Wonderful trails with cleanly marked paths and wild life. Hidden gem
This place is a bit of a gem.
I took a nice walk through the paths with my boyfriend and our dog.
Being dog friedly is always good in my book.
The paths have lots of fauna to see and the different species are quite often labled.
There is a nice looking pond there as well.
If you looking for a quiet place place to learn about nature or just a nice casual walk in a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by some of the best views jacksonville has to offer, i would have to give this a big thumbs up
I'm from here and never knew about this place. Great way to see local flora and fauna. There are many labels so can learn to recognize trees and plants from around here. It can take a while to walk all the trails. Good exercise. I don't think bikes are allowed on the trails as they're quite narrow at times. It is dog friendly in all but one trail. Closes before dark I think and they accept donations. There's also a toilet near the parking lot.
Beautiful place to visite. A haven of tranquility in Jax
Some of the best Casual trails in Town. There was an old mining operation there a long time ago so the whole terrain is actually hilly which is rare in Florida.
The View is great thanks to all the streams, lake, and trail art.
They also have a huge event area with fire and lots of tables.
Variety of different trails, but it's not very big.
Great and fun place to walk and see nature. though I say this from experience one may want to be careful when bringing their dog if it is not good at seeing other dogs around
Lots of lovely plants, bugs and gators. Truly an experience you've got to see.
Wonderful free place with easy hikes and lots of beautiful scenery.
Excellent place to hike. A great place to walk your dog as well, very pet friendly. Pit toilets are available and there is even a doggy water fountain there. .
Beautiful place to walk and forget that you live in the city.
Its a gr8 place 2 hide rocks and it has amazing pictures
Great place to get outdoors, exercise, and learn about plants and wildlife. Will definitely be back!
This is an AMAZING park! Take a friend, take your dog, take a lunch and enjoy a whole day out here. Beautiful views, quiet trails and you'll learn stuff the whole way. I recommend going in the spring when the azaleas are in bloom. You'll never forget it!
There is such a wide variety of trails that every trip there feels like the first time. Admittedly some of the newer trails aren't as well marked like the others so it is fairly easy to just end up in straight woods.
Great family fun. Great photo opportunities. Lots of trails and paths. Water with benches.
A beautiful pavilion. Lots of picnic tables. Shade galore.
And yes there ARE public restrooms
I like how they have the names of the plants there. Nice walk too.
Lots of labeled plants, some in test beds, others in natural setting. Lots of natural walkways, a few boardwalks.
I'm a painter. I took multiple pictures at the arboretum that will make good paintings. My son and I had fun trying to find the alligator.
The best park in Jacksonville. Beautiful community-supported trails, plenty of parking, and easy to get to from any part of the city thanks to 295.
Nice area with lots of paths to walk. Dog friendly also if on a leash.
Amazing, beautiful, peaceful. A natural treasure in the midst of everything.
The only flowers in bloom were on some of the trees and bushes. The walk around the pond and through the woods was an easy stroll. Most of the plants were labeled with little signs. Parking was limited so we circled around until a spot opened.
Great walking & biking trails. Fun for a family outing
Being a new local to Jacksonville, I was very impressed. This is a very beautiful and well maintained trail. Pet friendly and provides doggy bags. I love taking my GSD here.
Very nice stroll through nature. Enjoyed the wild life and the different plants. Best of all, it was free! Would definitely visit again.
Extensive gardens that include many species native to the area. Trails wind throughout the entire area letting visitors see different ecosystems within the park. Wished I could have stayed longer.
Very well maintained. Beautiful scenery, great paths and the ability to see many different plants and learn what they are. Also a really great place for a photoshoot.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Trails are not long at all and well maintained. Family with kids or just by yourself is a great experience. Would recommend to any especially since it is free to go into, donations are accepted at the parking lot.
Very nice place for a walk in the woods or a picnic. Beautiful lake. Lots of nature.
My kids love this place. With the ravines it feels like you're in the mountains. It's a beautiful place to get away for a few hours.
Great for a walk, picnic or just some space in nature to think. Free as well
Beautiful paths through the woods, privacy within the city.
Awesome well maintained trail system well shaded abundance of tree, insect and other critter species.
Love love love this place! Florida doesn't have much hiking but me and my son l ways enjoy these trails a lot.
Be careful of black widow spiders here. I went here last week and got bitten by one.! I saw some in the trees before the bite but did not think anything about it! Do NOT rest your arms on any of the trail boardwalks or on the pond deck!
One of the greatest hidden gems in this city, though its increasingly more busy each and every week. Trails and grounds very well maintained. So much foliage labeled. Great place to take your family and dog(s). Keeping my fingers crossed they don't start charging an admission fee or a mandatory "donation" upon entry. There's a good deal of renovations currently taking place.
We took our family on a fun nature walk combined with "rock hunting" and a picnic and really enjoyed ourselves.
Love this place... always finding something new to see
Fun place to spend a few hours. Well maintained trails, several loops, and if so inclined, a picnic area.
This place is awesome!! A huge variety of plants and trees. Birds, turtles and alligators (I didn't see any). Very busy lots of families and couples walking the trails. There's lots of trails. Plants, trees, birds, and trails are marked and labeled. Bring your dog and a picnic too, there are picnic tables and benches for watching and viewing. Bathrooms on premises. A really nice relaxing place to visit for the afternoon.
This is a great place to get out and visit. My wife and I are here at least once a month. We signed up for the membership to get on the mailing list and help contribute to the events. I highly recommend getting out here and enjoying the trails!
Always a great peaceful walk. Different trails to explore! Plus sitting down at the picnic table for lunch was a treat!

It's beautiful scenery it's so peaceful and serene I highly recommend walking through this area
A great place with many trails to explore. Perfect for getting some exercise and you can bring your dog along. If you are looking for a day with nature, you can't go wrong here.
Nice flat lands to go for a stroll or an easy hike. They close by 5pm and they have a lot of parking space. Be cautious of getting loss. Yes, there are Gators and bobcats in this park. Bring some bug spray.
Such a lovely place right in the middle of the city. It is a great place to bring your dog and walk the trails.
Beautiful place, looks like the land that time forgot. Lots of weird shaped trees and roots protruding from the ground. Really have to take your time and explore all the trails to find all the interesting spots. Seems like everytime we go we find something new. Friendly turtles in the pond that your not supposed to feed but they are obviously accustomed to it. Gopher tortoises just kind of chilling by their burrows. A woman we met at a trail intersection saw a snake but couldn't identify it. Looks like they would be everywhere but I've never seen any there in a dozen visits or so. Overall a great place to take the family if you enjoy outdoors and togetherness. And you can get a little exercise if you wish or just chill at the picnic tables. They even have a dog water fountain at the entrance, seriously. It's a foot off the ground. The bathrooms work, what else can I say.
We enjoyed our time here a lot. Needs a bit of updating but otherwise well worth visiting.
Love visiting this place. Awesome place to walk around. I play Pokemon Go there. However it's fun to go for the pure joy of being in Nature.
I would give it 5 stars, but the bathroom was absolutely disgusting.
One of my favorite places in the whole city! It's an amazing hidden gem, I highly recommend you plan to stop by for a nature walk or long hike. Very dog friendly, my pups love this place!
Great experience. Very educational! Will come back.
Beautifully manicured paths interwoven with ponds and streams. Many varieties of flowers. They have signs with the names of flowers and trees. There is a small picnic area as well. Very nice!
Great place for a walk. The trails are well maintained and offer a pleasurable experience. You can walk your dog as well. I came late in November, so the vegetation was not as exuberant, but still enjoyed the trails. There are several trails of different lengths which allow for short or long walks.
This is one the most beautiful places in Jacksonville. It's always clean and peaceful. I seen an otter today! It was my first time seeing one in the wild. I'm so impressed by this place, I see something new every time I visit.
We love the nature trails here! It's a great place to take the dog out for a run.
Nice place for a short hike. The dog loved it. Nice picnic area too!
Great trails. Nice piece of natural Florida. Always peaceful hiking.
Great place to take a walk and enjoy nature. There are several different loops to choose from as you explore.
