Nice place for a meeting but they interrupt a little too often
Nice homey feel. Friendly service. Clean, quiet, spacious rooms!
Very clean and comfortable hotel with great amenities and free parking and Wi-Fi and a pool and a gym. Conveniently located close to shops and 401 highway
Be carefully you are actually booking with the hotel, because I just called Oct 16,2020 and made a reservation with who I thought was Hilton Garden Inn, but in fact the call was answered by bookaroom.com , who told me I could change or cancel my reservation up to 10pm the next day, Oct 17,2020 and that I could check in without a credit card. When I went to check in I was told I could not unless I had a credit card. I was forced to cancel the room, but luckily I was told I could up until 10pm that evening. Today I phoned again to check how long before I got my refunded back my money and was told my room was only able to be cancelled on Oct.15,2020???? But what????, that was even before I made my reservation, how can I cancel something I haven t even made yet?
The agent I spoke to over the phone about this argued with me about the cancellation policy until I asked to speak to a manager and listen to the quality assurance recording of my Reservation booking. I was put on hold for five minutes, so the agent could listen to this said call. In the meantime I m speaking to my husband about the fact that I was charged in US funds and never told that, so I assumed it was I. Canadian funds, since that is where I called from. The address on my reservation isn t even the address I gave them either. Then the agent all of a sudden comes back on the line to ask me if I knew the reservation I made in US funds?? Uhhh, didn t I just say that to my husband??? This means the agent was sitting in silence listening to me talk, probably hoping I would get sick of holding and hang up. I again demanded to speak to his manager. He finally transferred me to a woman named Mitch, who listened to my problem, called the hotel for me and got my money refunded back to me, giving me a ticket number for the refund so I can track and use it should I have any further questions. Thank God for Mitch because I was ready to blow my top if I didn t get a resolution.
So lesson learned, always get the agents name and id #, challenge what you are told, ask for the quality assurance recording to verify what you were told and most importantly, buyer beware who you are dealing with. I m appalled that Hilton would allow such corrupt people/third party company use to piggy back off their good name and ruin it. I will never ever use a third party company again, knowingly!
The room was nice but it needs a bit of a refresh as well as the bathroom
Sheet on bed were clearly not changed, stained and had hairs throughout. Had to change them ourself at 1am
Room was clean, hot tub needed defoamer (it had a few inches of foam within seconds of turning on jets). Breakfast wasnt hot.
Under renovation it really needs remodeling and new furniture.
Really nice business center as well as pool and workout room.
AC works, everything is organized, the Wi-Fi and tv work. But it is outdated, as in carpet is an eyesore, wallpaper is from the 90s probably, Wi-Fi goes on and off, restroom is small, ironing board was bent, and man that smell when you walk in. It Smells. No free breakfast when you pay cheap. Can't say the beds are great, better than no bed. Oh and if your on a budget, I recommend not drinking the water bottles provided for you...$2 each...only Hilton honors get free water bottles. And better wifi. Also I came in the restroom and there was toilet paper in the toilet, glad there wasnt any other things in there but yeah, not that clean.
Staff is okay, but not the most "let me help you" type of people. So I will not be returning to this Hilton. Better options else where. For the record, not all Hilton's are bad...just this one doesn't meet my expectations.
You get what you pay for...
Friendly staff, very clean and resturant is great. We have stayed more than once and plan to stay again.
A good stay. Rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was very good. Lots of shopping and dining nearby.
I recently got a chance to see the Hilton after they renovated the front over hang. Looks pretty good, and the hotel is pretty much like it's always been.
Stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding in the area. We didn't have a chance to check the bed until we got in at 1am and found that the sheets had clearly not been changed as they were stained and had hairs throughout. SAD. Front office staff clearly didn't care too much but we got a new set quick enough and changed ourselves. Looking forward to the complimentary breakfast in the propane smelling front lobby!
Bed was too soft. Very little seating area for breakfast which was right in front of the main doors with a cold draft. Rooms were still pretty costly despite the renovations. Had to go to another floor for ice. Receptionist made an error when I was checking in which had me on the phone with my cedit card company for 20 min. Was not impressed for my first stay with Hilton. I won't be staying with them again.
Stayed there in late Nov 2020, when I entered my room the A/C was blowing cold full force. Add that to the fact that you cannot open the window to renew the air in the room, and that the carpet must be a breeding ground for acarids, and I fell very very sick (which seldom happens to me). Also on my second day of stay there I could not get hot water in the shower... waited 15 min with the tap turned-on at its hotest. The hotel still gets 2 stars instead of just one because the staff was good.
Very nice great staff, love the bar and convenience of food on site
Nice and clean. Remodeling the foyer. Great rooms and very close to many dining choices.
Service was good. Got us a playpen for a baby to sleep in that we asked for. They brought sheets for it without us having to ask for it. Nice clean rooms nice pool, workout room.
Very clean hotel with easy access to everything you need.
I thought the name Hilton stood for more. They say if your not satisfied you get your money back. When we found a bug in our bed they just switched us to another room. Personally we should have got our money back. Staff we're friendly. Expensive.
Service was amazing as were the staff. Very accommodating, from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Close to local amenities. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Hot breakfast was made to order and better than most continental breakfasts.
I've been at hotel many time's , excellent service from staff to front desk . Thanks a great deal to front desk lady named Carrie :)
Clean rooms, good location, and the staff are Amazing. If you like Sports, you got to chat with Tyson at the front desk.
Location Kitchener Ontario.
Comfortable rooms and beds.
Buffet lunch.
Pool.
Gym.
Parking
Great stay!
Such a comfortable, cozy hotel. Was super happy with the room we had, and it even had an armchair, which for my grandmother, was a godsend!
Good hotel with excellent prices, centrally located in Cambridge area.
Enjoyed my stay. Rooms were clean and hotel staff were pleasant.
The receptionist wasn't friendly. Otherwise, it was okay
This is a Hilton hotel but is a bit worn. The good news is they are doing renovations at this time, the bad news is the staff couldn't care less that the renovations are an inconvenience to you as a guest. The rooms are old and the carpets dirty and there are only ice machines on 4th and 5th floors while they should be on all, as the sign indicates it.
The breakfast was surprisingly good! Buffet style but you can order foods from the chef. Better than the top rated diner place in the town and it only costs $12. Staff work in the breakfast place were very friendly! Old fixtures which surprisingly don't bother me that much (at least they are quite clean) however, the bathroom can be improved - the hanger is rusty... I would say it is better than the rest chain hotels in the town.
Okay room. Nice bartender and good food in lobby bar/restaurant. But under renovation.
Great place. Until son went to workout although he's only 16 lady still freaked out and swore at my son saying he was "abusing" the treadmill
It is nice to walk into ur hotel room to smell that it is clean, but it is terrible that a outbreak (covid) is to take credit for the rooms being disinfected!!! Me being me looks under the bed and behind the end tables just to c how clean this room really is. Well there is so much dirt, dust bunnies and garbage makes me think do they really clean or just spray disinfectants?
This hotel is great, clean, great beds and staff are wonderful. I have recommended
The hotel to several people and they loved it.
Very clean rooms, helpful staff, will stay there again
Nice size clean rooms. Lobby was under renovation. Reasonable
Stayed at the hotel on September 19th. Staff were pleasant. Room was clean but in desperate need of a refresh. Furniture and decor is dated. Bathroom fixtures are rusting. Toilet needs to be changed.
Really great customer service restaurant great pool great the rooms are a bit dated but they are currently renovating the public area already redone the pool is wonderfully warm we stay there whenever we are in the area. Hopefully when covid is over housekeeping will resume. They also need to refurbish the guest laundry I had a problem but the hotel assisted by drying my laundry. So don't use the in-house laundry
It was fine. Standard small town hotel. They had a decent bar in the lobby which was convenient.
Saw a staff member fold a towel with his mouth. I don't know a lot about the rules of hygiene in a hotel but that surely isn't right. Although staff are friendly they surely need proper training.
The best friendly staff I have seen for some time. Jason and Rosa know how to serve up a top knotch breadfast. Even though we came in with a convention (JW) we were all accommodated without fuss. Right on the 401 access. 10 min from Kitchener. Will return
Great stay here, staff is outstanding and very helpful, food at the bar is great, pool was relaxing, gym is nice, beautiful decor, grateful for the room service!!
Glad to see the hotel is getting updates. Not very soundproof rooms. I could hear people coming and going out of their rooms all night and the rain outside. Clean room. Polite staff
Older Hilton could use a face-lift. Enjoyed my stay after the room change 1st bed needed tossing felt like I was sleeping in a taco shell.
Prime location, right off the 401. Close proximity to restaurants and shopping. 10 min drive to Cambridge Mill.
Front desk agent during the day is horrible! Been waiting on hold with reservations for over an hour after being disconnected for the second time in two days with no call back! My only request is to switch to a better Hilton hotel!!!! I I will NEVER STAY AT A HILTON HOTEL EVER AGAIN!!!! GLADIT ONLY COST ME THREE HUNDRED TI FIND OUT THAT THIS COMPANY DOESNOT OFFER ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IF YOU STAY ON A HOLIDAY!!!! SPACE HEATERS IN THE LOBBY AMD A VERY DATED ROOM!
We like this place, and stay regularly. The only drawback is that during hockey season you do get big loud groups that can be pretty anti social... The trick is to ask for a room on a quiet floor.
My husband and I stayed here while he was on a business trip and we both were disappointed. The pillows were the cheapest and most uncomfortable pillows I have ever used. The alarm clock was preset to go off at 5:50am and the walls were so thin that the neighbouring room s alarm woke me up at 5:50am even after I had turn off the alarm in our room.
The most disappointing hotel experience I ve ever had.
Clean rooms and friendly helpful service from the staff. We will stay again when we are nearby again. Close to the highway for easy access in and out as well. If you want to visit a good brewery, I recommend Wave Maker!
Still under construction. Delicious breakfast buffet.
Had a horrible experience. Went up there to visit family and stayed at this hotel. When I left the room for the day I had forgot something so I go back up to the room just a few minutes later and there are two cleaning ladies sitting on my bed chatting. Worst part is when I want to go complain to the manager about it there was no Management on and there still wasn't any Management on when I left either. I emailed the manager when I returned home and all I received was an apology.
We stayed at the Hilton garden inn on a Saturday night for a wedding. In the morning we went down to the breakfast area and had breakfast, assuming it was complimentary. It was not. After paying $135 for one night, we assumed breakfast was included. We had to fork out another $30 for 2 breakfasts. The sausages in the buffet were very fatty and did not have that delicious breakfast sausage taste. Would not stay at this chain again.
Great accommodation for a late check-in. Staff and security were very friendly. Hotel rooms I booked were very clean. Only thing I disliked about the rooms was the placement of the towels in the shower.
Under construction currently. The food is average and not the best service compared to all the others I stay in.
The hotel is old but clean. Staff is friendly as well.
Hotel is currently under construction, so except a bit of discomfort. I think, they will be done in a couple month and it would be great again.
Some construction work was occurring, so it was a little untidy. Otherwise, everything was as one would hope at a hotel: polite staff, good service, and a clean and comfortable room.
The facilities were clean and service respectable. I found the beds slightly uncomfortable and the blinds the did not close all the way so it made for a bright night. However very affordable.
Good and comfortable. The decoration of the rooms starts anyway to date a little .... But I would come back without problems!
