My boyfriend and I found this resort thru a Groupon deal and decided to take a weekend fall getaway. I read some recent reviews and was a little nervous about how it would be here. We had a great stay! The decor might not be the latest style but it's clean, smells clean and the staff is wonderful! The breakfast buffet is comparable to Adelphia's in Deptford, NJ. So many delicious foods to choose from! The Saturday night guitar player/singer was fantastic. Spiked pink lemonade was out of this world! We took the free shuttle to Mt. Airy Casino and had dinner at the Buffet. Excellent! We just aren't the type of people who can hang out in a casino with smokers. Still, we had fun for two hours and went back to the Lamplighter Lounge, greeted by the bartender who remembered us the night before. We took a nice long hike during the day eventhough it was raining some and it was awesome! It was the type of getaway we were looking for. I recommend for couples and families!!!

Place was nice. Wish we would have had more time and planned ahead to use the spa here. Also wish there would have been some signs leading us to ice makers and the indoor pool. Unfortunately, got to listen to our neighbors sexual antics the one night due to the thin walls. Upside, the price to stay was not horrible, breakfast was nice at the one restaurant there and the bar is nice. Room was clean and just what we needed.

The layout makes it seem almost like a little village. Best when taken with snow. You want a room on either of the top two floors of the main building facing the mountains.

(Michael Ramirez I actually had the exact same thing happen to me. Went t the front desk and got upgraded to a top floor perfect mountain view room. I wasn't mean to them and they were really apologetic. They threw in vouchers for free drinks too.)

this past weekend I stayed at the Pocono Manor Saturday 11/26/16 with my wife. This is my 5th stay at this hotel and unfortunately it will be my last. I ve been at this resort for ski trips, golf outings, and relaxing weekends and I have never had an experience like my past one. First off we checked into the room and the first room I was put in was dirty and there was a connecting room with people acting like animals in the room next door. OK we were changed to a different room no problem. Our next room was OK. There was some sort of a convention over this weekend that was a huge issue. The people took over the hotel and were extremely disruptive and disrespectful. My wife and I were told on two separate occasions what are you doing here? you guys do not belong here . Throughout the night I was woken up serval times by people running through the halls screaming and pounding on my door. We called the front desk 4 time and were told it was going to be taken care of. I know for a fact seven other guests had similar problems and left in the middle of the night because of these issues. Maybe next time you are planning on having people like that at your hotel you should close it to the public.

We stayed at the laurel building, it was clean, the staff was very nice. The drawbacks were the old decor, no onsite fitness center and u need to make sure that the staff fully explains what the resort fees cover, we missed out on some activities because the young lady wasn't knowledgeable or was new...we still had fun on this trip....

Such a great place, that classic style. Elegant and refined with a touch of class and sophistication. The Lamplighter Lounge restaurant / bar has the same elegant feel and style. Thank you Amy S. for being one of the most helpful and sweet bartenders I've ever met.
Thank you again
Keep up the great work

You pay for what you get. Played golf...horrifically slow, inconsistent greens. The course alone is in good shape. If you re a serious golfer try somewhere else. More of a recreational/laid back beginners course.

The Room is nice and the hotel overall looks great, however the lobby got a old scent due to carpet's. Two elevator, only one works Not to Mention its very small. Heard alot of guests complaining about how dirty their room was when arrived. The rooms don't include fridge or coffee maker. They charge a daily fee if you need fridge/coffee maker. I had to switch room because the first one air condition not working. This hotel Need alot of work to be done. Also the pools are filled with clorine that inhaling burns your nostrils, eyes, l booked for 4 nights but am only staying for one

Recently on 10/21-10/22 I decided to take my wife away on a nice relaxing weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary. So I decided on Pocono manor resort and spa.... WOW what a huge mistake I made! On 10/22 (the day of our anniversary) i went to load the car up with our luggage and goods and noticed my car was broken into and window smashed out and several things stolen and car had been ransacked! The rear window had been shattered and someone had actually popped my hood and disconnected my battery terminal so my alarm would not sound! Now this is and advertised secluded resort tucked away in the mountains of the Poconos. At first conversation with the front office Julia Perry (front office and reservations manager) she was very apologetic and stated that the hotel would make things right! She then handed me a card and asked me to call Dan Harris the general manager of the hotel, which I did immediately and it took a couple days for Dan to return my call. When Dan Harris called me back he was also apologetic then he hands me off another phone number to speak to a Linda Lee at the resort that could helpl me so after 2 more days of phone calls I was able to get a hold of Dan Harris again to tell him I have not heard back from a Linda Lee. Dan then tells me he's called his insurance company and I should be expecting a call from a Donna Malcolm from Zurich insurance company and again after multiple days I'm finally able to get a hold of Donna Malcolm just so she can tell me basically it's my fault and there not responsible for anything that I was. First thing I'd like to state is that unsettling fact how targeted I felt being the only car in the middle of that entire resort to have been robbed almost as if I was being watched and the person new what I had stored in my car! Also knowing now how UNSAFE it is knowing there's people there lurking around to break into cars as a husband and fearing for the safety of my wife. So know I'm out nearly 500 dollars for the stolen items and another 515 dollars to replace the shattered window.. vacationers BEAWARE if your looking for a relaxing getaway this is not the experience your looking for!

We stayed in one of the lodges for two nights and our room was a dump. We've stayed at Super 8's that were nicer, and we only paid $54 a night vs. $133 a night here. It was old and outdated.
We had breakfast on Saturday in the main hotel at 9:30. The buffet was picked over so we had omelets at the omelet bar. All of the tables around us were unoccupied when we arrived and remained unbussed the whole time that we were at breakfast. When we needed silverware our server took some off of one of the unbussed table next to us. She also did the same with an old pitcher of water when I asked for a glass of ice water.
Saturday Night we ate at the bar in the hotel. The burgers were delicious! But we had to wait over an hour after we ordered to be served.
We are planning on making other arrangements for our trip next year.

I'm pretty unsatisfied with my stay here, first ti...

I'm pretty unsatisfied with my stay here, first time in the Pocono Mountains, if I come back I'd be better off staying at La Quinta or someplace like that because you pretty much know what you're getting there at least, this was definitely taking a chance and it wasn't up to par. I should have listened to the negative reviews.

First of all, there are no coffee makers in any of the rooms and there is no way to store or reheat food in the rooms, basically forcing you to keep eating at the expensive restaurants unless you bring your own food or leave. There is also no room service, so you have to go across the road to the restaurants if you are at the Spruce Lodge, and the waitress was super weird about me eating alone.

Luckily I figured out to grab hot water along with my coffee in the morning so I was able to make my own oatmeal and skip the $14 breakfast. Whoever made the coffee this morning did not know what they were doing as one of the jugs was completely watered down.

The pet fee & resort fees come to about 50 bucks a day, so be warned your bill will be much much higher than the original quote, because they do not include these fees in the quotes unlike most other places. I called the front desk and asked her to explain all the charges and she was incredibly rude and unapologetic for the confusion. My card has also been charged an extra $100 for what I assume is the deposit, the lady would not explain she basically just yelled at me, so hopefully they give that back.

Aside from the rooms not having any amenities besides the bed, TV, and desk, there were also no triple pronged outlets. I had to run an extension cord from the bathroom into the room to be able to do my work on my laptop..not okay.

I also found trash in the drawers and question if the bedding was actually changed. There is litter all over the ground outside, a real shame since the outdoors is the nicest thing about this place, weird crumbs and such lining the hallways, it hasn't been vacuumed recently. It also became extremely cold in the room with no way to regulate the temperature, I woke up this morning to find someone had left the front door open to the Spruce Lodge all night, sucking any heat out.. not to mention it's not really safe to have the door hanging open.

So I paid over $400 for two nights here (every bill I've looked at has a different price on it, but my card has already been charged $437.05), for basically camping in a room with no food storage or prep and dirty conditions. Just really unsatisfied & I won't be back..the highlight of my trip was leaving to go to big pocono state park and kinda wish I would've just camped there, however the hotel will be featured in my travel blog though! (not really a positive for you guys).

All in all this place *could* be really nice with some extremely basic upgrades, I don't understand why you wouldn't make the investment to at least put coffee makers in the rooms to give the guests access to hot water, or hire a couple of runners for basic room service. The dated furniture doesn't bother me and I'm not a picky person, I stayed at the red roof inn recently with zero complaints which I think says a lot. I knew the place was old, just it was missing much of what I needed to be able to have a comfortable stay.

The Pocono Manor Resort & Spa ballroom was perfect for a wedding reception. The room is all hardwood and had more than enough room to dance. Dinner stations were set up outside the ballroom in a small area, which got slightly crowded at the beginning of dinner. Cocktail hour was held in a separate location with access to a beautiful outdoor area. The double queen hotel room was spacious and clean and was conveniently located in the same building as the ballroom. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with many offerings.

I booked through the hotels website, which wasn't very difficult, but when I tried to go back and make a small change it was impossible to do it neither online nor by phone.
The hotel is ok, the rooms are not very spacious and just like all older hotels there is no room for your stuff (forget your wife's) stuff in the bathroom. The small change I try making was to get champagne every night (instead of the red wine I ordered when booking). Regardless, I had to hunt down the staff every night to even get a bottle of anything. The info does not automatically transfer between departments, which in this time in age is incompressensible, and end up spending 45 min.-1 hr. trying to get them to get it right. By the way, we did not get the chocolate covered strawberries the last night, but I just gave up on it... Oh, btw I bought the "Couple's" package but it was impossible to get a reservation in the spa during our stay.
THE STAFF IS AMAZING! MY EXPERIENCE SHOULD NOT REFLECT ON THEM AS EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS VERY FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, AND NICE WHEN DEALING WITH OUR ISSUES.

Exterior appearance looks impressive but upon closer inspection it looks more shabby. The interior is also overdue for an update as it still looks stuck in a era gone by. The building has a lot of potential if they renovated it as the entire area seems very dated. Prices are competitive so likely you get what you pay for.

If the restaurant is busy the food and service will be terrible but if it's slow you're good. Christmas fireplace is cheesy at best with very nice people but looses the homey feel when things like service falls through the cracks. We were very excited but disappointed in the kitchen which should be one of the main services that are provided fluently. (Appetizers took 1:30 to get to our table.

Well my wife booked this little get away for my 31st b-day 1130 pm the night before we wanted to go which is not usually a good idea. We really did not know what to expect at all for a last min trip. We were really nervous going to the hotel, we looked at the site before hand but everything looks better on the websites. When we arrived the outside looked pretty well kept and up to date which was a good sign. When we parked the car and walked in a saw a lot of people that looked like they were dressed for a wedding which was another good sign, i thought if people are getting married here it has to be nice and the food should be good too. When we checked in everyone was so nice and helpful and the place had a real home feeling to it. The rooms were so nice oldfashion but very well kept and up to date almost victorian look to it. Everything in the room was super clean and the ac was so cold thank god. This hotel really does have everything that you could think to do on the grounds which is great beacause i'm from staten island and i would've def got lost driving through those mountains.During the day we went for a 3 mile hike to a gorgeous waterfall and hung out by the beautiful inground pool. The night life is fun too. The hotel has a few bars around and 2 resturants a game room, pool tables, and a movie theater that you can request your own movies. Me and my wife really did love this place I give it 5 stars and i will def come back again with my kids and in-laws for a winter vacation.

The movie room uses chairs that makes one want to stand. All the while they have completely empty rooms with perfectly comfortable chairs. Enough on that. The children run wild throughout the property which makes the experience very challenging, to say the least. The rooms are adequate but nothing to write home about. On the other hand the property is well situated.

The place is dated, but mostly OK. Good enough for a laid-back stay or as a jumping-off point to attractions nearby. Be sure to ask for exact costs including "anything else they plan to charge" upfront.

Rooms are large enough with sufficient storage for your stuff. They're fairly clean, though a bit dusty and drafty. Could heat all hallway noises and the door kept banging while closed. Electrical needs to be upgraded; there are plenty of outlets but some don't work, same concerning lamps. Beds were too soft and gave me a backache at first, though I got used to it after a while and found them restful. Street noise was reminiscent of a city at night rather than the countryside.
HVAC is old but works. H and C are preselected depending on the season, which can be inadequate with cold nights and hot days. The vent blows directly onto the bed, which was unpleasant.
Bathroom was adequate, but with only a single shelf for toothpaste, etc. The tub had just a hole for a drain (careful not to drop anything small) and shower walls had rust deposits. Plumbing needs upgrades.
Available wifi, but good luck getting a signal inside your room. Same for cable TV.
Onsite food selection is somewhat limited: e.g. eggs & bacon or the like for breakfast; however, it's well prepared. Daily buffet is advertised but not always available. Complimentary coffee in the foyer. Ample seating in the lobby.
Generally, staff was friendly and responsive, though it felt like the place could be better managed.

A decent place to stay for a decent price. This hotel was built in the early 1900s and is largely untouched except for some modernizations. The pool area is nice, but you may want to bring your own towel because the ones they provide are like small dish towels. The web site says they have 3 restaurants at the resort, but only one was open when I was there (a bar/pub). Better dining options can be found at the casino which is a few miles away. There is a shuttle from the hotel to the casino and back, but that van is also the maintenance vehicle... so if there is a maintenance emergency, the shuttle may not be available.

The beds are comfortable which is the only good experience..The front desk clerk was rude with a attitude and they have fees that they don't tell u about until u look in your bank account and see it missing. They say it's a 50$ hold once u checkout but it was also another 67$ fee taking out my account that they claim they don't know why but it will take days to be put back on my card..The hotel and accommodations wouldn't that good to be going through this..i won't be returning

Beware. The setting is true to the images. Beautiful. The staff and management do not match the images. There is only one bar and it is inconsistently operating. The staff is unapologetic about services and venues not being operational. They are very comfortable and easily say that is broken, or it will be another hour until the bar will be open. Staff calls off and there is no backup so guests suffer. Not the level staff for this level of advertised resort and spa. Our TV in our room is operational only with an extension cord to an outlet that actually worked. The faucet in the bathroom leaked constantly. The shower did not drain. The air conditioning in the bar did not work. Another "no that's broken" not even a sorry. The shuttle to the casino that is advertised is "not working" forcing guests to drive or take and Uber on their own dime when they planned for and expected a shuttle. Very disappointing experience for my bachlorette party. I feel terrible for the weddings that book here if this is the service they receive. In a short this Management's sorry, not sorry attitude brings this to a very generous two stars. The only reason I gave them two not one star is because the bartender did offer to bring us drinks before they opened. Which we where charged for. No comp. Sorry, not sorry. Spend your money elsewhere.

Good spot for the weekend. Rooms and general decor can use a big upgrade, though. Room door wouldn't close without having to slam it shut, bathroom door wouldn't latch at all. Curtains looked straight out of the mid-60s. Great location, needs a lot of modernizing.

I very much enjoyed my time at Pocono Manor Resort and Spa. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly anytime we spoke with them; even when there was a problem with our room they always responded with professionalism and courtesy. One of the employees even took time to help me into my wedding dress. Honestly, they didn't have to do that for me and I'm very grateful for their help.

The only minor issue I experienced was the a/c not working in our room when we first arrived. We switched rooms, but untimely ended up having the building engineer fix the issue after some time. But when it was fixed it wasn't a problem and we could return to our original room. The manor itself is over 100 years old so there are bound to be issues here and there, and I suppose it could do with some renovations, but it was not enough to spoil my experience there. If you are looking for a nice classic stay this would be a good place for you.

Never in my life have we experienced what we exper...

Never in my life have we experienced what we experienced at check-in... First we arrived and parking was out of control. It's a first-come-first-serve. There were four of us and we let my husband out so he could check us in while we looked for parking. Parking took 15 minutes to find a space. As we were getting our luggage out of the car and getting ready to walk a considerable distance with all the luggage my husband texted and said it was a zoo inside. We knew that there was some sort of trouble. When we got inside there was a line of at least 20 people and one person behind the check-in desk. Everybody online said it was taking 15 minutes per person to get checked in. While my husband was still online a check in person announced that he was taking a 5 to 10 minute break. Dead Silence online because we all thought it was a joke. It was no joke he actually just up and left. And he actually announced to everybody that he didn't think us waiting another 5-10 minutes was a big deal. Everybody was standing in line wondering what to do now when they saw a hotel person and surrounded him. Turned out the poor guy worked in the kitchen and couldn't help them at all. But he admitted the check in guy was in the kitchen crying. This is a true story. After about 20 minutes two people came behind the desk who had no idea what to do. We think they were bellhops. But the line started to move and eventually we got our room key. We got up to our room after we had been waiting for at least an hour and a half. The room was okay it was small it was dated but it looked clean we were fine with that. We were in the room for about an hour when all the sudden our door opens and a couple who was online with us about five people behind us walk in. They have been given the same room as us. Luckily it was a first-come-first-serve situation and we kept the room. We don't know what else to say. We were only staying one night and we were very happy to leave in the morning. We heard from the kitchen staff that they are closing in November so maybe they just don't care anymore. But we didn't get a discount for having to wait an hour and a half online. Don't book here.
