Everything was great. Very nice and spacious room with OH so comfortable beds & pillows (I want to buy one!). Staff was EXCELLENT, especially the bellmen...very polite staff. The only thing that really disappointed me was that they closed the rooftop bar way too early or wasn't opened during our stay (M-W for business conference)

Beautiful Tremont House Hotel is located on Galveston Island, my husband enjoyed two days, being treated with sincere respect. Excellent rooms, live jazz music in the lobby Fridays, Saturdays from 6- 10pm. There's also the Toujouse Bar on the roof of the fourth floor which dates back to 1888.

Beautiful on the outside. The front desk representatives was very bland, not really welcoming.

Also, my pet barked and I was called back, we had to cancel and find another stay. Not quite pet friendly.

The Tremont house was stunning, with huge, lavish and old timey rooms. The rooftop bar had a lovely atmosphere and provided a good time for all. I have no complaints and will definitely return.

The Tremont is a nice, historic hotel in Galveston. From the Tremont we were able to easily walk to the Strand and many different eating options were very nearby. The Galveston Sea Wall and Pleasure Pier were just a couple minutes drive down the road as well.

The service at the hotel was great, and while we didn't try the restaurant or the rooftop bar both looked very nice as well. The room itself was comfortable and carried its own personality unique to the Tremont. We would gladly stay here again.

We are staying the night at the Tremont hotel. For being a 4 star hotel it is seriously lacking in cleanliness. Seeing dust everywhere I wet a white washcloth and proceded to clean. Something on the bathroom mirror looks like blood. But whatever it is it will not come off. The lamps had a lot of dust on them. Cleaned all of them. The furnitures had dust in the grooves (and some pieces need some minor repairs). The windowsills and the wood going across the panes had so much dust buildup it looked fuzzy. I cleaned them. The baseboards need a serious cleaning and some touch up with paint. There are damaged tiles in the bathroom floor. I presented the manager with the filthy washcloth. I explained that I have a lot of allergies and have been having issues with asthma also. That is why my house is as dust free as it could possibly be. For what I paid for this room it should be cleaner than my house. So disappointed.

Nice selection. Elegant surrounds. One of my favorite historic hotels. Managed by Wyndham, but owned by the Mitchells. An old island family. Located central strand, everything is walkable, except for the beach. You can often get upgraded to a suite, off-season, if you show up later in the evening.

The building is absolutely charming, the staff very attentive and professional, and the room, although small, was adequately furnished. While it was mostly clean, it wasn't as clean as the two other hotels we stayed at this trip.
Having a "doorman" was a lot of fun, and they were all very helpful
The bar was great, although the bartender was a little too busy for us as the hotel was hosting a wedding that night. The hotel was also a little noisy that night--wedding guests celebrating. The rooms have enchanting "balconies" that open to the lobby/ bar area below, but unfortunately soundproofing suffers slightly as a result.
The room's temperature could not be controlled, or at least, as far as we could figure out. The thermostat said 69 but the still air (even with the gorgeous high-ceiling fan running--maybe it was too high to work well?) and the humidity made the room feel close, too warm, and sticky, making it a little hard to sleep comfortably.
The shuttle wasn't as convenient as it was at one of the "3 star" hotels we stayed with earlier this trip, and it ran 45 minutes late to pick us up for our cruise, so we didn't get to arrive as early/ get oriented/ settle in as we would have been able to otherwise.
The cleanliness of the hallways and elevators was not so great. The elevators themselves were awesome--the rear wall was glass so as one goes up and down one has a view of the bar and lobby. But the elegant carpets in the elevators and the halls looked like they had not been vacuumed for quite some time. Also we had a water glass (left by a previous guest, I assume) sitting just outside our door from the time we checked that was still there when we checked out, and I noticed that there were a lot of other such glasses along the edge of the hall that seemed to be there for the duration of our stay.

One of the great hotels in Galveston, Texas. A former apartment house, the Tremont has well appointed large rooms, a cafe and two bars to accommodate any tastes. It is located right on the Strand in Galveston and is convenient to local businesses and the port. I love the old world feel and charm of the place. Highly recommended!

Not a 4 star hotel. Rooms are beautiful, they look just like the pictures. There's no pool, theres no parking except for valet or 1 hr, the mattresses to be replaced- really bad. Housekeeping could be better. It's charming in an antique kind of way.

The Tremint House is beautiful and in a great location near the Strand. Service is great and there is both an indoor and outdoor bar.

Unfortunately our room was next to the elevators and we could hear the elevators going up and down. It kept me awake although my husband was able to sleep through it. We should have called in the middle of the night and asked for a room change. So, you may want to ask to not be near the elevators.

We'd go back but would ensure we were away from elevators.

The suites are beautiful and the regular rooms that I saw seem to be quite elegant as well. Rooftop bar is beautiful. You have pool access via shuttle from the sister hotel, Galvez. Not the best if you have kids, if you want a pool on site, and the gorgeous rooftop bar is 21 and up only, they can t even walk out and see the view. Just some things to keep in mind. :-) We will be back. Best place I have stayed in Galveston. (On a side note, the Galvez rooms have sadly gone way, way down, although the common areas are still lovely.)

Despite me seeing reviews that this was a family hotel I do not agree. I went here for a one night stay with my 2 kids. First when you open the doors there are two small flight of stairs so if I brought my daughters stroller I would've been in trouble. Even if I did I am sure the staff would have helped me everyone there was nice and accommodating! However this hotel is more for couples, the younger crowd or a guys/girls trip with friends. The rooms have NO microwave and NO fridge so I could not store my daughters milk/formula nor could I warm up her bottles. There was another mom there looking for Tylenol for her son and she was a bit annoyed there was no gift shop in the hotel or anywhere she could get medicine and that she had to leave the hotel to go somewhere to get some. There were a lot of people drinking in the lobby/bar area and coming in and out the elevators which actually was no bother to me all the guests were nice to me and my kids. The hotel has a New Orleans feel with a modern twist to it. I loved the tall ceilings in the room made it seem very spacious! However the toilets have a weird handle which I had to figure out how to flush the toilets. Very annoyed with that and the fact that the drain in our bathtub did not work. Do I think it was worth the $200 a night stay? NO. However that does not take away that is it a nice hotel I just would not come here with my kids

This is a great place to have a romantic evening. There is a cool coffee shop there and on weekends, there is live piano music to soothe your ears while seeping your coffee. Great historic place.

I love this hotel and will always stay here when visiting Galveston. Our King Suite was wonderfully appointed. We took advantage of the lower mid-week prices, making our stay very reasonable so go online to look for their specials. Located one block off of The Strand makes it super convenient for our needs. Sunset on the roof top bar is spectacular and breakfast was more than adequate (Yummy Eggs Benedict !) Parking is a problem in Galveston so take advantage of the Valet parking. Definitely my favorite hotel in the state !!!

Customer service... meh.... said we could park for the cruise for one price - not true. Not a nice overnight desk lady. Manager was nice and Britani was sweet and helpful. Was gonna stay again on our way back but changed our mind. Probably won't be back. At all. Nice decor, tho.

Excellent location and excellent service. The bathroom in our room was not clean but the room itself was nice and roomy. Loved the closet. Bathrooms are smallish. The rooftop bar was closed but they had a very nice snack bar at the Toulouse bar downstairs with live jazz band. Loved the bathroom products as well and we had plenty of towels. Finding rooms can be a little tricky. Over all great hotel but the rooms were just okay.

We went for the rooftop bar. The view and atmosphere were very nice. It was a cool evening, so they had the heaters on. I did not purchase a drink because they were too highly priced for my taste. (Signature cocktails from $10-13). But the friends I went with enjoyed their drinks.
