My wife and I were looking at retirement spots in Florida and Mt Pleasant, SC. We happened to have the good fortune to come across a quirky home that Christy Whitlock was listing agent for in Pawleys Island. While this particular house did not work for us, Christy drove us all around, introducing us to the area and was just a wealth of information. As well as being totally up on the local real estate market, she has in-depth knowledge from the history to current affairs, which was so important to us. We decided to add this area to our search.

Great old Pawleys House. The only complaint - there should be a note somewhere that the dryer is inoperable and the Washing machine is terrible. Both should be replaced.

This company use to be great not anymore. We rented a place on Watersedge Drive and had to move because it flooded and no one fixed the issue and the work inside the unit was never finished, but we were expected to still pay 925 a month. I spoke to others that lived in similar units and they could not believe we were paying that much because they pay 800 or less. Not worth it!!!!

We have a group of 11 (siblings & spouses 5 couples and 1 individual) this house is ideal as everyone has their own space (6 bedrooms with private baths) and 1 half. Note....one bedroom has 2 queen beds (we only need one in that room) we take the other mattress and put it on the (uncomfortable) pullout couch in the TV room & make a very nice bedroom suite (with private bath). A large kitchen (love the gas stove) two dishwashers. There could be a few more dinning room chairs...but, there is a small table with chairs close that can be added for extra seating. Added bonus is an elevator (which we really need for 2 in our group) and there's a swimming pool and ample parking. Easy walk to the beach!! View is mostly is of the creek. Also....Lachicotte is extremely easy to work with!! Love this Island!!

We have been coming to Litchfield to vacation for the last 10 years and this was the worst experience we have ever had. We rented the Dale House and this house should not be rented in the condition it is in. There was black mold on the ceiling, the upholstery was covered in cat urine (we brought beach chairs inside to sit down), the disposal didn t work, and the mattress pads were covered in cat hair. The cabinets in the kitchen were covered in a greasy substance, the stove was literally falling off the hinges and almost every piece of furniture was broken. There were stains on the upholstery and comforters (some that looked like blood). We were disgusted and called the office at least 5 times and went by the office to voice our complaints and no one ever returned our calls. We emailed after our stay to discuss the horrible, unsanitary condition the rental was in and received no apology or reparations. They need to fix the condition of this house before allowing families to be duped into renting. Had I known more about this house, I would have never brought my children and stayed here (especially as I am pregnant). Very disappointed.
The creekside house with a dock allowed us to kayak, fish, crab and float. The house is on a good lot on the island. We were just a short walk to the beach access. The house is an older home but has been restored & upgraded. Beds were comfortable but too high. Rooms are small. There are no ceiling lights so lamps are the only lighting inside except hall light which did not work and light over the island. Kitchen is large enough to cook in but outlet by toaster does not work. Ice maker does not drop ice. Having the extra refrigerator downstairs helps store food & ice. WiFi signal was too weak to sign on with laptop. Beautifully decorated furnishings & artwork but too much for renters to be comfortable using tables & counters without moving things. Description advertises a boat ramp, which makes entering water with a kayak easier than a dock but there is a tree blocking a trailer from backing from the driveway. You have to carry your kayak down to the water. You cannot launch a small motorboat from this dock. There is a boat landing a short distance away. Make sure you check with the agency prior to arrival on Sunday because they are closed on Sundays. I did not receive an email with the necessary code to access the lock box with our keys. Thanks to the Real Estate agent listed on a sign who made calls and gave me the code. Thanks to families like the Mosers who allow strangers to enjoy their home.
