL village!
What a beautiful hill. Huge variety of runs both hard and easy, a great place to spend a day or two with the family. Make sure to stop by the Lake to wonder around when your done on the hill.
Excellent snowboarding resort! Be careful which runs you take as a boarder, for less experienced riders, it is not hard to get lost on some harder runs.
Couldn t see much because of the snow, but some wonderful ice sculptures to look at!
Loved the gondola ride, a little pricey but worth it. The view from the top is amazing!
