My experience with the Podiatrist was excellent. I left a separate 5 star review for him and him only.
The one star review is for everyone else I saw at the Iowa Clinic. Short story...
My right toe was broken, I get a bill for X-rays taken on my left toe.
I called the number on the bill and she said she would fix the discrepancy
for my insurance company.
This month I get the same bill....bill says " lacks information needed"
Will gladly pay my bill when the Iowa Clinic sends in the correct information for my Insurance Company.
Hopefully someone at the Iowa Clinic can fix this and I can possibly delete this review. I tried to fix it with a personal private phone call.
I have always had the best care and the best doctors with the Iowa Clinic so never had an experience like this before. Needed to call on-call on a Saturday and when the doctor called back they told were working a shift in the emergency room, which I very deeply respect - but she was very short with me and asked "what do you want me to do? I can't call in a prescription because I am not in the office and I am working now". Maybe if they can't do on-call while working there should be a different plan. If I wasn't in serious need I would never have called but were left feeling guilty for reaching out versus going to the ER - which is what everyone tells us to do to avoid overburdening the hospital.
STAY AWAY! Have been a patient of Mr Meyers for over a year. Started great but now has completely ignored requests to my messages to him on
my portal. REPEATEDLY last several months. When we call the office to try to talk to him or his nurse we are told every time that he or his nurse will return our calls. NEVER DO. I AM STILL WAITING>
Whatever standard of care this person and his team has had has taken a drastic nosedive. It is now the standard for the receptionist tells the
patient whatever it takes to get off the phone. I can only go by what I have experienced. Either be a real Doctor or go push papers in a cube. We were told by one of his staff that because of COVID the administration has cut back staffing and expenses. Maybe this is part of the reasons now that I see that a group of urologists' had left Iowa Clinic. Beware! Doctors have an ethical obligation to provide a minimum of care!
I had an appointment with Jinah Kha. Everything from scheduling the appointment to payment options were stress free. Jinah puts you at ease with her great caring personality. She is very professional, competent, and skilled in her profession.
Jinah clearly explains the procedure, and then explains what she is doing as she proceeds through each step of the procedure. She checks with you to make sure you are doing okay, and she answers all your questions.
My appointment experiences with Jinah have always been very positive, and I would recommend you make an appointment! Thanks Jinah!
Wife has been at their urgent care for 1.5hrs AND STILL WAITING! Apparently you can schedule to go to urgent care now without being there, forcing walk ins to wait. The need to change the urgent care name to clinic because that is all it is now. You re better off going to unity point at this point.
I was scheduled for a Skull MRI last Friday, Oct 1st! I am very claustrophobic and was quite concerned about getting through this procedure! Because of the two great MRI Techs, the test was not as bad as I had perceived it to be! Huge thanks to Brenda and Sara who guided me through this test! They were so kind and empathetic and made me feel totally at ease! Both ladies were so sweet and helpful and made an unpleasant situation very tolerable for me!! Thanks ladies - you're the best!!! Also, giving a shout out to Chris at the Front Desk, she was also very kind and helpful to me prior to the test! Great job by all! I am scheduled to have more tests every three months and will have no qualms at all because of the professional and caring staff at Iowa Clinic Imaging Dept! Thank you all! Sandra McCarthy
I have been going to the Iowa Clinic for about 10 years now. I have never had experiences like these. Last week I went to the doctor and had to call them to talk about my blood work. I had to call four times before I received a phone call back. It was just over 24 hours when I finally got a call back. Unfortunately I didn't see my original doctor and he was out the day I was trying to call in. Doctor Hancock is who I originally see and he took time out of his day after I had talked with somebody last week, called me to talk me through the things we had decided. I would give Doctor Hancock 5 stars but the other staff I dealt with was very frustrating.
My second issue was with the OB/GYN department. I had an ultrasound at 2:30, got called back on time. They told me to wait in the waiting room for the doctor, which is normal. I had an appointment with the doctor at 3:00. I was finally called back at 3:30, the doctor came in at 3:40, and I was out of the room by 3:45. I have never felt so rushed with the doctor before. I felt like I was pushed to the back burner and not cared for at that appointment. He answered one of my questions and he asked if I had any more questions while he was walking out the door. I thought it was very rude.
Urology receptionist Cindy is rude and condescending. I have been going here for about 5 years and have never been talked to or treated this way. Everyone else in this department has been kind and helpful. When I asked to speak with her boss or someone to provide feedback on the customer service she wanted to let me know that after 3 years I am now a new patient - not sure what this comment was for or what she felt she was trying to prove. Unfortunately I got her on the phone the following day and once I gave my last name she snickered and immediately changed her tone of voice with me, dismissed me, and wouldn't let me finish explaining why the imaging department asked me to contact them.
My initial contact was because I received a letter in the mail explaining that my appointment for the upcoming 5 days was cancelled and I wanted to express to them my concern or dislike of that process that I felt if they were cancelling it they should have called me to reschedule it over the phone (this was for my 5 year cancer screening appointment so while maybe not to them this is a big deal to me). Cindy proceeded to tell me that they call and I must not have answered or returned their calls. I let her know this is untrue as I had just immediately returned her call and this was the 2nd time I received an appointment cancellation notice in the mail for my 2021 follow up appointment without ever receiving a call/text/or voice message.
I have not let the overturn in Urologists affect my decision to continue going to Iowa Clinic since Dr. Kellerman left; however after being treated this way (and only due to how long it takes to be seen as a "new patient" and a different location) this will be my last time coming to Iowa Clinic and I will be switching over to Dr. Kellerman.
Dr. Hawk , his murse, Phillip, and staff were extremely thorough. Their bedside manner is superb -- so easy to talk to and made me feel so at ease. Thank you !
