We have been to the Inn at Virginia Tech nearly every year since our kids were born. We'd like to have brunc, and get the kids picture taken with Santa. The food is always very good, albeit pricey. The atmosphere is welcoming, and especially at Christmas time with all the decorations and Christmas trees up, the place looks amazing.
Soooo disappointing!!!! We came from all over the country to celebrate the Virginia Tech Rescue Squad 5oth Anniversary. We all booked rooms at The Inn . Congregated in the bar in the lobby at eleven o clock on a SATURDAY night and they wouldn t serve us!!!! Will never stay there again.

My family has made a Christmas tradition of shooting portraits at the Inn; the Christmas trees and natural light in the grand hallway make for a wonderful backdrop and the staff have been nothing but curtious, indulgent, and professional towards us and our children.
I attended an offsite meeting here and I always enjoy them. They have a great continental breakfast and perfect meeting rooms.

Attended a mandatory training at the inn. The staff was very professional. The breakfast area was stacked with fresh sandwiches and other snacks and the training room had water bottles, notepads and pens for the session.
Top notch restaurant. Great food. Good place for a special occasion meal.
The rooms are clean and spacious. Staff are all helpful and very knowledgeable about the area. Great location of visiting VT. We were able to walk to the campus. Also very close to a variety of restaurants and a CVS . Shuttle service available as well. Will definitely stay here again over the next four years for the convenience. The parent club discount makes the cost comparable to other local hotels.

The rooms here are awesome. I've never stayed in a college conference hotel as nice as this. The beds are way comfy, coffee, in room, showers and toiletries are lovely. Cell reception of you have TMobile is useless from within the room but fine when you head outside.
The decor of the entrance hall and ball room was very classy. The entire place had a high end atmosphere as far as my shallow observations go. I hadn't any interaction with the staff there as far as I know other than bring directed to the ballroom. The reasons for a four star review are as follows: I am not in a position where I have visited thoroughly enough to give it a prestigious 5 star review, and the catering at the events I attended was good, but not better than say, the Virginia Tech campus dining.
I stayed here for two nights during February. Enjoyed my stay. It is close to anything on campus of Virginia Tech. It has a beautiful design and wonderful spirit. Very friendly staff. Clean room and wonderful dining area for meetings or morning work. Recommended.
Recently attended a professional conference here. This venue was perfect for our event. The size of the venue was perfect and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.
The graduation fair was held there. It was very organized and well laid out. The building was well kept and inviting.
Location is very nice. Parking is like a maze but it works. Meeting spaces appear to be recently renovated which is nice. I did not stay at the hotel part of this location so I cannot give any feedback there.
My parents were able to get a room as a walk-in. The room was nice, temperature ambient, and spacious. The restaurant on the ground floor, Preston's had a complementary appetizer, but it was for something my parents did not prefer. Drinks were good and service was average.

I attended a series of IT workshops / seminars at the Inn. The rooms were generally well equipped for the presentations and the complimentary snack bar provided by the Inn was wonderful (coffee, cookies, fresh fruit, soda, tea, etc.).
Working with Bianca for special events has always been a pleasure. She has great reccommendations and works with clients closely to make sure their event is how they imagine it and that there are not any problems with the realization of your ideas.

Was at one of the conference rooms for a work event. It was very nice, plenty of room for everyone, really good food, and we had great bartenders for our event. I would definitely recommend it for future events

The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skeleton Conference Center is an incredibly well polished building. Everything was fresh and clean, and the refreshments provided by the Inn were exceptional as well. There's definitely credibility to Virginia Tech's claim to amazing atmosphere and food.
We had dinner at Preston's with family staying at the Inn and out server couldn't have been nicer. She answered all out questions without any issues and took the extra time to check with the chefs regarding a food allergy. The food was delicious as well
I arrived at the Inn at Virginia Tech last weekend and had mistakenly booked the wrong date through Expedia. Allison the hotel clerk promptly was able to get me a room. Later the next day Allison called me to say she contacted Expedia and assisted me with cancelling the reservation I had made in error and returned my non refundable payment.
I truly appreciate the effort Allison made representing the Inn beyond my expectations. My stay was comfortable and I found the entire staff also very friendly. I absolutely would highly recommend The Inn at VT and plan to return the next time I visit my son at VT.
Went to the Inn to continue plans for a wedding next year. There was a wedding ceremony and reception already set up for later in the evening. The Inn's wedding planner was there and busy but more than willing to stop and talk with my family and I about what all was going on
Service is top notch and the facilities are immaculate. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. The rooms and public areas are orderly, functional, and cozy.

My company has a Christmas party here every year. I usually stay the night afterward, and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is $10 a person, but the food is great and it's worth the price.
Came for a departmental symposium. It was nice. The food was plentiful and lunch was especially tasty.
The bell and desk staff were extremely helpful, and there is ample parking. The hotel itself was very nice and set on beautiful grounds with excellent views from every room. There is even a lovely seating area outside the conference center if you want to go out and just get some air. The food in the restaurant was great, though I'm not sure the dinner prices are worth the return. Definitely check out their breakfast buffet though! For less expensive options, there are several food choices about a 1/2 mile away.

The Skelton Conference Center is very pretty and classy. Was a great setting for a professional event. Perfect for large, formal events.
Double beds are not Queen Beds, should be. Most of the room is nice, need to tear out old tubs and tile and replace with walk in showers and new tile. Rest of facility is nice. WiFi kinda hard to log into, can connect to hotel guest wifi but then must navigate to website other than Google, they suggest CNN, really? Turn on TV and every time goes to CNN sure seems politically motivated, why not FoxNews? Or just leave on last channel? Of course I shouldn't expect anything else, most higher learning facilities are totally extreme left political. Nice place just shouldn't be political.

Hotel rooms are clean. The hotel has special rate for the University staff. The staff is very nice. During my stay at the hotel I had to check out early in the morning and it was a pain to locate the receptionist (cons). Quality of food is great. My rating is five star.

The only reason I didn t rate them 5Star is CNN on TV was not receiving a good signal for three days-maybe not their fault but 4Stars is very good.
The hotel is a really pleasant place to stay - pretty rooms, nice view, pleasant landscaping. It has a really great location if you're here to visit your VaTech student. Rooms are nice, but some furnishings a bit worn. Health club is adequate, but lacking certain key exercise equipment. In general, it is a clean and well-maintained property.
Complaint: We've stayed here twice, have been told that our parking pass works on campus, and have received parking tickets twice. In the end, this is our fault. But, the fine print on the pass is not explained well by hotel staff. Since the pass hangs from your car's rear-view mirror, you don't read it until you have a ticket. I suggested to management that they do a better job of communicating on these details (e.g., provide an enlarged print hand-out at check in) and was blown off.
Suggestion: University might benefit from cutting a deal with a large hotel chain (e.g., Marriott) to run the property. I think that this would drive quality, consistency, and staff professionalism to a level that the university is seeking to achieve.
The duckpond room was very nice for a small symposium. Comfortable and practical with a nice built-in sound system.

Highly recommended - excellent stay both for a college visit in April and again for orientation in July. I found the Inn at VA Tech to exemplifies the atmosphere and personality of the school friendly, sincere, professional and always ready to serve. The front desk staff greeted us in a very gracious manner, ready to help with directions, information, suggestions and recommendations about the university as well as the town of Blacksburg. The shuttle driver even volunteered to take us on a quick tour of the entire campus after we checked in. Rooms are large and clean quiet too. The restaurant and bar are convenient and comfortable. The food surpassed my expectations fine dining in a casual atmosphere. I plan to return many times while visiting my daughter over the next four years! If you're visiting Virginia Tech, this is the place to stay.
