I m a professional skier and out of all the resorts that I ve skied in Alberta and British Columbia I like lake Louise the most. There s been more snow this season then ever in history. My favourite part of the resort is the back side specially the runs Marmot and lookout.

I have an rcr pass and I picked it up at Lake Louise. The girl at the counter didn't want to give me a lanyard for it. I pay $1650 for a pass and you don't give a 2$ lanyard to keep it on. Every year it comes with one. It's a joke . The girl was rude and obnoxious too. I'll take my pass and go ride golden and Fernie instead.
Lake Louise is ok. A lot of inexperienced skiers and boarders makes it tricky to get safely down the hill on certain runs. I find it icy here as the snow gets scraped down quickly due to the high volume. However, Lake Louise has a variety of terrain and of course beautiful views, which makes it a must-try ski resort. The log cabin style lodge is also beautiful, but bring your own lunch ($$$) !
Great selection of runs (good variety and lifts connected fairly logically). Out of Lake Louise Sunshine, I liked Sunshine more for the wide open views and wider runs. My husband liked Lake Louise better for the variety and minor technical elements. Caution: Even the green runs are quite steep (absolutely doable but could be intimidating if your first try in Canadian Rockies).
Runs for all level of skiers. Hill is large so everyone spreads out well. Worth the extra distance from sunshine. Not as beginner friendly as a lot of the runs near the chairs funnel out to one run and that is where it gets icy. Rentals are available. Show up early to avoid the lines. Take an early or late lunch to avoid the lines. A 10 minute wait is long but to be expected during peak times. Can be up to 15-18 mins during holidays.
Great time. Had full day private lessons on 1st day and our instructor was great. We have been skiing for 19 years but on Midwestern US hills. Nothing like this and no powder experiences. The weather can be unexpected as we had a bright sunny day that at one point was snow showers and fog bank the next to sun again. Skied total 3 days. Runs for all levels. We will be back.
This was one of the first times I went skiing. What a beautiful place to learn at! Georgeous views of mountain peaks all around, and a wide variety of slopes to choose from. While it was busy, it wasn't so full that it would ever have been annoying.
It's a okay ski resort compared to others, you have to go through a long process before hitting the hills. Cafeteria was a horrible experience as there were so many people crowded at one place and hard to get any food at all, I advise you to bring your own food if you were to come here. Other than that the skiing experience was pretty good.
Wonderful! Great trip for what you pay and we saw a grizzly running right below us!! Enjoy a glass of wine at the top and the educative road to get there. A1!
Great mountain! Snow making on lower portions for early and late season riding. Lodge is nice and offers a great view of the slopes. Views from the top of the slopes of the Canadian Rockies are amazing.
Everything is literally at the bottom of the ski runs, just pop off your skiis and eat or rest. The staff are extremely helpful. We had a great two days there.
I loved the open gondola ride. It was oddly relaxing gliding above alpine trees, considering I always thought I was afraid of heights. Perhaps it was the amazing views , the cool, motionless air and the anticipation of a great photo opportunity once we reach the top that offset my fear.
Always a great time going to the mountains to ski. We went boxing day and never had to wait in line once to get on any lifts. Might be the best day to go along with new years day. Only reason I gave this review 4 star is because the food was not only expensive, but my burger I ordered was almost raw in the middle. Since I bought the Louise ski pass, I will be going to ski again, but next time I will be bringing my own lunch.
Nice area and effective lift system. Double black terrain is easily accessed from lifts without having to ski lots of blue terrain and long lift rides to repeat. Fantastic views when weather is clear-- which it was all three days I was there. Snow coverage in mid-March 2018 was good, but didn't get any new snow during my visit
Great ski location. Found it much better for beginner/intermediate snowboarders as there are less flat areas. Buy the Lake Louise card if you plan on going 4+ times. Buy the Costco passes if not for ~75/pass. Go to the backside - snow is usually better and it's not as crowded.
What an amazing season for Lake Louise! Staff are always friendly, the grooming of the ski runs have improved and we're great! If you are able, you may want to pack a lunch to bring with you as the food prices are very expensive.
They said open until 17h 16h they close the lift I was done stuck at the main lift at 16h04 day over! 114$ from 12h to 16h!! Yeah the ski is awesome and view wow but seriously??
My favorite ski resort so far. Spectacular view, long trails, various terrains, reasonable price. If you are a beginner, the greens may be a bit challenging but hey you should challenge yourself to get better. My family thoroughly enjoyed skiing here and will come back again and again. Almost forgot to mention that the ski school here is awesome! My two kids improved quite a bit.
Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Canada is iconic. There is a reason why it is visited by millions each year. The glassy colour of the lake reflects magnificently in the sun, with a fierce domineering glacier at the far end and a luxury hotel at the other, Lake Louise is simply stunning.
I have been here a few times and it is excellent. I would say that this is a more intermediate Mountain, and it has a lot of faster runs, but it is a lot of fun, and great to explore the back side too. Definitely fun and great for snowboarding, and really nice views. I still have memories burned into my mind.
ALSO in the summer you can take the chairlift up and look for wildlife.
Lake Louise is pretty sick, I've been here lots over the years. It's not my favorite, but I don't mind going here. Lots of terrain, decent snow, my only complaint is it's kinda busy and the drive is lame.
The best ski hill in this part of the Rockies, the lack of flat spots is ideal for snowboarding. Open from early Nov to early May, is about a 1.5 hour drive from Calgary.
We visited on a late afternoon in July for the gondola ride and to our surprise they had discounted price for all rides from 4.30pm, so, that's a great start. After the visit I would say that Lake Louise Gondola is a little better experience than the Banff Gondola, and keep in mind, they are both amazing and worth your time & money.
My wife loved the chair lift while I enjoyed the closed gondola with our little one, can't describe how beautiful the view is - you see the lake and great Canadian Rockies from 6850 feet (wiki reference). Take the 5-10 mins walk down from the viewpoint to the wildlife museum (forgot the actual name) and restaurant - you will be presented with some good entertainment. Great wildlife museum and a rich source of knowledge. We were brought down all the way to the parking lot via shuttle as they had to close the gondola rides due to thunderstorm - their crew did a great job given how unexpected and quick the sunshine was replaced with the scary storm! 5 stars for that but overall review is missing a star as I hoped they would have more accessibility features. Would definitely recommend to f&f
Good place complete with what a ski resort should have but the actual attraction is on the other side - up in the mountain Lake Louise. But getting a place to park is nearly impossible
