Neglected, dirty, not functional. The only positive note, the central location in the city.

The hotel has a perfect location in the city center with many shops around, supermarkets the lake side & with many parking spaces in the area.

Overall the hotel is old but it is well maintained. The room is basic and comfortable, with a new bathroom. Everything very clean.

We also has continental breakfast in the hotel, and very nice with a wide variety (fruit, cereals, coldcuts, bread, pastry...)

Service was very attentive and friendly, only thing the communication should be improved as they communicated is some offers (Montreux Card and 3x2 nights offer) just when we arrived... It would have been nice to know in advance to organizer of visit accordingly.

Hotel very well located, right in front of the casino. It has the class of an old palace .. on the other hand the room was really poorly arranged: a toilet / shower large as a closet (no more than 3m2) and a large empty room of about 20m2 with just a bed, a table .. and the sink has the opposite of the toilet / shower! And a bad insulation.
It's a pity the room could be renovated in a more modern style.
Breakfast also disappointing.

It has a particular charm as it is an old building. The rooms are all different and the layout is special. In the center of Montreux. Close to supermarkets, pharmacies, cinema, restaurants, ..
And especially from Lake Geneva!

Expensive and dated hotel without insulation not to mention the daylight to wake you up at the first light of day, with a little luck the breakfast will be correct ...

Great service! Receptionist who welcomed us was extraordinarily helpful and polite. Room was clean and comfortable. Romms have minibars as well. Downstairs there is a restaurant with good food and reasonable prices.

I have not stayed there but this hotel is more than welcoming and I know it is not expensive.

Strange combination of new and old things. Windows that are 50 years old, brand new bathroom in my room, very old in my friend's room. Breakfast: with not many choices, but all good.
Great location, 50m to the casino with the Queen museum and 200m to the Freddie Mercury statue. Friendly and helpful staff.
I would stay there again

No stay at the hotel but a visit to the bar in the early evening, friendly and warm staff, value for money .. nothing to complain about. We asked the bartender for cocktail creations and the level to exceed expectations, perfect to enjoy a relaxing end of the day with a good cocktail.

When we were there the hotel was under construction, which detracted somewhat from the comfort, but in return it was a great cost benefit to the place.

I didn't book a room but I have to rate the service.
I'm working for a Bus Company in Germany and we have quite a few special requests for hotels.

I was just talking to a nice young lady who helped me as much as she could and even referred me to a hotel which could fulfill my wishes. This is not a matter of course so I'm impressed with the service.

I wish all receptions would be as kind as patient as the reception at this hotel, to this I say 'Thank you' for the great service.

Excellent location, central with views both towards the mountains and the casino where the Queen museum is located, excellent staff, helpful, we felt pampered, highly recommend, clean and well-kept hotel!

In the summer, the room was painful because there was no air conditioning. Only a floor-standing fan with no use. The room smelled out and the cleaning was what it was. Breakfast was adequate and the staff very polite and friendly.

Got a big room facing the casino but the room is old and floor boards are creaky. The washbasin and toilet/bath tub are in separate rooms - so distant from the bedroom. Would rather they renovate into one big, newer bath room cum toilet with fresh new tiles and bath tub. Would appreciate non creaky floorboards, refurbished furniture and balcony.

Friendly, helpful and very nice staff. Although the hotel is very old, it has magic atmosphere of old times. Do not expect high end bath equipment. The hotel is very clean and breakfast has great pastries.

Old hotel but managed well. If you are lucky and got a good view, it's a deal. Staffs are well behaved and helpful. Everything is at a walkable distance although this hotel is little far from the station. It takes nearly 15 minutes to walk down from the station. Would definitely recommend for one/two nights stay.

Traditional and charming, shabby but sweet. Amazing location.

Good things,
Staff: Everyone we've met including the cleaners have been very friendly and helpful.
Location: great walking distance to a heap of local places.
Wifi: Decent enough speed to relax and stream a show.
Restaurant: great food right at your doorstep.

Not so good things,

Bathrooms: we have mould in our bathroom. The shower head sprays out horizontally with no adjustments other than pressure.
Pillows: average and no extras offered.
Breakfast: 15 francs for a very limited selection of a continental breakfast. You can however get your 15 francs worth out of the coffee which is nice!

Overall the hotel is decent. They are progressing with renovations which should help modernize the hotel. The rooms are definitely usable. And the staff help make it feel more homely. Reasonable value for money.

Let's start with the strengths:
- centrality; is located less than 10 minutes from the station, in front of the casino (and the Queen studios, which are inside and have free entry), near the bus stop, near the statue of Freddie Mercury
- cleaning
- kindness of the staff
- relatively low prices

Tips for improvement:
- renovation of the bathrooms, which are old and without heating. Mixers rather than old taps would be appropriate.
- a shower to replace the old bathtub
- add a kettle in the rooms (it is present in any b & b)

By booking on booking, with the addition of about 4 we got a room with a lake view, very large and elegant. It must have been about 50 square meters excluding the bathroom which was still very large.

However, we note that the structure is undergoing renovations and we are convinced that it will soon be the top!
If we return to Montreux we will definitely return!

It was built in 1865 in Montfleu, Switzerland. It has a feeling of luxury hotel in the middle ages, but it is inconvenient because it does not have air conditioning.

Retro-style hotel in a strategic position to see the Christmas markets in Montreux

Thank you very much for your attention, on my arrival basket of fresh fruits, bottles of water, thankful, very clean everything, a phenomenal service.recommendable.

Hotel is good, clean, just old. Beds were comfy and the room was quite spacious. Not 5 stars as there was someone fighting on a room above us and for how long it went on it's clear the staff didn't do anything about it. It was so loud the whole hotel could hear them.

Helvetia ,Montreux is very conviently located ,bang on the road .Many buses are available right from the train station .More so the icing on the cake is __-_it's close to lake Geneva

The hotel itself is pretty nice and in a nice location. Rooms are big, and the terrace is pretty sweet.

The reason for my 2 stars is basically I had to kill a couple of roaches on my room, as well as dealing with constant ants all over our room, specially the bed.

Hotel, Restaurant is good and personal very helpful.

We arrived by date mistake and we stayed one night in this hotel! To save us from the trouble it was quite comfortable for one night! It has good location and very nice staff.

Nice spacious room. Carrying baggage up is a little problematic because the elevator is very small. Staff was very nice. Right next to a bus stop and 10 mins walk from the train. Recommended.

It is located in an excellent place, everything you can go on foot, the prices are not very cheap but it is worth the rock, the hotel is an old building but very well maintained and the receptionists speak Spanish

Friendly and helpful staff, for me beautiful hotel rooms, price - performance was right.

Hotel dilapidated. The rooms are big but watch out for intruders ... Our room was infected with cockroach and in our bathroom we could see a cockroach family wandering around. In short, disappointing stay.

Great hotel.. provided us with a kettle when we asked, extra pillow. Their service and help was exemplary. Great location and right next door to the most AMAZING swimming pool complex I have ever seen. AND..the hotel gave us free entry passes!

It was a peaceful three-day stay. Hotel in the center, close to the Montreux train station, approximately seven blocks. I didn't have breakfast. Very simple. It is worth going to the central train station Coop. Very old hotel, shower is not practical, inside the bath. Zero accessibility. Good facilities. Below the hotel, on the sidewalk, there is a very good restaurant.

Hotel in a retro style, very nice from a certain point of view but a little limited in terms of sanitary facilities. Very warm welcome, great service in the hotel restaurant and a very decent menu.

A little tip, the hotel can give you a Montreux Riviera pass which allows you to take the bus for free and offers a 50% discount on most tourist activities in the area. Really great!!!

Super Hotel The staff is very professional and very sympatic. The brewery of very high quality. I have already been this summer and have just returned. I will return soon. Thanks to all the staff and happy holidays.

Traveling for work, too expensive for the conditions (it's simply old, not historical). Obsolete room, with single-glazed window, portable air conditioner connected with a pipe to a hole made in the glass window. Bathroom without tub, but with huge shower tray. Comfortable bed. Breakfast expensive (paid extra) but abundant. Parking absent. Smiling and very kind employees. I would not stay here again if I had to pay for it.

I loved it here, I stayed in a few hotels while in Montreux but I have nothing but good memories of my time here. The staff was wonderful, the rooms are simple and just right for the price. Felt like home. Right up the street from the casino and close to many restaurants and stores, what more could you ask for :)

Tight room, actually had to leave the toilet door open so my knees could bend. Renovations hopefully will improve the communal areas. Staff just going through the motions, not engaging at all.
