Ski Rider Hotel Review

My family and a bunch of mates have stayed here for the annual Simmos ski trip for the last 8 years. We could not be happier with how the staff handle our group every year. They are always friendly and welcoming, the staff keep it lively and are always a pleasure. The rooms are always heated nicely and kept clean. In the past 8 years we have never had an issue in any way and will continue to keep staying at Ski Rider in coming years.

If you want a fun, entertaining, lodge like feeling accommodation who know how to cook up an awesome pre ski breaky then this is the perfect spot. I recommend ski rider to all family and friends wanting to have a very reasonable priced fun stay at perisher.

Such a great place to stay for families. We have stayed 2 years in a row and will be back. Clean, comfortable, more food that you can eat, lovely staff, lovely bus drivers, lovely ski hire staff. It's kind of good that I can't get mobile phone reception in the rooms, more family time, less screen time. My teenage kids can always go to the games room to get phone coverage and play pool.
Perfect place to stay for families wanting the on-snow experience on a budget.

Returning quest, always love the food, and service. Great place to stay, for a great price. Buses running all day to the slopes. Can t wait to come back

Do yourself a favour and stay at Ski Rider, with great service from the fantastic staff, great entertainment, the menu selection was second to none. This is the place to stay in Kosciuszko National Park

We had the best time at Ski Rider on our last family holiday.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, food is good and very satisfying after a day of skiing Perisher, and also good before going up the mountain in the morning.
Our room was not 5 star, but was warm and clean and spacious enough for 4 or 5 in a family (we had 4). The warming racks dry everything ready for each days skiing.
I especially liked being able to dress fully for skiing in the morning, boots and all, and just walk up to the bus and get driven all the way to the ski-fields.
There was snow on the roads on a couple of mornings and I would not have enjoyed driving in that . . . the bus was good.

The staff helped me book lift tickets and lesson passes and the price was basically the same.

Thank you to everyone at Ski Rider . . . We will return.

Cold beer and great food, haven't stayed there in their rooms but always stop off on the way past.

Stayed here for a night on a skiing trip. Chose the shared room. It was way neater than I expected. The breakfast and dinner was pretty decent as well.

Great place, great people and great food. Staff are so helpful - loved our barmen Josh and Brendan. If you want a no fuss holiday in the snow this is the place to stay. We had 4 boys with us and fitted into a room for six and yes it was cosy but it was also great as we really bonded (no tv in rooms).
Definitely recommend a stay here.

Great service and food, Rooms are a bit small without a T.V.

I stayed for a week with my two kids and I just love the ease of everything. I love the fact I can rock up and hire our stuff, stay and get breakfast and dinner, also get a free shuttle to and from the snow. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Thank you for an awesome week and we will see you next year.

We were very happy staying at Ski Rider. The prices were very reasonable. Rooms were clean & centrally heated making our stay comfotable. We are excited to be going back this weekend !

We have just had 16 nights here. This is a hotel with very basic rooms, so don't expect anything grand, but we love it. We have stayed here for a few years now. The things that keep bringing my family back are: 1) The great value for money. The excellent free shuttle bus that takes you from the hotel and drops you right at the Perisher tube terminal. We have a 4WD and we could drive up the 11 kms to the ski fields every day, but why bother. Using the free bus means that we don't have to walk across the Perisher car park carrying our gear and my teenage girls can come back from the mountain whenever they want. I don't have to sit in the car park waiting for them. 2) The food is amazing, we take the option to cook our own meat in The Grill. It is always a very social time standing around the huge indoor BBQ. 3) Then there is the super friendly staff. They really are great,
We will definitely be back again later this year and then again next year.

Great food in the grill area, great staff, close to the snow with frequent free shuttle buses to the snow.

Stayed here for a week. The place itself is ok. It has motel style cabins with beds, wardrobes and an en suite shower/toilet and not much else. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are warm and cosy in the winter. The staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help and the food in the self cook bistro is awesome. The shuttle bus to perisher is very handy too (although is at the mercy of the rest of the traffic on the road). I'd definitely stay there again.

Convenient location with shuttle bus service. Decent meals included, drinks are reasonably priced. Rooms are pretty basic, no fridge, TV or free wifi, however they are quite comfortable.

We stayed at Ski Rider last week, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is convenient and we took the shuttle bus every day to the valley, the hotel also includes the breakfast and dinner which is nice , it made our SKI trip stress free, we just ate,slept and rode for whole week. Thanks.

What a way to treat its staff ? I have witnessed how the employer talk to her employees, that's not acceptable. Also we could expect a better quality for all the prices.

Absolutely awesome atmosphere, the staff are without a doubt a big highlight, always happy to help and make the resort a fun and lively place to stay. With their shuttle bus going up and down the mountain multiple times a day it makes the mountain easily accessible all day every day!
Also having their own hire store attached to the resort is a huge convenience and makes hiring out gear a much easier process.
I highly recommend this amazing resort to any people wanting to it the slopes!

The room is very basic but the food provided is quite adequate ( breakfast and dinner ) has a variety of choice

A lot to pay for what you get:
Little or no sitting room at dinner
The breakfast room has an odour that would raise the dead
Breakfast while plentiful was motorway cafe style & best avoided in hindsight
Rooms large & clean, bring heaps of friends a meat tray & a couple of slabs and it may have appeal (apart from breakfast).

Best place to stay.
Close to the slopes but still affordable.
Brekky and dinners so you don't have to worry, and it's all included in the price so no expensive meals- the meals are large so you won't be leaving the room hungry!
The rooms are great sizes- plenty of room to have your suitcases on the ground and still play a board game.
The staff are super friendly and most (if not every) night they have something on..
The shuttle bus is super convenient!

I love that you can leave your luggage and change of clothes there after checkout and can have a nice warm shower and leave!

I only stay at ski rider when I go to the snow!!

I stayed in this hotel 26 years ago. I thought it was fantastic and the food then was amazing.

Hope it is the same as it was back then. Cant wait for this season

My family have stayed here for the past 4 seasons and we absolutely love it, the rooms are nice and cosy, the food is great, and all the staff are awesome. CANT WAIT TO COME BACK !!!

Friendly and helpful staff, great food and entertainment. Regular buses to Perisher all add up to a great place to stay.

Bad phone service and rooms are to small but the food and the gaming room is Great!! But is quite expensive

I would highly recommend this hotel. The service was far above and beyond my expectations. Funny story, I went to the manager to explain that in my excitement to get to the slopes that day I had not been paying attention while driving up and had arrived with a completely empty tank of fuel. Silly right! And with a 23km drive to the petrol station back in Jindabyne I wouldn't make it. She instantly offered to provide her fuel can with 25L of fuel. She would sell it to me at the same price as the pump and send her maintenance man to fill it back up the next day. She really saved the day as it had just dumped 40cm of snow that day and last thing I needed with the family in the car was to run out of fuel.

The service in the bar and restaurant was also great and we will definitely be back!

The Ski Rider is fantastic. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is good and the rooms are toasty warm. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will be back next year. Was also really easy to hire our gear here. Thanks to the amazing staff.

This place is awesome - Brilliant food, warm bed, free regular shuttle bus to and from perisher and all the staff are friendly and helpful, plus the ski and board hire shop is great What more could you want.

Great food choices, good parking arrangement, plenty of services such as shuttle bus.

Good staff and the hotel offered daily meals (breakfast and dinner), nice place with nice views. Sadly no fridge in the rooms but during the winter it doesn't matter as you can leave your stuff outside to stay cool. Hames room was also nice a little overcrowded and the entertainment was enjoyable. Would recommend.

The rooms are okay but the food is SO bad, almost impossible to eat.

Comfortable rooms, great food, a shuttle bus up to the snow and a bar. Can't beat it.

Ski Rider Hotel is probably the best place to stay at when going skiing. The hotel offers ski hire onsite. They have deals that include a nice hot breakfast and very good grilled dinner that you cook yourself. they have a complimentary bus that leaves often to take you to the snow and back, the bus ride only takes 20 minutes. The rooms are cabin style and they are all you need for a ski trip.

Best place to stay for a trip to Perisher in terms of value and service. Staff are awesome. So convenient with free shuttles to and from the mountain. The breakfast/dinner provided is of the highest quality.

Disappointed. Almost $2k for five night for two people, no TV, heating not warm enough, no spoon for the coffee (had to use a paddle pop stick that was provided), no fridge, not enough dooners, tiny prefab bathroom, no wi-fi in the rooms.
I've stayed in motels that had the basics for less money.
But have to admit the staff are nice and the food is good.

Great budget accommodation option. As close to the snow as you can get without paying exorbitant prices. Meals included and hire gear on site. Free shuttle bus to the snow tops it off. Always come back here each year

A well oiled machine. Careful on the night of a footy much though. They blast that on the big screen full volume.

The team at Ski Rider were absolutely sensational across all areas of this business. All requests were easily catered for & every staff member was happy & enthusiastic at all times. This is my second visit, and I can't recommend Ski Rider high enough. Wonderful and easy place to stay - the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the best I've ever come across in any ski accom. The rooms are basic but warm and cosy. The ski hire is fantastic quality. Worth giving this place a try.

Love it. This is a well oiled machine. They know exactly what you want and need after a big day on the Slopes.

Excellent shuttles. You don't need to worry about driving and parking. Plus the drivers are friendly and fun!!

Accommodation is very basic but clean and that is what you pay for. Have stayed here three times with our young family and always enjoyed. We are here to ski and the proximity to Perisher is good without the extra travel time and costs of when we stayed in Jindabyne. Dinner in the Bar Grill is great and our recommendation.

It s our first time to stay at Ski Rider resort but definitely not the last. Their dinner menu is simple but cooked very well. We lost a few things during our stay but the friendly staff found them for us. Everyone is all smiles, from the bus driver to the receptionist to the gear hire and kitchen staff. Customer service is even better than the more expensive hotels we ve stayed in the past. Thank you!!

Staff friendly , room was comfortable and warm. Dinner and breakfast was lovely .Only down fall was no fridge in room. would recommend to family and friends

Wow! What a fantastic place to base yourself. Staff are exceptional and the happiest people on earth. Special shout out to Mick on the bus who always wore a massive smile. Josh in the bar who remembered what you were drinking from the very first order. Shuttle bus was so easy and great local knowledge. Hire shop boys are spot on. Everyone clearly loves what they do. Food sensational especially the grill. Basic rooms but warm and comfortable. Absolutely 5 star experience. Thanks team

If you are in a group and budget. Look no further. Friendly staff. They have a bus that runs between the hotel and perisher. Breakfast is good. Other meals not so much.

Accomodation was great, really enjoyed our stay the staff were Friendly and Helpful, food was good and the Shuttle bus service was on time.

Good place to stay and rest, provides free bus to perisher and smiggin resort. You can cook your own bbq and good food variety. Though the mobile reception is too bad in this location.

The BEST place to stay in the national park. The rooms are simple but it's all you need for skiing. There's a shuttle bus to Perisher and Smiggins that takes 15 minutes. Breakfast and dinner are included and the food is sooo good. Vegetarian options are outstanding. Gluten free also available. Rent your ski equipment here as well. Everything you need!! I will never stay anywhere else.

Staff were awesome, food was great, rooms are cosy & the location is super convenient. Couldnt have asked for a better time. We'll definitely be back next year!

Great service. Lovely place great mattresses and could fit the 4 of us comfortably in the hotel. Food was also great when served after a long day of skiing. Waitresses was amazing. Totally would recommend
