Beautiful historic building. Our rooms flooded before we arrived, & staff was not fully accommodating of our needs while they prepared other rooms. This added some extra stress to wedding weekend. Rooms are a little un-ergonomic (TV right above desk, no seating, etc.) Suites are better with more thoughtful amenities. Everything is very clean, comfortable, and stylish. The beautiful landscaping really makes it feel like you're in an isolated resort--but it's only a few minutes from town. Saltwater pool is very nice & easy on the skin, plus they have a great poolside atmosphere. If you're not here for an event, check to see if there will be one, since it might be noisy. Restaurant is very high quality & delicious.

We had a great server, Elise, and the grounds were lovely. The Poke appetizer was good and my basil cocktail was fantastic. Unfortunately the $52 ribeye was full of grissel and was sitting in some very sad looking broccolini. Very disappointed. It was our anniversary and we had gotten married at the Inn at RSF so we thought it would be romantic to go back. Maybe the spa would be a better bet...

Gorgeous property and excellent staff. 5 stars for those. Rooms were well appointed, but the bed left something to be desired. The sliding door to the bathroom was a bit odd and the motion sensitive lights were on a timer that was far too short.

really fell short for me. Elected to get one of their bigger rooms (room 105) but was disappointed nonstop. Room had broken fixtures in it, leftover garbage, furniture was sparse in huge space and seemed to lack any designer input, windows single pane and let a lot of seemingly quiet noises in, no dishes in room despite having a kitchen and continual miscommunications with the hotel on items needing addressing. While everyone was extremely friendly, the hotel just lacked a feeling of knowing how to run a hotel and ensure quality standards are met.

I absolutely loved this venue. I attended an event and did not stay overnight. The customer service was over the top amazing. And I understand from feedback that was shared with me that the rooms were very nice.

I am laying in my bed at the Inn and there is a wedding with a 6 or 7 piece band playing loud music, kids are screaming and running down the hallway and it is now 9:40. We were looking forward to sitting out on the grounds to enjoy the weather and quiet of Rancho Santa Fe. They set up all day yesterday and today and I m sure they will disassemble it tomorrow, so guess what, no sitting and enjoying the property. I would NEVER suggest you stay here if they have an event planned, they obviously don t care about their guests! And the rooms are not cheap! This has RUINED our planned vacation! They offered us a free breakfast, you have got to be kidding! Being charged over $400 a room and have to endure this misery, I would rather be home in my nice quiet house. We will stay elsewhere for our next vacation!

The inn has beautiful grounds, nicely maintained rooms, and good food. We stayed with a large group for a working retreat and enjoyed our meeting spaces and meals. Kelly helped us coordinate and was very attentive and accommodating.

Wonderful location. Stayed here for a training and very much enjoyed my stay. My room was very large, clean, and quiet. I never heard my neighbors, even coming and going. The property is beautiful with walking paths throughout. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.

Went to the huntsman bar at the Inn. While this place is kind of out of place, the cocktails are extremely good. The food was great for Sharing with a group. I recommend this place for a light bite and a cocktail experience if you are in the rancho Santa Fe area!

Stayed as an overnight guest and also attended a wedding. The event was lovely and staff was great for anything associated with the wedding. The room was nice. To me it was nothing exceptional. It was clean and had a large bathroom which included a clawfoot tub. The staff was friendly however there were issues. There was no tv remote in the room. We called for one around 3pm and was told it was in the way. Hours later nothing. Reminded them again. While out at dinner a remote one was delivered. This one had dead batteries so another call had to be placed. Not the end of the world but when you're paying hundreds a night, kinda annoying. Also I don't think they have enough staff to service the rooms. By 4pm no one had come to clean and we had been gone since the morning. Pretty location just didn't feel it was worth the money at all.

The fusion food here was surprisingly light and good. The atmosphere cozy as the dining area is a part of the hotel and is designed like an elk lodge. It's quiet, fancy restaurant in RSF. Abundant parking but the location isn't flashy like the Ritz.

Simple sophistication. A charming hotel, in a beautiful, natural setting, with friendly staff and great food. It's somewhat reserved and appeals to more classical sensibilities, but if you're looking for a quiet getaway with a special someone, or even just some time alone, there's very little to distract you from connecting with each other or your inner self.

Classic elegance, quiet and private. We loved the fireplace on the room, the cabanas and rooms scattered around the property. An unexpected pleasure in the day and age of high rise hotels. A san diego gem.

We had an excellent server. Her name was Heather. She was very patient and helpful throughout the entire service. We had children with us and she was very good with them as well. Everyone at the table had really good meals. I had the tri-tip sandwich and unfortunately the meat was a little bit dry. The Ambiance was awesome. The reuben sandwich was excellent. My sister had the eggs benedict and it was excellent. My father had huevos rancheros and the presentation was different but the flavor and food was excellent. Although it was on the pricey side we will most likely return.

The staff is super friendly and the inn is quite the experience. Very different from the hotels or villas I stayed at before. The views are quite beautiful. It feels more "residential", for lack of a better word.
From chatting with the staff, the resort gets busy during house reaching season. They seem to have some major events in the area.
No self parking option is available. You have to use the valet service.
The room service was really expensive. We didn't have much options for breakfast since almost everything is far away going down the hill though a bunch of curves. Speaking of which, this also made reaching this resort a little bit challenging at night and we almost missed it.

The hotel is pretty run down, especially the rooms and pool area. Like other reviewers, we were unable to use the pool or restaurant because we couldn t get a reservation...pretty unacceptable considering the price of the dumpy room. The staff didn t make any effort to accommodate us, couldn t even recommend another place to eat nearby. Not coming back.

The spa was beautiful. It was wonderful wearing their soft bathrobes and sipping spa water. There were complimentary fruits and nuts to snack on while we wait. The masseuse did a really good job at massaging my neck, shoulders, and wrist.

Trying to be a 5 star resort but not quite there. The room we had had thin walls and another patio next door so it was not quiet or private. The food in the restaurant is not the best in town, which has only one or two other places.

A quaint resort nestled in the estates of Rancho Santa Fe neighborhood of San Diego.

The decor is equestrian themed but with luxurious touches and warm tones. Rooms are spacious and welcoming. Beds are supremely comfortable. Service is great. The restaurant and bar serves the local community and is of extremely high standard and quality.

The Huntsman is a standout and trust Dutch.

The only issue I would have is the valet service.

This is a gem hidden in Rancho Santa Fe. We stayed here as a staycation and found it very relaxing. You felt like you were far away from any large towns and in the classic Mexican west with amazing food.

Booked 6 nights, 3 rooms. Took 2 of our kids and a friend.

The suite we are in has air con from the 70 s that is similar to old school window air con so the compressor is in your room and therefore it is very noisy. That s air con for a $60 a night hotel. I would have opened a window or two but the compressor for the suite next door is right outside our window and is on day and night.

The bathroom is arranged so that the toilet basin faces the vanity with about 12 inched between the two. Where are your knees meant to go? Whoever did the interior design needs to get a new tape measure.

There s no water pressure in the shower.

The door to the bathroom has a gap about an inch and a half to the door jamb. Don t expect any privacy.

The staff at the retaurant and in the bar area judge you and if you don t look like a million dollars expect to be talked down to. Never mind you have 3 rooms.

Nice location, nice architecture, nice history-might be good for a couple s overnighter but for the rest of us the Inn is trading on an undeserved reputation.
