This was my first visit to Jacksonville Aboretorium. I enjoyed the walk and the scenery; but, get your walking shoes on because the trails are long. It was a tad warm. So summer is going to be a bit hot. Outside of that, it was wonderful.

Absolutely LOVE it! Very clean, lots of plants, very educational!
I personally love the pond and the trail around it but have yet to see the rest of the park, I was just recently told about it and my bf took me, we will most definitely head out to walk a new trail soon!

A bit more rustic than some other arboretums and that's fine - more natural surroundings for the flora. Trails are well marked. The trails are for walking/hiking ONLY. Very narrow and not groomed for bikes.

Wow was I surprised to learn that Jax had a place like this. Totally awesome. Enjoyed the name plates on the various plants, many I have never seen before. I appreciated the benches located throughout the trails so I could take a break as I have medical issues. Very interesting plants and plenty of shade.

Dogs welcome. Beautiful place with many different trails to walk depending on what distance you want to go. Such a hidden gem in the area, I love this place! No fee required but they request donations.

Great place to bring pets, or go for a nice walk. Trails were wide enough for two people to be comfortable, and also for groups to pass side by side of each other as well. Trails were a bit on the shorter side, 0.3-0.5 of a mile.

Always a great stroll with the family and there is plenty of shade. Sunscreen, bug repellent and water are useful. I also recommend donating to them if you can to help keep this place looking great.

Loved, loved, loved this place! I'm a female, so, needless to say, some places around here i won't go on without conceal carry. You don't have to worry about that here. Dog friendly as long as dog is leashed. I seen a couple people on bikes, ...but personally thought it was rude. Some of the paths are only as wide as my hips, you literally have to get in woods to let bikes pass

Secret gem

Unfortunately this was a train wreck. Many lights didn't work and almost all of them were just stuff you buy at Walmart or lowes during the holidays. Granted, I went in November so it may get better.

Hot chocolate was a nice touch but for $25 you think you could get a bigger cup.

They do take a credit card here.

This is a very good place to walk, with interesting views and enough elevation to have a little better workout than we usually get in Jacksonville. Each trail is short, but you can combine them to walk as long as you want. There are enough other people to make you feel safe but uncrowded. I come regularly with my dog. The Upper Ravine trail is my favorite. It's a different kind of view from the flat places we usually see in Jacksonville.

This arboretum is a great place to bring the family and dogs. They have several trails that vary in length and intensity. The trails and landscape is very well maintained. I would definitely recommend!
